In honour of sausage's forthcoming nuptials, with a nod to imminent weaning.

Hi there, I've been reading but not got round to posting. Going to have to ask for a name check amnesty as it's taking me twice as long to work out who everyone is now everyone has changed their names!!

Sausage hope all goes well with the inlaws. At least your mil2b hasn't gone for a clashing colour. That would have been a nightmare!

Ds2 has another cold so isn't sleeping well and it appears that things with dh aren't great at the moment. So generally I'm feeling pretty fed up at the moment.

Right off to get grumbling baby out of bed!

zombietom · 12/10/2009 08:07

sausage your inlaws sound like hard work! Have to admit the bit about 'stupid squintyteddyclock' made me laugh - did you leave the clock up btw?

at sinister/rock chickjenn sorry I haven't been in touch for a while, am free thurs/fri though if you fancy a walk/ coming round for lunch

everyone else namecheck amnesty but hope you are all well

LoobyWooooooooh · 12/10/2009 09:14

morning all

I haven't been on for a few days so am frantically trying to catch up

M's jumperoo arrived on Saturday and she loves it! DH is moaning about how much space it takes up but I don't care as long as it gives me 10mins to have a shower/put out washing etc

weaning is going well M has fruity cereal (c&g) for breakfast and mashed swede/carrot for tea, going to bake sweet potato for her tea tonight

sausagemonstermash · 12/10/2009 09:23

Gah re inlaws. Dp said they are always like this. Hohumhohumhohum. And zombietom stupidsquintyteddyclock is OFF THE WALL! 2 bloody great big hooks left in its place, but now I carefully drape toys or cardigans on them,

Jennster - oooooooooh! Get you rockchick! I know that band!! (forgot to say that ubercooltrendyfriend was also in the video for Prodigy's 'smack my bitch up' - she was pushed out of the way... - don't ask me how she got involved in THAT!) Dp is dead excited that she's coming, he wants to fix his brother up with her. Haven't the heart to tell him that she'd eat him for breakfast...!)

Breeeeeeeeeathe. Thanks for the cocktail llare - the copious amounts of vodka are helping nicely

Salemchocolates · 12/10/2009 09:28

Morning everyone.

We can all bask in vicarious glamourousness and fame with all these famous ex-boyfriends

sausage Although I luckily have OK IL's, I can imagine how much extra stress they're putting you through. A bit at your FIL2b demanding that you cancel your planned visit to your own parents so they can see M. TBH we do have a jealous gp situation in my family too. It's luckily not about my own dcs, but my brother and sil don't let my mum see their dcs as often as her parents, this obviously upsets my own mum. I'm sort of stuck in the middle, but I can see why my mum is upset. However I can also see why my brother might not want to see my mum too much either, but IMO I don't think he should let his problems with my mum interfere with his dcs relationship with their grandparents, because they do love going there.

I'm trying C with a bottle again in a min. Last week she refused to take it. I'm going to hang on a little until she's really really hungry this time. I'm also going to have to start building up a little supply in the freezer as Jan is not that far away + I'm going to have to start searching for a new ap ready for Jan too. It generally takes a month or 2 before we find someone suitable and with a young baby in the house I'm looking for someone with some childcare qualifications too. Gosh, this all makes work seem so incredibly close

llaregguBOO · 12/10/2009 09:55

Now that was worth waiting for Jennster!

No famous ex-boyfriends here. A couple of wasters, losers and scoundrels, but even they didn't exceed at being entirely useless.

Back on the Davina DVDs today. DS1 causing us problems, but that is a whole other thread and the conclusion is that he is just being very 3. Phew.

Hello to everyone, off to change DS2 and do a quick clean before I have to pick DS1 up from school.

LoobyWooooooooh · 12/10/2009 10:24

saus try not too worry about the wedding, you will have a fab day, everything will work out and you will wonder what all the stress/fuss was all about
I had similar probs at mine various family members not speaking to each other and insisting on being on opposite side of the room/photos ...

nvited 3 gay couples (friends) not realising that some of my family are homophobic - ended up rushing round about an hour b4 the wedding moving placecards round ...

My mum trying to sabotage the wedding and stop my dad from giving me away then not even bothering to smile for any of the photos ...

but in the end we had a wonderful day and everyone said it was a great wedding

WOW! at all the teeth still lots of dribble but no sign here

name check amnesty please - struggling to catch up

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 12/10/2009 11:09

Just been reading the stupid things children do thread - thoroughly recommended!!

Wow Jennster, very cool - unfortunately I share Llare's type of ex (your comment made me , Llare) Saus whereabouts are you then? I worked in Stockley Park near Uxbridge for a couple of years and lived in Staines. Drove through Uxbridge every Monday morning and Friday night on my way from oop north or back to oop north when I couldn't handle the M25!

SES and also, where are you? Near Croydon?

LadyH I went to Chatsworth once when I was 11 or 12 and remember it being beautiful. Would love to go back.

Looby sounds like weaning is going brilliantly. Are you following any kind of plan or just doing what you feel is right?

Am very of all the Hallowe'en outfits. Am definitely going to subject poor F to looking like a novelty item all day. I actually promised I would never do it before I had a baby. Hmmm... I'm already deciding what I'm going to make him wear for Christmas!!

ScarySpangleMaker · 12/10/2009 11:49

Sausage boo to your painful IL2bs. I agree with Looby though, you will enjoy your day

Looby glad M likes her jumperoo. Sounds like the weaning is going really well.

