october 04 - nearly 10 months!

haaaa - thats better!!

last nite, we had my DP's cousin at our house with his wife and 2 kids... there were 1.5 yrs old and 4.5 yrs old (i thought she was 6!! as she takes after her Dad who is 6.5).. anyway got to know them and had a lovely evening.. i went upstairs to get babas bodysuit ready for bed as she was worned out playing with them two.. i came back downstairs and my baba let out an almighty scream (everyone was in the living room with baba), what had happened was the 1.5 yrs old bit babas hand and baba just stood there in her playpen in shock and suddenly WWWWAAAAAAAIIIIILLLLLLLL (awww poor thing!)

ive gotta go as baba is tired and need to put in bed for her nap (cant you hear her?!)

baba is stil crawling though but she can walk but she cant be bothered!!

btw - we had a talk with mum monday gone to say that its not working out with her being here so yesterday she had put her name down for a council/housing ass for her to live closer to her family and her work too.. but last nite i felt so mean for telling her that its not working out but it gonna have to be soon or later that she put her name down for a house (1 bed).. so we are still talking which is good.

Biglips - this time last year I was having contractions but dh didn't believe me as it was 3 weeks early. Of course he is the expert and I don't know anything - only had 3 kids before!

just measured baba and she is 81 cm long... she had grown 5 cms for the past 2 months.. is that fast or normal?

havnt got a clue dont measure dd that much, know shes growing tho coz have to keep buying new clothes!!!!

my baba is very active (she was the same when she was inside me and midwife couldnt keep up with her to listen to her heart on the microphone thingy) as she is on the go on the time. She is nuts, very loud, very strong (plus she is big and tall for her age).
yesterday at the playcentre, she crawled over a 8 months old small baby boy who was learning to crawl and my baba just trodded (crawled over) on him but he was ok.

And these 2 mums were holding their little ones, my baba just barged (crawled) thru between them and one of the mums said jokingly "look who is barging thru"!!!

i find it funny but she doesnt understand not to squash the poor baby boy!

also she is called a "livewire" by my HV!... and last week a nurse said that my baba is very social

Happy Birthday to all the birthday babas!!

DD was born on 31st (Halloween) and I'm already getting excited about it! Trying to find an outfit for her to wear - was thinking of dressing her like a pumpkin - or maybe I could find one big enuff and cut a whole for her head to stick out (hahaha I'm only joking but the picture in my head is funny)!

She's sleeping at the moment so I'm enjoying some peace. DP is out at footy so just me and my cuppa (and the Hollyoaks rerun on E4). Bliss!

my dd was due 31st but came 22nd, 3 weeks to go and counting down, pressies all brought but still looking for black patent shoes in size 2 (if anyone has any to spare let me know) and a pink long sleve t-shirt/vest, she got a lovely hand embroidered white dress with 3/4 length bloomers it look so cute! hehe i all excited but also upset coz she growing up so fast!!!

poor baba is full of cold today as thats why she wouldnt go asleep until midnite and was doing a choke coughing!! as she was flat out at 8.30pm and i thought "Great, we will be able to watch a movie and have a smoochie together" FAT chance of having that - oh well

so my mum and baba are now coughing and spluttering (no thanks!) and my DP is hiding in the bedroom

Afternoon everyone!

DD has her birthday on Wednesday the 5th October, but she had her birthday party for family and close frends yesterday! How weird to be making birthday goodies - got a fab princess cake from M&S. DD was an angel She had a 2hour sleep before the party began - dp was under strict instructions not to let dd fall asleep before her lunch - worked a dream.

DD had lego, bath toys, puzzles, money box and cash - will get my present on Wednesday when it is her birthday. My mum bought a handwash monsoon dress and cream angora cardigan - I did say so these can be washed at 40 degrees and tumble-dried then? DM said they were for special occasions! They are nice though.

Feel all emotional that my little girl is nearly a one-old - could be pregnancy hormones.

