haaaa - thats better!!

last nite, we had my DP's cousin at our house with his wife and 2 kids... there were 1.5 yrs old and 4.5 yrs old (i thought she was 6!! as she takes after her Dad who is 6.5).. anyway got to know them and had a lovely evening.. i went upstairs to get babas bodysuit ready for bed as she was worned out playing with them two.. i came back downstairs and my baba let out an almighty scream (everyone was in the living room with baba), what had happened was the 1.5 yrs old bit babas hand and baba just stood there in her playpen in shock and suddenly WWWWAAAAAAAIIIIILLLLLLLL (awww poor thing!)

ive gotta go as baba is tired and need to put in bed for her nap (cant you hear her?!)

once she got the runs, i give her bland foods etc scrambled egg, or porridge etc and she seems to clear up for couple of days till she have it again !

Well I spent yestaday at a health spa relaxing (bday pressie from DH), which was great but back to reality with a bang today, I can cope pretty well with 3 kids EXCEPT when it is pissing down, DS1 got paint on my cream sofa, so not a good day!
No advice on the runs i'm afraid, we definately have the other end of the spectrum here, DS1 still eats for England including weetabix for brekkie every day. He can now do nude crawling but still hasn't worked out how to do it with his clothes on! He had his first ride on a train on Saturday, I'm pretty sure it passed him by but his brother and sister were impressed.

maisiemog · 22/08/2005 21:24

Woooohooo! Naked crawling! Nasty clotheses!
When did he start crawling??

Riebee · 23/08/2005 10:42

naked crawling hey . I take ds3 clothes off and he loves to crawl in the buff. It's soo cute seeing his big bum waggling from side to side...going to take photo for future embarrassment factor
Hotmama...I wouldn't say you were neurotic, 3wks is quite a long time for the runs. My doctor advised scrambled egg when ds1 had runs. Could it be the prune brekkie stuff? does she eat a lot of it?
maisiemog..ds3 quite often has cereal twice a day, he loves porridge and it fills him up a treat.

he has started to wave hello and goodbye, I love it and (sound of fanfare) he is not feeding as much in the night, still waking up a lot but not expecting boobie to get back to sleep...a bit of a breakthrough. Seems to have cut down on his afternoon feed the last two days so don't know if that has made any difference. Now I'm fretting that he's going off me.Ha!
Do you know I hate calling him ds3 will have to think of another name..he is rather like a monkey so maybe monkey boy or chimp.mmm I shall have a think

maisiemog · 23/08/2005 13:40

Yeah ds3 - bit impersonal. What next? Change the kitchen and bathroom name to room2 and room3 etc... If you are at work you could change your colleagues' names to c1, c2 etc...

Bellie · 23/08/2005 18:28

Hi all - glad to see that we are still going strong! Sorry about those baba's with the runs though.

Not been around for a while as had a phone call in the middle of my friends hen weekend to say that my dad was in ICU as he had a heart attack. Needless to say came home grabbed some clothes and dd and dashed to cornwall where I have been ever since. He is now stable and had angioplasty and seems to be on the mend. He is the last person that I thought would have a heart attack although it appears that it is heriditory rather than lifestyle. And apparently there is nothing I can do to check me out other than have an angiogram at a cost of about £2,500!! (NHS don't fund preventative corionary care).

Still the good news is that it appears that dd has got used to being dragged around hospitals and everywhere else and now is eating like a professional rather than the fussy girl she was before - eveery cloud has a silver lining then!

biglips · 23/08/2005 19:11

oh bellie - i hope your Dad be ok, im sending you and your Dad some vibes hugs {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}.. and hope youre ok too?

OP posts:
Bellie · 23/08/2005 21:10

Thanks biglips - yes I am ok although tired mum doesn't drive outside of the village that they live so it was backwards and forwards to the hospital all the time.
I am sure that dad will be fine - he is just struggling to adjust to the fact that he can't as much anymore until he gets his strength back and even then he will need to be careful!

maisiemog · 23/08/2005 22:21

Sorry to hear about your dad Bellie.
It's good news that he is recovering well.
And your dd will soon be eating tripe and liver like a good girl.

florenceuk · 24/08/2005 11:54

Hi bellie, virtual hugs and good to hear your dad is on the mend. And good to hear DD is eating well - I know how stressful non-eating babies are...

