Pistachio - Really glad to hear your friend is now being looked after. How horrible for everyone involved.

Good news! Dp has been offered a job! Hurrah! Finally we can make some definite plans. He's been freelancing at a little company in the East End (which is mega-handy for commuting) and really enjoyed it there and they've offerered him a permanent post with quite lot of scope for creative work, which is the stuff he really enjoys. We're all very happy. Particularly as it means he can say no to the another one that involves lots and lots of travel that he's got a second interview for. Phew.

Oh and long story, but Monkey World (dp's spiritual home) tracked him down because they saw some photos he took of their chimps, and asked to see some more. Now they've told him they're going to use some on their calendar for next year, and have invited him to come and take some more for them and are giving him special access to some of the private bits to do so. He's very chuffed.

Also, I am back in the land of the living. Triple celebration!

Star - How's your head today?

I can do Bluewater or Greenwich. Shame there's no Leon in Greenwich, that would be a perfect combination.

StarExpat · 18/03/2010 20:41

Hoorayyyyy aubergenie!!!!! What great news all around

StarExpat · 18/03/2010 20:42

my head hurts still. It's more my eyes... well, behind my eyes. It is a dull pain with periods of pounding headache like pain. Vision ok. It must just be Jeff acting up again

ronshar · 18/03/2010 21:40

50ft, you really should wash your children at least once a week you know Poor M.

Aubergenie that fab news for you & your DP. Did you mean that your dp is a monkey in spirit or that he loves going there???

Star I had a boyfriend called Jeff once, he was a pain in my butt rather than my head. Are you going back to your doc?

Pistachio did you have to give a little show today or just talk about BF? How did you get on?

CSWS I was thinking today that I havent asked you for ages how you are getting on with your pregnancy. Are you excited yet?

50ftQueenie · 18/03/2010 21:56

Star - Hee hee to Jeff! Had a thought, tip your head forwards.... does it hurt more.....?

Aubergenie - Fucking brilliant news! Sorry had to swear because I am so pleased that you DP is going to using his fabulous photography skills! He can't possibly keep doubting his talent when others have noticed..... And obviously fabulous news about the permanent work.

M's toe is better today! Hurrah! Better to be safe than sorry but it may have been an over reaction to take her to the GP.

KSal - Stop taking about potty training .

DH says can we please NOT go to Bluewater because a)it will be busy and b) it will be boring. I suggest that we do Bluewater as a girls thing at some point because I LOVE Leon soooooo much!

Well done lady! MWs often know bugger all about bfing so well done on correcting her! Did she do cats bum mouth? Good luck with fitting that all in, I am sure you can do it!

StarExpat · 19/03/2010 08:22

How are you doing, Ronshar?
50ft - yes, we can make it a girls day to Leon. We don't even have to bring the toddlers

Well done you, pistachio! What did the MW say when you corrected her? well done with all of that!

Q threw himself back and landed on my nose (on bed, I was laying down) this morning. ouch!!! It still hurts a lot and has created a new ache on my face/head. ugh. Now I have a hurt nose a disgusting horrid corner of my lip (which still hasn't healed from when he did the same thing earlier in the week but landed on my lip) and ache behind eyes. I might as well go live in a cave.
with Jeff the tumor.

StarExpat · 19/03/2010 08:24

50ft can you post/link the recipe for that fine dish you made?

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/03/2010 11:00

Oh dj's jungle is a good choice ksal (although limited apparatus at this in between age). It's smaller and quieter than most soft plays, so feels much more civilised. And for me it's quite close (it's not all the way in to St Albans, but in Sandridge which is enroute).

Yay for all of your good news aubergenie.

Pregnancy all going fine thank you ronshar. Had another scan on Monday and size still fine, and the consultants don't want to see me now for 5 weeks, which is good going with GD!

star - ouch for your bumps, but I can trump you for ouches today. Take a look at my profile pics - have added one of my forearm (just above elbow). That is just one of my arms - both are similar, and I can hardly move my knee without excrutiating pain. I charged outside yesterday to rescue D who had blood gushing from his mouth after dd rammed the double swing seat into his face, and in my rushing I tripped over on the patio and did a big slide on my front, so then 2 of us were injured instead of 1! This was 4pm yest, and have been in agony ever since (but still went out to London last night to meet some of my new ante-natal thread).

Well done on the bf stuff pistachio.

