Tumm, you've inspired me to go back for a look and here at 11pm I said 'nothing is happening'... hehe! then I read your posts feeling a bit sorry for you but now, knowing things went great for you later .

went back to April too to read spangles story. I remember how even then it made me cry (happiness).

also made me nostalgic to see names like chocolatebunnies, frazzled, etc. hope everyone we used to chat to and who have now left are ok. I do see frazzled on fb from time to time.

belg, glad C is ok. my H is now a little poorly.

Have any of you done this? she was so clingy, whingy, annoying. I put it down to teething since she had no temp seemed ok. so let her cry as she shuffled round the floor. i needed to get the DDs supper done and couldn't do it holding H. bless her, I finally picked her up when I was finished. cuddled her, and she promptly vomited all over the floor. . she was very sleepy so put her down early but i feel guilty that I didn;t sense her being ill and just discounted her as being annoying.

please tell me i'm not horrible mummy. i've also sprayed a healthy quantity of F words today (hopefully beyond the older dds' ears so feel extra evil. all this and I'm supposed to be good, catholic and holy this week before easter .

tomorrow is another day.
sorry for the mememe. will 'listen' to you now and nc later.

younger- i do that a lot - please don't feel guilty. Especially with DS1 who is rarely ill and doesn't articulate how he's feeling even though he's 2.9. Last weekend he had D&V, and the V came as a big shock and made a big mess of the carpet . It was only after he started to ask for cuddles when he was feeling sick that we realised we needed to get him to the toilet quickly to avoid a mess. I guess cuddles are the things they crave when they are feeling poorly, but I know with S I often think he is just being clingy when he is probably feeling poorly.

I knew i shouldn't have put the champagne on ice. Last night S woke at 10.45, settled really quickly, but then kept waking again and again, until he was probably over-tired and found it hard to setttle. I went up once at around 11.30 but he just wanted milk so it seemed a bit mean, so DH went to him every time he stirred, and he eventually settled at 1.15am . He then slept til 6am then had a sleepy feed and up at 7.30am. Hoping for a better night tonight.

FiByTheIcySea · 01/04/2010 20:25

younger don't you dare feel bad! I've had similar thing with G.. when we're seeing to other dc(s) and the littlest is whingy anyway you sorta get used to them whingeing.. i know exactly how you feel. xoxox

pulapula · 01/04/2010 20:28

How could I have forgotten - Happy Birthday H. What a big boy . Hope you had a lovely day Spangle. about needing the morning after pill and at £25.

FiByTheIcySea · 01/04/2010 20:34

and sorry to hear H is poorly btw xoxox

youngerthanspringtime · 01/04/2010 20:39

thanks Fi and Pula. hoping she's better in the morning, poor little mite. I can't wait to cuddle her again.

Pula, hope sleeping goes better tonight (I'd really like some champers ).

got a few hours of work now but not sure how long I'll last...

flippinegg · 01/04/2010 21:16

Evening all.

younger - don't feel guilty, it's so easy to miss/dismiss things (remember my DD1's UTI?!). Have a hug, and I hope you're all better soon.

spangle - Happy Birthday H!! I can't believe the birthdays are starting already.

belgina - could the rash be from the binding on the edge of any of the wraps you're using? DD1 reacted badly to the binding on MotherEase wraps, but only overnight (that was why we started using wool at night). I hope it's not your wool wraps, but it's not impossible. If it is the wool, have you tried fleece? We didn't get on with it, but I know others like it.

We've had another good day today, the girls have both ben quite happy for some reason. And amazingly, A hasn't screamed when I've left the room/her line of sight. It might be progress on the SA, but it might be a one off.

Off to my parents tomorrow, I'll try to get online but won't be able to often as mum's computer is in the bedroom DD1 sleeps in. 6 hour journey, wish us luck! No idea what we're going to do with DD1 and the car seat. Sit her on a towel in case of accidents I guess, I'm fairly certain she won't entertain the idea of a nappy for the journey.

youngerthanspringtime · 01/04/2010 21:34

Flippin, have a great trip, 6 hours will be fun! A towel for dd1 is a good idea. we've used the mattress protector folded up on the carseat for protection (we called it a 'magic blanket/pad' for comfort). or get the pampers disposable mattress pads to lay across? anyway, sure you'll/she'll be fine. have a great weekend. x

SpangleMaker · 01/04/2010 21:41

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for H, it makes us feel very special . I must go back and read last May's thread. I loved seeing those birth stories rolling in, so exciting . We had a lot of quick labours, didn't we?

