EtherealFiByTheSea · 23/10/2009 07:58

morning all.. got a bit of a fright this morning.. when I looked in G's cot.. she done a 180.. her feet were where her head usually is!

HeadlessLadyH · 23/10/2009 08:01

Morning ladies.
Just a quick proud mummy post.
Am sat having breakfast with R. He is EATING toast. Yes thats right. He is putting it to his mouth and sucking and chewing. Am so proud!!!
Will be back later.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 23/10/2009 10:16

ladyh at munching toast!

proud mummy here too! looks like the 180 degree turning was the start of wriggling! G is moving all over the place she see's where she wants to go and rolls from side to side bum shuffling and legs waving in the air until she's maneuvered across to it

EtherealFiByTheSea · 23/10/2009 10:39

sorry that's sees not see's see's not even a word i'd need?!

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 23/10/2009 10:42

Fi fab news about G. F does the moving round in his cot but shows little interest in rolling over after he proved he could do it a few weeks ago. btw, what did you do to our thread last night?

LadyH wow re R eating toast.

Felix is mainly doing screaming today. He isn't especially unhappy, he's just found a really good squealing noise and is practising it very thoroughly. He did a quieter one last week but this one is new and improved and much much louder.

Oh, and, um, DH and I had relations last night for the first time since about February. We giggled like nervous teenagers but everything seemed to be ok!! I was unprepared for how worried I'd be but there was no need. Thank goodness I'd shaved my legs! (Yes, I said LEGS!)

SinisterJenn · 23/10/2009 10:53

OMG I thought I'd share this. I'm sitting looking out of the window, and watching the church over the road. There is going to be a funeral and it looks like it's standing room only. Anwyay I kid you not, a glass carriage pulled by 2 white horses has just pulled up with a coffin in it! Obviously it's very sad.

Only got puke from dd2 today so far. I didn't think she'd be affected but looks like she has. She slept through from 7.30 with no dream feed so I had to express this morning. I hand expressed 4oz from one boob. Ow I'm still sore. Poor ds though. He doesn't understand why he can't eat.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 23/10/2009 11:28

jennster sorry to hear you've still got a poorly house.. hope dd & ds will be able to keep fluids down at the very least. Sounds like a very large funeral.. we live in the old rectory of the church opposite and see similar horse drawn numbers too.. not often though.

reebee I think I scared everyone off with my squishy poo description either that or everyone had better things to do after shaving legs than MN

SinisterJenn · 23/10/2009 11:59

Yhanks fi Luckily he is keeping fluids down. DD2 def has it. foul foul nappies.

weaning dd2 grabbed some toast yest and managed to keep a tiny bit in her mouth.....her face was a picture. Then she very effectively hocked up the seed that was in it.

poos We call them human poos.

pulapumpkin · 23/10/2009 13:55

Afternoon ladies,

jenn- poor you (I hate dealing with sick)and poor DD2 and DS. Hope they feel better soon and their nappies get back to normal too.

reebeee- I feel a bit guilty but when S is practicing annoying noises very loudly i usually see if he wants his dummy in

Well, I know S is only eating little amounts (8am and 5pm), but it is having a big difference on his feeding. He now generally only takes one boob rather than two. He just messes if i offer the other, sucking for a second, then pulling off and smiling. He also slept well last night, had a feed at 10.45, stirred at 1.30 and took his dummy, and then didn't wake until 4.30 . Shame I didn't go to bed til midnight

pulapumpkin · 23/10/2009 13:58

Oh and because he's not taking as much milk, I am feeling very full and my tommee tippee breast pads can't cope either. Hope it calms down soon.

runningscared · 23/10/2009 14:17

Aaaaaaargh just finished decorating mil's cake and scuffed it on the fridge shelf as I put it in to set

Sorry needed to vent. Will catch up now x

runningscared · 23/10/2009 14:33

Pula - that sounds like a better night, the food is obv filling him up nicely

Jenn - sorry you are dealing with poorly lo's. Hope they and their nappies are better soon.

Fi - lol at last nights chat bet you are really looking foward to dh coming home tonight.

Belgian - this is one for you We had a talk about slings at our mum n baby group. Now I really want a mai tai!!!

