Hi girls, thought the old thread was in need of a spring clean, plus, I'm sure if my memory serves me right, one of us had our May-due baby in March (Macoco???) so someone is 2 soon....!

Hello all,

I've been away a long time but I'm back! Just found out I'm pregnant again and due in May 2010! Hope everyone is well. Will go back and try and read the thread now, had a quick skim before. News (apart from pg) is that DS has just moved to a big bed and has started nursery. Still not mnay words, maybe 50 and no 2 word sentences and a lot of noises still, but coming along slowly.

Will post later.

Pipoca - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Grin

That is wonderful news!!

We are the same with words - we are probably at about 100 now, but seeing the SALT has def. helped loads.
It is lovely to hear from you.

Congratulations again on your news. xx

shonnomanom · 26/09/2010 09:16

CONGRATS pipoca!! Very Happy for you and your family! x

hm I love watching thunder&lightening storms. I think the best one iv seen was in Switzerland when I was 15. Like you said, seeing it roll over the valley is amazing.

We're just back from a spur-of-the-moment trip to Manchester to give my Gran a hug. Her dog of 15y had to be put to sleep last week. The dog is(was) the only constant in her daily life since my grandad died when the dog was still a pup so its a massive blow for her.

Well I am supposed to be going into hospital on Thursday this week to get all 4 wisdom teeth removed. I say supposed because I havent had a period yet this month. Dp wants to wait til Wednesday to do a test but I think il probably do it on Monday if I get the chance. If it wasnt for the hospital I would wait to the the following week. fingers crossed ladies!!

OK, girls... advice needed...

As I am sure you all know haribo and Mims both model... Haribo hasnt done much, and I was planning to not renew his contract...

They called today and he has got a (quite lucrative) job, if he would like it... It's for the TV series 'Law and Order' (I don't watch it, but apparently it's terrestrial TV) Anyway, he will be murdered.... He just has to stand for photos...

I don't have a problem with it, but the two people I've mentioned it to both have had a BIG problem with it... AIBU to let him do the job?

I mean, it's not some underworld sect, even if it's not the nicest topic to think about... it's not real, right?

advice, please Smile

Lucky2010 · 28/09/2010 22:13

HM of course it's not real!! He won't even remember it when he's older. As his mother, if you don't have a problem with it then go ahead, but judging by the response you have had so far, perhaps just don't tell people. Chances of them watching that episode and seeing H are highly unlikely.

If anyone is gonna be freaked out by such a thing it would be you, so if you're OK with it, then I don't see the problem.

Not sure how I would feel about my DDs doing it, I think it would unsettle me a bit, depending on what they have to look like for the photos, covered in blood etc??

Just tell H it's a Halloween thing?!!

Hope that helps,

LM x

Pipoca congratulations that's wonderful news.
Hm agree with lucky, if you are happy then that's fine.

shonnomanom · 29/09/2010 14:03

well im getting my teeth out tomorrow. I did take a test but it was negtive :( but im glad im gettin gmy teeth out. swings and roundabouts eh.

hm tbh my first reaction was to gasp. But then in thinking about it I would do it. Am I right to think that H's photo would be used for 'tv witness call outs' and up and around the 'family home'? If thats the case then I would definatly do it. After all it might lead to other jobs for him.

Good Luck.

Hello all,

Finally got our internet back, hooray! All fine here, due date Monday but am feeling fine and full of energy so not at the desperate stage just yet! Quite excited but being me, very umprepared.

pipoca Congratulations! Fab news.

Sho Sorry it wasn't to be this month, must be tough, keep going!