Waaay too early for potty training IMO/E, but I like to wait until I know that things will be easy to do, rather than set myself another challenge needlessly.

ronshar · 19/03/2010 12:16

Good grief will you lot be careful. I can only fit a few Mr Bumps in my frezer and they are all at Star's house at the moment!
CSWS are you ok? Did you land on your tummy? Take it easy please Also is D ok? No teeth missing I hope!

Ksal, if E's nursery want to potty train her then let them get on with it. Save you a fortune in nappies and you can start buying the most cute little pants. Is E showing signs of knowing when she has been to the loo? If not, then be prepared for lots of washing coming back from Nursery!
I am excited about getting W his first pair of big boy pants. He now is fully aware of when he does a poo so thats a good start.

Pistachio. What is the best thing to do with BM if you have had a skinful? I was never sure so just didnt have too much to drink! I'm sure you were tactful and also at how much work you have got to do!

I have just come back from ENT appointment. I actually got to see a consultant today! I have to go for another scan on my sinus head and then almost certainly another op to clear them out. Bollocks.

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/03/2010 12:29

Yuk for op ronshar. My GP told me that there was no point having my sinuses drained because they would just fill up again .

I'm not really ok ronshar, no, but battling on - no choice in that really! I was worried about the bump as I fell on the whole of my front, but I think that my arms instinctively took the brunt of the fall in order to save my tummy. Was worried as didn't feel baby for a while afterwards, but movements seem to be back to normal now .
D is thankfully ok and still has all of his teeth intact (much to my surprise). Lots of blood and tears for a few minutes (and he wanted dh to cuddle him not me ) but then back to normal.

CSWS the consultant said today that with nasal polyps and congested sinus's that 60% of people who have the op will go on to have no more problems! A small section may have to have it done again and an even smaller section will have it done several times and then it may just go away on its own

Pistachio. I am such an ignorant cow. That makes complete sense. It just goes to show how we really dont understand our own bodies.

Star - I am sure Ronshar will be along soon to verify but..... sounds like a sinus infection. You were dying with flu recently weren't you? Get ye to a doctor and get some ABs. The sinus cavities can swell up hugely with the infection and are very close to the eye orbit so it is feasible that the infected sinus could be putting pressure on the eye causing the vision problem. You probably don't remember but I had a terrible sinus infection that made me want to take a hammer to my teeth because the sinus was pushing down on them so hard!

Oh poor you CSWS and poor DS. It must have been very scary falling on your bump. I hope you're on the mend soon. I fell on my arse when I was 38 weeks pregnant and it took me a couple of days to recover from that so give yourself time.

Ronshar - Ah bugger to sinus op. Hope you're one of the few that is forever cured.

All this talk of potty training is making me VERY edgy. Luckily M is nowhere near ready, she is totally bemused when she wees without her nappy on. Good girl.

aubergenie · 20/03/2010 08:57

Great news about ds Myjob! And yes - We'll be coming down to Monkey World some time over the next few months. I'll definitely keep you posted. Maybe we can pop in for a cuppa!

CSWS - I bet that was scary. I hope you're OK now??

Star - Have you got a walk-in (Walking!) clinic near you? You could get ABs today and they'd start to work really quickly.

We're off to a wedding today. It's in a rowing club on the Thames so will be lovely - if the weather clears up. It's raining at the moment. It's child-free event so S is going to my sister's. It'll be really weird being out with dp with no S. We've only done it once before.

pepperrabbit · 20/03/2010 09:45

have a lovely day aubergenie, it's raining here as well.
I have my niece's 4th birthday party this afternoon with all 3 DCs (very relaxing - not!), then the family birthday tea follows straight on, then, DH and I are going to a friend's 40th birthday party which is 1970s fancy dress! Might be a bit tired after all that, reckon it's 12 hours of parties with one costume change
CSWS,how are your bruises today?
star have you been back to the docs? you need to get rid of Jeff methinks!
myjob - hurray for getting the right school - welcome to the world of homework, "show and share" and an instant familiarity with Lost Property...

50ftQueenie · 20/03/2010 10:13

Watching One Born on catch up. Wow! I actually got emotional when Penny and Ben's little girl was born. I suppose that is because I really identified with them. They were so like me and DH. Oh and when I was in labour with ds, I played crib with my mum! Looking at next week, think that is going to be a tough watch.....
