last nite, we had my DP's cousin at our house with his wife and 2 kids... there were 1.5 yrs old and 4.5 yrs old (i thought she was 6!! as she takes after her Dad who is 6.5).. anyway got to know them and had a lovely evening.. i went upstairs to get babas bodysuit ready for bed as she was worned out playing with them two.. i came back downstairs and my baba let out an almighty scream (everyone was in the living room with baba), what had happened was the 1.5 yrs old bit babas hand and baba just stood there in her playpen in shock and suddenly WWWWAAAAAAAIIIIILLLLLLLL (awww poor thing!)

ive gotta go as baba is tired and need to put in bed for her nap (cant you hear her?!)

Hello all..just had a quick scan through all the post not had much time and no brain this week to take it all in so sorry if I'm repeating myself here.
Chimpy is having a bonfire party (whether he wants it or not ) We've got about 25 people coming and they have all been asked to bring a rocket so lots of lovely fireworks that we can all ooh and arrh to.
We had a 8-12mths check at long last and chimpy is weighing in at a hefty 26lbs (who ate all the pies) He's now walking along the furniture and has been teething all week, a case of very bad timing as his daddy has been away all week and now he has a gibbering wreck of a mummy who can barely string together a coherent sentence.
Have decided to get him a ride on ladybird thang for his birthday..I think it could the wheely bug mum2sam was on about. anyway it comes in two sizes 1-3yrs and 2-5yrs and I'm opting for the latter for my chimpy chubster.
Is anyone elses little darling breaking things left right and centre?
Chimpy's breakage list so far:
1 pair of sunglasses
1 large bottle of pimms on the kitchen floor
1 bedside lamp
1 chunky glass vase in the bathroom

The last two items were both today

On the baby front... I would secretly like another boy to make 4 but dh has said no. Have got a few friends expecting their 1st and I'm quite
Hope everyone is well

mommie · 19/09/2005 20:58

saw a great moving musical ball at the ELC today which i have bought for friend's baby for his 1st birthday. mine is getting a front facing car seat - how boring is that

maisiemog · 19/09/2005 21:08

Riebee aargh that's a lot of stuff. So far Alfie has only attempted breakage, he loves to drop cup on the floor, but luckily they don't have far to fall and it's quite a thick carpet, so they just go 'doing' (which is probably why he does it. )
Do you think Chimpy will like fireworks? We were all set to go to the big firework display at the end of the festival (here in Edinburgh), but I was a bit wary of Alfie's reaction, as he is scared of the vacuum cleaner. It's a great excuse not to clean, but the carpet is covered in stuff now, so it's not the best phobia to develop. Anyway, in the end we were all too knackered to go, so I didn't find out how he would feel about huge explosions
We currently have a pet moth, it has been living in the bedroom, moved to the bathroom, I relocated it to the hall and it currently resides next to the kitchen sink. What do moths eat? Is it starving to death?

Ribee we have the cow (wheelie bug) and dd2 loves it - she oushes it around and because its on carsters she does handbreak turns the lot - it is soo funny.

Grace has broken soo many things, espcailly has she loves getting things out of the kitchen cupbaords and dropping them - pryex jugs, glass jars with stuff in, beer bottles - oh god I could go on.

Rickman you have every sympathy -you don't sound crazy mad woman. I really don't know how you do it - I thing 4 kids on your own you are amazing!
I am still BF Grace - she has EBM at nursery and then feeds morning and night! I love feeding her (most of the time), but hate expressing!

I'm still b/f and doesn't look like I will be giving it up anytime soon....should I rephrase doesn't look like chimpy will be giving it up anytime soon, I relly don't think I have any say in this matter

We are in teething hell, chimpy has been really screaming his head off with this tooth, I really hope it comes soon. He's hardly eating anything so I'm feeding him a bit more here and there, routine has gone to pot...good for the waistline though my size 12 jeans are loose for the first time in about 5yrs yippee...if only i didn't look like death warmed up!!

rather amusing moment in the other day. I've been going to baby signing classes and when we were bathing together chimpy kept prodding my boobs and making the sign for milk. He was very pleased with himself, I had to cover them with a fannel in the end. Just hope he doesn't start doing it in public like on meet the fockers

biglips · 20/09/2005 17:50

mine is teething atm too but shes not too bad but just diving for the nearest blanket and stinks her teeth in for relieve!!

i wish baba stop taking her bottoms off and her nappy off too in the playpen so better go check on her again!

