DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 28/10/2010 12:53

Ahh bless him.

DS does like pink. He wants me to buy him a pink truck for Christmas!

FreakoidOrgansandBloodoid · 28/10/2010 16:53

DS still loves pink too. For his birthday he has asked for a pink present. No further specification Grin. He has also asked for a fall-overing scooter (eg one with 2 wheels) and a red football "because wc likes red football" (wc is a man u supporter)

How did ds get on at the eye hospital skid?

DrSkidaddle · 29/10/2010 10:01

OK thanks, he doesn't need glasses for now and they will monitor him every two months to see how he is. As it stands atm, if he does require treatment (50% chance), it will be an op Sad but fingers crossed it will improve on its own - although have to say I am very confused by this as last time I took him, they told me, 'we can't be sure what treatment will be needed, but one thing we can say for sure is that it won't correct itself' Confused x 100

Yaay for pink-loving boys

How are things with WC clairey - is the just friends thing working?

How are you feeling BT? Is the sickness subsiding? Any visible bump yet?

buzzybee · 29/10/2010 10:40

I think DD2 would choose Lego for Xmas if asked, and yes preferably pink! I have a theory (entirely without scientific basis) that children's ability to distiguish colours only kicks in at about 2.5 and the first colour they can easily identify is pink!! How else do you explain why most children can't tell the diff between colours and why pink seems to be a universal favourite?!!

How annoying Skid that you get different stories, but good I guess there's a chance it will correct itself?

That must be a relief BT not to worry about the house selling and etc.

We're off to Bali tomorrow yay! Seems like its been forever since I booked this trip. My birthday next week while we're there. Grin DD2 sooo excited about "the big plane"

DD1 got an email tonight from exH to say W2 pregnant again, due May. I didn't anticipate this Sad Of course she feels even more cast off, poor thing.

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 29/10/2010 12:03

Buzzy - Sad for DD1, but I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!!!

I think you might be right about the colours!!
I remember my brothers got given lego when we were kids, think I played with it more than they did!!

FO - Grin @ your DS's Christmas list, especially his falling down scooter!!

DS has changed his mind, he wants a red truck not a pink one!

We have got him a little Hallowe'en costume - a spider! We'll put it on him and let him greet the trick or treaters at the door Smile

FreakoidOrgansandBloodoid · 29/10/2010 12:12

Oh poor dd1 Buzzy.

BT bet he will look very cute as a spider, I think I might just refuse to answer the door to trick or treaters this year, or is that really mean?

Skid ok with wc, as in we are acting as friends. Not so good as in I don't think of him as just a friend anymore Confused Will probably have to have some distance for a bit so I can sort my head out...but it is hard to impose that because then I will miss him!

Ambi · 30/10/2010 15:07

Hello All Grin

Not been on MN for AGES, managed to find you lot and I see there's some names I recognise. How is everyone doing? (do I need to read through the thread and catchup? - It's 10 pages long!!) Cannot believe they're approaching 3, it's terrifying.

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 30/10/2010 16:30

Hello!! How are you doing! I was thinking there were a few names we hadn't see lately.
(It's BouncingTurtle btw, had a name change a few weeks back!).

Ambi · 31/10/2010 12:27

I'm fine bouncy, how are you and Daniel? I bet he's big now!!

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 31/10/2010 22:03

He's fine - still a bit pint sized but a real chatterbox!! I'm impressed you remembered his name!!

How are your DDs?

strandeadatsea · 01/11/2010 15:38

Congratulations BT!

Hi Ambi!

Stuck in Miami - St Lucia trashed by hurricane Tomas - no idea when they will re-open the main airport - or the road from south to north.....and don't know what state our house will be in when we finally get there....

still there could be worse places to be stuck (although it's costly - those shops just keep calling to me!) (and TERRIBLE for my waistline).

FreakoidOrgansandBloodoid · 02/11/2010 16:50

Scary stuff Clara, glad you weren't there though.