Hope everyone else is ok x

runningscared · 23/10/2009 14:35

Ooh ladyh wow at the toast eating

Monstermomi · 23/10/2009 14:37

hi all.
fi, just tired last night so only read a bit of MN then moved onto a book (inside The Whale - really good so far). I feel really 'Out Of it'... had no knowledge about QT until this morning when news was full of it. I'm listening to 5live all day today so i can catch up on the news as I feel so ignorant now.

Great news, Fi, about G moving around. H is doing similar. She prefers being on her tummy and has been doing a backwards 'crawl'. ie, she wants to move so her hands and legs move like she's swimming but it only moves her backwards.

LadyH, so exciting about the toast! I may try H on toast later but we only have wholemeal bread which will be a bit much for her. Maybe I'll make a white loaf over the weekend.

Pula, save for sucking a banana, Harper's not taking solids yet but I feel like she's not taking much at her feeds and the pads are quite full too. I think she's quite ready for weaning but need to keep trying.

Jennster, hope the LO's are well soon.

reebee, relations, hurrah! i think I need to have relations just to get me to shave my legs. actually, I'd probably feel more attractive if I made the effort and that's half the solution towards wanting to have relations. (do I make sense?)

oh, and about grumpy, she must be very busy with the b&b. I do try to follow how she is via FB and seems like all is well.

we've been at playgroup this morning and walking home, DD1&2 wanted to walk on the waist-high wall going out of the city. Some idiot left an open pot of mango chutney on the wall. I cautioned the girls to walk around it which of course prompted dd1 to walk into it, kicking it on the ground and all over me . I know she didn't do it intentionally and she was probably just more focused on it since i pointed it out. Toddlers, eh? if you warn them not to spill something, they will. If I put a hot cuppa far away from them, hidden somewhere in the room, they will still find it and spill it. Anyone else's toddler/s like this? Coat is now in the laundry and I'm hoping stains will go.

but bless DD1, she saw how cross I was and felt badly so I was smothered with kisses and cuddles when we got home. I did tell her not to worry that it was an accident.

hope everyone is having a good day today.

Monstermomi · 23/10/2009 14:38

running, xposted... hi!

ScarySpangleMaker · 23/10/2009 15:00

Fi no you didn't frighten me off last night with your poo description, just . Actually I was more frightened by the BIL offering to change H's nappy on the grounds that it would be infinitely less offensive than changing his DD2's (aged 2).

Jennster hope the LOs and their nappies recover soon.

We watched QT and actually added to the viewing figures as we are on the TV panel and have a monitor connected to the TV. I did wonder before watching, in an ingnorant and extremely charitable moment, whether Nick Griffin was intelligent-but-misguided, but no, he came across as one hundred percent repulsive arse.

LadyH yay for toast eating! I am wondering if I'm being too chilled out about what sort of bread I'm giving H. I know it's best for them not to have too much wholemeal but I figure if he's not actually consuming very much at the moment then it doesn't matter. I'm also letting him have bread with seeds in (he loves it!) and the seeds just turn up in his nappy the next day... should I not be letting him eat things with seeds in?

ScarySpangleMaker · 23/10/2009 15:03

Didn't mean to refer to BIL as 'the BIL' there... though DH will think it's funny.

runningscared · 23/10/2009 15:06

Hi momi, it's funny that with toddlers isn't it, I watched my cousin tell her 3yo to 'be careful' with a beaker of squash that he promptly tipped over the carpet

runningscared · 23/10/2009 15:08

Xposts from me now! hey spangle

HeadlessLadyH · 23/10/2009 15:15

Back now. Morning of soft play and then lunch (5 adults and 8 kids at Frankie and Benny's. Am now ready for a snooze. Wish R was!

spangle the toast was one of those 50/50 breads - you know the ones that are half white, half brown. He even sucked on some brocolli and a chip at lunch today. Progress!

Monstermomi · 23/10/2009 15:37

toast - my bread is about 60/40 white to wheat... so that should be ok then? it also has honey in it but has been baked so shouldn't that be ok? ah, stuff it. i'll make a simple white loaf with fewer allergens.

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 23/10/2009 16:59

a man is cleaning my oven

and no, that is not a euphemism

EtherealFiByTheSea · 23/10/2009 19:34

Monstermomi · 23/10/2009 20:32