Headless symptoms sound reassuring. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your scan.

Younger I do that too, and I don't really have an excuse because I have no other DCs to look after. It's hard when you don't know why they are being grumpy/whiney. Hope H is better soon.

Pula hope you get a better night tonight.

Well, we had a fab day as far as H was concerned, and Reggiee was right, we are all exhausted! The helium balloons and a toy drum from MIL were the biggest hits. H managed to stay on pretty good form but was a bit clingy when he got tired and wouldn't be held by anyone other than me or DH. Unfortunately we are also having a very worrying and day, as MIL (in the later stages of bowel cancer) has deteriorated and been taken into hospital. She's hardly eaten anything for nearly a week and this morning was very, very weak and couldn't get out of bed. BIL and H's cousins went to visit her tonight and we'll go tomorrow. DH is just on the phone to FIL for an update... she's staying in hospital overnight but DH is not sure what, if anything, they can do for her. (another) sleepless night here I reckon.

youngerthanspringtime · 01/04/2010 21:50

spangle, very for H but very for your MIL. hope you're ok.

SpangleMaker · 01/04/2010 22:01

Thanks, Momino. DH was tearful earlier, after he'd popped over to PILs to see MIL before the ambulance picked her up, but is in distraction mode at the moment. I just looked at your H's birth story/announcement - how chilled out were you?!

SpangleMaker · 01/04/2010 22:02

oops sorry younger that's from reading the old thread!

youngerthanspringtime · 01/04/2010 22:07

oh, your poor DH. it's really tough, isn't it?

momino, thinking of changing back to momino when 'springtime' ends . i feel like a momino at heart.

Hi! I've tried to skim read this week and just wanted to wish H a belated happy birthday. Hi to everyone else. I had 4 days of work this week and ILs to entertain in the evenings so I'm knackered and not keeping up with my online exsistence at all. Probably not a bad thing. Thinking of going to Camden market or a museum today.

I meant to say sorry to hear spangle about your MIL is she still in hospital or was she allowed home for easter?

SinninHinny · 02/04/2010 09:50

blotted hope the shop goes well, I will be visiting with a purse chock-a-block with wads of notes to spend.

Blottedcopybook · 02/04/2010 09:56

I had been musing over whether we should set up a community somewhere like livejournal which is (in my opinion!) much easier to navigate and review. Facebook is nice but you don't get a great deal of in-depth chat plus I find it really hard sometimes to marry up real names and mumsnet names!

Anyway, I can't remember if I posted here or not that Nairn had his assessment for early entry to school on Monday. He was in such a bratty mood that I'm fairly sure he's blown the assessment, I just need to work out what to do next. Ho hum.

Anyone else's baby still seeming really baby-like? I read and see your photos of your walking clapping waving toothy hairy babies and look at Greer who is none of these things! She smiles a lot though, I wonder if she's a bit slow

Blottedcopybook · 02/04/2010 09:57

X-Posted - Thanks Hinny! xx

youngerthanspringtime · 02/04/2010 09:59

blotted , so excited for your shop. all best wishes!

febes, not a bad idea to stay away from the internet.

i've cut down greatly but then I need to come back as I want to keep in touch with everyone and see what is new . You've all been an immensely great support/friendship through this year+.

Fi, thanks for the updat on chocobun.

sinnin, how's the cold? hope work went ok.

everyone, have a great Easter weekend!

belgina · 02/04/2010 11:18

Morning all.

blotted How exciting about your shop. I wish you lots and lots of good luck with it Sounds like being made redundant opened up the way for an exiting new opportunity! Never heard of livejournal before. Is it a forum? A f/b like site? Or something completely different?

febes I'm on a lot less than when I was on mat leave too. Still come on regularly though just to keep in touch, but some days it's just lurking, because I'm too tired to post.

spangle Glad H had a great b'day, but about your MIL.

I also feel C is more babylike (despite her size and long locks) than some of the other babies on here. She mainly just sits TBH, no crawling, walking or even attempts to do either. She's been leaning forward fooling me into thinking that she's going to take off since jan, but still hasn't done it, so I don't think she'll ever get the hang of it. Maybe she's just biding her time and one day she'll get up and walk.
