Hi everyone,

Busy day today here. 1st to a occy health app't for my next job, then on to a friend who lives around the corner from there and spent all afternoon there until pick up time for the dcs. Then after it was rush rush, dinner ready and then dress up and make up and go to the dcs school Halloween disco. The dcs loved it, but dd1 did go home early cos she felt ill from too many sweets (her words). C got overtired from all that discoing and so took ages to go off to sleep, but she's OK now.

This morning I was a touch with DH. I got up, got the dcs ready, showered, made all of our breakfast including DH's porridge, made the dcs lunch boxes and I still got ready before him, so I ended up taking the dcs to school too, despite him promissing me to do it. His said it was because he had worked late the night before, which is total rubbish, because he was home before the dcs bedtime! Basically all he had to do this am was get dressed and eat the porridge that was ready made for him!

running Mei tais are sooooo beautiful. I did have one to try, but I find my wraps more comfy. Not to say that MT's aren't comfy, they are, but wraps are definitely easier on my back.

Talking about slings, I took C to the disco in my new (bargain) ring sling. It's black, so I thought I'd wear it to match my black witches outfit. Everyone said I looked cool in it

weaning My friend had a 1 yo who's BLW. It's good to see it in action. The lo had quiche, breadsticks, grapes and bananas, so there's light at the end of the tunnel. I was especially impressed with the quiche, because my dcs wont touch it. LadyH The BLW is going well with you. Must be so exciting to see it all happening and develop.

fi at the 180 degree turn. That must have been a shock!

I've been wondering about grumpy. I thought because her DH is home, she must be busy.

I'm wondering whether C is going through a little growth spurt. She's gone back to 2h feeds the last 2 days. She'd gone down to 3h or so. She's also still doing the 4 o'clock waking, which is unusual for her too.

Right. DH is home now. better go and join him.

G was very excited at seeing daddy home and got a little over tired. she's full of ds's cold, has his cough too so she had her first screaming session in ages.. poor thing screamed louder after each cough cue her first dose of calpol. she's now settled at last on me.. dh disappeared half way through the screaming session

LoobyWooooooooh · 23/10/2009 21:18

evening

baby yoga yesterday was great, M was so chilled that she had a 15min nap on the mat at the end
it only cost £1.50 and I had lunch (goats cheese and spinach flan with coleslaw and a mug of tea) for £1!
We will def be going again.

This morning we went to Baby Bounce (free) followed by 20min soft play then picked up a friend who's broken her arm so off sick and went to asda for lunch/shopping. M slept for 1.5hrs in her buggy - so def going to that again too!

M is now on 3 meals a day and the poo is really vile - I never thought I'd miss BF poo but this new stuff stinks! Poor thing tho she has been a bit constipated so have given her some minced prunes and banana with her dinner tonight in the hope that will help

Spookyoldcaaaaaaaa · 23/10/2009 21:23

sidles in and sits at the back very quietly, hoping no-one noticed her rather prolonged absence

Spookyoldcaaaaaaaa · 23/10/2009 21:26

gets arsey at lack of wailing and gnashing of teeth at triumphant return of The Cow and buggers off

Spookyoldcaaaaaaaa · 23/10/2009 21:27

pops head back round door to admit she's off to make a cup 'o' char and read back on zillions of pages of chat

EtherealFiByTheSea · 23/10/2009 21:31

spooky check out the top of previous page then say we don't think about you.

Spookyoldcaaaaaaaa · 23/10/2009 21:35

EtherealFiByTheSea · 23/10/2009 21:39

nice to have you back how r u doing?

SinisterJenn · 23/10/2009 21:58

spooky Hiya chuck. How you doing?

Please don't catch virtual norovirus from our house.

flippineckitsabitspooky · 23/10/2009 22:01

Hey, spooky, can i have a cup of tea too please? How's things?

And hello rest of you! Just a quick good evening. LOL at the poo cnversations.

salem - another new sling?! running - there's some fab mei tais out there (but at some of the prices!]. I'm with salem, I like wraps best too (for my back), but have had buckle tais in the past (like a mei tai, but with buckles on the straps rather than needing too be tied, iyswim).

looby - with you on the non-bf poos, bleurgh. Quick word about bananas though - they can sometimes have the opposite effect to most other fruit, so if M is struggling with constipation you might want to avoid them for a little while. Prunes good though! Your baby yoga sounds fab.

