last nite, we had my DP's cousin at our house with his wife and 2 kids... there were 1.5 yrs old and 4.5 yrs old (i thought she was 6!! as she takes after her Dad who is 6.5).. anyway got to know them and had a lovely evening.. i went upstairs to get babas bodysuit ready for bed as she was worned out playing with them two.. i came back downstairs and my baba let out an almighty scream (everyone was in the living room with baba), what had happened was the 1.5 yrs old bit babas hand and baba just stood there in her playpen in shock and suddenly WWWWAAAAAAAIIIIILLLLLLLL (awww poor thing!)

ive gotta go as baba is tired and need to put in bed for her nap (cant you hear her?!)

Masie i've never seen you walking but i'm sure you are very good at it

maisiemog · 16/09/2005 20:08

Normally, yes, but it is Friday night, so...

jbadgirl · 16/09/2005 21:39

Well i havent posted on here for a while but have been keeping up with all your posts, ds doing well had his special chair delivered and he was fitted in it in wednesday. It should do him the world of good and he can strengthen his back and neck and learn to sit upright without slumping all the time. He still hasnt done anymore rolling and certainly isnt moving at all yet. We have a pead app. on monday .... cant wait!!!!! (lol) still waiting for the eye test at the hospital but hoping it will come soon. Play therapy starts again on monday (after the hols) so ds should have come on a little and grown more since they last saw him.

The lady who offered on our flat pulled out but we have since had another offer which sounds more promising. Have been looking around at a few houses and have found one we really like!!!!

Cant think of much else to say apart from im pretty shayyered after another long week at work!

Hope everyone is ok x

jbadgirl · 16/09/2005 21:40

*shattered!

Bellie · 16/09/2005 21:52

momie - yes it is expensive for tiny shoes dd is walking al the time - it also takes ages to go somewhere if she has decided that she wants to walk!! - so I now allow more time and then she doesn't want to walk so I am always early !!
jbad - hope the chair works for for ds and that the paed appointment goes well.

Biglips how has it gone with asking your mum to move out??

biglips · 16/09/2005 22:35

OP posts:
maisiemog · 17/09/2005 11:47

Me I am a first time mummy. Alfiebums is my only baby, but dp keeps telling me that Alfie wants a little sister.
I don't know when he told dp that, because he hasn't mentioned it to me.

mum2sam · 17/09/2005 20:50

Ds has been cruising around the furniture for a while now he doesnt seem to be bothered about walking independently.Has anyone seen one of those wheely bug things thinking of getting ds one of those for his bd as the wheels are meant to move in every direction which makes it easier to control. We've brought ds the vtec walker but ds only walks in a straight line as he cant steer it properly. Hes also very clinging at the mo constanting wanting to be picked up and cuddling into us all the time. Is anyone elses baby going through this stage. Im thinking og changing his name to velcro at this rate lol

mum2sam · 17/09/2005 20:52

Im a first time mummy too, almost tempted to try for another id love a little girl this time.

maisiemog · 17/09/2005 22:26

Hi MumtoSam, we also have a walker thingy and Alfie seems to enjoy it as well, but he can't go far before he runs into something.
He is going through a very clingy phase as well, it's strange to have a little thing like that just looking around for you all the time and being really pleased to see you.Even if I am just on the opposite sofa to him and he is on someone else's knee, he is all smiley and waves at me.
I have to go back to work next week part-time, just in the evenings and on a Sunday, so he will have his daddy, but he is going to have to go to bed while I'm out, so he will have to adjust to dp giving him dinner and putting him down. Should be interesting.

biglips · 18/09/2005 09:12

same here about the clingy bit too as baba had been witg me the whole time since the Summer Hols started as the creche where i usually take her was shut! ... so hope fully be ok next week when they are open. ive decided to buy for babas 1st bday - Vtec walker and a big multi activity cube that got numbers, shapes here you go!

