In honour of sausage's forthcoming nuptials, with a nod to imminent weaning.

at Chatsworth House. I really, really want to go.

Salemchocolates · 11/10/2009 12:55

reebee You're right with the satnavs thing. It's dangerous to follow them blindly. You hear enough stories of people ending up in another part of the country because they were sent to another place with the same name. I'm sure your DH has learnt his lesson now. Just common sense tells you that going straight through London isn't a great idea (exept maybe in the middle of the night?)

I've filled up those 2 huge bags now + discovered that we had the children's books down here after all. We've been reading the same 4 books since we'd moved here for nothing Also found the 'magnetix' of the dcs and the dcs have been happily and quietly playing with that ever since. Nothing's better than a rediscovered toy, isn't it?

sausage You must have lead (led?) a glamourous life in the 90's, hanging out with celebraties and all that

sausagemonstermash · 11/10/2009 13:00

Hehe, not really glam, Salem - I lead (led?) my cool existence vicariously through cool friend. I was only a meagre staff nurse at a well known childrens hospital in London (ahem) Just that everyone knew how to party in those days...!

Anyway. I have bitten the bullet and invited coolfriend and was completely honest, and have left it in her court. So we'll see. Thanks for the advice, fellow ghoulies!

Monstermomi · 11/10/2009 15:13

hi all.
I know I've lost it when a joke from Justin on Gigglebitz makes me laugh. sigh. 'how do you make a sausage roll... push it down a hill.' I know you've all prob heard it before but it did make me . ah the simple things in life...

going to skim the last few pages to catch up on last night's chatting.

Monstermomi · 11/10/2009 15:36

spookycaaa, can't remember if I acknowledged: 2 teeth! that's very exciting, bless. dd1&2 didn't get 1st teeth till 7 mos I think so Harper may have a few mos. with the way she's drooling I wuld think her teeth are about to pop through any moment.

sausage, glad you invited your coolfriend. it will all work out.

ses, glad the spa trip was good, could use one myself. actually, I keep forgetting I've got a voucher for an Origins face 'treatment' which I should use soon.

Fi, really glad you're dad is better. Also, love the house from the link you posted a couple pages ago.

hi to everyone else!

virtual hen do, please count me in!

have had a lovely day so far. we've actually been to church for the 1st time in months as we're not usually so organised. then came home to a lovely dinner of beef and ale over yorks puddings with cherry pie for afters. now, we're all slumped on the sofa, H has been in crawling position for about 15 min(but not crawling thankfully) and I'm about to take advantage of the beautiful weather to put out another load of laundry to dry.

hope everyone is well.

headlessH, I love the sound of your evening: new FF pyjamas, bath, xfactor... i think mine might be about catching up on housework .

reebee, your new name - !

salemchocs, i knew your FB pic must have been you and was amazed at the likeness of C to you. well, you ARe her mum but she looks exactly, exactly like you did as a babe (both of you gorgeous )

essenceofSES · 11/10/2009 15:58

Hi! Just back from supermarket shopping and sitting in car on drive as it's raining and O is fast asleep in the back!
HeebieJeebieReebie - if you'd not followed satnav and gone down A23 to join M25, you'd have been about 2 mins from me at one point! Sounds like you could have done a tour of quite a few people on this thread!

O stirring so I'd best brave the rain and get him and the shopping inside!!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 11/10/2009 19:00

well i only changed out of my pj's today to get in the bath this afternoon and then I got dressed into a fresh pair what a hard day!

llaregguBOO · 11/10/2009 19:06

Sounds wonderful, fi!

G has just tried to eat my nose. I think we'll be weaning soon!

Monstermomi · 11/10/2009 20:13

llare, v funny about G eating your nose . i don't think H is far from weaning: she stares at everything we put into our mouths including watching us drink water so intently that I usually ask her if she'd like some (of course she replies, she can talk at 5 mos ).

still tidying up and trying to finish quickly to get in front of the telly for xfactor which i think is on right now.

might forego my sun night abstinence for a glass of wine and reality tv.

sausagemonstermash · 11/10/2009 20:22

M was sitting in a cardboard box earlier and tried to eat the corner. She looked very cute.

Well, ubercooltrendyfriend emailed me back, not at all offended, and is coming!!!!! AND as luck would have it, my Dad emailed me earlier to tell me that one of his friends who was coming over from Hong Kong now can't make it, so it won't mess up the tables or anything! Llare am going to email you! (except facebook is buggered at the mo, so will email you from hotmail.)

Wooh!

llaregguBOO · 11/10/2009 20:35

I've mailed you back...