We've had a good day here. DH took the day off work so that we could go out for lunch (with the girls, obviously!) to celebrate 10 years, and then he looked after the girls while Iwent to the hospital about my tooth. Dentist there wasn't really very nice, dreadful bedside manner and was very rude about my regular dentist. Anyway, he said I probably wouldn't need a GA to take the tooth out but could have one if I wanted. So now I'm confused, obviously no GA would be better but what if it's horrible done under a local? Pah, no idea.

I phoned my HV yesterday to chat about the possible PND, she wasn't there (and I didn't want to speak to her colleague) but she's going to phone me back on Monday.

More dreadful sleeping - A is only usually waking once in the night, but is up for hours. Any suggestions? I feed her, she gets sleepy, put her down, she wakes up and is wide awake and wanting to play. Last night was only about 2 hours, but it has been four.

Sorry, I whinge a lot don't I?!

SinisterJenn · 23/10/2009 22:07

flippin Not whinging. I whinge. In fact I whinge about whinging children.

ScarySpangleMaker · 23/10/2009 22:09

spooky you're back!

Looby glad you enjoyed baby yoga. I've signed up for a course with the same woman who did our baby massage course. We finished that today, and H got his first certificate (other than his birth certificate!) complete with his footprints. Awww!

bet I could out-whinge you on whinging children Jenn. DD1 is ever so slightly ill (just a minor cold) but OMW, the whinyness it has brought with it!

SinisterJenn · 23/10/2009 22:17

I can't be arse putting all the words in italicy whingey writing but I've had 2yo whinging about all the food he wanted to eat today. I managed to get to 5oclock having only given him 3 bread sticks, and he had some pasta and pesto. Within 20 mins of eating it, hea had up chucked the lot and ALL the fluid he had drunk in the day. [sigh] That's 4 days of no food and vomiting.

SinisterJenn · 23/10/2009 22:18
Grin
EtherealFiByTheSea · 23/10/2009 22:18

flippin i've had 3 wisdom teeth out for similar reasons all under local rather than general but at 3 different occasions. 2 out of the 3 were straight forward but the other was not.. the tooth cracked and i ended up with a surgical 8 extraction with just the local. couldn't feel any pain but it was uncomfortable due to the pressure the dentist had to apply to my jaw when he was tugging and drilling the tooth & having to keep my mouth open for so long. i'm really ill with generals so if i had to make that choice again i'd still opt for the local if it was possible.. even with my added phobia about needles!

when you feed A in the night where do you do it? do you have any lights on?

ScarySpangleMaker · 23/10/2009 22:19

flippineck that's not whingeing! Re wisdom teeth, the GA is quite 'light' I think. I've actually had mine done but it was 25 years ago (eek!) and I was in hosp o/n, however I think it's much less of a fuss these days. Ex boyf had his wisdom teeth out and he was in and out within a few hours. I had to go home with him as he was a bit woozy but absolutely fine after a few hours. I would pick the GA but I'm a wimp!

flippineckitsabitspooky · 23/10/2009 22:20

Oh all right, you win. We don't have vomit.

flippineckitsabitspooky · 23/10/2009 22:20

oops, x-post - that was at jenn!

SinisterJenn · 23/10/2009 22:21

I've had all 4 of my wisdoms out under LA. Was fine, but they were pretty straight forward.

Salemchocolates · 23/10/2009 22:21

Hi spooky We've all missed you. It's so quiet without you, lol.

flippin My ring sling was a bargain only £9. I wanted to try one for days where I'm being disorganised running late and I need to get out to pick up the dcs quick.

looby Sounds like the baby yoga was great. I second flippin on the banana thing. Prune juice always worked a treat when my dcs were constipated as babies and toddlers.

Salemchocolates · 23/10/2009 22:24

Gosh, about a gazilion x-posts.

Can't share any wisdom tooth experience I'm afraid.

jenn Hope the vomitting goes soon.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 23/10/2009 22:24

banana yep causes constipation here too..

flippineckitsabitspooky · 23/10/2009 22:27

Thanks for teeth thoughts. I've had one done already using a local, and it was absolutely fine, really quick and straightforward. The problem with this one is the angle it's coming through, he said they might be able to 'swing' it out, but it might have to be cut/broken and taken out in pieces - I guess like yours fi. I think a local would be better in that it won't cause problems with BF and recovery time but it just sounds, well, a bit unpleasant. I'm not afraid of the dentist, pain, GAs or anything liek that really, just can't decide which would have least impact on the family, iyswim.

fi - nope, no lights, feed her in my bed and it's almost pitch black.
