Evening. Hey CC! 2 matches in 2 days is much too energetic...

LOTI they are on my to-read list too! Though I heard they are a bit hard to get into at first? I have been on a spree of reading really retro 'tec fic recently so something a little more contemporary might be no bad thing.

DH is enchanted that you liked Tosca, Sazz. Take no notice of Dizzy and Cyteen He also approves to some extent of Dido, but would like to throw in Arianna, Lavinia and Clorinda. (Oops my dear I hope you don't mind him being silly. I know you are going to choose something beautiful for your lovely girl really. Those pictures are wonderful, you had a good day then? )

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/03/2010 21:47

Pert - Dh laughed at Tosca as we had a cat called Tosca not so long ago!

We think we have a name for her it is something I suggested to DH many moons ago and he dismissed without second thought but on seeing it in a baby name book today decided that it was her name. She was almost Katya nn Kitty then DH found and is in love with Elysia (e-lee-see-uh) - it means blissful heaven and is taken in part from the name the Romans gave the heaven where the brave and virtuous went. She will more than likely be Ellie for short. P and Elysia seem to go well. I know it will get it's fair share of but so did P and I won't advertise it on the names board!

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/03/2010 21:53

A quick ask - if you comment on her piccieso n FB please don't say it's a she - no one knows apart from us, parents and you lot!

sambo303 · 06/03/2010 21:53

evening all
thank you for your thoughtful and kind comments re the dp/dc2 thing - it's lovely to have a group of ladies who care and i can moan to. ds screaming, back later

pertelote · 06/03/2010 21:56

Oops that is indeed lovely. I agree it is a good match.

cyteen · 06/03/2010 22:04

I don't think Elysia will raise too many eyebrows oops, it's lovely and not particularly 'out there' (although be prepared for people to mishear and assume Alicia).

What a day; poor DS is either brewing an ear infection or simply having major teeth pain, the poor thing has been miserable all day. Lots of crying and gnashing on his hands I have been watching 50s-inspired make-up tutorials to calm myself down - isn't this girl simply stunning?

hotterpotter · 06/03/2010 22:06

Oops that is beautiful

Cece you are mad

TS right back atcha

VG I hope you are enjoying your meal out

Loti I haven't been to Paphos but know plenty of people who have and who loved it. Mine and DH's first holiday together was to Ayia Napa which was ace, although not as clubbing as it sounds due to us going the last two weeks in November...

Buckets don't you be getting broody too

Everyone else I have missed,

I am after some camera advice as ours has been dropped and will no longer zoom in or out. Can't decide whether to go for a £70 ish one as we are strictly amateurs or push the boat out a bit more for a swishier one. We spent £200 4 years ago and the camera is knackered so...

Quite like http://www.cameras.co.uk/reviews/Panasonic-dmc-ft1.cfm this one which I could get for £200 on ebay but in a yucky orange colour, so does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/03/2010 22:08

Cyteen we have thought of the Elysia/Alicia problem, we figured DD1 will have lots of 'pardon?' at her name so DD2 can deal with 'no, not Alicia - Elysia'

hotterpotter · 06/03/2010 22:11

oops I nearly put 'ooh doesn't she look like her sister' but had a flash of sense at the last minute! She does though

Cyteen for J, hope it's a one-off and he's back to his normal self tomorrow. I let DS have a go at washing up today; unfortunately the results were not as successful as your experiment and we just ended up with a soaked DS/floor/worktop... he did enjoy pouring the water everywhere and eating the bubbles though

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/03/2010 22:16

Cyteen - missed J wasn't feeling great, hope he is chipper again soon.

DD went to bed with 'Mummy bed best, I crying now, sleep mummy bed' (no tears at and a smile)then lay in her bed chanting 'ow, ow,ow I crying now, uppa me' She really has got the hang of this manipulation thing!

HP - we have canon cameras - I have a little Ixus and DH has a bigger 30D I love my camera and it is often responsible for some of our best ever picture. Not too expensive either.

hotterpotter · 06/03/2010 22:20

oops it's no wonder your DD is still so tiny - she is using ALL her energy growing her brain . The nearest DS would get to that would be 'mumeeeee mumeeee mumeeee uh uh uh' Oh, and he is very good at saying caaaake. Glad it's DH not me taking him to the 18 month check-up next week

CaptainCaveman · 06/03/2010 22:23

Me, mad hotpot? Whatever do you mean

cyteen poor little J, praying he is feeling his usual self tomorrow

loti we went to Paphos for our honeymoon - it was mid July and frickin roasting but lots of fun. We mainly sunbathed, ate and drank , saw a few sights but my lasting memory is of Woolworths in the town!

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/03/2010 22:24

HP - I tried the thing QOD said the other day about them only needing 6tbsp of food per meal and served DD 7 tbsp of dinner tonight she ate it all and said - 'where's more??' she then at 3 more same sized portions and a yogurt. She should be a giant blobby baby. No 18 month checks her we don't see HV until 3 now

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/03/2010 22:25

I keep missing Cece - Helloooooooo

CaptainCaveman · 06/03/2010 22:26

Evening all

Taken a while to catch up (which I have kind of done). ((hugs)) to those of you having a difficult time.

Oops Elysia is a lovely name

DS2 is 5 tomorrow. I remember his birth almost better than DD's - it was snowing the day he was born, we went for a long walk, 4 hour labour and then a back to back baby who went up and down the birth canal about 5 times before he finally decided to come out . Think he was just setting the scene for things to come... . My baby boy is growing up

ataraxis · 06/03/2010 22:41

Wedding crashers on in the background - dh has just told me he thinks crashing weddings to pull women would be a great hobby

ataraxis · 06/03/2010 22:45

oops I am (in a good way) about your dd's speech!

hots dd shakes her head vehemently any time bed is mentioned... she has cake tendencies too

ataraxis · 06/03/2010 22:46
ataraxis · 06/03/2010 22:48

Staring at the piles of ironed clothes on the floor. I don't mind the ironing too much, it's the putting away that pushes me over the edge

ataraxis · 06/03/2010 22:49

OK, bored of talking to myself now. Going to do something constructive (like sleep before the insane day that tomorrow will bring). Night night

hotterpotter · 06/03/2010 22:57

Five minutes and she gives up... lightweight

Good luck tomorrow Ataraxis hopefully you won't need it...
