lily at fast delivery, hope sis and lo are settling down well? - glad it has all gone well and that you are feeling a bit better now the two big things (baby and house move) have been dealt with. Well dealing with baby obv only just started! - congrates

Simpson have already told you what I think - very proud of J and of you as fab Mum doing it all on your own. And so glad you've given into my nagging on fb and have started posting again here

Gingeme hope runs settling down/not spreading

Hi to all - doing ok here atm - struggling with work and feeling somewhat run over by a train if i do too much but still getting stronger.

fillybuster · 17/03/2010 14:15

Congrats Aunty Lilyloo ...hope you're feeling better and able to enjoy time with the new lo really soon

Simpson - well done J So pleased for you and him....funnily enough, we had A's parents evening last week and a similar turnaround in terms of feedback....I told you we share the same children

Hope George is feeling better now, Gingeme, and that no-one else has picked up the bug? Glad you had such a nice time at playgroup though

OK, really must get back to work, catch up properly soon....

LaTrucha · 17/03/2010 22:13

Bum just lost a post about how good nursery is for Sabela due to rubbish internet conection at the mo.

Hmm.

Do any of you ever feel like printing all out post-natal threads and keeping them as a record? I'd love to, but I probably never will.

gingeme · 18/03/2010 11:18

Morning ladies.
Funny you should say that LaT I was looking at my old pre natal threads when I was expecting ds4. Ah bought back some lovely memories
George is just fine and touch wood (taps head) none of the other boys seem to have picked it up
Simpson the amount of cups, dummies, mobile phones we have lost in toy boxes you just would not believe. Glad you found the shoes
Well I hope you are all well on this sunny spring day xx

LaTrucha · 18/03/2010 15:50

I may just go and hunt them down then and put themn in 'watch' so I don't lose them. I haven't actually got a printer because I use it so rarely that the ink always dried out before the next use.

simpson · 18/03/2010 15:54

Ahhhhhhhh

Now M has got the same as George...

She is being sick all the time

Really wanted to go to keep fit class tomorrow too (and put M in creche)

Grrrr

LaTrucha · 18/03/2010 15:56

The ones from year 1 seem to have gone.

Bum, Simpson. Hope it passes soon.

simpson · 18/03/2010 17:20

phew!! My dad has saved the day and is going to have her tomorrow for a couple of hrs so I can still go to keep fit!!

She asked to go to bed at 5pm and is in the land of ZZZZ already

Lilyloo · 18/03/2010 18:12

Thanks all , she is abs lovely But am glad to hand her back to mum and come home

There a lot of kids coming down with that sickness bug here too , L had it last week and niece had it earlier this week.
Hope it soon passes for all your lo's!

Iwill fab to see you getting slowly stronger

I haven't really looked back at any old threads , must do i bet it is nice to read them.

Has Lucky had her lo yet ?

willsurvivethis · 18/03/2010 22:03

I have the 'support thread for madmouse' printed off in Nathan's memory box with all his Special Care leads, wires and things. I read it occassionally and I always well up. That thread was a lifeline of support and almost all of you (except Simpson who came later) are on it x

fillybuster · 19/03/2010 12:28

Just wanted to pop on and wish you all lovely weekends Dh is away for work until late saturday so I'm looking forward to my lie-in on Sunday morning!

Met up with some of the 'June 2010' bumps in London last night (at Mem&Laz again, remember it, Gingeme?) and they were lovely (but not as nice as you lot, of course!!! )

June is starting to feel very soon, and I am soooo not ready ...anyway, I'll try to make more sense on Monday

mixedmamameansbusiness · 19/03/2010 12:51

Hello all,

Simpson - brilliant news about J and a credit to you for sure. I wonder if there is something in this I am an August baby and so is DH and we were always ahead in numeracy and literacy. Must google some research.

On the subject of schools.... my boss yesterday was complaining that his son's school do not give spellings to learn (he is 8) and that they do not correct his mistakes so that he doesnt feel demoralized. surely this is ridiculous. He says it is state school govt leg. as his daughter goes to private school and doesnt have this problem.... have you ever heard such silliness?

IWST - ditto great to see you slowly getting stronger.

Ginge - glad George is better. But sorry M seems to have picked it up.

Lily - congrats and I really hope you feel 100% soon, share names pleeeease.

My news:

I planned to apply for my degree next year and my lecturer told me to apply this year as he thinks I am ready... woo hoo so last night I did so fingers crossed all round.