Mommie, please don't worry about no movement - all of my friends children were crawling and my baby only started moving recently (he is 10 months). I was really worried as he was also a late sitter but one day he suddenly started moving and that was it ! I have read that a lot of babies nowdays don't ever crawl and seem to walk a bit earlier instead...something to do with less time spent on their front... A lot of mums can be very competitive which makes you feel worse...you may find your baby is advanced in other areas such as talking and social interaction. Apparently babies like to work on one skill at a time... I met a mum recently who told me her son was 'dentally advanced' because he had a lot of teeth for his age!

maisiemog · 18/09/2005 14:54

Luggs, 'dentally advanced' LOL!!!! What's that about?? Alfie is advanced in the nappy department as we have to change an average of three dirty nappies a day. I win!! Haha!! (not!)
Biglips, I think you are going to have to move to a bigger house if you buy that cube
I think I'm going to buy Alfie an activity mouse, which is very small and put itself away at night.

biglips · 18/09/2005 17:13

thats the first ive heard "dentally advanced"!! (what planet is she on!!)...

ive got a big house anyway so not a problem with that GIANT beanstalk activity cube thing!

OP posts:
Luggs · 18/09/2005 17:27

I know and my poor baba only has two teeth so not even dentally advanced !!

geogteach · 18/09/2005 19:12

Very dentally advanced here - had 6 teeth at 4 months - same 6 we've got now, does that mean we are now dentally challenged?!

cazzybabs · 18/09/2005 19:23

Jbadgirl - how is your little one getting on with the chair? Hope the play therapy goes OK! We would love to see some more photos (hint hint).

Biglips - how is your mum - has she gone back to France?

Grace is at the mo screaming in her cot - she is soo tired, but won't go sleep. She hasn't really had a sleep today. BUT she has learnt to say Mamma - oh it soo cute.

mum2sam · 18/09/2005 20:03

Biglips that activity cube looks great fun! Is anyone trying or thinking of trying for another baby yet?

Ive been quite lucky to spend the first year with ds but I said soon after he was born to mil I would go back to work after his first birthday. Now that its fast approaching im terrified of the thought of leaving him espcially with mil who is hinting to look after him (maybe im the one being clinging lol).Dont get me wrong i have left him when ive gone out for the day or evening but its nice to know you can go home if you want to where as with work your there until the days ends.Im gonna miss his so much ;-(

maisiemog · 18/09/2005 22:30

M2Sam, are you going back full-time? I know what you mean. I don't really like giving Alfie to anyone, unless I'm there. Once I get away though I do appreciate the time, it's just a bit of a wrench to leave him with people. He's such a little lamb, very smiley and happy, except when he falls over, which he does a lot.
Yes Jbad a piccie of your ds would be nice, he is such a cutie.
Geo I think that the only way your ds can redeem himself after becoming dentally challenged (like Alfie), is by growing a moustache, then he will be follically advanced (and a very strange looking baby).

biglips · 19/09/2005 09:39

mum2sam - oh yeah ive always been thinking to have another baba but ive persuade my DP first!

staceym11 · 19/09/2005 10:17

hey, im a first time mum too. dd is 11 months this week!!!! she's got so much stuff for her b.day! i got her a gobble and go hippo, coz she loves peek-a-blocks, and shes got her own little table and chair, and some pull along toys, shes not walking yet (hence the walker) but she can do a bloody fast crawl, and she pulls up, but isnt that bothered by cruising, its much easier to sit down and crawl there! lol

staceym11 · 19/09/2005 10:18

oh and we'r ttc #2! hehe, its fun acctually, keep having to resist the urge to test tho or itl cost me a fortune! would like a boy!

maisiemog · 19/09/2005 20:40

Stacey, we have a gobble and go hippo as well and Alfie loves it, it's a shame that he can only push it a little bit across the sitting room before he runs out of space. I tried it in the hall, which is longer, but it can't make it over the two rugs.
I thought it was a bit fast when I first got it and that Alfie would end up flat on his face all the time, but he seems to have adapted to it.
We would like another baby, dont' mind which gender. It's funny that I initially wanted a girl, now I've had a boy, I think he's so lovely that I don't mind if I have another one.
I have just had a myemectomy, so my tummy is still mending, which means no babies for a wee while.
I'm not sure how long it is best to wait, but it's only been two months, so probably a bit too soon.
I think a good time to have a baby would be Spring. Then you would be pregnant whilst it was cold (so you don't get too hot) and you would be able to go out with the baby and not spend too much on heating and stuff, as it would be warmer.
Mind you if you fancy a Spring baby you had better get your skates on.