HM Agree if you have no problem and not likely to be scary then it's ok. Funny to see this today actually, one of my thespy friends has just used DS for a poster of a new play
here, don't know what it's about actually but funny that he's all over their flyers and posters etc. Also, do +not* stgart an AIBU thread about it! Grin
Schools sound tricky but good to have options. Local schools where we've moved to all seem good so not concerned really. Also we're thinking about leaving the country before DS goes to school, very early ideas so no mention on facebook anyone, but perhaps emigrating to Taiwan or Japan for a few years. Lots to consider but we have very itchy feet!

lucky Well done on your big sale! I'm at the other end, unpacking tiny baby things all over again. So small! Can't quite believe it.
This whole pregnancy has been quite unreal actually and so fast, won't actually believe there's a baby til I see him! Will keep you posted...Smile

First wedding anniversary tomorrow (no plans for obvious reasons!), where has this year gone?!

youknowmeasharimo · 30/09/2010 11:05

Hi Baiyu - can't believe you are due a baby in a matter of days. Hope it all goes as you wish. FWIW, I think that poster of your DS is extremely cool... I would def. have a framed copy in the house!! Grin I know how you feel about the new baby. As I think you all know, I didnt know about Haribo until I was 22weeks PG, so it just didn't feel real at all. Even the morning I was due to have him, I still wouldnt believe it until he was there in my arms Smile

Doesnt your DH speak japanese? Or am I making that up Wink... i think I remember him doing something over there before.

Sho (and others who are TTC)... you have my sympathies... I am feeling desperately broody at the moment Sad but know with all certainty it aint happening (not least because DH has had the snip now! Grin. Think it is just because I am about 4 days late, so presumably hormones are kicking in... because I know in reality I dont want another baby Grin I hope it happens soon for all of you.

MM - how are you?

HM x

youknowmeasharimo · 30/09/2010 11:06

Oh and Sho - meant to add: Good luck with the teeth.. Thinking of you x

youknowmeasharimo · 01/10/2010 10:04

Gah!! Where are you all?

Willabywallaby · 01/10/2010 10:09

Working...

shonnomanom · 01/10/2010 12:01

Thanks HM
Teeth are out. Period came wednesday night, typical. The procedure went well and the swelling isnt too bad, touch wood but so far no bruising so think iv been lucky there.
On the other hand, dp took time off to help more with dd these few days, but shes not well so wont go to him at all. again, typical.
She's got a birthday party to attend tommorow (my mum is taking her) nad iv just realised that its not the weather for summer sandals and scuffed trainers arent exactly suitable. Looks like a trip to the shops this afternoon.

Baiyu, love the flyer of your ds. Hope everything goes well with your new arrival. will be thinking of you. oh and happy anniversary.

Hope everyone is good. Im off to eat yet more soup.

Sho x

pipoca · 01/10/2010 15:51

wow, baiyu, how exciting...best wishes hope all goes smoothly. Do you know the sex?

I've had a d and v bug followed by a horrible sore throat and feel a bit sicky but the sicky feeling's probably par for the course at 6 wks pg. Hoping it won't develop into full blown HG.

Harimo can you tell me a bit about the SALT you went to? There's nothing like that here but I'd be interested in what she said as sounds like DS is v similar. I think he could say an awful lot IYSWIM, he just doesn't want to be bothered. He'll say a word from nowhere but then not again for ages and still uses a lot of his "own language" IYSWIM, i.e for children he says didi and has even taught the others at nursery to say it!!!

oops he's waking up, back later...

Lucky2010 · 02/10/2010 00:44

can't sleep Sad GGrrr!

OP posts:
youknowmeasharimo · 02/10/2010 21:08

Hi guys!

LM - I also couldn't sleep last night... right up until about 5:45am, when I suddenly felt shattered and didn't want to get up Wink

Pipoca - I found my SALT on this website. I spoke to a few (and actually met up with 3) before I decided on the one we now see more regularily. She is very approachable, comes to see Haribo in his own house, which really helps us, and has a policy of letting me e-mail if I have specific concerns out of our normal sessions (only see her once a month now). E-mail me or FB me if you want any more details.

