Almost forgot...
Reese woke at 3a yelling, "MOMMY IT'S COLD!" as clear as clear could be. I'd been up checking on her from 10p on because of her coughing. When I checked she was BLAZING HOT...101.4*.

I am thankfully she's not too bad and that it's spring break with nothing planned.

LOL was kind of the opposite of chandelier swinging actually, more staying very still and appreciating everything. Just happened we had both been thinking about each other before he came home and we kept up an atmosphere of flirting all evening. Really helps when the foreplay begins several hours in advance iyswim.
Anyway, did I ever tell you about me very occasionally getting colour hallucinations during sex? I've seen lush green jungle, white linen/cotton, black satin and red velvet. Hasn't happened for a couple of years (wonder why) but I got one last night - and it was modern art! My mind's eye was full of Rothko-style very simple, colourful abstract paintings. And then DH revealed that he has occasionally done the whole separate orgasm/ejaculation thing (with me, natch). So, seems we've had tantric sex without even realising it. Be surprised if it happens again any time soon though.

Today is my brother and SIL's 4th wedding anniversary. How I wish they were celebrating somewhere right now. Feel free to raise a glass to them later, I will be.

TwilightSurfer · 08/04/2010 16:38

Buckets Sting and his chica should take notes!

How is it I spend loads of time outside with sunscreen on and not burning BUT yesterday I spent MAYBE 45 minutes crashed out on the patio (WITH sunscreen) and like a heatwave, radiating warmth and redness??? Do you think hormonally there's a change that amps your burnability???

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 08/04/2010 16:39

that should read TODAY I AM LIKE A HEATWAVE...

Well that was a worth while afternoon - NOT!!! We got to my folks and they have recently swapped mums car for my old smaller one which she shared with my sis and decided they would get her her own car as mum is back at work fulltime ATM. SO on Monday dad went out and collected the Ford Fiesta they had bought the ungrateful brat - sis then caught the train home yesterday to go and see her new car to greet my dad with 'oh, I was hoping for something better' Dad ignored and thought nothing else of it. Stupid sis repeated this to a very stressed by work and worried about money mum who had just forked out almost £2000 on car and insurance - and told her that if mum really loved her she would have bought her a brand new car like X's parents! The entire world exploded Mum stormed off, Dad took sis's keys and showed her where to catch the bus, DD and I stood and watched it all. Mum asked if she could come back with us I said yes but she has a meeting tomorrow and so has gone to see a friend and will come back here on Saturday when Dad has left for a work trip. DD and I drove home she is tucked up in her own bed and I am sitting in my pants and baggy t-shirt eating popcorn watching crap on the telly!

Buckets - loving your tantric-ness!

TS - I have cought a little sun today too it got to a whole 19 degrees on the hill!

Sazz - have your guests srrived safely?

oopsandbabycoconut · 08/04/2010 20:02

Ladies - I think I need to go and hide my ranty side, all I seem to have done recently is complain. Sorry I will try and be more positive.

On a happy note DH's best friend's wife had a little girl this afternoon - I am so excited for them he has wanted a little girl since he met DD.

GladioliBuckets · 08/04/2010 20:13

Oh Oops, entirely justified rant there.

I had a semi-hysterical fit at the local farm today. Their overflow carpark was waterlogged and the sunshine had brought record numbers along so they ran a park&ride tractor to a carpark 1m away. Fine I thought, I'll leave the pushchair in the car. But when we were ready to go, no money or snacks left, tired toddler, thirsty mum and 2 increasingly irritating kids, after 10mins waiting I went and asked in the shop and the driver was on his lunchbreak so no tractor for nearly an hour! After I nearly burst into tears a nice farm lady took us in her car with Kurt on my lap. Has somewhat knocked the confidence out of me so no more such grand adventures on my own this holiday.

Oh crap today just gets worse - I have just had a call to say a lady who works in DH's office one day a week has had a massive stroke at home infront of her grandson and DH (he is my Dh's right hand man in the office) We have LO coming to us to wait for his mum to come from London as her DH heads for hospital in Bristol, she was flown out by air ambulance .

Morning all

DD awake at 6.45 demanding cereal and 'where is baby Hector? Let me snuggle her'

Yay for the safe arrival of the Dizzys in the deep dark south. Enjoy your day.

