Hi guys!
MIL is ok, WW - thanks... I'm quite close to her, so have phoned her a few times and a couple of those times she's sounded a bit 'hyper' but overall she is coping OK, I think.
parties are a nightmare I am not looking forward to!! I've been through all of this with DSDs and my gut feel is, while they are under 10, just go for cheap and cheerful and invite everyone... Once they are older than 10, limit numbers and go for a better venue... My DSD2 (13) is having her next birthday party in a private cinema in London, with a stretch hummer (DSD1 had her 13th at HRC also with stretch hummer)
Baiyu - Are you in the new house? Hope its lovely and you are happy there
LM - Great news about DH!
It's my wedding anniversary today, bit of a none event, really
. I really wish I could think of a wonderful pressie for DH, but I can't
Well, not much news here. Was supposed to take Mims to a gym class today, but just as it started, my nanny called to say Haribo had fallen down the stairs
. He's fine, but I had to come home... They are both asleep now.
I have a question for you all (and apologies to all of you who think Christmas shouldn't be mentioned for several months yet!) but what are you all thinking of getting / doing for your LOs?
my kids have (i) far too many clothes (ii) far too many toys (iii) everything the could concievably need at the moment... In fact, my house (which, by most people's standards, is pretty large) is now full to bursting point (I am just in the process of hiring a storage unit!!
) so just wondering what to do about Christmas. I think they are a bit young for Lapland / Iceland (or are they???
) and anyway, I'd kind of been saving that as my 40th birthday treat (they will be 4 and 5 then and I think at a great age to enjoy father Christmas... They won't believe in Father Christmas for longer than about 5 as neither DH or I believe in stringing them a long. As soon as they are old enough to understand, we will tell them.. so yes, my kids will probably be the ones all the other parents are complaining about for telling thier kids that Santa isn't real
) Anyone got any good ideas?
And what about ethical presents for other people? I'm afraid after 12 years of being given handmade mugs and plates (I started with the DSDs
), most people are pretty fed up of them... Ive given everyone trees, recycled cashmere and scupltures made out of old tin cans... I need some new ideas!
Well, off to check on Haribo again.
HM xx
