poll about age!

I was reading the times yesterday (annoying can't post link because now have to pay for their website) was article about women having her first baby at 30 and how all her friends were still waiting. Midwife said all first time mums generally under 20 or over 34 unless it was unplanned.

So - who here is on their first pregnancy, how old are you (and if you don't mind saying was it planned?) if its your second pregnant how old were you first time?

Just nosey really couldn't really believe that 30 was young for a first pregnancy...

With 1st pregnancy I was 32. This current pregnancy I am 36, but will turn 37 before the birth. Both planned, although this 2nd one has taken a long time, hence the gap.

1st-21
2nd-22
3rd-will be 31

This is my first baby.

Became pregnant at 34. Will be giving birth at 35. It's planned.

First: 29 - unplanned

Second: will be 34 - planned

I guess I fit the model.

21 for first, 24 for second. Neither planned.

First: 30 (although had m/c aged 29)
Second: 32

All planned.

Was 2nd of close friends to have kids, and out of antenatal class/school mums was either younger or the same age than most IYSWIM (out of say 15 mums).

I'm 24 and 7 weeks pregnant with my first. It was planned, though we didn't think anything would happen so quickly!

Compared with most of my friends from school I'm one of the last to start having children, however amongst my university and now work friends I'm one of the first.

Not pg now but first at 26, second 27, third 30 and 4th 34

All planned

First at 21 unplanned and now 22 weeks with second planned and i am 33

Got pregnant with first when I was 30. Planned. Had been thinking about it for a few years as thought we would struggle to conceive.

24, expecting first, will be 25 when he/she is born.

Unplanned, but very much wanted now!

29 and 30 - both planned. Was the first of my friends to have children.

Pregnant now with my first at 20.

So this board is representative of what article was saying, more women in 30s having first babies than 20s. Many (but not all) of the younger mums babies unplanned.

Ds1 planned at 34, Lo2 due march unplanned 40

First , DS, (unplanned) born day before my 31st birthday
DD1-planned, I was 34
DD2-planned(ish)- due in 7 weeks, i will be 38.

I was one of the last of my university friends to have children./get married. Most have children in secondary school already!

1st - 24 (planned)
2nd - 25 (planned)
3rd - 27 (unplanned)

First of friends to have a baby!

I was 30 (31 a month after her birth) and she was very much planned.

1st - 27
2nd - 29

First of my school and university friends to have a baby, but was told I shouldn't leave it late to avoid problems.

DS (planned) at 28, but we were TTC for a couple of years before that.

1st planned at 35
2nd planned at 39...wish i could squeeze in another....but 43 no so its a no no more...

First at 26, pregnant with second at 29, both planned

First at 32, second at 35, third (if all goes well) will be at 38. All planned (well, this one planned-ish).

Most women I met in antenatal groups and meet now through the DCs were about the same age.

22, was on the pill 'shocked but very happy!' as the midwife put it :)

This is my 1st pregnancy at 40, planned.

Will be 41 by the time DS arrives if all goes well
