Here's some more! William is at nursery with a Breeze and Bleu (pronounced Blue), we did have a girl at school called Paige Turner and another called Theresa Brown, also a Chanel a few years back. There's a Destiny in DD's class and a Tianna in her year too. We're waiting for all the footballers' wives inspired names like Chardonnay to filter through to us in secondary schools, but I expect they're already in primary!

I think we all seem to have pretty similar tastes in names - obv I like William , we named him after my grandad, and my other grandad was Jack so I've always been fond of that name. I love the name Lola - William calls hearts CharlieLolas because they look like the butterflies in Charlie and Lola, which I just think is very cute.

Love the cake Loopy - I think my DD would adore it!

LOM - I'm thinking of doing GCSE marking next year, not for the money, but more for the assistance it will give me generally. My new HoD does it and says it has helped her teaching. She's exhausted mind you, teaching full time and she has a 20 month old too I don't know how she does that and find time to bake fabulous cupcakes - v.

littleoldme · 02/07/2010 03:45

Jet - Blade ! I read a thing a while ago about a couple whose Dcs were named after characters in playstation games. Can't for the life of me rember what they were though.

The marking does really help to inform teaching but it is lots and lots of work in quite a short space of time. I normally get about 550 papers to mark in about 3 weeks. I mark for AQA and always manage to scrounge some extra time as long as I'm not more than a week over they don't mind. Also, choose your paper carefully, I can't remember what your subject is but in English some are def easier to mark than others.
I've only got 300 papers this time and am stryggling - God knows how your boss copes; sounds like she's some sort of super woman.

Well dome on the cake Loopy - DD will love it.

Better try and get some sleep. I'm a bit of an over anxious hormonal heap and the mo.

Someone i used to be friends with (long story lol) has named her new baby Roman. Although i do actually secretly quite like that name!

littleoldme · 02/07/2010 12:09

I know a couple of Romans. Again, not exactly a vitorian apprentice name. both Dh and i really like Stanley but don't think I'm brave enough.

Victorian - Grrrr too many typos at the mo.

@ Stanley. A bit toooooo Victorian for my personal liking. Reminds me of a skinny old man with gappy teeth and roll ups lol.

My friends Ex SIL has a baby Floyd.

Have splashed out on a new handbag my flimsy justification is that it is big enough to be changing bag too.
I've been on the hunt for a big leather crossbody bag for months and they are soooo hard to find Dahhling. I did wangle 10% off and free delivery too. It and I will be very happy together

Very nice! Good deal you got there too!

littleoldme · 02/07/2010 19:50

Cheers Rg I think it says " Yes I'm abusy Mum who has to think practical; nonetheless, I manage to maintain a certain sense of style." Unfortunately the rest of me says, " I'm abit knackered I haven't had time to blow dry my hair, iron my clothes or put any makle up on."

Had a ghastly afternoon. T has been proper poorly. I bundled him off to the docs when his post Calpol temp hit 38.8 and he became spaced out and delerious. Seems to have rallied now and temp down to 37.7. Very scary. Poor lamb.
At least when he threw up he missed my new bag !

We saw a new Doc as we've just moved surgery. He took me V seriously and thought, as you anticipated, that it is viraal. Said I should have a 'low threshold' for calling ambulance ie if any rash or V spaced for longer than 10 mins.

Think I'm going to invest in a proper ear thermometer. I've always taken the view that if they are hot then they have a temp and so rarely measure. This has made me feel a bit differently though.
