Glad to hear that Q is a bit brighter this morning star .

Yes, pistachio, he was up whilst I was posting! Got him off eventually. In fact he in the end left him crying in bed and he settled himself, which is proof enough that it isn't the bed causing the problem, but more likely whatever was causing the bad nights before we converted it. Just wish we knew for sure what that was! I didn't get up til 8:20 .

8.20! Well done!!
If dh sleeps in the living room on the sofa he claims he got just as little sleep as I did because he can hear Q waking and crying... there's a HUGE difference between dealing with the wakings/screaming and just hearing it and rolling over and not having to move or get up!!
Pistachio your dh sounds like a dream.

My DH rides a motorcycle to work so I hope he doesn't crash from exhaustion, either... but I have serious doubts about him being truly exhausted.

StarExpat · 05/03/2010 09:42

when is mother's day? I'm going to plan something for us to do special together so I'm not disappointed on that day this year. Just in case claims to only celebrate US mother's day again this year.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/03/2010 09:51

14th March star.

Thanks So, what are you all going to do, then for mother's day? Need ideas

KSal · 05/03/2010 10:26

Hey Star, glad Q is improving. He's such a little trooper bless him.

re mothers day - it sounds like a lie in would be a good start!

StarExpat · 05/03/2010 10:34

I can't do stuff like "i want a lie in.." etc because he'll just think it's weird that I don't want to spend my whole mother's day being a mother and being around Q (and if I say I want some sleep...etc he will oblige but then on father's day make a big deal about how HE just wants to spend the whole day celebrating being a father - and he does play with Q a lot anyway). I do want to be with Q the whole day. I want to do something nice as a family. Maybe I'll just arrange to go out for a late lunch/early dinner after Q's nap or breakfast.

ronshar · 05/03/2010 11:21

I have to say this Star sorry but sometimes your DH sounds like a sanctimonious twat. The whole point of mothers day is that we are supposed to get a day OFF being a mother.

Nearly finished packing. DD is taking her laptop so I am going to steal it and MN while they are all on the slopes

Welcome MRSNETZ. it is mad here but if you need any help at all we are always here.

My dh is rubbish at mothers day. This year will be especially bad as we only get back the day before. I can guarantee that I will not get a thing unless the girls have already done something. But then H would have told me by now

Pistachio maybe we should all copy and paste onto our fridge doors your marvelous template?

50ftQueenie · 05/03/2010 14:10

I'm being a terrible slacker parent this afternoon because M refused to nap. She keeps disappearing off somewhere.... She just popped to bring me the squeezy honey...... She also keeps grabbing my face and turning to her when I ignore her. Bad mother! I am going to insist on being spoilt on Mother's Day as I was entertaining you horrible lot on my birthday.

Star - You are a lovely lovely poppet but your DH is quite frankly, a bell end. You are a fabulous mummy and should be treated like a queen on Mother's Day.

KSal · 05/03/2010 15:49

have been failing to get on here... but i agree with the others star. Mothers day is not a day to be guilt tripped FFS! It is a day for your DH and Q (when he's old enough) to show how much they appreciate what a brilliant mum you are.... grr

Has your dd been reading Heat magazine and seen the lemon detox diet Pistachio? You can't go wrong with an Osprey bag.

Myjob - Can you have your Mother's Day on the 15th? It will be less busy if you want to go out for lunch somewhere......

Star - Last night sounds horrible. You must be completely knackered, poor thing. Glad to hear Q is on the right track now.

DP is on the case for mothers day. From what he's hinted, I think he'll be taking S for some dad's and lad's time giving me the whole day off. That's what it all about surely!

at the jif lemon Pistachio. Nice bag BTW.

Well my UTI has gone and been replaced with a stinking cold and, I think, thrush, presumably as a result of the ABs. Oh joy.

MrsNetz · 05/03/2010 20:00

Aw star that's s tough one glad he on the mend today!

Ah the wonderful mothers day, think I'm gonna book a meal for dh mum and make it mine too!! prob try for breakfast in bed too!!

Hope you all have a nice evening I'm spending it sorting out huge pile of clothes my friend gave me for natasha. Tried on a 3-6 month jacket and it fits!!! Lol 16 months and still in 3-6 in some things

Lol detox diet!! [big grin]

Yes started off huge and has gradually been overtaken by all her baby friends! Eats like a horse but only 21lbs. got really short legs if the bottom on trousers were bit bigger she would still be in 6/9 trousers having to pass them on cos her bum keeps poking out lol

StarExpat · 05/03/2010 20:22

I think it's more about me wanting to be busy so I think about me being a mother instead of missing my own mother. I probably make a bigger deal of it than needs be. I don't want a gift. Just want to do something special together... and now thinking that some time to myself would be nice, too. Maybe I'll get that hair cut then.
BTW no more greys!!!

I love the name natasha.

Nice bag

I have thrush, too, aubergenie. Get that 4 pound pill from sainsburys that ronshar told about. But get two. Just one didn't work for me. I took two and it's getting better.
Does caffeine give you thrush?
I NEVER drink caffeine but just remembered that the day before I got thrush, I forgot my lunch and found a dr pepper and tea in the staff room and had 2 teas and a can of dr pepper that day! ew! But more caffeine than ever... possible?

myjob your facial day sounds lovely! You DO have wonderful dh

MrsNetz · 05/03/2010 20:30

Here me too on the thrust can't shift it! How strange is it the thrush thread lmao

50ftQueenie · 05/03/2010 20:31

The sugar in the Dr Pepper might have upset the balance if you're not used to having that amount of it Star. whatever you do for Mother's Day make sure it's on your terms and it's what you want to do.

MrsNetz - Myjob's dd is only just 20lbs and mine is 22lbs. However they couldn't be more different in body shape! My dd is very long, skinny with legs like a stork, were as Myjob's dd is shorter (but not by much anymore) has a long body and gorgeous chunky thighs! My dd is in some 18-24 months clothes and I think Myjob's dd is still in 9-12! It's very strange isn't it?
