Do you think its safe to wear spanx or will I end up squideging the baby up to my armpits or something?

moosemama · 01/07/2010 16:46

Great news that the scan was all good HKZ. Another January baby then. You'll be getting all the 'creatures of habit' jokes that dh and I get when people find out our boys are 2 years 1 week apart.

Re the spanx. I would say its probably safe, but you will most likely be really uncomfortable all night. Have you got anything dressy in an empire line style?

chefswife · 02/07/2010 07:50

Hey ladies. I'm posting from bed on my IPod Touch as DH and DD are sleeping next to me. Ooh. Correction. DH is up and heading to the toilet. Lol oh and handcis staring to fall asleep. Had a nice day with my friend in Victoria. Hmm. Must get this done. Ok

HKZ there is spanx for when you are pregnant.

tinktellyaddict · 02/07/2010 12:00

120 · 02/07/2010 12:08

another me me me post here

Had a bit too much to drink last night and was sick in the baby toilets at a baby group this morning. How bad is that?

Need to go and lie down as they are sleeping.

DD just said 'Mummy, I am absolutely, completely not tired and I don't want to go to sleep'. V funny as she isn't even trying to sound like Lola. And has fallen asleep.

Afternoon

Hope you feel better after a lie down 120.

Lol at your dd's unintentional Lola impression.

Just spoke to the triage nurse at the GP as wanted advice about my ankle. As the sprain swelling and pain in reducing I am feeling more and more of a really sharp nauseating pain right where the bone chip was on the xray. Didn't know whether to go back to A&E and didn't want to get told off so called the GP instead. She has booked me an appointment for next Tuesday afternoon. Not sure how much use they can be really, as the xrays are at the A&E department and there is very little to see or feel around the area, not very much swelling now, I can poke it and weight bear on it, then it throbs and hurts like hell when I'm resting (most contradictory).

I was a little annoyed that the nurse was antsy with me when I couldn't make the appointment times she suggested. The first one she offered me was 3.10, which is dead on school pick up for ds2, then she said, "what about 3.00 then?" ... er no. Then I explained I don't drive, but couldn't at the moment anyway, so can only go when I can get a lift of someone and she actually puffed at me.

Am hoping it has settled down by next Tuesday so I don't need to go, but at least it will stop everyone nagging me about getting it sorted.

I walked (well hobbled leaning on the puschair for support) to fetch the boys from school yesterday and really paid for it last night. So obviously I'm not ready for anything other than pottering in the house. I hate this, its so boring!

On a happier note, I have lost another 2lbs despite sitting on my ass for most of the week. So obviously the healthy eating is still having some effect even without the exercise.

HKZ, how did the ball go last night? Did you enjoy yourself?

moosemama · 02/07/2010 12:57

Hi Books, cross posted with you.

Dd is the only child in the whole extended family that doesn't like FIL. He is very childlike himself and does lots of silly things and plays tricks etc and is pretty much universally adored by every child he meets. They are very much offended by the fact that she doesn't like him, but there's not a lot I can do about it. He always comes through the door and makes a loud Tarzan-type noise (long story going waaay back to dh's childhood) and when the other gc/neices/nephews/friends dcs etc hear it they come running to play with him. Unfortunately I think its that noise that has made dd frightened of him. She screams every single time she sees him and she doesn't do it to anyone else. They won't believe me though, they think I have over-cossetted her and she is scared of everyone. (Mind you if they bothered to visit more often they'd know that wouldn't they. )

Dd has absolutely refused all attempts at getting her to nap today. She is so tired and being very naughty with it. While I was on the phone to the doctors she rubbed all her apple slices through the lounge carpet.

Completely knackered from lovely Year 11 NRA and leavers ball, followed by a day with a load of 15 year olds racing round an outwards bounds centre!

Hows the hangover 120? Its my dad's 85th b'day tomorrow so we are off to see him and I am not sure if we will stay the night or come back, so will have to play it by ear a bit for meeting up on ~Sunday.

