CaptainCaveman · 02/03/2010 20:54

Just general bollockness dizzy, nhs usual knee jerk reaction to situations topped with managing 'challenging' people has made for a particularly testing day . Ah well, I'm sure we'll be worrying about something else tomorrow

off to catch up on a weeks worth of thread...

CaptainCaveman · 02/03/2010 21:08

just caught up with your posts cyteen and read them with tears in my eyes (and on my cheeks!). No wise words of wisdom from me, just always here for you and willing to trade family fuckhead comparisons at any given time

I need wine and I won't be denying myself today after a truly wanky day

scuse the fucking fowl fucking bloody language fuck fuck fuck fuck gaaahhhhhhh

oh no poor poor lovely L, give her a big hug from us, hope she's feeling better very soon.

heating on ladies, tomorrow morning will be the make or break but appreciate the offer Sazz he was in for over 2 hours replacing the timer and then taking it off and putting back the original as apparently it wasn't that causing the problem - had better not be getting fecking billed for that

DH working his way through some leftover baking from Sat and one of the girls at work has asked for my cheesecake recipe - I have of course said no, its privvy only to me and the whole of MN of course

dizzydixies · 02/03/2010 21:32

ds has a new word - no
or more commonly nononononononono

evening all, have atrocious cold so will try not to breathe on anyone.

lwfh lovely pics, very of your new dd; your dh sounds very charming

cyteen golly, that sure is a whole heap of crapola for one person to deal with, i really feel for you. It's mad how things get swept under the carpet in families. Hope you are feeling a bit better, the sunshine helps? Glad you have your dad to share things with.

no1 i have started Twilight for the 2nd time - hots how are you finding it; am about to introduce a work colleague to the series. I really want to read the black dagger brotherhood too

oops wow 11 weeks to go - totally beyond

my friend who had 2 mcs is properly pg - hooray, she's 13 weeks, phew

booked 10 nights in majorca today - I'm so excited to take ds on holiday, I am already planning his outfits.

had good old rant at dp yesterday - cyteen something you said a while back has been on my mind namely, sambo do you get anything from this relationship except abuse and i thought and thought and realised that no i dont anymore. So told dp either he sorts out his grumpy mood or else. What brought it to a head was he threw ds's highchair across the room in a fit of temper whilst screaming and swearing - in front of ds and i will not tolerate that sort of behaviour. I want him to go to anger management therapy - of course he will not. But he says i've made him realise he has to change - has a lot to deal with re the past and his sister is back in hospital (bi polar) but frankly his behaviour is a disgrace. So we'll see but it felt good to say what i've been thinking for a while.
we both feel undervalued i guess, maybe a holiday will help...

feel free to let loose cc, how did the vino slip down?

GladioliBuckets · 02/03/2010 22:24

Well done Sambo, I know that will have been hard for you to say out loud. People do need to be told when they're being unreasonable/childish/rude. Let's hope holiday helps the conversation flow even more.

[Sigh] at One Born. Powerful stuff isn't it, childbirth?

GladioliBuckets · 02/03/2010 22:26

Sambo He's a lot older than you isn't he? Do you ever feel there is a pecking order in the relationship because of that?

TwilightSurfer · 03/03/2010 00:37

Could I just borrow one of your expletives Captain? FCK! I filled out a questionnaire on our local electric companies website regarding using their new web based service pages. I'm an ex-quality assurance I.T. person so I felt it important to answer said questionnaire honestly especially since the ONE thing I logged into the site for didn't work...well it did but only after I logged out and logged back in which it DID NOT say to do in order for it to work. ANYWAY! They called today about the questionnaire and it was a nice chat. When DH got home one of the first things he said to me was, "my boss forwarded me your questionnaire." You see my DH is a manager in the customer service section of our electric company...just not the area that covers complaints like I had. So I'll say it again, FCK! Oh well if they didn't want feedback they shouldn't have put the blasted 8 million question survey in a pop up as I attempted to LOG OUT of their program. Right?

