OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Kayzr · 02/03/2010 21:09

Veggie!!!! You did make me smile on facebook. Thanks ever so much.

traceface · 02/03/2010 21:25

hello
kayz I'm so sorry about your situation. Nothing new to add but I'm thinking of you. You will come through this.
veggie glad to hear you sounding more healthy and happy. You can get back to VeggieParadise now your friends have gone home Oh and Kerry Mangle was a lovely character - shame she was shot!
I'm loving the descriptions of people we've not met . I want to know how I'm seen (because it's all about me . Actually I have met kayz and there is a lady in the playground who I see each morning and she looks so like kayz that I actually have to remind myself that it's not her, but in my head that's her name!
Well Lucy was sick today at the end of school and again at home Poor thing. She seemed to perk up just before bed though so hopefully it's a short-lived thing. My fave part was trying to wash all the puke off the driveway, the doormat and my shoes
beans hope your dd sleeps all night and doesn't use special baby code to tell her nanny-share pal about her sickness
Off to bed shortly, but can I just add some crispy shredded chicken, some seaweed and a few prawn crackers, and can I share a little of Ladyt's noodley stuff? I'll pass on the tofu though - it's one of those things that for some reason I'm a bit scared to try . Hope you've had something to eat now Lady. I've just eaten a bun that Phoebe 'made' at nursery today, so who knows how many babies sneezed into the mix! Tasted fine

Kayzr · 02/03/2010 21:31

I'm going to have to learn to cook!! H is a brilliant cook and he enjoys it so I just let him get on with it. So now I have to do it all. Well that's how I'll lose the weight. We'll starve!!!!

I lost 4.5lbs last week so I am 2lb of a stone since Jan 1st.

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 22:15

Kayz you just reminded me I haven't been on the fatties thread for ages. It's dropped off my threads list better find it, will weigh in morgan.

Trace, DS1 & I made a tea & honey loaf today and it's all gone. DH & I demolished it.

Kayz go to Delia online she'll help you out.

zoejeanne · 02/03/2010 22:22

Kayz I'm so sorry to hear about you and your DH . Did you say tomorrow is the day he is going? What a difficult day you have ahead. Remember we all love you and are hear to listen to you. And blooming well done on the weight loss, that is great.

WG DD has also turned into a nightmare sleeper since she turned one(literally happened on her birthday). We waited 10 months for her to sleep through (although I admit she was still a reasonable sleeper before then, not a patch on some of the babies on here) and got 2 blissful months and then ARRRGGGH. She wakes and has proper tantrums - stamping, screaming and point blank refusing to go back into her cot. So we also bring her into bed, and in the last week that's been the signal for her to start an hour of playtime and bouncing on our heads. We are not impressed. During the day we resolve to not give in until she re-settles in her cot, however much patting soothing singing it takes, but in the middle of the night we have no stamina to see it through, especially when we have to get up for work. I too am at my tits end and canÃ?Â?t see how to end this. Anyone else any ideas? (BTW I'm not BF anymore but wish I was so I could use the power of the boob)

Effie sorry to hear your Mum isn' great. I too am a believer in plans and spreadsheets, I hope that you can help your parents out

Aubi at what you thought everyone looked like! I daren't ask about me?!

Trace I accidently ate tofu once, thinking it was potato, and it was a big shock. I've never dared try it since. I'm sure I would've liked it, had I expected tofu and not potato

Turnip you wanted to see where we stayed on holiday look here, I hope you agree it's pretty amazing?! (and a MN discount)

Can I ask what sort of cups babies are drinking from at the moment? DD has got the hang of a spout, which is useful for leaving a cup around for her to get drinks during the day, rather than me having to give her the open cup. But should she be drinking from a hard or soft spout - there were about a million different ones in Boots!

Ok, fingers crossed that maybe DD will sleep like an angel for me tonight, as DH is away (she did for him last week, when I was away ). Night night everyone x

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 22:41

ZJ I don't think it really matters, I think just go with her preference. DS2 flately refuses to use a beaker, he
will only drink out of a cup. This is fine but means I can only really give him a drink when he is in his high chair as otherwise he will just drop the cup when he is standing. Clearly I can't give him milk at bedtime.

