A homage to the Nightmare Before Christmas song. DH obsessed with that film, we all (DD included) have to watch it on Christmas Eve.

dog - thanks for the tip about the fb mail earlier. sorry you have a virus, hope it can be sorted.

c still a bit grumpy, think it's her ear, but she doesn't seem sick or bothered enough to give her abs. i am pretty grumpy myself, think it's pmt in my case - discovered a roof leak today which precipitated a wave of totally disproportionate despair. hormones.

gumps - s sounds adorable .
moose - sorry about sore ear. you and c both.

moosemama · 23/10/2009 18:47

Hi Stripey, poor C she has my sincerest sympathy, my ear infection is horrible even though it has not yet driven me out of the house to the GP. It just a constant dull pain most of the time, accompanied by a deadening of sound and occasional moment of deafness in that ear, then all of a sudden I get a huge sharp pain out of the blue.

Sorry to hear about your roof leak, we had one in the boys' room last winter and I understand the despair, as its not exactly something you can fix yourself, so requires organisation and getting someone in. Proper pita.

Right, Dog, just quickly asked dh about your virus as he came through the front door. Basically you need to upgrade your antivirus straight away and see if the upgrade can pick it up and disinfect your pc. If you don't have any anti-virus to begin with, it could be trickier as you may not be able to load any new software depending on which virus it is. In that case you will need to reformat the hard disk and reload your software from the original cds. Either way you don't need to chuck your computer.

Hope you manage to sort it out.

Dog I didn't get your warning before I opened your message on fb but luckily my firewall/anti virus blocked it. If you can't find the name moose is there anyway I can check my fire wall history?
Moose I had an ear infection the day I found out I was preggers with S. So horrid you have my sympathy. Hate to say it but think the only thing that will shift it is antibiotics.
Spooky to roof. That is not good news. Fingers crossed its only a patch job.

Well surprisingly enough 8 kids was actually really fun. Ds1 kept asking whos birthday it was as I had made funny shaped sandwiches and cakes and things. They were all angels but I think it helped that I could chuck the 2 yo out in the garden. And my brilliant friend brought 2 bottles of bubbly for the adults. Way better than tea!
Woke up at 445am as dh not in bed and S not crying. Was completely disorientated by the lack of both! Poor dh got back from work dinner at 2am and then passed out on sofa watching question time. You want to see the state of him going to work today, he said he puked on the train . He has a rugby dinner tonight too but the poor boy just can't wait to get home.

Gumps · 23/10/2009 19:50

I'll google it for you and see what it says to do

Gumps · 23/10/2009 19:53

Try

moosemama · 23/10/2009 20:11

Right

DH says if it is a trojan, you will more than likely have to reformat the hard drive. Couldn't find any reference to it on the norton antivirus virus database.

Try going to Avast and downloading their free antivirus software and then run it on your computer. You should still be able to download it as long as your little friend lets you access the site.

Not sure if you could find the actual virus name in your firewall history Gumps, might be worth a try.

Gumps · 23/10/2009 20:18

That soft sailor one seemed to match your description Dog. Don't leave us!

moosemama · 23/10/2009 20:30

Just read it and Gumps is right, it is the one in her link. You just need to follow the instructions on her link to get rid of it.

THEN get yourself the latest version of windows and explorer (or firefox) and install some anti virus protection like the one I linked to.

VerySpookyLennipillar · 23/10/2009 20:48

Dog - you could do with logging into facebook and changing your password to something really secure i.e I$la&Ar10 or similar (mix of letters, numbers and characters) and going through deleting all the videos that are appearing on your profile - they are all trying to install spyware and adware. Also in security settings you need to block any applications from having access to your profile - it is probably one of the fb applications that has brought the virus in.

mm - hope u get well soon

dh and dd1 have gone off to hull back tues late.
have some time away from dd1 she is being awful mostly with me @ the mo screaming at me etc tiredness from school
my mum is over from 11am

VerySpookyLennipillar · 24/10/2009 11:11

Dog - if you reactivate facebook on another computer you won't get the virus on that computer so long as you don't download anything. Be especially careful about watching videos - the one that was posted to my wall by 'you' was a very poor youtube copy (url was www.yuotube.com!!) and was asking to download an adobe update. The adobe thing was likely the virus.

Hope all are well. Am delighted it is half term.

The barn looks amazing on fb Soccerette. Just beautiful. Your daughter and dh look lovely too

Hello EPPM.

ABout crawing here, not very well yet. She goes up rahter then forward, so ends up looking liek little fella from jungle book with her bum in the air. Very cute. But she has the hands and knees cycle almost.

ANy help for a halloween name for me? I can only think of hauntedtreedelivery and I'm not ravign on that one. Any ideas?

SparkleandShine · 24/10/2009 13:57

oops too late - my firewall caught the virus just in time

treedelivery · 24/10/2009 13:58

Forgot to say, dd2 up coughing most of night. Gah. Handed over to dh at 2, he hadn't been asleep wither by that stage, but had been tinkering with his cycles so felt justified.

He must be on his knees, as he was up ages with her. AM lyin gin bed with her on my chest so at least she gets some zeds. Plus I don't really mind being captive under the duvet with my squasher and a laptop

spookywoollenhat · 24/10/2009 18:24

dog - hope computer problems sorted - i'll try to get dp to post on here later as she's going to germany tomorrow on some work gig and i'm bound to forget to ask by the time she comes back.

took c to a diy emporium today, she was most impressed with her trolley seat. a small bit of boy-racer type activity took place in the roof membrane aisle, i have to confess... no further drips from the roof, but there's a very soft bit of plaster. we have had ongoing problems with sealing the damn thing - the roof is made of glass bricks and the builders had never done anything like it before, it was bound to happen, i guess. but we'll work it out, i'm sure...

hope you all have fun saturday evenings planned