Sho well done on the teeth... Isn't it always the way when you do get a bit of help, that they only want mummy!! (still, we wouldn't have it any other way, I am sure)

I'm having a bit of a Hmm with Haribo at the moment. He is toilet trained, very good during the day, still in nappies at night (but getting better) but, now, he is obviously 'in control' enough to not going for a poo until he's been put to bed... Give it 30-45minutes and I hear 'mama, MAMA'... and sure enough, he's done a poo, which requires him coming out of his room and then he's allowed downstairs for a few minutes before I re-do all of the bedtime routine again (so, more kisses with everyone - which can take some time when we have a houseful of kids!), another story, another tucking up in bed.... AND HE IS DOING IT ON PURPOSE! I am trying very hard not to let it get to me, as I reckon anything that allows him to feel more and more in control of his systems can only be a good thing, but he is def. playing me at my own game now!! Little bugger!!

ALso, is anyone watching X factor this year? I watched it for the first time this series and OMG!! WHere did they find those people from? Alot of them simply couldn't sing!!!

Oh well, bed calling.

Congrats Baiyu! x

Mitchell81 · 04/10/2010 15:58

Congratulations Baiyu, so happy for you!!!!

My DD is 10 tomorrow, can't believe 10 years ago today I was in labour. (First and last time) Wink Blush(Had elective cs so haven't experienced labour again) I still can't believe that she will be 10 tomorrow it feels like yesterday that I was wheeled to her in the Neo natal unit meeting her for the first time. Love you Kate

Sho hope you are feeling better now, it took me at least a week before I felt better.

baiyu · 06/10/2010 11:50

Hi folks, thanks for your congrats. Little
Louis arrived 0036 on Saturday, 7lb 12oz. Arrived about 2.5 hours after getting to hospital. Had a lovely anniversary meal
while having contractions, decided to skip pudding and go in and he was born just after midnight! Really straightforward delivery with just gas and air, a million times better than first time round! All doing well and very happy. DS1 is being such a wonderful big brother, makes me very proud Smile
Hope everyone else doing well.

Willabywallaby · 07/10/2010 06:08

Baiyu congrats! It' all sounds great news. Is it Louis pronounced with an 'e' or an 'is'. I got it wrong with a patient once and always feel the need to know! Hope you're body's bearing up. Great DS1 is being a little star.

Mitchell Hope your DD enjoyed her party.

Pipoca great to hear from you with such good news.

LM well done on your ebay selling. I have stuff to go but wouldn't know where to start. I should be doing another NCT sale Saturday week but I don't feel I have time to sort the stuff. It took me hours last time. I'm not good at decluttering, whole house needs it really.

*Sho8 hope the pain's improving now. If not do go back to your dentist and get the sockets checked.

Hope the rest of you are well.

I had a very vivid dream and woke at 4am, so been clearing my email account of rubbish.

Been feeling a bit lacklustre lately. Work been ok, but I'm lacking in confidence and don't want to be there.

Had a architect over yesterday to tlak more about putting in more surgeries and changing the rest of the house to 2 flats so we can live in a 'proper' house. When I think back I've never felt (in the last 4 years since we moved) that I'm settled in my 'home'. I've always known long term we aren't going to stay. Apart from the boys rooms we've changed nothing. I wonder if I would feel happier if I moved our kitchen which is what we would do to put in the next surgery. We would move it to a large dining room we hardly use which opens onto the garden, much more sensible in the summer for keeping an eye on the boys....

Anyway going to stop rambling, looking forward to a bath at 7am I think, then school run and off to work!

shonnomanom · 07/10/2010 21:24

baiyu congratulations again! Hope your all settling in to life together nicely.

WW sorry to hear your not feeling fantastic with things just now.
Dp gets very nervous when I get like that. I have a tendancy to get rid of/change things when I get that feeling. Example: quit job on the thursday started college on the monday Grin

My teeth are getting better thank you. Was back at the hospital today to get the stitches out. Iv been having alot of problems with the left side of my mouth. Turns out the dressing had came loose so it was and open wound all week. No wonder i was in agony. Its been redressed and iv to go back next week to get it checked.

School holidays next week yeeeaaahhh!!!

Ps is it wrong to be thinking about christmas already, i feel like im wishing the year away