Riebee · 24/08/2005 19:10

Hi Bellie..I hope your Dad is on the mend... my Dad had exactly the same thing. I got a call during my hen night and he missed my wedding as he was unable to fly from his home in Crete.. This will be 2 years ago in February and I can honestly say he has never been fitter. His blood pressure is that of a much younger man (he's 58)in fact its lower than it has been for years and he takes much better care of himself. He really did improve very rapidly after his angioplasty and was cleared to fly in the June after his attack. we get on so much betternow as he has really mellowed since it all happened and is a much nicer person to be around a bit of a drastic way to improve relations though!
Sending healing vibes your Dads way

geogteach · 24/08/2005 19:45

Sorry to hear about your dad bellie, noticed you hadn't been around.
well the crawling has really taken off now, baby geog is jogging (been waiting to say that ) today he has eaten a page of the A-Z, got far to close to the oven (not on luckily)and fallen asleep sitting up in his cot, I have a feeling the trouble is about to begin, his brother and sister are not going to be so impressed with him wrecking their games

Bellie · 24/08/2005 21:47

Thanks for your all your good vibes. Riebee thanks for sharing your dads story with me - it does help to know that others are fighting fit afterwards. It was so scary at the time as dad has never even been off work ill for the past 20 years and then 4 months into his retirement this happens!!

DD let go of the furniture today and walked 6 steps to me - I'm not sure who was more shocked me or her and now she is trying it all the time - not always with success and now has bruises to show for it! Not even 'crawl-proofed' the house yet and now I have to 'walk-proof' it !!

maisiemog · 24/08/2005 22:28

Woohoo! It's all happening isn't it???
Geo's ds is naked geogging (groan) Bellie's dd is WALKING! Biglip's baba is escaping from her walker.
Just think 9 or 10 months ago they were just lying about like little tiny blobs.

biglips · 24/08/2005 22:50

oh fab bellie - im bet you was shocked .... i cant WAIT for mine to start walking as then its less pressure off my back

geog - baba is jogging!!!! i like that!

OP posts:
biglips · 24/08/2005 22:51

riebww - gald that your Dad is fitter than he was before as it must've of been a shock to him (and to you of course!)

OP posts:
biglips · 25/08/2005 19:15

im just listening to baba in her cot as she had woken herself up 10 mins ago and she is laughing and gabbing to herself (Awww, bless her!)

2day at the playcentre DD really took on this other baba who is about 14 months old and is more or less identical as my DD, DD was sharing her little plastic orange with this other baba and was hugging each other and gabbing to each other in baby language of course - i said to the mother "awww, she found herself a friend" ---- awww it was so sweet as it made my heart melt

Slave2Babe · 25/08/2005 20:38

Bellie · 25/08/2005 21:19

wow!!! fab to get it on video and get it on video!!
The fun now starts!!

biglips - baba will start soon and your back will recover!!

maisiemog · 26/08/2005 00:35

Aaah to all the babies being cute. Biglips babies are so drawn to each other.
Alfiepog was pursued around a material shop today by some twins, saying 'baby, baby, baby... He was half asleep, so it was lost on him.
Slave2babe, that is sooooooo gorgeous, she is so cute, what a little lamb. I love the kind of wedding march style of walking she has.
How old is she now?
Riebee, did you decide on a monkey name yet? I meant to ask if you are from Crete?

biglips · 26/08/2005 10:09

awww, she is ssoooooo cute with her gorgeous curls, ill have to get a update photie on here this weekend and may hope to get a video of her too

OP posts:
maisiemog · 26/08/2005 12:50

Hear hear! It's time for updated photos all round I reckon.
I'll get one of me and AP soon.

Riebee · 26/08/2005 16:25

wow all these babes on the move.

maisiemog ds3 is going to be chimpy.. No I'm not from Crete my parents decided to move out there a couple of years ago. I miss my Mum so much . It has been especially hard having chimpy, I feel they have missed so much. Hurry up easyjet, get those cheap flights going!

I will to try to get a photo on soon, the last one, chimpy was 6 wks old....seems like yesterday.
He has been learning to balance today by letting go of one hand whilst holding on to his cot, the results were a bit disasterous. His new thing for the week is pointing at everything, it's like he's suddenly discovered he has a finger and he can use it for a variety of uses...quite often up his nose

Riebee · 26/08/2005 16:29

slave2babe...love the video...will have to have a go when chimpy walks

Bellie...meant to say my Dad got ill just a few months after moving out to Crtte to retired. It's weird that the body should pick that time to malfunction, when you are your most relaxed for years.

Bellie · 26/08/2005 18:19

Riebee - must be to do with the fact that all that stress that was obviously holding the body together is no longer there when they retire!
