In honour of sausage's forthcoming nuptials, with a nod to imminent weaning.

Monstermomi · 13/10/2009 22:30

don't know to both questions llare.

llaregguBOO · 13/10/2009 22:35

Where I live we have to apply by the end of this month for entry next September, momino. There should be info on your County Council website. Don't panic, it might be different where you are !

pulapumpkin · 13/10/2009 22:36

Momi- some schools will have open days/mornings around now. Here, you have until end Jan 10 to apply - worth looking at your local council website to see what the process is in your area (and also what your catchment school is/are), or the school websites to see if they have any open days. We went to one open morning and arranged a visit to another where the head showed us round. Think it was around last Oct/Nov.

Monstermomi · 13/10/2009 22:37

oh, I am panicking, Llare. will call around/ask tomorrow. Nursery defnitely will know.

Toffeeapplemmum · 13/10/2009 22:37

Momi you will need to apply now (for us it is by mid-November) for entry to school in Sept 2010, and your LO will go to school the academic year that they turn 5 in. The best way to find out what you need is to go to the local council website as they should have instructions of what you need to do. HTH.

I'm going to bed soon. Need to get some sleep before the ultimate excitement of the Caravan show at the NEC tomorrow . The old caravan got written off after the mini-crash on holiday, so we need to figure out which one to buy as a replacement.

Night all

Monstermomi · 13/10/2009 22:37

definitely.

llaregguBOO · 13/10/2009 22:39

Tuumum you know I actually thought of you on Sunday. We were at Birmingham Airport and we saw an advert for the show and I immediately thought of you!

Monimo there are posters all over our nursery. I bet it is different where you are.

llaregguBOO · 13/10/2009 22:45

Have a look on your council website. Our deadline (I just checked) is next week, not the end of the month.

zombietom · 13/10/2009 22:45

hehehe at all the sleb hobnobbing! I have had a night on the town with Cradle of Filth (scary band) and met the Krankies (!) once on a ferry. Rubbish really- have seen loads of famous folk though.
Did anyone watch The Family last year? The father (Simon) used to be my boss

zombietom · 13/10/2009 22:48

Looby hope you have been able to have a discussion with DH

llaregguBOO · 13/10/2009 22:49

What is he like? DH and I were avid watchers of that.

zombietom · 13/10/2009 22:52

He was nice actually- he used to buy me croissants for brekkie! He could get a bit grouchy though as you would have seen on the show

Monstermomi · 13/10/2009 22:53

llare, just checked out the York Council website and it's feb when we have to have applications in for primary schools. phew.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 13/10/2009 22:53

momino i've been visiting schools for ds who's due to start in sept 2010. we have to get our 3 choices in by the 24th of this month. my neighbour didn't get her letter and phoned the council after i said she should have. they'd never sent her letter out as they said she'd moved which was news to her!!!

zombietom · 13/10/2009 22:53

He was rather fond of unfunny practical jokes too IIRC

EtherealFiByTheSea · 13/10/2009 22:58

zombie they're repeating it on c 4 in the am's atm.

Monstermomi · 13/10/2009 22:58

good night all.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 13/10/2009 23:05

off to dream feed and bed for me too xoxox

zombietom · 13/10/2009 23:06

Fi I used to struggle to watch it - it felt a bit wierd looking behind closed doors of people you know (not that I know him now). Plus he used to get on my nerves a bit TBH!

It is a great show though- they all seem totally mad (and they are IRL ) and his daughters are hilarious

muddleddaizy · 14/10/2009 07:53

Morning ladies, thank you for all your kind words. Things appear to be better in the muddled house at the moment.

I can't believe how much you guys talk!! Llare & Running, I studied in So'ton too., just not at the uni. According to my friend, Chris Packham went out with her friend. I never saw him though

I have no celeb stories, oh apart from the time I saw Seb Coe leaving the houses of parliment. He was a childhood idol of mine , so I legged it after him to get his autograph. The friend I was with was mortified that I was chasing a tory pm - hee hee! Oh yes and I used to go to church with DJ Talent, before he went all gold

Looby hope all is well with you.

Fi congrats on your dh's exam result!

flippineckitsabitspooky · 14/10/2009 08:02

Morning all.

muddled - hello, glad things re ok atm. Hope it stays lke that, improves even!

Dreadful night here. Well, morning I suppose. A woke at 4:30 as usual, had a feed but would not settle, snotty and windy again. Then DD1 woke at 5am - she came into our room and wouldn't go back into her own bed but wouldn't just cuddle up with us quietly. A eventually went back to sleep at 6, but DD1 didn't, she's going to be lovely later, [sigh].

Quick question about bottles - if your LO has a bottle (BM or F) at the moment, how much milk do they have? I'm going to leave A for a whole day soon (spa!!!!) so need to express enough and I'm not sure how much I'll need.

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 14/10/2009 08:11

Morning!

flippin - I was out from 10-4.30 on Saturday and left DH with about 12oz of EBM. O had about 10oz. I also gave him a good feed at about 9.30 before I left.

Salemchocolates · 14/10/2009 09:37

Morning all.

Good question flippin I had been wondering that myself. I only give C 1 bottle a week to keep her into the swing of things and she only seems to take 4oz at a time, but I always wonder whether it's because she doesn't like the bottle and just takes enough to take the edge of it IYKWIM.
Thanks for the compliments too. I've never been described as elegant before . I was wearing my new (to me) size 12 skirt and it was hanging off me. I think I might have shrunk from a 14 to a 10 since moving here, yay.

muddled Good to hear that it's going a little better again with you and your DH.

I wonder how Looby's DH has reacted to her message.

tummum at you going to the caravan show. I had been looking forward to it, but it's too far for us now. I missed it last year due to feeling yuk.

school applications We just got notified by the nursery itself when the time came to apply. However the nursery was attached to the primary school. It happened with both DCS. Where we came from it was the end of November. I do think that seems soooo early. Especially coming from a country where you go in August to enroll your dcs for September.

C had a lovely night last night. Also no DH in bed to disturb me. So I feel really well rested. It's going to be a laundry day today I think. I've got a huge pile of ironing to do. After that I might take C to baby clinic depending on what time she wakes up. She's also a little snuffly today, but in good spirits otherwise.

llaregguBOO · 14/10/2009 09:54

flippineck I left G between 10am and 2pm with plenty of milk and he had...nothing. DH kept him occupied and after a good feed from me before I went out and I good feed when I got back, he was fine. When I go out in the evening (say after 7pm) he usually gets through about 2 x 5oz bags of milk.

I'm not sure if that helps!

runningscared · 14/10/2009 09:55

Morning all,

rubbish night here A was awake 11.30-2 then rom 5.30 until 9!!! Am having a pj day today.
