Tree, dh is home and has just reminded me that he bought himself an alpenstock (walking stick) to help him balance when he had labrythitis. Might help stop you walking into doorframes if you could get hold of one.

teaandcakeplease · 09/07/2010 14:25

What was more horrible was all the others in the queue for CCJ's, small claims etc and all ear wigging as I did it at counter. All the unwashed of Watford

I'm ok just about to make some of 120's brownies and a banana cake as I have some bananas going rather ripe. Baking always helps me feel better

moosemama · 09/07/2010 14:50

Good idea Tea, I was going to suggest doing something nice this afternoon to balance out the day, but thought you might think I wasn't being understanding or was being flippant.

I want chocolate brownies and banana cake. Eat some for me.

treedelivery · 09/07/2010 15:05

Oh Tea.

Dedicate this weekend you& your new family unit. The three of you, what a team.

Baking an ideal start.

I can't wait to get the kids back I haven't enjoyed a thing I would normally gag for - an empty house.

moosemama · 09/07/2010 15:14

Tree I am exactly the same, desperate for some time without the kids, then miss them like crazy and want them back as soon as they're gone.

That said, dh has just gone for the boys and I am contemplating hiding for the rest of the afternoon. I feel a bit too delicate for boisterous boys this afternoon. Am thinking possibly a loooong bath then retire to my bed.

They won't even notice I'm not here if they've got Daddy - its such a novely for him to be here when they come home from school.

Dd hasn't napped yet today and she is literally falling over herself with tiredness. Not much chance of her sleeping once her brother are home either, unless they go on the computer for an hour.

Hmm, yes, the more I think about it - the more hiding seems like a good plan.

teaandcakeplease · 09/07/2010 15:58

2 cakes baked and washing up done and now dinner in the oven but I am now soooooo hot! Oh well need to make a flan later too. I'm off to my brothers 40th tomorrow and it's a bring and share buffet An excuse to cook me thinks

Moose I'll need your Madeira cake recipe soon I suppose, DD's birthday still awhile away though (28th July)

teaandcakeplease · 09/07/2010 17:18

I'm starting to think I've got it all wrong on allowing DD to wear a nappy at nap time, as sometimes it remains on after the nap, for a while, as I forget to take it off. She's had several accidents this afternoon and I keep thinking, is it because she forgets she now has knickers on?

tinktellyaddict · 09/07/2010 17:26

oh no moose sounds horrid sorry for horrid nite and day

and you tree

you are both going thoruhg the mill

and you tree baking sounds great

teaandcakeplease · 09/07/2010 19:50

How are you both tonight Tree and Moose? Any improvement or are you both still feeling awful?

I am sooooo hot! Scorchio in this flat tonight.

moosemama · 09/07/2010 20:10

Hi Tink and Tea

Still much the same. Have had a bath and feel better for it, but same thing happened, as soon as I sat/stood up the world started to spin and everything went silver.

Seriously hoping I'm better by tomorrow as I really need to get out of the house this weekend. Am going stir crazy having only seen the inside of my house and the hospital this week.

Haven't been to check, but am sure our bedroom is tropical again - fortunately the living room is nice and cool as it doesn't have any sun after about 10.00 am and only has one external wall.

Have just had to construct yet another complaint letter to the school in relation to their treatment of ds1. His home contact book, which was set up to help us build his self-confidence and improve his negative feelings about school, has been used by his maths teacher as a threat today and then she wrote in it about him not performing very well in today's lesson and how she expects better of him, She shouldn't even know he has a HCB fgs, its confidential and should only be seen by his form teacher and us. This comes after his useless teacher managed to lose the first HCB after less than a week! Apparently it was on her desk and it just disappeared. Honestly! Anyone could have it, his bullies could have read it or it could have been passed around the other children or parents for all we know. Its like reading someones private diary - am fuming!

Roll on the holidays!

teaandcakeplease · 09/07/2010 20:15

That is awful No wonder you're fuming.

Take it easy Moose, shame you can't borrow a wheel chair Sit DD on your lap and your H pushes you Then you'd get some fresh air tomorrow.

moosemama · 09/07/2010 20:39

Thank Tea.

Have typed the letter to get it out of my system until Monday morning, otherwise it would have affected my whole weekend.

Feel daft enough in this space-boot, would feel like a big fat fraud in a wheelchair.

Been reading up on the type of break I have and have found out its one of the slowest bones in the foot to heal. Every chance I will have to keep the boot on after my appointment in 2 weeks, which means I will still be wearing it when we go on holiday, although I should be weight bearing again by then at least and hopefully won't need the crutches.

Should make for an interesting tan - that is if I can actually get onto the beach lugging this thing.

Hi Dog,

Yep, we've heard of them. They are very swish and high spec, but not so good on petrol/diesel (20-30 mpg), and have often been hammered, but, being Toyota, they do tend to go on and on.

Dh says that if anything does go wrong though, you are looking at BIG bucks as the parts are astronomical to buy.

There is an owners club type thing here that has details of different models and specs, frequently asked questions, owners experiences and reviews on it (link bar down the left hand side of the page).

Also it might be worth having a look on Honest John. Its a really good site for researching potential car purchases, dh uses it a lot.

Hope I remembered everything there. Typed it once then somehow managed to close the tab I was in.

Can't bear this pain tonight, its horrible.

You are very welcome Dog. You should be able to get an awning that fits. There are literally hundreds available. You'd need to check whether or not it has a gutter on the roof and choose the right fitting. You would be looking for a drive-away awning.

Dd self weaned at the end of May/beginning of June (can't remember exactly) I was doing don't ask/don't refuse and one Sunday she asked in the morning and that was it, she never asked again.

I've got cocodamol, and extra strength ibuprofen, but hate the way the cocodamol make me feel (all drugged up and spaced out) and I have to go to bed within half an hour of taking them. (Of course there's the whole constipation side-effect to take into consideration as well!)

treedelivery · 09/07/2010 22:20

treedelivery · 10/07/2010 19:02

HI all.

Had a really bad/quite nice day. Dunno what to make of life sometimes.

Waves to all.

moosemama · 10/07/2010 19:26

Hi Tree, hope you are feeling a bit better.

Was the day was bad because you are so poorly, but good because you got to spend it with your family and were well looked after?

I have reach frustration point after being stuck in the house so long. Hinted and hinted at dh that I needed to get out today, but he was intent on making me lie on the sofa with my roboleg in the air.

Ds1 has been a proper so and so to his brother all day and dd has sussed that I can't chase her.

Still my ASOS dress has arrived, and I am now torn between that and the green silk one for the wedding.

Am seriously tempted to go for the ASOS one here (looks at its best on the catwalk) with some of these a pewter coloured shrug and haematite jewellery.

I love the combination, but am not sure if I have the confidence to carry it off. The couple who are getting married are desperate for me to wear tall DMs, but they want me to wear these!

Dunno, might be fun, but then again, I might end up feeling like a complete and utter idiot.