Hi ambi Smile

DS amazed me with cleverness earlier, walking along and teenagers had graffitied on the path, ds said all the letters xx is an obese cunt (so proud Wink) and read the word is Shock Shock I think he was just guessing though as have tested him since and he just says i s

Got abusive texts from exh on sat night, the last one at 4am calling me a slut. He had basically imagined that I was with someone and so decided to have a go at me for it. The one at 4am woke me up so I called him and told him to stop texting me and he started ranting about me having someone there with me and ignoring his texts because I was with someone, er actually I was asleep because you were texting me at 1am. Told him he needed help. This morning he said he has made an appointment with gp but won't take ADs or have counselling or therapy Hmm

KaraStarbuckThrace · 02/11/2010 17:46

FO - OMG are you okay, what an absolute twat your exH is Angry
You do have a clever DS though Smile

Stranded - yeah I saw on FB that you were really stranded! So is your DH's company putting you up somewhere or is the holiday insurance covering it? Hope the girls are enjoying their extended holiday!

FreakoidOrgansandBloodoid · 02/11/2010 17:51

BT yes am fine thanks, he can't really upset me anymore. Irritate the hell out of me yes but I don't get upset by what he says anymore.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 02/11/2010 18:12

Glad to hear it - he isn't worth it!

strandeadatsea · 02/11/2010 23:23

OMG BT yes must namechange to strandedinflorida or something! We are staying with my dh's brother so are fine, the insurers will cover for things like the extra car hire. It would be more enjoyable if we knew how long it would be for....

Clairey - your ds is a genius (but I recall him and your dd being very clever from previous things you have said). Dd2 is recognising numbers and some letters - she has a particular attachment to W for some reason and it is the only one she can write so far (isn't there an expensive hotel called W in NY? I wonder if she is trying to tell me something.)Your exH is a (what's that MN word? twunt?)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 03/11/2010 14:56

I wrote Daniel's name in sand at Stay and Play today, and he knew it was his name! He recognises most of the numbers from 1 - 8, and count up to 4, but that's it.

Off to see the MW in a mo!

buzzybee · 04/11/2010 14:18

Clara goodness TG you weren't there!
Clairey muchos sympathies.
We're loving the pool in hot Bali. Had fab b'day yesterday. Hope you're all good.

strandeadatsea · 07/11/2010 23:51

(we're going to have to start a new thread soon aren't we? Can you believe it's a year since this one was started? How about Not Quite Three - and Truely Terrible?)

Buzzy - Bali? How fab. I hope you're having a fantastic time. Funnily enough I have a friend here who used to live there and she said it was very similar to living in the Caribbean - eg everyone thought you were on one long holiday. Of course, it's probably great if you actually are on a holiday!

Things are much the same here. I gather the hurricane has had next to no coverage in the UK so will do my bit and paste a link to this blog - which says it all really - poor st lucia if anyone is interested. I need to sort out all the old nappies and clothes to donate tomorrow. I think there are people here who will be without a proper roof over their head for a while yet.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 08/11/2010 08:24

Stranded - I have read that blog, so much devastation :(

Buzy Envy Glad you are having a lovely time Smile

Still awful MS here, so feeling rather sorry for myself!

Decided going to tell my mum next weekend, when we see her, if only because my ms gets so bad at the weekend she is going to know what's up!

Hoping it won't be too long before I get a scan date as we want to wait until then before we tell any more family members.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 08/11/2010 14:58

Poor you BT, morning sickness is horrible. Was so relieved when Igot it less badly second time around.

Clara we do need a thread but at this rate we should maybe leave their age out of it cos they could be 5 or something before we finish it! Not that I have any suggestions mind...

Arcadie · 09/11/2010 22:48

Delurks for long enough to say: Congrats BT! So excited for you and Daniel (and DH of course)!

Hi to all others. Not been on MN much at all owing to Simeon being the incredible non sleeping baby. Can't believe our LOs will be THREE soon....

FreakoidOrganisoid · 10/11/2010 13:16

Well hellooooo Arcadie! Thought you didn't love us anymore Wink Sympathies on the non sleeper, it is very hard work. It gets better at around age 2 IME Grin

KaraStarbuckThrace · 10/11/2010 13:17

Hey Arcadie!!!! Lovely to see you :)

Hmmmm, so FO you had much worse MS with your DD than with your DS.... I would love a girl :)
Much as I adore my cute, funny and extremely clever ds :)

FreakoidOrganisoid · 10/11/2010 13:39

Yes BT, hyperemesis with dd til 20 weeks and only actually sick a handful of times with ds (felt sick until 13/14 weeks). My cousin was the same and worse for a dd