EtherealFiByTheSea · 11/10/2009 20:38

watching XF and feeding G who doesn't seem to want to sleep today. she's napped very little due to her big brother waking her up about 10mins after each time she fell asleep today. I also can't eat or drink while feeding her or she stops to watch me!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 11/10/2009 20:45

awww she's just about fallen asleep on me half heartedly sucking when I slightly pull away..

flippineckitsabitspooky · 11/10/2009 22:04

Evening all!

LOL at heebiejeebiereebee, fab name!!

Namecheck amnesty please though, just a quickie before I head off to bed - I'm expecting A to wake soon as she crashed out at 7:30 and is still asleep. She has never done this before so I have no idea how the night will go.

DD1's new bed is going fairly well, she didn't fall out of bed last night but when I went up to bed she was asleep on the duvet on the floor! It's lovely in the mornings, she creeps into our room and climbs into bed with us. I'm sure the novelty will wear off!

One more day of the inlaws !

at Stephen Gately. Not a fan at all, but to die so young is very very sad.

flippineckitsabitspooky · 11/10/2009 22:08

fi - forgot to say how lovely it is when they fall asleep like that, isn't it? A nd I had a sleep in the armchair this afternoon, I was feeding her and closed my eyes for a while (quite a while!) and she fell asleep too - lovely peaceful half hour or so but not very dignified as I was asleep with a boob out!

sausagemonstermash · 11/10/2009 23:01

I am thoroughly f-ed off with the ILs. FIL2b called earlier, to tell dp that they are 'in the area' in the week, and can they pop by to see me and (mostly) M. After the last shenanigans when his Mum failed to disappear when the HV came, dp assured me that they won't come now unless he is here. Anyhoo, they can't anyway as I'll be at my parents. Apparently FIL2b lost it at dp, saying that they aren't going to be treated as second rate grandparents, I should be there, what am I doing going to my parents all the time, they never see M and she will grow up not knowing them (wtf?! not surprising with stupid squintyteddyclocks), and dp had to 'sort it'. Dp lost his temper, said I had to go because of wedding dress fittings, and that I have to study and Mum is helping to look after M, and tough shit basically, and hung up. Am not looking forward to my wedding day at all there are going to be arguments, I just know it. I don't want M being passed from random relative to random relative, she will get all fractious and whingey.... am giving my brother strict instructions NOT to pass her to ANYBODY unless I say so. Oh f$ck.

Poo, poo and poo.

Think I'll go to bed and try and forget all about it....

Oh, AND MIL2b is wearing purple.... after my Mum told her that she is..... I haven't dared to tell my Mum yet... she'll be LIVID (Ok, so Mum is more lilac and MIL2b more plum, but FFS.) MIL2b is wearing a black dress (!) and bought the coloured jacket this week. Mum had her outfit made months ago........

AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

SinisterJenn · 11/10/2009 23:27

Evening all. I keep trying to post and then I'm not logged in, or a youngster vomits in their bed or I don't manage to finish the thread, so name check amnesty.

Texas Welcome sounds like you're at home already.

Famous boyfriends I used to go out with somebody who subsequently became famous.

SinisterJenn · 11/10/2009 23:28

Well not that famous actually. The band have had their day I think.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 11/10/2009 23:29

sausage weddings are usually far more stressful in the run up to the day than any other time. your day will be absolutely lovely and everyone will be too busy enjoying themselves to start arguments.. please don't worry. just take deep slow breaths.. it's going to be ok.. really it is.

llaregguBOO · 11/10/2009 23:31

ooooooooooooooooooooooooh! Jennster!

You aren't going to share are you?

sausage I haven't any tips to share re inlaws, but have a cocktail love, you deserve it.

SinisterJenn · 11/10/2009 23:34

Really not that interesting.... Honest

SinisterJenn · 11/10/2009 23:37

sausage It'll all work out in the end! I'm looking forward to your virtual hen do.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 11/10/2009 23:39

jennster! i was just checking in before heading off to bed. can hardly keep my eyes open anymore and saw your post.. i don't think i'll be able to stay awake for much taunting teasing

SinisterJenn · 11/10/2009 23:40

See it's hardly worth the wait

Monstermomi · 12/10/2009 06:58

morning all.
after a fractious niight, little madam has just finished her latest snack and slepping peacefully in my arms Fi, i know what you mean in earlier post. she was up 3x and dd1 about 4x.

dd1 wakes up and cries when Harper does which is why i'm so quick to calm H by the easiest way - feeding. in any case, it's left dh and i very short tempered and i just told him to f-off for a comment he made. breathe. he's now bringing me a coffee so i can forgive him .

jenn, who is he? i clicked and it mentioned gomez. if so, i'm impressed. i like gomez.

sausage, your inlaws about visiting. but do try not to get too worked up, it's not good for you. fi is right: breeathe. the day will be so lovely. try to think of the purples as separate colours(eg plum v lilac). then put that aside and start thinking about your friends together and what a fun party it's going to be.
