This was the only thing I could remember some saying should be the next title!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LadyThompson · 02/03/2010 16:51

I think the kids' clothes are good but I have bought several things from there for me over the last 18 months and many of them end up discarded after a few wears. I think it's because I am fat and therefore nothing looks good.

Mmm, why is cheese so NICE?

Beans33 · 02/03/2010 17:08

HA! I asked DH that very question last night! Hilarious!

He is out tonight, so I am going to have chicken and chips with peas. Marvellous. We had 4 little children for lunch on Sunday and gave them fish fingers and chips, so loads left over and I'm going to trough my heart out. And tomorrow night, DH is away overnight with work, so I'm having a chinese take away extravaganza. I will roll into work on Thursday. Hee hee! Hopefully fragrant with crispy duck!

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 17:09

Aaargh I wrote a post a few hours ago but my battery died just as I was going to send it. It was mostly missing my little English garden in Derby, with it's lavender, rosemary and mint AND my lovely veggie garden that we almost lived off last summer (still eating the green tom chutney). The garden here is small and paved mostly it is nice and light but no direct sunlight for very long so not much chance to grow anything.

Lady the herbs were very pot bound, they were the type you get from the supermarket in the little pot, but they kept going (despite DS2'a best efforts to eat them). So i rewarded their resilience and gave them a new home.

Beans I love growing mint too, it's called Munt over here which makes me giggle cos it sounds vaguely rude.

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 17:20

Haha Beans I used to get chinese takeaway when DH went away. Our local was a minimum £12 for delivery which is a lot of Chinese food for 1 vegetarian!

Beans33 · 02/03/2010 17:22

Our minimum is £15 and somehow I always manage to spend it! And will eat the leftovers for lunch the next day - hurray!

Already dreaming - quarter crispy duck, which I will eat all of! Chicken in chilli and blackbean sauce with egg fried rice and seaweed. Oh yay. I wish he was going tonight!!!

EffiePerine · 02/03/2010 17:22

Veggie: you'll be pleased to hear that every time I visit amazon now I have to I have to hide the screen quick. Must buy more books!

I have been rubbish with the garden all winter, it needs some serious work. Next door have chckens - well, they had three, then one flew off, then the other went running somewhere and DH reported an empty coop this morning. I suspect our local fox is now well fed.

LadyThompson · 02/03/2010 17:30

Oh crikey, this talk of food is doing me no good at all Am now starving and won't be having supper for hours. I have cleaned a load of celery sticks so I suppose I had better eat those

And possible one dry poppadom, a snip at only 32 calories.

And supper will be tenderstem broccoli, sprouts and curly kale, plus a baked potato or possibly some Quorn chilli burgers Humph, boring.

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 17:32

Why Effie, are you tempted to buy a copy? Haha just thought Amazon will be coming up with great suggestions for you now. I actually had a little peak at it today...ok i've read several chapters pages.

SummerLightning · 02/03/2010 17:32

I'm out for a CURRY tonight.

(sorry ladyt)

LadyThompson · 02/03/2010 17:32

Oh, and if we are having virtual Chinese,
mine's:

Spring Rolls
Crispy seaweed
Some sort of deep friend tofu dish
Something noodly

Yum. And boo hoo!

LadyThompson · 02/03/2010 17:35

Whatever you do, Summer, don't have anything 'deep friend' (OBviously I meant fried).

I had a takeaway curry at my Mum's on Friday night I was a guest, I couldn't possibly refuse.

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 17:35

Oh now i want a baked potato with monks vegetables!

LadyThompson · 02/03/2010 17:37

What on earth are monks vegetables?

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 17:38

And Singapore noodles zonder meat!

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 17:41

No idea just some veggies stir fried with cornflour thick sauce. Probably monks liked them so they always call them that. DH just said it 's vegetarian (obviously) so probably monks ate them cause they are vegetarian.

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 17:45

DS1 has started skateboarding, he is in the loungeroom with all his knee, elbow & wrist guards he looks so cute. DH is showing him how to do an ollie, DS1 asked where his guards are and DH said he doesn't have any. DS1 said 'is that because your really good'. So funny, DH now has a helmet on.

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 17:46

Salt & pepper tofu!

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 17:50

Salt & pepper tofu!

LadyThompson · 02/03/2010 17:55

It's no use posting it twice Veggie, it isn't on my menu tonight and is only causing me angst

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 18:31

Sorry Maggie

I've just been on a thread abou having boys, it made me cry. I love when mums say lovely things and give an insight into their lives. It's really made me settle with idea of just having my 2 boys and realise how blessed I am. Kayz you should have look it would brighten you up.

Beans33 · 02/03/2010 19:42

I discovered I quite like tofu the other day! Much to my surprise - it's really soft and delicious in miso soup!

LadyThompson · 02/03/2010 19:45

Oh no - are we STILL on about food? Haven't had supper yet. You lot are torturing me! I love tofu though I know it does not have a glamorous reputation. But I like the marinated kind, or smoked, or deep fried and crispy...aaaargh.

Beans33 · 02/03/2010 19:52

I'm about to have something you might not like - chicken and chips and peas. I'm very excited. But the chicken and chips are baked, not fried, so don't feel too bad. BUT ketchup on everything. Yummers!

DD has apparently been really sick twice today. But when I got home, she was really perky and has gone to sleep well. I've asked the nanny not to say anything to the nannyshare parents!!! I just know if they knew, they'd get me to take the day off work tomorrow and I cannot take another day off!!! Plus she doesn't have a temperature and seems really well, so I don't want them to go into paranoid mode. Of course, if she's ill in the night and tomorrow morning, then I'll definitely stay home with her, but I'm hoping all well in the morning.

Beans33 · 02/03/2010 20:05

Already crying in Extreme Parenting!

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 21:00

I could live on braised tofu, so fattening but so yummy, and tempeh I love it.

Just back from yoga DS2 behaved but woke just as I got home, he's sorted now and I'm about to start on my dinner. Tonight it's my signature aubergine dish which i started before I went out and DH finished off. Yummmmmmmmmyyyyy!