I love power of the boob. I wished we'd used that for a thread title.

Veggiemummy · 02/03/2010 22:42

Oh and sorry about the sleep. DS2 doesn't jump
on us but when he's teething he enjoys waking us with a high pitched squeal.

Beans33 · 03/03/2010 10:33

Morning All

DD slept through the night and had eaten an enormous breakfast this morning when I left for work. So I don't feel so bad for keeping quiet yesterday about the vomitting. Phew.

She uses a beaker for her juice/water and I'm still on a bottle for her morning and bedtime milk. Can't quite bring myself to drop it. I know I must soon!!!

My chicken and chips last night was delicious, but I am still far more excited about my take away tonight - bliss! Got the most boring meeting for 3 hours this pm - training on a new system at work. Dear God. And my sciatica is playing up a treat, so need to walk around regularly, which is a bonus for escaping the meeting regularly!! Sore right bum cheek. V embarrassing. going for more physio tomorrow - company pays - hurray!

Hope all ok this morning.

xx

Veggiemummy · 03/03/2010 10:35

Where is everyone? Please don't tell me your all working, Trace it's your day off, I realise you are probably looking after your sick DD1 but you need a coffee surely.

We are off to London tomorrow, I don't think I'm going to get around to arranging a meet up. I think Turnip said she was around but I've just been a bit crap with thinking about what we are doing and also DH took forever to decide which night he and his mates were going out so I've been left with Saturday night and haven't really thought about it. Maybe next time. We should really have booked to return Monday as we've not left ourselves much time to do shopping, the boys see the game and catch up with friends. It would have been nice to have Sunday to meet some people. Oh well should still be nice. I think we are going to do some shopping and go to the British museum on Friday so I'm looking forward to that.

Beans33 · 03/03/2010 11:06

I'm at work - and weirdly, am really busy! Just not like me at all!

Oh have a brilliant time in London, Veggie - will be fantastic to come over and see a few friends!

I'm desperate for the loo. Must head off!

EffiePerine · 03/03/2010 11:13

Enjoy your weekend in London veggie . I'm off today and was hoping for some sunshine, but it's grey and cold here.

Spoke to mum last night, she's on all sorts of interesting drugs and is orbiting near the ceiling, but she's sleeping ok and is at least aware that she isn't well. She's also getting daily visits from the psych team, they're keeping an eye on things but no indication yet that she has to be treated in hospital. It's early days but looking better than it was a day or so ago.

Hope those restless babies let up last night, we had a 5.30 start but no middle of the night screams.

Beans33 · 03/03/2010 11:27

Effie - I'm so sorry to ask, but must have missed it somewhere in the thread - what is wrong with your Mum? Sorry to be a pain and an ignoramus. x

katie3677 · 03/03/2010 11:42

Veggie have a lovely time in London. I have also been inspired by the weather and went and bought some plants yesterday to brighten up my garden (I never get around to planting Spring bulbs!) and was then told that it is due to snow again this weekend...arse

Kayz, so sorry that you are going through a rough time at the moment. I hope this break gives you both a chance to reflect and repair.

Beans, you crack me up . I feel like i'm in the office with you sometimes, which is good as it is just me on my tod working here so I need some light relief occasionally.

Tofu bleurgh! Can't stand the stuff, feels like I'm eating a sponge.

Can't remember any other personals I'm afraid and should get on with some work while DD is asleep.

Oh, and AF turned up last week so am definitely not expecting # 3 yet, and and a little bit .

Thanks for the very helpful SATC wardrobe advice Lady Thatcher . I am going to find a large flower for my dress and ridiculous bow for my hair at the weekend and team it with simple black dress and jacket. That'll just have to do. No high heels though, I'm 5'11" and look stupid in heels, especially as I physically can't walk in them.

Work, work, work...............

Beans33 · 03/03/2010 11:56

5'11" - I dream of height. Would be lovely! Long legs and everything. And I'm 5'6" (with a strong wind behind me), so am not that short. Just feel a bit teeny compared to long legged lovelies. DH only 5'11" so hardly a giant himself, but when I'm barefoot, he goes on about how little I am. Really am bog standard average!