DD1 off to school reeking of tea tree shampoo as I flung her in the shower this morning and shampooed her twice over again

dry again this morning so will go and make the best of the day by doing housework which has badly badly been neglected

oopsandbabycoconut · 03/03/2010 09:19

Morning all

Night from hell here - DD ran head first into the end of the bed in the dark last night whilst playing chase with DH (after a big dinner, 5oz of milk and a yoggie) So we had huge sobbing before bed and When I put her down in bed she burped an huge burp and gave it all back to me so not bug related but more Papa chasing and sobbing induced. Then an hour later she woke sobbing 'owww, dot um owie, owwwwwww' So I asked where and she said head and throat so I neurofen'd and brought her in with me so I could keep an eye and she was okay until 2 am when it all started again and carried on for 2.5 hours when she fell asleep on me and woke in tears at 7.30 so more neurofen and she has a strangely croupy sounding voice but is fine post meds. aarrrggghhhh I though we may get out today! We are short of all sorts of things and need a huge supermarket shop as well as birthday/baby/wedding presents to get before Friday

Excuse the rant but Dh moved to the spare room last night and had 'a fabulous night sleep' and has headed off to work.

Dizzy - you made me itch Sorry to hear about snotties and early starts.

Sazz - hope DD1 is feeling better soon and you manage a doc appointment.

Sambo - well done on having it out with DH problems out in the open are easier to solve.

Hots - hope Brum is ggod and food is tasty

QueenofDreams · 03/03/2010 09:33

Morning all.
Night not bad last night, although Monday night was terrible so spent yesterday in a tired haze.
oops sympathies. poor P It's lovely she can tell you what's bothering her. With S we just get hysterical wailing/sobbing and have to just guess.
sambo well done on having it out with with DP. It does sound very difficult

hotterpotter · 03/03/2010 09:36

Hello lovely ladies just nipping on before heading off for day two Have read all and will catch up properly later loti you have a surprisingly beautiful city and i had great fun shopping yesterday, even had my first big mac in 20 years which was lush ( oops) Got my period today though so can't start eating for two yet Have a lovely day y'all

dizzydixies · 03/03/2010 09:46

christ Hots, could you not pass your period over here, feck knows where mine is [meep]

TwilightSurfer · 03/03/2010 10:54

Nighmare night here too. I am quitting the prebed facebooking from today forward. That combined with the huge amounts of chili I had yesterday kept me awake or dreaming and the dreams were completely bizarre. I've had very little sleep and must get all up and out and me to the doctor for post-er 6 week check (remember my kidney stone). All the means I have to go pee in a cut so DRINK DRINK DRINK is me. ->swimming eyeballs

Sazzles I would consider that had I not embarrassed myself completely when the nice girl from the electric company called for the followup. You see I had JUST phoned DH...and it put me through to voicemail. 2 minutes later the phone rings and the caller ID said, Electric Company. I answered without a hello. Instead I said, "so are you just trying to ignore me because I've called a thousand times today." My tone was sweet so it's not completelyCOMPLETELY embarrassing but still. She and I had a good laugh about it. She told me she'd be happy to chat with me for how ever long I wanted. Kinda can't put my foot down and demanding anything when I'd already put foot in mouth to start with.

times up

glad you liked brum hots (although not my native city)..it does get alot of bad press so thank you and glad to hear you enjoyed your big mac! sorry to hear about getting your period.. just means lots more scrubbing floors next month

sorry work is horrible at the moment cece hope all improves..xx

cyteen · 03/03/2010 11:44

Hahahahaha TS that is awesome A much-needed LOL from me.

hots sorry to hear of the curse's arrival, best get practicing again once it's all out of the way Brum is a very underrated city, I find. The shopping is excellent, which is why I don't allow myself to go there very often

sambo that is indeed rather , how fantastic that you put your foot down. I really hope this is a corner turned, you deserve to be treated with love and respect.

General sympathies, anti-bac wipes and cautious pats on the shoulder applied to all other thread suffering.

QueenofDreams · 03/03/2010 11:56

argh, ds is being a real moany moo today. He has only cheered up in the last ten minutes as he is throwing all the veg in the bin. Argh. It will be ok if I wash it off won't it?

Might stick one born every minute on 4od

cyteen · 03/03/2010 12:02

QoD if I threw away everything that DS puts in our bin, we'd have no books/clothes/cooking implements left. Wash it off, it will be fine