Get you rock chicks Jennster and Saus

No famous exes here, but I did have a few sneaky moments with a singer in a goth band who later turned up as a baddie extra in a Bond film. When I spotted him in the film (at the cinema) I exclaimed 'I've sh*ed him!' which possibly wasn't the most sensitive thing to say to the new boyf who'd taken me to the cinema as a first date

During the 90s I lived with a house full of jazz musicians, including the late (died of a drug overdose ) husband of Corrine Bailey Rae, if any of you are familiar with her. He started going out with her while I was living there. I remember she had loads of energy and enthusiasm and a strong voice but rough around the edges, and the guys in the house would roll their eyes at having to let her have a go singing. They are now her backing band!

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 12/10/2009 11:57

Hi! Do you like my new name?! Finally managed to change it via my phone. Laptop won't be fixed til end of the week.

heebiejeebiereebie - I'm south of Croydon about 1mile north of top of M23.

saus - we had someone turn up to the afternoon reception that was only invited to the evening reception! He soon realised though and disappeared for the afternoon. He came back in the evening and no scene or fuss. It really was the best day and I'm sure yours will be too

DS is having a nap
in his cot
it's been nearly 30 mins

HeadlessLadyH · 12/10/2009 12:05

Happy Monday everyone!

DS1 was a bit droopy this morning and had had a bit of a temp overnight so have kept him off nursery this morning. He's perked up now so am going to take him in shortly. He only goes 2 days and so I'd hate for him to miss a full day when he's not that ill.

Haave put R into his door frame jumper bounce about do dar this morninging. Seems to like it so far. DS1 is very excited about it though.

I've also dug out the Trip Trap, cleaned it and put all the baby gubbins on in preparation........

R will be 6 months in 2 1/2 weeks. Can't believe it.

No famous ex's here either. Feel v uncool!
saus LOL at your cinema story!

HeadlessLadyH · 12/10/2009 12:07

PS. Bath, pjs, XF evening all went well. Except AF paid a visit overnight. Well, new Pjs in the wash now.

runningscared · 12/10/2009 12:12

Hey all,

loving the halloween names. I am definitely going to try to get some skeleton pj's for A. My birthday is the day before Halloween so I usually end up having some sort of ghostly themed celebration.

Get you lot with your frisson's a la celebrity (see told you I was pants at French ) No such claims to fame except I did meet jarvis cocker at the reading festival and made a right arse of myself by getting v start struck and saying 'I love you' in a really stupid voice in my defence I was only 17! one of my good friends is married to a celebrity magician tho which I always think sounds impressive.

A is currently asleep on her playgym she didn't fall asleep there but her cot bedding is in the wash and the pushchair is in the boot of the car!

saus you sound a bit stressed out which is unsurprising given your imminent wedding, study and not to mention small person you have to look after. Its easy to say but please try not to worry about arguments on the day, you will hopefully be too busy enjoying yourself to notice them if they do occur. I was v worried about the reaction of some of my Mums family to my Dad who they hadn't seen since he ran off with OW 10 years before. Especially as OW was also there. In fact they just avoided each other and sat on other sides of the room so there was no tension at all As for M being passed around - I was a bit worried about this the other week but it was fine and as soon as she got annoyed me or DH got her back Not sure if any of that is going to help but hope it does

ses well done on the napping

llare sorry to hear your having probs with DS1.

muddled sorry to hear you are having probs at home too. Hope they get sorted soon. Don't forget we are here to rant to anytime

Waves to everyone else x x

runningscared · 12/10/2009 12:14

llaregguBOO · 12/10/2009 18:56

You did...

FrightNightFebes · 12/10/2009 19:01

Not broken just busy with bed times I expect.

runningscared · 12/10/2009 19:04

llare

I am always on at the 'wrong' times - DH does bathtime and so this is my bit of mn me time and noone's around to blather with. ho hum

Hope everyone's had a nice day today.

pulapumpkin · 12/10/2009 19:06

I'm here. Just put the 3 DCs to bed as DH is away tonight. Phew. And got to do it all again tomorrow.

runningscared · 12/10/2009 19:10

Well done Pula! It usually takes two of us to do bedtime for one in our house so I am v impressed

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 12/10/2009 19:14

i'm here! just giving f his bedtime feed but he is far too interested in me typing!

excuse no caps - one hand

llaregguBOO · 12/10/2009 19:15

DH does bath here as well. I usually lurk on mumsnet for a bit while I do the kitchen. I've had a busy day in the sunshine today, but isn't it cold now?

HeadlessLadyH · 12/10/2009 19:44

at llare and runnings bath time skive! Wish it was like it in this house. DH on average gets home at 7pm. Bath well and truly over by then.

Quick poll: anyone got their heating on yet?

llaregguBOO · 12/10/2009 19:51

Absolutely! We have a massive conservatory at the back of the house which heats the house up very well during the day but it makes downstairs very cold in the evening. I am huddled in my sitting room with all of the doors closed trying to conserve the heat! I also have long socks, a woolly cardi and a sleeping G on my lap keeping me warm.

It was so warm here today though we ate are lunch outside. So odd to be so cold this evening! Although this time last year we were in Cornwall and swimming outdoors, so I shouldn't be surprised.

So jealous at your Chatsworth visit, ladyH.

llaregguBOO · 12/10/2009 19:52

Oh, and I've got an apple crumble in the oven to give me some internal heating.
