Actually I definitely win the shit mum crown today. Was upstairs earlier and thought it had gone quiet, maybe he must have fallen asleep on the sofa. Came down to find front door (which had been on the latch) wide open, didn't know he could open it. He had pottered down the road to explore with his blankie and was being looked after by a strange passing lady woman who had spotted him, knocked on various doors to no avail and called the police in the end. Policeman was v nice about it and I was fine at the time (emergency calm gene kicked in) but now feel a bit like a skinned cat. Question is do I tell DH?

oopsandbabycoconut · 03/03/2010 14:43

Buckets (((HUGS))) what a horrible feeling. I have only ever lost DD in our garden, she escaped to the front, and that was terrifying enough.

Sazz - here have a G&T nice hot cuppa what about Mama Mia or cbeebies? DD is watching Big Cook Little Cook sitting in our bed whilst I get on with some work for DH.

QueenofDreams · 03/03/2010 15:42

THere's obviously something in the air - S has been a nightmare all day. I too am sitting gibbering while being incredibly grateful that he is now having a nap. He didn't go down without a fight though.
buckets how scary! At least he's ok though.

Buckets you must tell your DH. You'd feel it important for him to do the same if the tables were turned. These things happen. I, like Oops, lost track of Reese in the yard. While talking by the mailbox with a neighbor she disappeared from the front porch. A quick search found her trying to climb in the swing in the back yard.((((hugs))))

Pissing in a cut went well. LOL! Chatted with doc about hypnosis for my anxiety issues. I meet with the phycologist in his office in April.

Sorry so many are having grumpy children issues. Reese has been a bit demanding but now that Elmo is on she is FINE.

sazz I have a few others earmarked to apply for tomorrow. (having trouble with Word today, it won't let me edit my cv )
I'm just getting a bit disheartened tbh there's two stock rejection phrases I keep getting 'overqualified' or 'not enough experience' And it just annoys me that it's always the recruitment agencies. The employer never even gets to see my fecking cv. So I'm just starting to feel like I really must be spectactularly useless, and also starting to think I'm going to end up working back in call centre hell. I went to uni to get away from the call centres and now it feels like that's going to be my only shot at earning any money.
Fucking degree was a fucking waste of time.

RedLentil · 03/03/2010 19:04

Buckets, similar happened to us when ds was this age, and the lock failed on our front door.

He was outside checking out the car's tyres. We lived on a main road and it was a horrid moment.

Now, if I can't find any of them I roar like a banshee and dh and the dc are .

about me raving about my dad incoherently too. He is much on my mind at the moment as he is struggling with the idea of retiring and his normally self is . So I just kind of blurted about him on here.

On the way to my wedding he chatted about whether or not he'd ordered the right quantity of concrete for a groundworks job he was starting on the Monday.

Brum is fab these days. When we used to slope off there in the train on Saturday afternoons in the 80s it was less fab ...
Still, cooler than Coventry though.

Gang are home. See you later.

luckoftheirish · 03/03/2010 19:28

glad you are all bigging up the city i live in ..

qod i am a recruitment consultant by trade have been for over 12 years {don't shoot me!} happy to look at your cv to see if i can help in any way if you like??

sorry to hear dd1 has ear infection sazz.. dd2 had that only 2 weeks ago and after literally one dose of antibiotics she was back on her feet flying!!

GladioliBuckets · 03/03/2010 19:35

Have told DH as having been getting more wound up as the day progressed, he was lovely about it.

Lentil I'd be seriously if my dad wanted to talk to me about anything that wasn't DIY/steam locomotives/comedy things grandchildren have said/done. We are all trained to translate this as 'I love you'.

hotterpotter · 03/03/2010 21:11

I'm back

Buckets phew that all turned out OK they are minxes aren't they with their sudden ability to do unexpected stuff. I'm sure my DS will be in the cupboard under the sink any day now...

loti sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly , and hope you feel better soon. Although I didn't get a chance to meet you yesterday, I was wandering down New Street when I happened to glance into a cafe and saw someone I hadn't seen for nearly 10 years so that was a nice catch up for 5 minutes before I continued my shopping expedition.

Sambo I hope your DP takes your words to heart and does something about it. Are you planning on taking him to Majorca? () When and where are you going? We went to Cala Millor in October and it was fantastic. Oh how I would like to go again...

Dizzy I am very glad to hear your heating is working again at last. Surely that is a sign Spring is finally coming????

Oh I am sorry I can't remember anything else I am confused, tired, have a weird taste in my mouth, feel queasy...and my period I would have put money on being pg this month Is this what my future holds, constant imagining of symptoms

Oh and I am preparing for being tarred and feathered by a small band of you for having read Twilight and thinking it was a bit rubbish...

dizzydixies · 03/03/2010 21:24

welcome back Hots, you've been missed

hotterpotter · 03/03/2010 21:31

It's good to be back Dizzy although I've hardly been awol, now I have learned how to mn on my phone I will never go away again

oopsandbabycoconut · 03/03/2010 21:33

aarrrrgggghhhhhhh I need to name this baby or at least find her a short list and all D(?)H wants to do is play bleeding predator on the PS3!!!!!

can you tell for some wierd reason or other I am suddenly having to sort things out for her, questions are:

We were lent a moses basket for DD I am not buying a new one now and wasting £50. So can I put her straight into her cot in our room?

Where has all my newborn baby clothing gone - I am sure we had loads but it isn't in the loft - who borrowed it?

Wh yam I panicking about this at 9.30pm on a Wednesday 11 weeks before she is due??

Hi Dizzy, Hi HP

Oops sweetie, whats happened tonight to get you all riled up?! a moses basket isn't a necessity but if you want one then get one, the lie flat of the pram does the same job remember who leant you the last one?

have you been up the loft for the clothes? send DH - thats such a DH job lol

tell us you names, you ultimately know we'll be the driving force behind the choices anyway

sambo303 · 03/03/2010 21:39

hots it is a bit rubbish, but now you have to see the film and fall under Edwards spell... we are going to stay near Alcudia, all inclusive holiday so we can get complete rest and there is a toddler disco and sea salt pool and cheesy entertainment and all day booze etc, can not wait. for you re not being pg this time

buckets god how scary, thank the lord it ended well - I agree with wise vg re telling dh; yes dp is 13 years older, but i never noticed the age gap before we had ds - now sometimes he does seem a bit old fashioned in his attitude. He explained his behaviour by saying he thought I did nt want to be with him, he thought I just wanted to have ds - this is a recurring theme due to his 1st wife tricking him into getting pg when he was 19 - but still do i have to make excuses for him permanently?? At least stuff is out in the open now.

qod how annoying re that job; hope you have some luck soon

another of my nct friends is pg, baby due Sept. I am so unbelieveably desperate for another baby it's ridiculous. dp says we are not in a position to try re finances. humpf.

oopsandbabycoconut · 03/03/2010 21:41

Dizzy - I have no idea really, I had a bit of backache and craping earlier and I think it had freaked me out that if she comes early then we are so NOT prepared! The moses basket we were lent is currently being used by the owner and has been promised to someone else next. Clothes not in the lost I made him bring down ALL the baby boxes just to be sure (they are all green storage boxes)

Names he hasn't vetoed this evening are:

Clara
Elizabeth
Natasha
Isolde
Katya
and Helena (which I am getting tired of)

Sazz - Yes I thin I might be having a moment of realisation! and this blasted baby is breach again!

oopsandbabycoconut · 03/03/2010 21:43

cramping not craping!

sambo303 · 03/03/2010 21:44

I love Katya
Is it shortened to Masha in Russian...?
