A brand spanking new thread where we can chat about the state of our eggs, SWI, our veg patches and any other topic we fancy

And huge thank you for the allergy info, will read it all after the wedding is over!!

Meglet · 04/06/2010 20:40

carrie yanbu. Have a nice day tomorrow.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 04/06/2010 22:31

Carrie YANBU but it is a big family occasion so.....enjoy tomorrow! Give DD lots of hugs.

Becaroo I only have C (DD) and I was 38 in March just gone and am very overweight myself and have borderline high blood pressure (runs in family). However, I am quite fit, eat stupidly healthily and have done all my life (just eat too much ) and my weight has not really gone up or down in the past 5 or 6 years. i lost all my baby weight quickly but no one seems to take that into consideration at all in the medical profession.
But i want to go for baby No 2 anyway, what the hell.
My biggest issue is money as I earn the most out of DP and I so funding my mat leave will be hard. As one of my RL friends said, when it comes to a new human being you just cope. HIH

becaroo · 05/06/2010 08:29

Oh!!!! Have just realised who you were pre name change!!! sorry!!

Its strange isnt it???? This feeling??? I HATED being pregnant. HATED it. Every time.

Cant afford it, either.

I was talking to thechinese girlfriend of my husbands cousin the other night and she called children "a sweet burden" I thoght that was a really lovely way of describing having children!

Got a long way to go to convince dp. My paents and PIL would probably emigrate!

notcitrus · 05/06/2010 19:51

Hope all goes well at the wedding Carrie!

Saw consultant yesterday - he was charming if mumbly and clearly delighted to see A proving that his advice had worked previously. So I said 'same again please' and he looked at my referral letter, said the tests simply showed I still had PCOS, and prescribed the same drugs again, which I've picked up. A was a delight despite the long day and 7 buses plus a tram and a train ride! Only blip was I let him play on a out-of-order car ride which he loved, turning the wheel and jumping, but eventually had to get him off it...

Am I mean not to tell him that those rides actually move if you put coins in?

Meglet · 05/06/2010 23:08

nc I never told my dc's those things moved if you put money in. My mum was a softy a few months ago (I think it was during the snow when they were trudging the shopping mall) and she let the dc's play on one.

3.6yo DS has only just learnt the music man sells ice cream, and even then he plays the music when he's sold out.

digitalgirl · 05/06/2010 23:43

nc what drugs have you been prescribed? I have an appointment with the fertility clinic on the 17th of June and would love to shorten/regulate my cycles for ttc. Got a bfn today so feeling a bit depressed about the impending first period after miscarriage (and waiting another 4-6 weeks to ovulate again).

StarOfValkyrie · 06/06/2010 00:26

LOL, when our kids are teenagers it will be a thread that's just a string of 'bookmarking'!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/06/2010 13:34

Sorry to hear about the bfn Digi. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your appt on 17th.

How are you doing Meglet? Let us know if you do or don't want to talk about your dad and how you're doing. I know from experience that sometimes it's nice to be faceless and just talk about meaningless 'stuff', and sometimes you want to be able to rant, cry and be upset.

FannyPriceless · 06/06/2010 15:14

digi Thanks for the link on the muslin swaddles - now ordered. And so sorry for your BFN.

Thanks all for the comments about shared ward, etc. I spoke to the ward manager on Friday and it was a bit more encouraging. I had previously been told that I could only transfer to a private room once I was up on my feet, but being in a wheelchair and under a very strict SPD recovery plan, that isn't really on the radar! But the ward manager was really nice and said if all was going OK I could transfer after the first night. Also, the shared ward I'll be in will be just with others who have had c-sections so may be quieter? Last I saw I was the only planned section for Tuesday. Anyway, sorry to babble on - upshot is I'm feeling a lot more relaxed about the whole thing now.

My parents are here now and having a crash course in looking after DD while we're away. It's all a bit hectic and we haven't seen each other for over a year so I'm doing my best to get along nicely. DH told me that apparently I offended Mum this morning when I 'told her off' for turning up without phoning first. Apparently I was a bit harsh. I'll aim for a polite apology when she's back here later. Always the eggshells with this family stuff, isn't it?

The good thing is that DD, after 12 hours of almost total silence and shyness, is now really enjoying being with them, so that's really lovely.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/06/2010 19:51

Glad to hear your folks are here Fanny. My dh always says I speak to my mum harshly, I don't think I do, so maybe it's a habit

When is d-day? Are you feeling a bit more relaxed and ready for it now? Well, as ready as you'll ever be Good news about the ward btw.

DS has been a delight this weekend. He's so curious and loves to copy anything that we do. His speech seems to have come on leaps and bounds the past week or so and he's attempting a lot more words without us prompting him to do so. Our babies are so clever aren't they?

lollyheart · 06/06/2010 21:04

Hello

I am so so sorry to hear about your dad meglet was he in the hospice at our local hospital?

DD calls her bits a fairy boys bits are willy.

Fraser is doing really well, but is a real dare devil, i cant take my eyes off him for one min, he is into everything, he is so different to my other 2.

Very of those who are pregnant, i would love dc4.

Yay at t walking hopefully i tried to look at the pic, has it gone now?

notcitrus · 06/06/2010 22:05

digi - I've got a Provera challenge (pile of progesterone to kick-start a period to happen, 'definitely within a week' so 10 days later last time I did it!). Then for each month on days 2-6 take Clomid to lead to more ovulation. The provera leads to what I suppose is PMT but basically means a few days of wanting to shag everything in sight and having to sit on my hands to ensure I don't grope anyone on the train... somewhat disturbing. MrNC has been warned.

fanny if you're competent at moving about in a wheelchair, and as hospitals have nice smooth floors, it would be against the DDA to use inability to walk to keep you out of a private room. Of course if all CS mothers are kept in the wards that wouldn't apply.

Can you tell that arguing with people who say 'policy says no' is one of my main hobbies?

notcitrus · 06/06/2010 22:26

ION, had BIL and family here last week. DN is less than a year older than A and they got on really well, play-wrestling and bouncing on beds and mostly sharing cars well. A is now pointing out every car on the way home from nursery and expecting me to respond. It's a 10-min walk with parked cars all the way along so a tad tedious.

But 10-week-old neice is adorable and so LIGHT! SIL reassuringly says that going from 1 to 2 offspring is so much easier than 0 to 1, as yes it's hard work but you're used to that by now, and that sense of terror just isn't there the second time round. A and DN kept pointing at her and going 'baby!' but were more interested int he one on the nappy packet as they could poke that baby...

FannyPriceless · 06/06/2010 22:31

nc Thanks for the tip!

lollyheart Great to see you.

beca Yes, the date is this Tuesday.

Meglet · 07/06/2010 08:21

fp good luck for tomorrow! That last day before my planned cs was weird, I didn't each much (as I was nil by mouth anyway at bedtime) and remember making the most of the peace while DS was at nursery. Probably was on MN come to think of it .

becaroo · 07/06/2010 09:56

FP Bloody hell! Didnt realise it was so soon!!!! Blimey! My dsis spent the day before her planned cs cleaning. She is a bit anal though! Sending lots of love xxxx

Debs75 · 07/06/2010 10:12
