BOO! found you all. Any champers left? I've had a luverly day today...

Hi to texas hope you're feeling better and welcome. BTW we don't usually all have spooky Halloween names... up till yesterday we were all spookyless... new thread cocktails on the other hand are a must!

I was out with a pregnant pal (expecting her 4th in feb) while DS was at pre-school this am. We sat in costa nattering while G slept in the pram drinking hot choc with whipped cream and marshmallows, browsed books in waterstones (have now got the BLW book ) and a potter around other assorted shops. Was very relaxing and I felt quite glam too. I'd washed ALL my jeans and as none of them were dry I actually wore a pre G skirt (a fav denim knee length one) which now seems to fit again YAY, a non t-shirty style t-shirt iykwim, my black opaque tights & ugg style boots. DS was sweet seeing me all 'dressed up' this am and told me I looked pretty Hubby was quite grabby when he got home so I think it made an impression on him too

toffeeapple wow at your crawler! you may well have the 1st walker too at this rate...

Like the new thread title!

Hello, and welcome Texas! Toffeemum - at G's crawling! But well done that man too. DD1 never crawled (bum shuffler, and even that wasn't until she was over 1) so it was very calm in our house fora long time but A seems to be wriggling on her front a lot and quite frankly it scares!

We took the sides off DD1's cotbed today, so she's now in a (junior) bed. She was so excited about it, bless her - but she looks so grown up now, makes me feel a little bit something, not quite sad, but nostalgic maybe? Bugger, can't think what I mean.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 09/10/2009 23:00

flippin how exciting for dd1... have you got a duvet or pillows on the floor in case she rolls out of bed? We had a bed guard on ds's bed but he still managed to roll out a few times!!

Salemchocolates · 09/10/2009 23:00

My my hasn't this been a chatty evening. I've missed most of the fun too catching up with CJ. It's just all sooo sad. I wonder how it will end. I'm a bit sensitive when it comes to watching women having their babies taken away.

fi Sounds like you had a great afternoon. My bigger size clothes are too big now too. 1 pair of black trousers I was dying to shrink into only fitted for about 2 weeks and now they're too big again

Reggie glad to hear you had a great holiday.

I'm getting all confused here with all these new names. I can't remember who's who. I even thought Texas was a namechange at first. I got completely confused, especially cos Texas isn't a very Halloweeny name, lol.

Salemchocolates · 09/10/2009 23:02

OOh, yes, flippin definitely put copeous amounts of pillows and duvet on the floor. Dd fell out of bed the 1st 3 nights, but after that she was fine. Once she rolled in front of the door and I couldn't get in, lol.

flippineckitsabitspooky · 09/10/2009 23:03

fi - funny you should ask that, we have now! After I posted my last message I heard a thud from upstairs so dashed up, she'd fallen out of bed and was just sat on the floor looking puzzled! DH got there before me, so he cuddled her and she went back to sleep (or possibly didn't wake up in the first place). Anyway, we've just found the spare duvet and put it on the floor by the bed. Because its a cotbed it's very low anyway

EtherealFiByTheSea · 09/10/2009 23:04

Yep that's just how we ended up putting the duvet down too

x-posts!

Just realised I haven't mentioned the inlaws yet this evening! They are still be tolerable, which is about as good as it id going to get. I'm ignoring all the little BF digs, although I wish they'd make up their minds, they used to say how wonderful it was that I'd fed DD1 for so long.

What is really really winding me up is just how blinkin lazy FIL is. He never does anything, when he finishes a drink he'll just hold his empty cup up in the air until someone (MIL, DH and I won't) takes it off him. He'll only play with DD1 if she sits on the sofa next to him. He gets 'tired' if he has to drive for more than about 15 minutes so has to have a cup of coffee and a biscuit to keep him going. Yesterday they drove into town - we live 15 minutes walk away! Maddest thing was that he parked the car in a car park that you can walk to in 5 minutes fro our house, and it's still 10 minutes walk from the car park to the shops, bonkers and it didn't save any energy and probably took longer because of the traffic lights!

Phew. Rant over, sorry ladies ghouls/zombies/spectres.

texasholdem · 09/10/2009 23:11

Hi TrickorTReggie and flippineck!

Toffeeapple - is that right, your baby (so sorry don't know if its a DS or DD ) is crawling already?! Wow thats quick! I have a feeling that my DD will walk before she crawls, her legs are sooooo strong! She will take her own weight when standing on my legs and has done for weeks now!

Is anybody watching anything good on telly atm, I am sooo bored!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 09/10/2009 23:13

rant away! your dh & mil must be tempted to just let him keep holding the cup in the air sometimes?! lol i would

texasholdem · 09/10/2009 23:13

oh also forgot to add, I've been trying to think of a good name for halloween but am failing miserablly, so if anybody has any good suggestions, let me have 'em!

thanks

Monstermomi · 09/10/2009 23:14

ah, just poppin back in to say g'night. dd1 keeps gettingup, wailing. think she's having nightmares. have to go back up and cuddle. hope everyone has goodnights.
no halloween nightmares, ok?

EtherealFiByTheSea · 09/10/2009 23:16

texas i've had the telly on but not really paying attention to it... just been sufin the net. The new vampire series 'true blood' is showing again now on channel 4. I watched it the other night and wasn't sure about it. Think i'll leave it on and see if i'm still not sure about it

EtherealFiByTheSea · 09/10/2009 23:17

how about TexasholdemChainsaw?

Salemchocolates · 09/10/2009 23:19

at your FIL. Maybe if he'd walk a little bit more he wouldn't get so tired

Texas, how about texaschainsawmassacre for a halloween name?

Time for to give C her dream feed and then off to bed. Hopefully she'll have a night like last night

EtherealFiByTheSea · 09/10/2009 23:20

lol x posts salem

Salemchocolates · 09/10/2009 23:22

x-post Fi! We're thinking alike I see

I forgot to mention to euroghoul that I also think it's nice to have a tradition where you have a day to remember the dead. My mum refuses to go to the grave of her parents, but we do use the day to get together and think about the people who have passed away. It used to be a big get together with coffee and cake and then sandwiches at night (I'm sure you know the belgian style family get togethers)

Really going now. Night night everyone

EtherealFiByTheSea · 09/10/2009 23:23

night salemchocs

texasholdem · 09/10/2009 23:24

goodnight monstermomi

ethereal - hi there! sorry I missed your previous post, it seems like a really friendly thread! Yeah I think I saw that the other night, I was also a bit . I forgot I had an episode of Project Runway in the sky planner so have just shoved that on

flippineckitsabitspooky · 09/10/2009 23:26

Right, I'm off too. This could be a long night, DD1 has just fallen out of the bed again!

texasholdem · 09/10/2009 23:28

Night flippineck!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 09/10/2009 23:28

flippin good luck... ds was the same the first night & there were some tears when he fell out a couple of times... due to waking up and getting a fright... he never hurt himself. Night 2 was much better and within a couple more days he rarely fell out

EtherealFiByTheSea · 09/10/2009 23:30

texas this is a really friendly thread... you will probably 'meet' a few more of us... although not as many now as we had in our ante natal thread.

texasghouldem · 09/10/2009 23:40

hey ethereal - I didn't actually know about this website until after DD was born!

I've namechanged to a sort of halloween name - couldn't think of anything else!