Hope you are all well.

this is my halloweens nickname atm!! as its biglips of course!!

hotmama - it was quite emtional for me too but i didnt cry though. baba is happy with her activity walker as she cant stop using the phone and saying "Hiya" but the phone is on her shoulder and not on her ear!!

good job chimpy's birthday is the 28th as I am very disorganised...I'm just hoping the cake will make itself. Hoping to get his wheely bug sorted this week.
Spookylips... dd sounds very much like my chimpy. he is pretty tall and big for his age and when he decides he's going somewhere he takes the most direct route never mind who may be in his path. When we last went to baby group he just sat down on top of this other baby as if he wasn't there at all. also very sociable when we are at home he can be quite whingey but the minute we are amongst people he's all teeth and fluttering eyelashes and every coos 'ooh what a happy baby' (if only they knew)
Well it seems that everyone I know is pregnant and I have to be honest and say it makes me really it's really stupid and it's not like I haven't got children but it almost made me cry today when I found out someone I know is pregnant.I find it hard to accept that I won't be doing the baby thing ever again...this really is quite a revelation considering that when chimpy was born I swore I would rather walk on hot coals than do it again and was even offering to do a DIY vasectomy on dh

my dd is 1 on the 22nd and i will be crying i know it, but i may well be pg as well so that wont help (hehe fingers crossed, testing tomo) sorry got sidetracked anyway, she got a really big party planned as we both have lots of family, hope it all goes well on the day!!!!

as for your ds Riebee, my friends ds (16mth and about 25lb) decided he was gunna use dd (11mth and 17lb) as a hobby horse and ride on her back when she crawled, if is wasnt for the fact she was laughing while face down in the carpet i might have stopped him! lol!

Happy birthday to all the October babies ! My baba not 1 until 22nd (he was 2 weeks late!) Can't believe it was a year ago that I was wandering around waiting for my contractions to start (was worried wouldn't recognise them when they started - fat chance !) Would love to try for number two but am worried that I wouldn't be able to cope...on the other hand all the info in the press re pregnancys over 35 make me worry I should get a move on....also would like some more maternity leave as my job not brilliant at the moment....had to have last week off with sickness bug and beginning to wonder if work and babies mix !

snap birthdays lol but dd was 9days early! had contractions for almost 2 weeks before lol so i would have been having contractions this time last year! lol

Biglips Alfie has been saying something that sounds like hiya for months, what's that about? I never say hiya?! Maybe your baba phoned him and told him to say it?
Hotmama, was that a bit of reverse psychology you used on your dp? No nap not at all! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
It sounds like a familiar strategy!
Have fun taking your little girls clothes to the dry cleaners!
Now I'm back at work, my dp is having to make Alfie dins and get him ready for bed. He loves putting stupid clothes on Alfie to annoy me. I don't know if anyone has seen "Big Daddy" with Adam Sandler? You know the outfit the kid wears with the collander and diver's flippers - well that's the kind of thing dp favours.
Alfie was born on Halloween, which was nearly three weeks early. I had finised work two days before my water's broke, but then not much happened for a while.....Eventually poor old Alfiebums got a ventouse on his head and lay about recovering from the trauma, not feeding properly and heavily jaundiced for months.
I'm so amazed at how well he has picked up, as he was totally behind on all the development stuff up until 6 months. Now he's taking a couple of steps and waving and all sorts. I'm very proud of him, he's just the most adorable gorgeous baby.

Luggs - work and children do not mix until they're about 6! By which time of course ds2 was here. Masiemog, babymole was 3wks early, didn't make it till the start of maternity leave, I was finishing on the Friday afternoon and by 5am on the Friday morning he was here! (Had to get a new bathroom carpet on the Saturday tho)

My little Gracie is one today! How sad am I blubbing taking her out of her cotbed this morning - dp was taking a picture of her - bedhead and everything - nice