TS - hope R is better this morning and your skin has settled into a lovely brown glow

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/04/2010 07:56

Just had the phonecall I was dreading. Our Lovely Les died at 12.30 last night, life sucks sometimes!

hotterpotter · 09/04/2010 08:22

Oh oops darling I am so sorry

hotterpotter · 09/04/2010 08:51

Also speaking from bitter experience I know it is no consolation that she didn't suffer

Sending my love to you and yours oops

poppysocks · 09/04/2010 08:54

Oh oops, I'm so sorry. What a time you and your DH are having. A side issue now I'm sure but I can entirely sympathise with the spoilt little sis. iirc mine is the same age as yours and pulls stunts exactly like that. She got a car for her 17th but hasn't even bothered to take her theory test yet and it just sits on the drive while she's taxied around . I'm sure real life will hit her at some stage .

Hooray for the dixies having made it to the family sazzles. I ended up doing the journey in reverse with a poxed up DD2 on Tuesday but glad we got home finally. The girls were lost without each other . Pox almost gone now too .

I won't go on with another of my mammouth posts but will say lucky you buckets and hope things pick up at home for loti and TS. Is it worth calling your DH's bluffs and announcing your intention to get a job, forcing them to think about what life would be like without you to attend to the family's (and their!) every whim?

Happy Friday one and all!

hotterpotter · 09/04/2010 08:56

Sorry to have been AWOL since returning from Sazzes but she poisonsed us we have had nasty d&v, first DS then DH and me. Was pretty grim but feeling much better now and looking forward to a day out somewhere. We were hoping for a trip to the seaside, but now DD has found out the sea won't be as warm as in Majorca she doesn't want to go

luckoftheirish · 09/04/2010 09:16

oh oops much hugs ..

sorry you have been so poorly hots glad to hear you are on the mend..

well we are off to sunny somerset at lunch.. car packed to capacity so here is hoping for some lovely sunshine and a mini meet with Ataraxis xxx

Miamla · 09/04/2010 09:41

morning all, DH and I are back! we've had really lovely few days away, back to reality with a bump this morning though. he's stressing about our house smeling (i boiled peas without any water before we left and caused a bit of a mess )

buckets i'm so sorry i didn't ask you if you minded us having songbird. it was a last minute decision and completely forgot to ask you. does it make it any better that i didn't hear any of it?! reallly wish we had a vid of the ceremony

thanks to all my bristol going hairy truckers. and i'm almost certain that there are more names on the list than i said hello to but i can't work out who i missed

off to put the washing machine through its paces

ps sorry, haven't done any catching up other than skimming for wedding mentions

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/04/2010 09:44

Miamla - Welcome back You have been the topic of DD's conversations with EVERYONE this week. They all got told 'N get married, wearing pretty white dress. N have sparkly crown' pretty pretty pretty.'

Miamla · 09/04/2010 09:52

aaah, that's so sweet! even having heard hem both, 'm still astounded at vocab/sentences by minipert and minioops!

actually,, one of my wedding highlights was being told by minipert that dh and i were married and we that we gave each other rings!

it all seems so long ago already....

ataraxis, i'm sorry, i think it was you i didnt even say hello to

cyteen · 09/04/2010 10:58

Welcome back Miamla, glad to hear you all had a good time.

oops sorry for your loss, it sounds very traumatic for all concerned.

Sobbed my heart out last night, today is feeling pretty meh.

Miamla · 09/04/2010 10:58

i suspect i know the answer already but.... houdini DS proudly climbed out of his travel cot and woke us up a couple of mornings ago! We were hoping that he wouldn't be able to get out of his cot here quite so easily, he proved us wrong! The base was at its lowest, and the side at its highest so its time for a bed, isn't it? I have now lowered the side so at least the drop isn't quite so high for him. Although bizarrely he hasn't climbed out since i lowered it

GreenGardenia · 09/04/2010 11:58

cyteen I'm really sorry, must be just shit.

miamla welcome back you bridal beauty, you! Hope honeydays were fun.

oops, sorry for your trouble, in the Irish phrasing .

miamla I got something like this when going to my mum's one time when someone else had the travel cot. Means they can't accidentally roll out, but they can squirm round on their tummies and lower their toes down to the floor if they are actually trying to get out of bed. So might be a good halfway house.

Loti enjoy your Somerset jaunt and enjoy ataraxis and her lovely family. cos didn't get to talk much.

TS you and your dh normally seem to operate pretty well together, each happy in your roles, etc, so I hope you manage to meet in the middle somewhere soon.

dizzy and sazz have a great time together. More of lovely long foresty walks with everyone, hence am keeping my name.

ds2 still not right, generally v lethargic and clingy, went to sleep at 7pm yesterday, after about 2 hrs of sleep by day, up 7.30 and fast asleep again by 11 . Not feverish, just not himself. Perhaps just tired????
