haaaa - thats better!!

last nite, we had my DP's cousin at our house with his wife and 2 kids... there were 1.5 yrs old and 4.5 yrs old (i thought she was 6!! as she takes after her Dad who is 6.5).. anyway got to know them and had a lovely evening.. i went upstairs to get babas bodysuit ready for bed as she was worned out playing with them two.. i came back downstairs and my baba let out an almighty scream (everyone was in the living room with baba), what had happened was the 1.5 yrs old bit babas hand and baba just stood there in her playpen in shock and suddenly WWWWAAAAAAAIIIIILLLLLLLL (awww poor thing!)

ive gotta go as baba is tired and need to put in bed for her nap (cant you hear her?!)

Maisemog, i am waiting for the complete strip antics, it runs in our family (as babies i hasten to add). Come from a huge family of girls and me, my sisters, cousins etc all got to about a year and thats it no clothes thank you. my chipie is already helping herself outof her vests and jumpers, when i lift them up a bit to take them off she grabs them and does the rest.

Wow what a clever alfie telling you all those things, or was that the signing .

biglips · 21/09/2005 08:22

welcome Bmummy... mine is technically a Sept baba (19 sept) but was 12 days late (born on 1st oct)

baba was blowing kisses to Daddy this morning as i was teaching her how to do it yesterday so now she kissing her tigger and her baba (more like slobbering )

my dd has got a thing about blowing raspberries on her dolly coz daddy does it to her!!! lol

she got 6 teeth and more are coming i just know it, oh and the mother of all colds which is lovely for a nights sleep! lol

she can cruise but finds crawling quicker, is she the only one that hasnt got the urge to break things??

oh and had a screaming tantrum this morning because mummy wouldnt let her play in the dogs water, so she came and timed out on my lap for a minute, then she went off and forgot all about it, damn i love that method!!! (used to do naughty step but she has tempur tantrums and headbutts the stair gate!!!) naughty dd!

maisiemog · 21/09/2005 12:00

Stacey I think girls are more advanced in those things than boys. Alfie has had one tantrum when I wouldn't let him play with a glass of apple juice, it lasted about 30 seconds, and I started laughing because I had never seen him get cross before. He hasn't had any more, so perhaps I have this to look forward to.
Maybe it's a girl/boy thing? From what my mum says about me and my brother, I was the more demanding and very determined. Alfie is fairly focussed on things but can be distracted if I don't want him to do something and he forgets what he wanted if I move it away. Maybe it's because he's a boy?
Do the other girls have tantrums?
What about you mums with both girls and boys, what do you reckon about the difference in how boys and girls respond to frustration?

biglips · 21/09/2005 13:51

oohhhh yes - the tantrums are here as we just laugh at her and she get sidetracked by summat else bery quickly .. she still got a thing for my big bulky purse and my keys as i have to peel her sticky fingers off them!! oh and her fave yoghurt, im surely she addicted to them as she is not patient at all

OP posts:
staceym11 · 21/09/2005 16:27

well chloe dont forget a tantrum easily, if she cant do what she wants she thinks she knows how to get it, like in tesco if i wont let her grab things off the shelves she bangs her head on the bar in front of her, what a toddler tantrum!

Riebee · 21/09/2005 17:23

Jbad...love the picture soo cut ahwat a lovely dimple. I really must try to put a picture on there.

Rickman...I've been taking chimpy to signing classes since he was 8mths, it took him about 8wks to get an idea of the signing but has been doing it for real for about a month.

buddhamummy..I gave up on the Nov thread...far too quiet.

Biglips...baba must be the first to be the big number 1 on here then. how fast has that gone?!

