Oh yes, I forgot the fridge ones. We have some Boden fridge magnets but they are very weak from a thing they did years ago but they don't stick together so I imagine they won't be a problem.

Poo. I put the extra bit of the sentence in the wrong place and now it makes no sense. Ah well.

I never knew that about magnets

Congrats she who doesnt sleep

I would love another baby, I am getting terribly broody, but I would need a man for that and tbh, one of those is the last thing I need right now.

50ftChristmasTree · 14/12/2009 16:24

Aubergenie, Star, quick question. How annoyed would you be/how serious would it be if someone posted photos of a school play on FB? We had a warning about it before the concert but one of my friends has posted pictures anyway. The thing is..... they don't only contain pictures of her ds. I would be pretty pissed off if someone I don't know posted pictures of DS or DD on the internet for their friends to look at. She's only a sort of friend and is very aggressive so I wouldn't be able to say anything without risking my health! WWYD?

SantasKinkyKnickers0nMaHead · 14/12/2009 16:26

Can I answer? I would report her to the school, expalin that you don't want her to know it is you that has said anything, but that you are not happy about having the pics there, and, if you can actually view the pics, report them to facebook saying you havent given permission.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/12/2009 16:35

The big letter and number magnets often have only a small magnet in the big piece of plastic, so could be swallowed if they came loose.

There have been lots of threads re that on here in the past 50ft, but I'm not sure how you should deal with it. Is there a 'report this' button on fb pics ?

Thanks knickers .

If they repel each other then it's just that the +ve -ve sides of the magnets are facing the wrong way, but obv if swallowed they could turn around and attract each other.
I know the kind you mean re the thomas ones and even I can't think of a problem with those!

50ftChristmasTree · 14/12/2009 17:33

Thanks ladies. The thing is if I report it she will know it's me as I am the only one arsy who is rule abiding enough to bother. She's a mum on her own with two kids & is working despite the fact that she would get more in benefits and she really can't afford to be fined. She needs telling off so that people take it seriously (I can feel the system crumbling...... [melodramatic]) but not if it's going to cause her such hardship. Oh Lord the moral dilemma!

Let me just add......

StarExpat · 14/12/2009 19:10

I don't tend to get involved in that sort of thing... most of our parents don't really care - I see parents who are friends of mine on fb posting pics of school assemblies all the time. The rules are not to, but unless someone really minds...
Our school is a bit more loosey goosey with that stuff though...
Some people have posted pics with Q in them on their fb and I'm really not bothered. It's not like he's being used for something inappropriate. But that's just me.

StarExpat · 14/12/2009 19:15

Maybe I'll feel differently when Q is older, I guess? At the moment, if Q is in a photo with other babies and other friends/family of other people were looking at him, I really wouldn't be bothered at all. I wonder if this will change as he gets older? Some people seem really bothered by it?
I've never heard any parents at our school even give it a second thought. There are always announcements/emails...etc about it and I always hear parents brushing it off saying "oh isn't that just silly?"
Like, teachers aren't meant to use their own cameras for class pics or pics of students. I can see why, I guess, but I use my camera... and delete the photos after they've been downloaded on my iphoto at school. If I use a photo of something in my class for something else I usually email my parents and ask them if it's ok... never once have I had someone even give the slightest bit of a care about it.

50ft - I would be a bit annoyed about the pictures to be honest. Not from a paedophile on every corner point of view but because it's private. I'd expect someone to ask permission if they were going to broadcast S on tv or in the papers and it's exactly the same thing I think people forget the Facebook is public.

We don't have that many events where parents can attend as our school is massive and there isn't enough space to fit them in so I'm not sure what the protocol is actually. I know that we do have to protect a number of the children from being in the papers etc for child protection reasons.

If they explicity posted a warning not to do it, I'd ask her to remove them if I wasn't happy. Is she a fb friend of yours?

BTW did you ladies know that FB have changed all their privacy settings a couple of weeks ago so that if one of your friends signs up to an application, that application can then access all the personal information about you that the friend can. I knew they'd changed the settings and thought I'd got my information secure until dp pointed out to me that I hadn't. Make sure you check yours. Go to Settings/Applications and Websites/What your friends can share about you. FB are cheeky motherflippers!

I watched Life. Might see about trading M in for a baby Orangutang.

OP posts:
aubergenie · 15/12/2009 06:37

50ft - We watched Life too and were saying how much the baby orangutang reminded us of S.

I'm up for the day and slightly in shock that S hasn't woken up for a feed yet. Normally he's rattling the sides of his cot around 5 and has usually woken once before that as well (but we just give him water then). Of course I kept waking up wondering why he hadn't, so I didn't get a great night.

He's started taking 2 hour naps during the day now. Can't wait till I'm off work to take advantage of that.

Myjob - My Christmas tree in class looks a bit like yours sounds. I got the children to decorate it, and we made paper chains to hang round the class room. It's very home made, but I think it's sweet.

50ftChristmasTree · 15/12/2009 07:42

I thought the tiny monkey in the hot springs was more like M. Fast asleep with a boob clamped firmly in it's mouth!