Having a rubbish day at work and text DH to say on Mond I will hand in notice as have had enough. I am doing a rubbish job and getting pulled up on it, but I do I am and it is because I hate it and dont want to be here. Serious discussion will ensue.

Am out with friends this evenign for dinner they are the wives of 2 of DH friends and we always have such a laugh.

LaTrucha · 19/03/2010 15:19

Hi all -

Great news about J Simpson - well done.

Filly - enjoy your weekend too.

Mixedmama- have fun tonight and congratulations on the application. I don't know about primary, but the standard things for spelling at KS3 is three per piece of work, targeted to one kind of mistake if poss.

I'm itching to phone two of my friends who have just had babies. One probably delivered yesterday (I know she was induced) and obviously that is far too early to call. It's just we talk every couple of days and she's been refusing to answer her phone while overdue (she told me as much, and she did in fact call me a couple of times) becuase she was in such a spitting foul mood. I really miss having a chinwag, and actually her daughter too, with whom I get on with like a house on fire (she's 20 months and my bestie!). The other delivered a week ago. I know they're fine and the baby's name etc and she did say, 'Wait for me to call you.' I am beginning to wonder how long it is before I've ceased respecting her wishes and become neglectful. I'm also burning with curiosity, naturally. What do you reckon? I probably just have to wait, don't I?

Really tired ATM. DH is really busy at work over the weekend until Tueday and and then away for six days from Wednesday. I have been saying for months it's fine, go for longer etc when he wanted to cancel it. Now I really don't want him to go. I can't say anything because he'll worry liek hell and I persuaded him to go.

fillybuster · 19/03/2010 15:58

Ooh sorry LaT, I meant to reply to the friends question on the other thread, then totally forgot - was going to say, why don't you text them to see if you can call? Or just call, and don't be offended if you end up going straight to voicemail. I'd def do one of those with good friends

LaTrucha · 19/03/2010 17:45

Thanks Filly - I would text but my mobile's being mended. I may summon the courage to brave voicemail tomorrow - although I'll then be imagining corss faces, thinking, 'But I told her not to call.'

Was feeling a bit mopey this afternoon so I decided to bite the bullet and do crafty stuff I've been thinking about for a while with DD. We had a whale of a time and have discovered some new things about crafts. Firstly, that solid powder paints are actually less nerve-wracking for mummy as there is less mess involved. Sabela dabbled away with paintbrush and water quite contentedly. I was only painting with her so I could get on with making playdough (first time tried). It looks fine and may try it out later - though I suspect it is very un-carpet friendly.

Then I put down some paper and did 'gloop' - which if you don't know it is just cornflour mixed with a little bit of water. I honestly thought this would be awful but it was great. S wasn't too into the feel of it, though she did explore. She spent the rest of the time calmly stirring food colouring into it as the texture is still pretty interesting on the end of a spoon / fork / brush etc.

Actually a good deal easier than playing with toys for me! There is only so many times I can bath baby.

We're going for shaving foam in a bowl (maybe in the bathroom) tomorrow to see how that works out!

LaTrucha · 19/03/2010 18:03

Oh, and we did bubble pictures with water, washing-up liquid and food colouring too. Or I did, as S kept trying to drink it through the straw.

fillybuster · 19/03/2010 20:48

Sounds brilliant LaT I love doing crafty stuff with the kids, and baking, and always have that 'good mummy glow' afterwards. Can't always find the energy for it, but you're right, its a lot easier than bathing baby for the umpteenth time

The pound shops are fantastic for craft kits, by the way, which are suitable from 2-3+. The ones where you assemble something and then paint it are particularly good

LaTrucha · 19/03/2010 21:12

I'll have a look. I thought about fuzzy felt-type things but then decided they were too much of a risk.

The playdough is FAB BTW. Much nicer than the bought stuff.

willsurvivethis · 20/03/2010 09:06

Guys got 3am text from Lucky that her waters went and she was going to hospital. She had mild/moderate contractions last night while we talked on fb. So send all your labour vibes although I really hope she's done already

simpson · 20/03/2010 10:00

OOOh excited!!!

Come on Lucky!!

JustKeepSwimming · 20/03/2010 10:41

Was going to post 'go Lucky!'

JustKeepSwimming · 20/03/2010 10:41

simpson · 20/03/2010 10:48

LaTrucha · 20/03/2010 13:51

Congratulations Lucky! Glad she didn't have to wait too long past her due date!

Does anyone know if she got her VBAC? Timing looks like a yes.

gingeme · 20/03/2010 16:08

Yay Lucky