Riebee · 21/09/2005 18:11

just back from night of pizza and cinema with dh! only about the third time we have done it since dd arrived, felt delicious just the two of us, but both ended up doing impressions of dd all the way home! Just checked on her and shes fast asleep but very sweaty as usual!

maisiemog · 21/09/2005 22:44

Reibee 'soo cut ahwat' to you too. Is that Urdhu?
I was thinking about putting Alfie on a naughty step and I just couldn't see it working. First of all we live in a flat, so it would have to be outside in the main stairwell, bit dangerous. Secondly, I don't think he would have the faintest idea as to why he was on the step and I can't imagine him staying there. I suppose I could tell him he is 'staying in' and is having his pocket money stopped. Blank look.
He is now cutting another tooth, on the night I went back to work part-time. Poor old dp, he got this miserable, over-tired little lump to look after all by himself.

maisiemog · 21/09/2005 22:51

Biglips, swimming is like that. I think it's hypothermia. YOu need a big mug of Horlicks (or something you like).
Budda, we used to speak to each other like Alfie, He used to make this noise like a police radio - when they say 'Over' then the radio goes 'pccccchhh' - that noise.
We used to say that one pccccchhh meant no and pccccch pccccch meant yes.
" Would you like a cup of tea darling?" "pccccch pcccccccccch" "One lump or two etc...

staceym11 · 22/09/2005 10:13

i think we'r all a bit crazy like that, me and dh go out and end up talking about dd! lol

florenceuk · 22/09/2005 19:30

hi everyone haven't posted for ages as have been away - which was lovely, we went to the beach in Sardinia and enjoyed the last of the summer. Even DD liked going to the beach - was desperate to crawl everywhere and eat sand/seaweed/sticks. Good to see everyone is doing OK!

DD is taking her first little steps - she is so pleased with herself! And trying to climb everything/pick at everything (like drawers, cupboards, TV, DVD, bookshelf, papers - whatever she can reach). Not very good on eating front, as she always sees something else on the table she wants rather than what I'm trying to feed her - even if it is actually the same thing (like baked potato and tuna). But still getting lots of BM from me so not too worried. She is still rubbish at sleeping, zzzz. Hard to believe they will all be one soon!!!

KathH · 22/09/2005 20:53

jbadgirl - he's sooooooooooooooooooooooo cute.

Babymole is keeping me on my toes. Nothing is safe. I thought it was cos I'd had nearly a 6 yr gap between ds1 and him but when I asked my childminder, she's been minding for 20 odd years she said no, babymole is a right bugger! Can't believe he's 1 next week, not sorted out any pressies yet but we'd given all ds1's toys away as we weren't planning anymore! He's still crap at sleeping tho - if I'd known he still wasnt sleeping thru at a year I may have committed suicide a long time ago - dds 1 and 2 and ds1 slept thru from about 6 wks.

Hope everyone's ok.

We're off to Lanzarote in 2 wks - am dreading the flight. Babymole doesn't sit still on a 5 min busride so I might be on valium after a 4 1/2 flight.

maisiemog · 22/09/2005 21:33

Kath - Medised! It's so good at knocking them out when they are teething. Or brandy. That should get you through the flight.
Have a fab holiday
We don't have anything planned so far in terms of holidays, but I'm thinking of going somewhere close. There are really cheap deals to Spain in December, I know it's not that warm, but I can't really be bothered chasing Alfie around a beach anyway, he would spend the whole day eating sand and drinking sea water.
Plus Dp and Alfie are both quite pale skinned, so it might be good not to take Alf away anywhere hot until he's a bit older.

staceym11 · 23/09/2005 08:58

same here cant take dd on holiday anywhere too hot jsut yet, shes really pale skinned like me and had to be covered in factor 50 for the summer in this country!!!

biglips · 23/09/2005 09:29

anyone had been watching "Hes having a baby"? as it was on last nite and this fella was bathing one of his twins - boy and girl - was bathing him in the sink as he was small enough to be as a big bath for the baby boy.. dried him and put on a dressing gown and a dummy that was overlapping his nose - aaaawwwwww so cute!!

OP posts:
biglips · 23/09/2005 09:30

the baby is only couple weeks old and is so tiny as i thought mine was never tiny!

OP posts:
staceym11 · 23/09/2005 12:37

it seems like dd was never as tiny as all these babies i see, but she was smaller than most of them, i jsut cant remember!!!!

i cant wait to have a tiddler again!

biglips · 23/09/2005 16:54

awwww - im on cloud nine with my mates newborn baby boy - i want one!! (but not now iykwim!) i wanna a boy.. does that im broody? as im happy enough with my baba but wants to spend time with her before thinking of having another one (i hope - better cross my legs for the next 2 yrs!! !)

OP posts:
staceym11 · 23/09/2005 17:00