I bought myself a lovely top from H&M yesterday for fatties pregnant ladies for £19.99 and am wearing it today. It's got batwings and is black, so I feel a bit like a crow, however, have been assured that I look much better than usual today - haha! I'm off to flap myself to my meeting shortly - caw caw.

Have even given up cramming myself into my non-maternity work trousers and am wearing some maternity trousers I found in my cupboard and I should have done it weeks ago - so comfortable! Big band up to my tits - heaven! And so cosy on the tummy. YAY!

I'm in a really good mood today - can you tell? I think it's the lurking thought of crispy duck tonight. Dribble.

Rubena · 03/03/2010 12:17

Beans! I bought the exact same top and I love it! it's great for small bump and looks like it will be really good right through. I think it's very flattering as it covers teacher arm / bingo wings etc... plus i've got those horrible red bumps on the back of my arms.
O -ed at the descriptions of everyone. hate to think who I was thought to resemble!
Horrible night recently with ds. terrible molar cutting through and after down at 7 drugged up he woke at 11 screaming in pain. Some gel on and all fine until grizzling at 1,3 and 6 but I left him each time and he was back asleep in minutes. I'm a terrible mother as I assumed it was still his teeth but awful red raw bum in the morning with very old poo and many a wee there had to bathe and cake with sudocrme and now all fine so last night was back to normal
Kayz hope things are pregressing for the better.
have been gardening a bit myself in preperation for Barby season after all this great weather, and am going to attempt to grow tomatoes this year however haven't the first clue and my 4 little teeny plants in a massively oversized pot on my window sill aren't looking promising
I have booked Spain now so very excited about that despite the fact I'll be 34 weeks just gotta organise the ferry now

Rubena · 03/03/2010 12:19

sorry crap typing / spelling

Kayzr · 03/03/2010 12:23

Just to let everyone know that DH is staying. He was meant to leave an hour ago but I want him to stay so much. It's going to be lots of hard work but we need to give it a really good go.

EffiePerine · 03/03/2010 12:37

Katie; sorry, am being rather cryptic! Mum is bipolar (manic depression) but without the bi - she has periodic episodes of mania that can usually be controlled pretty well. Sometimes they aren't and at worst she has to go into hospital to be treated as she gets to the stage where she doesn't know who anyone is and keeps wandering off. This hasn't happened in years, the last really bad patch was when I was at uni. I'm hoping that the home support she's getting will help, the level of psych support seems much better than it was.

Anyway, may ask for this to be deleted as not 100% sure it should stay on a googlable forum! Mum did ask my sister not to put anything on fb (hell of an update that would be ;))

EffiePerine · 03/03/2010 12:40

X-posted with loads there- kayz that is a brave and I think good decision for the time being. I hope your dh is going to make a damn good effort, he has a fair amount of ground to make up!

LadyThompson · 03/03/2010 13:05

Kayz, if he is committed to regaining your trust and you are committed to finding it in your heart to forgive him I see no reason why you can't put it behind you in time. Good luck - I think working it through is a very mature decision so good for you. Everyone's here to support you.

I'm glad your Mum seems to be getting a decent amount of support, Effie. It's nice to hear something positive about mental health services, actually.

Beans, I am 5'6" as well and as a matter of fact you can tell your DH that as the average height for a UK woman is just under 5'4" and the average height for a UK man is 5'9", you are more than two inches above average whilst he is a mere two inches above average. DP is always telling me how short I am but given that he is nearly 6'1" we still have the same inside leg measurement (in fact I think my legs are fractionally longer), I WIN. Competitive? Moi?

Katie and Aubi are our tallest contributors, I think.

