Just thought I'd better create a new thread.

Raggie how about a trip to Burford?

oh yes, always covered in sick here, and never quite getting washing done often enough to have alternatives available!

preggo I'm finding MIL a lot easier to get on with now, especially as we rely on her a lot for childcare once a week and in emergencies, etc. She had her issues with FIL at the time of DD1's birth and was using DD1 as a cure-me fix without us being aware of it. It was smothering to the extreme. even now, she uses DDs as an excuse for retail therapy when she is down despite knowing how small and cluttered our house is, and how ungrateful DD is becoming about presents because she gets them all the time and they're not special. It makes me because I grew up with not a lot and presents and treats were such a joy that she won't experience.

I've worked out that the rash is probably due to me having eaten a gluten free cereal containing skimmed milk powder. I'm such a dunce - I'm so focused on getting shopping done ASAP that I'm not checking labels properly!

Hi all, got a bit of a cold and feeling miserable. Wish I could go back to bed but not possible with toddler and baby! Luckily they are both napping so I can put my feet up!

I bath ds every night as it is part of his bedtime routine but Millie gets a bath every other night as can't be bothered to do it every night! I bath them together and when she eventually goes to bed at a reasonable hour I will bath her every night as well.

scarlotti Millie normally sleeps through the night but a couple of nights this week she has woken about 2.30am for a feed and then woken earlier in the morning, I wonder if it is a growth spurt? (I blame everything on growth spurts, that and teething for ds!) She slept through last night though so am hoping she'll get back to normal.

preggo love the thread title, lets go for it! Hope things get sorted out with your dad, he is deffo being unreasonable.

Millie's got her second lot of jabs tomorrow, not looking forward to it at all. I think she has a bit of a cold too so feel extra bad about taking her.

I've finally got round to putting some pictures of the kids on facebook, hopefully you all know who I am! I'm not very with it technology wise and couldn't figure out how to add names or anything, to be honest I'm amazed I worked out how to put the photo's on! My dh is the complete opposite and a computer genius! I think that's why I'm so crap, because I rely on him to do everything for me!

Beautiful pics helips. Hope your cold doesn't get too bad. There's just no time to be sick when you've got littl'uns around!

scarlotti · 04/02/2010 15:32

ursi we're already in size 3 pampers so I will try changing him tonight at 3am and if that works then I'll probably get a pack of size 4 for night times.

Off to get ds1's hair cut now!

skorpion · 04/02/2010 15:49

Hi ladies, sorry, can't read at the mo. Lucy's had her jabs today and been fussing and crying for about an hour now. Do you think I should give her cvalpol even though she's not got fever? Thanks.

skorpion · 04/02/2010 15:59

She fed constantly for about three and a half hours and still won't settle...

claired21 · 04/02/2010 16:11

Sorry skorpion first timer here so I don't know but I know some give calpol straight away after immunisations so I wouldn't imagine there would be a problem.

k8 great thread name, go for it!

PreggoK8 · 04/02/2010 16:48

Becky I was the same, but am ok now too. I realised there was no point in breastfeeding if it was hurting so much I was scared of picking up my own baby. It?s lovely you have a good bedtime routine, I?m sure he?ll settle again when he?s feeling better.

Hobnob I?m glad it?s easier with your MIL now. It?s a shame you can?t wave a magic wand and make her behave how you want her to though!

Helips I recommend that raspberry & Echinacea tea I was talking about before. You never know, it might help!
Joe had his second jabs today and he was much better than last time. He did cry, but recovered much quicker. I took calpol and a sterilised dispenser with me to the docs and gave it him afterwards when we waiting for the 10 minutes in the waiting room. It really seemed to help and he?s been fine so far.
I hope Millie finds it easier this time too.
I have no idea how to set up a new thread by the way. I will have a go after I post this. Wish me luck!

scarlotti · 04/02/2010 16:57

skorpion I'd give the calpol personally. It will ease any discomfort she has enough to allow her to settle and then get some sleep.

scarlotti · 04/02/2010 17:01

Had a good day here - met Erika and Bryn in town and then took both boys to the barbers for DS1 to get a trim, which was quite a successful trip so feeling good about my parenting skills now!!
Ioan has slept much more today, better naps and seems more settled so hoping for a better night tonight now. Will try changing him during the night too and see how that helps the early morning fussing.

preggo well done on taking a sterlised dispenser - I tend to just take a washed syringe

PreggoK8 · 04/02/2010 17:04

Skorpion sorry don't know how I missed your msg. Yes, go for the calpol. My doc said it would ward off a temp if one was coming on, but also help with the pain in his legs from the jabs. I reckon just for today at least and see how you go tomorrow. It's what I'm doing. xx

skorpion · 04/02/2010 19:25

Well, I gave her half a spoon and she's fast asleep. Thanks, I really didn't want to medicate her if it's not needed and thought to wait to see if she got high temp. But it seems to have done the trick. Poor chicken - I realise now how lucky I am to have a generally chilled baby, it was horrible when she wouldn't settle.

claired21 · 04/02/2010 20:01

new thread I hope!