Chef, seriously....pregnancy spanx? I guess just to smooth everything out...I just had to wear them last night as emergency measures..nothing fitted...and am at the stage of pregnancy where I just look, um...a bit fat! Will not be wearing them again til post baby.

too tired to remeber what was written...gah...am rubbish!

moosemama · 02/07/2010 19:56

Sleep well 120, hope you feel better in the morning.

Glad you enjoyed the leavers ball HKZ. Outwards bounds though!

Well my happiness at losing another 2 lbs was shortlived, when a dress I bought off ebay as a possible for this flippin' wedding turned up and I made the mistake of trying it on. Lovely dress - unfortunately just not lovely on me. Really put a downer on the rest of my day that did.

Have ordered another from ASOS, but am not going to link as its a bit unusual for a wedding and am worried you will all hate it. Should be arriving in the next few days and am praying that it looks better on me than todays' dress did.

Mind you, at this rate I'll be wearing a lovely pair of multi-coloured, ancient crocs with a huge hole in the sole as that's all I can get on my foot.

Just ate yet another plate of salad and low fat cottage cheese. No chance of me breaking the diet now I've seen how hideous I look in girl clothes.

Hey Dog- chin up, nice to hear from you, whatever you have to say!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

That is the biggest sigh in the world which was emitted from me when about 5 o'clock I realised that there was no urgent tea to cook, kids to bath, or stories or bedtimes to do......Till SUNDAY!!

Seriously, missing my babies but enjoying a big fat glass of wine and the prospect of a lovely bubbly bath and wake free night! And then the excitement of wedding with loads of old friends tomorrow and meeting 120 (possibly HKZ) on Sunday!

moose- I bet the dress wasn't too bad, did you ask DH for an opinion? Hope your foot is better in time though!

Can't remember much else, bit blurry as my glass is half empty

Please pray ladies that I don't get too shit-faced and am able to pace myself tomorrow................really don't want to feel unwell the next day but want to enjoy myself IYSWIM!

See you all sunday, have good weekends xx

moosemama · 02/07/2010 21:09

Dog ((hugs)) don't disappear, come and moan at us, we are here for you.

Pat, both dh and my mother said "its not that bad" . Then qualified it by saying they meant its a nice dress and looks ok on, but its not 'the one' for the wedding. I disagree, they were just being 'nice' and it looks bloody awful. All down to my stupid gargantuan chest. It just wouldn't sit right no-matter how I adjusted it. Hopefully, if I carry on losing weight it will look better soon. Can't return it as it was an ebay bargain, bnwt.

Have a fantastic weekend, you work so hard, you really deserve a break.

teaandcakeplease · 02/07/2010 21:15

If someone offered to give you £500 for a holiday, a good friend, what would you choose? They won't take no for an answer and are good decent people. Butlins? Or something else?

Please help me, I haven't had a proper holiday since 2005 pre children and don't have a clue.

teaandcakeplease · 02/07/2010 21:41

Just read all the older posts on the thread I missed and do not have a clue at all Books why you got your post deleted

I'm nice I am and wouldn't have taken it the wrong way

Totally totally confused about messages from you and a new one being written without certain wording Couldn't see the new one, or did I miss something?

MissJ

So I am just filling up my Boden sale basket and then I discover there is a Frugi sale too and I have a 20% off Green Baby email sat in my inbox. Argh! Thankfully I think I've missed all the best bits on Frugi.

Fab news on scan HKZ.

We've had sad news, a good friends DS has a brain tumour and another on his spinal cord. They operated straight away but it is bigger than expected and couldn't all be removed. Started chemo already (only diagnosed on Friday). Very sad, he's same age as DS.

Dog - not long now, OH be finished on this job soon too, that'll help.

teaandcakeplease · 02/07/2010 22:00

Still slightly freaked by the standoffish comment at 12.45. Am I, was it about me?

I would have been oblivious to the deleted message, you could actually have completely gotten away with it as I hadn't been on mumsnet for so long

Butlins, I just did some quotes on there, it is expensive stuff.
