luckoftheirish · 16/03/2010 13:21

not the greatest cook in the world lwfh, all my dinner either consist of meat and 2/3 veg or my classic one pots.. chicken casserole but done on the hob?

good luck today sazz hopefully you will be in the money and hope that dd2 is much improved..

dd2 has a really nasty cold now.. not really well enough to go to the childminders so is at home with me creating mischief... desperate for a little bit of me time but thats going to have to wait..

going to take her to nursery time at the library when she wakes.. haven't been in months cos she turns into a minx when she gets there so heres hoping it is a bit better now she is older..

thanks for all your comments re talking.. she pressed my nose yesterday and said beep!! so i was well chuffed and my heart mega melting

oopsandbabycoconut · 16/03/2010 13:35

Ladies is it wrong to be excited by DH buying DD tickets to Peppa Pig live in Cheltenham?? She will explode with excitement when we turn up (If they invite me of course )

oopsandbabycoconut · 16/03/2010 14:56

Blah - the theatre just rang to say their online ticket sales are wrong and they tickets DH bought are not available but we can have 3 in the last row at the very back Now I have to see if I can source them from another close theatre!

dizzydixies · 16/03/2010 15:07

oh Oops we're going to that in Edin in Sept although I booked a really stupid weekend as its the same as the air show - I only got tickets for DD2 and D though, thought DD1 might be a bit so maybe DH can take her to the air show instead

LWFH - salad???!!!! nice bread and salad might work?

Loti - hope Dd2 better soon, its horrible when they're not well, wee soul

DD2 was a wee star at her jabs bless her

am sore from the physio though and she has decided she's not happy with the previous physio's work and wants a diagnosis rather than just excercises and hope for the best approach - am now being referred for an MRI at the hospital so goodness knows when that will be

right ladies, off to work with me - enjoy your evenings

oopsandbabycoconut · 16/03/2010 15:42

Dizz - hope tonight goes okay. Have just discovered there is a Bristol show at the end of September so will book those tonight

DD has won today's prize for most pretentious child - she came into the sitting room demanding a drink so I asked what she wanted the answer was 'cappuccino, mummy' I thought the carpenter was going to fall off the landing laughing. I have no idea where she gets it from as I only drink decaf latte'

TwilightSurfer · 16/03/2010 16:57

LONGWAY how about a sandwich with potato chips. No cooking involved!

My apologies for the onion smell. I just ate two vegetarian sushi bites. Shall I just say the SCALLIONS where PRIME! OMG! My own breath is about to knock ME out and brushing doesn't help.

My Grandma died today

She was the kindest, loveliest, most amazing woman and I miss her so much already

She was 82 and quite frail, she had been living with leukaemia for 14 years but I can't believe she is really gone. Oh Grandma Mollie

luckoftheirish · 16/03/2010 20:07

oh hots xxxx

cyteen · 16/03/2010 20:07

Oh no hotter, I am so sorry She must have been some woman to live through leukaemia for 14 years. RIP Mollie, clearly a much-loved lady.

Hope you're getting lots of hugs and support from Mr Pots and those gorgeous children xx

Off to drown my sorrows for a bit, please someone say something funny to lighten the mood when I am gone

cyteen · 16/03/2010 21:21

Here's a crap joke for you:

Why did the sand blush?

Because the sea weed.

Good jokes you two

Sometimes I wonder why DD thinks poo is so funny, then I realise it is probably because I do

Right, have drunk a lake bottle of wine and now it is bed time. I'm sure I will be back tomorrow with a stinking headache

RedLentil · 17/03/2010 00:48

Hots, so very sorry to hear about Grandma Mollie ...

She sounds lovely.

springaporesling · 17/03/2010 01:36

HP

TwilightSurfer · 17/03/2010 06:01

HI! It's just 2am here. I went in to help R find her pacey and found her sitting in the middle of vomit with a very stinky diaper on. Why is it all her favorite blankets were in her bed with her at the time. Dealing with cable issues to while she's trying to comfort watch Sprout. I soooooo can think of so many things I rather be doing right now.

luckoftheirish · 17/03/2010 07:00

dh being a right pita atm .. and dd2 still miserable with her cold.. not happy morning this morning.. tho sun is starting to sunshine to hopefully lift grumpy mood

oopsandbabycoconut · 17/03/2010 07:17

Morning all

TS - hope R is okay now and you are all back to sleep.

LOTI - will keep fingers crossed the AF arrives soon for you.

We are off to meet Peppa Pig today which should be fun - DD will either scream blue murder or be too excited to speak. DD has decided that 6 am is the best time to wake up so DH and I are taking turn to get up and he is really getting up too. Apparently I need my sleep

Thank you for the suggestions. I cooked beef stew and green mash (mash with broccoli, my mum's suggestion to see if DS will eat hidden vegetables, I will report back today and let you know). Veg hidden in pastry sometimes works, but not always.

Dizzy, nice bread and salad would be a staple of mine at home in the UK. Here much less choice in fruit and veg (the nice stuff is exported) so although generally low on food mile, makes fancy ssalads a bit more work. Beef on the other hand ridiculously cheao.

Hotter, so sorry about your grandma. Lots of thoughts.

cyteen · 17/03/2010 10:43

TS poor Reese, hoping she's back to her normal cheery self today.

As usual I have forgotten everything else I meant to say...have got this and next week off work so still in my pyjamas. Am supposed to be cleaning/sorting but CBA

DS has started saying yes to things - my life has suddenly got a whole lot easier although sometimes he still doesn't say yes to the right things, leading to the following at least once a day:

Me: DS, do you want a yoghurt/banana/drink?
DS: Yea
Me: Here you go
DS:
