lwfh DS is having shepherd's pie with sssssh carrot hidden in it for lunch! Did your DS fool for green mash? I love beef stew! did you put dumplings in it? oooh i'm getting hungry just thinking about it!!

sazz hello! enjoy your swim!

oops i just don't get peppa pig! hope you have fun though!

sorry to all i've forgotten.... there ends my brain dump!

oopsandbabycoconut · 17/03/2010 15:24

Afternoon all

Peppa was fantastic I thought DD would run screaming from a 6ft pig but she didn't she invaded the stage setup they had and ran straight for Peppa yelling 'Peeeppppa, Geeeoooorge' and is proudly telling everyone that 'George snuffle and snuggle me' There were loads of kids but everyone had their chance to say hello and they did a short story show then we were herded upstairs for interesting things like free books from bookstart and free toothbrushes from the local PCT then balloons and cake.

Miamla - I didn't get Peppa but we have discovered she is DD in pig form and heaven help Hector! Good call on the bed front.

Cyteen - hope your day of CBA has gone well

Sazz- hope you got your swim and E is feeling a bit better.

I need to be inspired for dinner but DD may well end up with a freezer spagbol or Beans on toast, DH has had chilli 2 nights running so best feed him something different.

TwilightSurfer · 17/03/2010 16:17

Cyteen I wish R would say YES. Her favorite word (literally) is MOVE! She uses in the proper context ALL THE TIME.

Oops do you have pictures of P and her celebrity rush. I love it when little ones aren't afraid of characters they love.

Miamla I am so jealous of your morning. I want to sleep in, just once.

Longway so you have St. Patty's Potatoes? LOL!

Sazzles you are the best friend any person on the planet could have. AND you get more done in one day than Donald Trump. YOU ARE MY HERO!

Lucky shall we organize a hunt? I'm getting fed up with two weeks worth of PMS!!!!!

Oh and more me...
I'm slightly embarrassed. My Pilates studio asked for testimonials from our last Pilates Challenge. I submitted mine after about 100 revisions. Welllllllll, they put mine in their mass communication for this year's Challenge. I blushed reading it then I felt really bad because mine was the ONLY ONE which tells me NOBODY ELSE submitted one. How sad!! I'm proud to have supported them!

Here's my testimonial:
Completely new to Pilates in September of 2009, I took a huge leap of faith by signing up for the six weeks Pilates Challenge in October after only three hours of private sessions and one mat class. At 38, I was searching for a way to rebuild my body after an emergency caesarean the year prior. The Challenge offered a way for me to commit to six consecutive weeks of physical training, four times a week, that included group support and daily motivational reminders. It didn?t take six weeks to begin seeing and feeling a change taking place within my body. The exercises were so deceiving; they felt almost effortless but with magnificent results. My core strength developed quickly allowing me to achieve more and more in each class. By the end of the Challenge I was completely hooked on Pilates. It is absolutely unbelievable, a practice no person should be without. I am thankful I took that leap of faith and committed to the Pilates Challenge. -TwilightSurfer

So many sicky kids!

Hots. You'll like my bonkers nephew's new joke:
Q: Why did the chicken fly away?
A: FIRE!!!

Cyteen PMSL at J.

Sazz Any job settlement news? Have I missed a bit?

My stupid car needs another £150 and 48hrs+ spent on it. Looks like I will no longer be a mobile mummy this summer.

Fingers crossed DH will be kind enough to catch the train to work on Friday so me and the kids can go see Corfu friend's new house - sorry, google earthed it, mansion - in Surrey at last. It has a gate, a long bendy drive and is surrounded by trees. V excited to see what she's doing with it, she has impeccable taste and anal cleaning skills but usually pulls off homey rather than showhomey.

I walked the 3m home from town this afternoon . Actually I spent my bus money on coffee by mistake so there wasn't any choice in the matter.

TwilightSurfer · 17/03/2010 17:33

Buckets I wish you live close. I'd haul you around anytime. ((((hugs)))) Sorry I laughed a little about the bus money/coffee mistake. That is soooo something I'd do.

OP posts:
GladioliBuckets · 17/03/2010 18:12

D'you know it will be fine. 2yrs ago I was desperate for one but things are way different now. Squirt is already holding hands really nicely and will be out of the pushchair in a year so not too much bus squeeze hassle. Plus DS1 is good as gold now, I could quite easily manage all 3 on a bus.

Wow, I just did a doubletake! I will finally be pushchair and nappy free in the not too distant future. It's been nearly 7 years solid of nappy changing but there is light at the end of the tunnel! I'll need a teeny tiny Lulu Guiness handbag to celebrate, I think...

GladioliBuckets · 17/03/2010 18:14

Oh yes and 2yrs ago there was no way DH could catch a train to work, I might even be able to wangle the car one day a week...

cyteen · 17/03/2010 18:41

Buckets have you done anything in particular to help K get on board with hand-holding? And do you have any tips on how to encourage a toddler to walk with you, rather than charge in the opposite direction? DS loves to be free of the pushchair but it takes ages to get anywhere due to his constant free running, so he doesn't get the chance as much as either of us would like.

oopsandbabycoconut · 17/03/2010 19:51

Cyteen - DD has a set of backpack reins which she loves and will happily run with them on and has recently learnt that when she walks without them and I say hold hands she must or she gets carried/put in the pushchair.