SLEEPING ROUTINE -

my old routine - wakes baba at 9am till 1pm, have 2-3 hours nap, stayed awake till 10 -11pm..then bed

my new routine - ive been waking up earlier (for the past 3 weeks) in the week at 7 - 7.30am till 12 -1, have 1.5 hours nap in the day then later on she start to get sleepy about 7pm BUT as soon i give her milk to knock her out completely she wakes up and stays up till 10pm.

it doesnt make any different if i let her have 1.5 hours nap or 3 hours nap in the afternoon, she still fall asleep at 10pm !!

What a clever chimpy! Signing for milk! He doesn't really need to know that many signs at his age and that is one of the most useful, that and poops and eats. I mean he doesn't need to know the sign for "I need the toilet" or "can I have a bunch of flowers for mummy please" or anything like that yet.
Alfie used to go to bed late and then he started waking earlier and earlier, so I moved his bedtime back until he was going at around 7-8pm. He still woke up at night, but had at least one 6 hour stretch of unbroken sleep.
He too has been refusing to go to sleep recently, but then it catches up and he has a couple of early nights.
He currently enjoys pulling the plug out when he is having a bath and sticking his fingers down the plughole.
What do they actually do at a baby signing class?

biglips · 20/09/2005 20:48

maisie - mine just sits there and stare at the plug hole when its makes the noise of the water goes down... what i know about baby signing classes is mostly singing

Rickman - I have been taking dd for signing classes since she was 5 months old and she started signing at 8 months. Keep trying!!

biglips · 20/09/2005 21:35

what a great thread! just sat here and read it all! im technically a nov 04 mum but its always a bit quiet! Really enjoyed reading all your developement bits ! hope you dont mind if i gate crash oct! I have a dd first one and already im strangely broody again!

dd aka chipie (all children in family referred to as chipie, no idea why?)is just soo funny at the moment, always grunting as we go around sainsbury!only place she does it.She is also into doing lots of vigorous head nodding. First definite word(kind of) HOO! the cat is HOO when ever she sees her. Poor lily (our very old cat) her tranquil life is about to change forever, shes started sleeping in the attic.

left her in cot for oh 3 secs tonight while i checked bath and returned to find her and cot covered in poo, she was very pleased with her self! i groaned slightly as full time c

Buddhamummy · 20/09/2005 21:45

whoops! note to self, always check posting first...... meant to say groaned at poo covered baby as i am a nurse and seem to have had my fair share of poo dealings lately...ho hum!

Buddhamummy · 20/09/2005 21:47

dh is watching dvd about hiltler! why are men so obsessed with ww2? or is it just mine?

jbadgirl · 20/09/2005 22:00

Hi guys, put another pic on.... my ickle boy!

Has grown up so much cant believe he is nearly a year!!! Where has all the time gone?

Our pead app was awful, she did praise us tho. She was just saying that where parts of his brain are damaged, certain things will never improve and his head hasnt grown in 4 months so his brain isnt growing properly. But our praise was that other babies like him have all had gastric tubes and "button's" in their tummies but ds hasnt and that we have coped well given his feeding probs!!

We went out shopping and bought him some early birthday pressies and a new hat for winter, its a bit big but it is still 0-3 MONTHS!

maisiemog · 20/09/2005 23:13

AAAAAAAAAH! Jbad, he is soooo gorgeous. He has the same chin dimple as Alfie - do a lot of people comment on it? Well done to you sorting out his eating problems, I remember you saying he wasn't that keen. How is that going?
Budda hi and welcome. Alfie is really a November baby too, although he was nearly three weeks early.
I was thinking about when he was born this morning and remembering how sleepy he was for weeks. He had jaundice which lingered for almost three months.
Did anyone else have that problem?
Budda, I've heard a lot people talking about the poo thing, poo pictures and the like. It's quite alarming. In fact I've decided to scotchtape on Alfie's nappy from now on.
Biglips Alfie can take off his nappy, as well, he is a cloth nappy boy and he can undo the velcro.
The other day dp shouted 'where's his nappy, didn't you put one on him'
I ran through to find him sitting on dp's lap, smiling, with a bare bum.
I looked around the room and saw his leopard print nappy lying under the TV, where he left it.
'I didn't like it anymore Mummy. Can I have a duck, I'm hungry?'