Glad you have booked Spain, Rubes. I'm off to Switzerland for my cricket tour first weekend in May, then Sweden (with Aubi) for last weekend in May, which we have extended for a few days. Unless either of us have a sudden surge in income I can't see any other holidays this year as the house and this new baby are costing a bomb and I won't have any savings left at all. Unless I win a holiday in Take a Break of course

I might get that top for later on, before all the summer stuff comes in.

traceface · 03/03/2010 13:08

kayz this must be so hard for you. I guess reaching the moment of truth has perhaps brought out your true deep feelings. I really admire you for trying so hard to make this work. Like you said, you do love him - and you have your boys to think of too - do the boys know anything about what's happening with you and dh? Thinking of you as you work through this. I guess if all fails (don't mean to sound negative) then at least you've given it everything. Ladyt's practical advice seemed very good and worth doing. Would dh be up for that kind of thing - laking lists, putting thought and effort in?
Beans you actually made me laugh out loud with your caw-cawing in your crow top
rubs I also laughed at you 'booking Spain' - in my rather crazy sleep deprived head you have booked the entire country, so all other residents and holiday makers have to vacate it for you I wonder what it would cost to book Spain?
Veggie I love that you know when our days off are! Lucy is full of beans again today so is at school but I take P to 'small talk' now from 9.30 till 11, so by the time I get home and lunched and get her to bed, it's about now that I get to rest my lazy arse catch up on housework
P slept through last night from 6pm till 6.25am!!! I won't be so stupid as to assume the same tonight but it's another of those little reminders that we'll get there one day...
effie that sounds very hard about your mum. It sounds good that she has insight at the moment, so hopefully she can stay at home. Does you dad manage ok? How hard for you all. Thinking of you xxx
My CPN was due today but I got another call saying she's ill again. I've seen her on and off (admittedly more on than off ) for the past 5 years and I don't think she's ever been off ill and had to cancel before, so two consecutive weeks is really unusual - she must be quite unwell. I'm feeling good though so not concerned about checking in with her.
I'm having a little ishoo with work (I still love it!) but I keep having to work bits of Wednesdays and it's getting a bit hard to manage. I'm supposed to to next wed am, the following wed pm then all day the wed after. DH is a bit miffed, and I am too TBH, mainly because it's my only day with just P and I'm enjoying taking her to Small Talk and hanging out with her. I'm going to speak to my manager and see if I can miss any of the wednesday things.
wg hi! Sorry forgot to say hi the other day. P now tends to sleep the first half of the night, then wakes about 3 or 4, but will
usually settle with water and a dummy, then wakes around 5 or 6, when I BF her to send her back to sleep till 6.30 or 7. If she wonlt settle at 3 or 4 then I BF just so I can get back to sleep. I guess I'm still working on the basis that you do what it takes to keep as many people happy for as much of the time as you can. Knickers to the people tutting at me for still BF!
I should go for now - back later xxx

traceface · 03/03/2010 13:13

ladyt it's lovely to see you here and cross-posts with you, but shouldn't you be working?

LadyThompson · 03/03/2010 13:23

Trace, it's great that you are feeling strong. Hurrah! And so very glad L has perked up. Hope you can adjust your Wednesdays at work.

Oh, Veg, I meant to say - I'm on London from Sat but it's all a bit hectic as have dinners out on Sat and Sun and need to do course prep in the days. I do dream fondly of doing some sort of overseas meet up.

Someone was asking about drinking vessels (ZJ?) - like Beans, I am still giving O at least two bottles a day because she drinks far more that way and being such a faddy eater, I worry that the formula is her base. Haven't moved on to cows milk yet for same reason (i'm a sucker for all those extra vitamins they bung in it). When she has a sippy she doesn't mind which sort of spout, it's more that she finds some handles more enjoyable to hold than others

LadyThompson · 03/03/2010 13:24

Oh Trace I SHOULD be working! You are absolutely right! I have got a block about this course prep which is stupid because I have analysed and assessed oodles of scripts over the years. Right. Must.get.to.it...

Rubena · 03/03/2010 14:14

ah Trace if only I could book the whole country! However it would defeat the purpose of the trip really with over 10 thousand going to this little village for a bike race
Lady, the top is kind of summery as well - well i'll be wearing it right the way through - it looks quite cool with the wing arms!
Katie! No heels? at 5'11 you most definitely should wear heels! At any height in fact!

I just did a Veggie and forgot to click post so this is very old.....