We have just had another names crisis tonight - we were in the supermarket when some less than savory person who appeared slightly drunk out of control woman yelled - alllleeesia gerr ova ere now and carry this (this being a 4 pack of beer and Aleeeeesiiiiaaaaaa being all of about 9) or I'll clout you. (slight polite change of phrase by me) and we both did a double take and said simultaniously said 'It's too close isn't it' Back to the start now!

Buckets- bother about the car but think of how good all the walking will be for you and at least the car waited until the weather was slightly better for walking.

GladioliBuckets · 17/03/2010 19:59

Nah, it's just his personality I think, and it may not last anyway... I used reins for DD (though she had a buggy board to jump on) and DS1 was impossible full stop unless strapped into the pushchair. Reins work if your child is not as stubborn as you - I put this to the test with DD and after 20mins calmly dragging her inch by inch along the street screaming, she finally gave in. Surprising how many people think they have the right to butt in/comment considering I did NOT look in the least ruffled! With DS1 it wasn't about who's boss, there is no arguing with a fruitloop happily lying in a muddy gutter because he's had enough of walking.

Harrumph Sazz. See if I grace you all with my jokes again!

DS does have reins which are good sometimes (they were a big hit in Ikea, many kids get lost in there every day according to the staff) but I haven't been brave enough to drag him along the pavement yet when he's trying to go the other way. Maybe I'll try that next time

TS test test test! I need my vicarious excitement.

GladioliBuckets · 17/03/2010 20:22

Sazz It's Windlesham - don't think anything goes for less than a cool mil on her road!

GladioliBuckets · 17/03/2010 20:30

Hanging around again, trying to pluck up courage to go make peace with DH as we've had a minor fight. Am going to have to be bigger person I think and though I am of course right, I think perhaps he feels his argument more in this case and it is linked to his feelings on other matters too. Ie. perhaps he wants to change something to make up for other things he can't change. I always say that the argument should go to the person who really cares more about the issue, so I had better stand by my tenets - does that make sense?

oopsandbabycoconut · 17/03/2010 20:39

Buckets - Go kiss and make up!

TwilightSurfer · 17/03/2010 21:14

I love reins and jacket hoods (they work the same for me with the girls). Reese has definitely walked more than DD1 did at this age. I think. She loves to walk. Favorite words: DOWN! OUTSIDE! (and MOVE! of course).

Cyteen quite honestly I'm bored of thinking I could be pregnant. I did google the failure rates of snips. It really isn't possible anymore with the type procedure that burns and takes out a huge section. I just have to wait for my hormones to reset. Not sure why I'd be off cycle. Can't remember anything drastic happening during the last 38 days. Pretty non-eventful month.

Oops I've seen so many names today that I thought would be wonderful for you to use. That link I FBemailed has some baby names (new births) to the right side of the page. At least one of those sounded good to me for you. Adriana is the name of the author on the book directly in front of me. Julia is the name of my pilates instructors newest addition. You could always consider my fall back kid names: Lulu and Roxy! LOL! I still think those names work for my girls. Their other potential names were Emory Kate and Maggie Ethelyn. Again, I both sets of names would be perfect for my munchkins. Totally love Vivianne still. Georgia Vivianne to be precise. Viv or Vivi for short.

Sazzles you consume too much caffeine!

my kids are showing signs of television and cereal addiction. does that make me a bad mother? when considering the answer to that question please keep in mind the time changed this week IN THE WRONG DIRECTION.

Lol TS and lovely names

DS ok in reins some of the time but I was like Buckets yesterday with the raised eyebrows as I tried to wrestle him into the pushchair after playgroup . It seems he doesn't understand the meaning of it's for your own safety yet...

Sazz any news from work?

Only just over a week till we set off - I for one will be glad when the clocks go forward as it might help slightly with DS jet-lag! SIL-to-be has booked lots of lovely treats pre-wedding and a night out in Leeds too as I'm missing the hen do. My problem is I don't own any warm clothes any more. There are some at Mum's house but I doubt any of them fit me and they're all 3 years old!

Miamla · 18/03/2010 06:22

spring a ling (sorry, always read your name as this!) can we post stuff to your mum's for you? I'm sure I've got a spare jumper kicking around that i won't miss until next winter (especially given my expanding waist line). Although, it is actually slightly warmer here now. I went out without my coat on yesterday (but did have it in the car just in case!) If you do want to borrow something, give me a rough idea of size and colour (and of course fb me your mum's address!)

gah! i need tea before i type anymore! had a bit of a crazy afternoon... registry office to pick up something or other than must be hand delievered to bristol reg office before wedding , then over to new hosp for blood tests, booking appts and scans etc (new hosp feels so much nicer than where i had DS) and then a long supermarket trip. really wish i'd get more organised and do it on the internet more! got home and went to bed when DS did at 8pm!

right, i'm off to make a cup of tea, shout quickly if anyone else wants one and i'll be back in a minute or two!

oopsandbabycoconut · 18/03/2010 06:29

Mialma - Do you wqant to special delivery to me and I can drop it off for you? Any excuse for a zoo trip! I'll have atea thanks, milk no sugar

s DD been awake since 5.40 but is still tired - I think it is just habit and i am going to have to take her on about it. I need to bake so it's not too bad today.

back when the cookies are in the oven.
