Hi everyone!

Bigcar do you want to come over here and do my ironing?!!? Eurgh, I can't be bothered with it! Once I'm doing it, I'll steam through it, its just getting started that's the problem!

Naat what's cobbler?! Do you steam it? Then do you puree it? Tbh, I don't really remember the conflict over the Falklands, as I was only born in 1986... was much more into cartoons than current affairs, lol! We never really did about it in school either, so I don't really know much about it, other than it happened!!

Tee Good luck on Monday x

Strawberry He's gonna be on a 42 Destroyer, which will soon be replaced with the new Destroyers- the 45s. Its called HMS Manchester. It really is a fantastic career, he has everything for him there. And when he is on a ship, he will be getting his wage, and not being able to spend it, so he will be raking it in! He already earns more than me [sob] and he is only 17!! I'm sorry, I don't really have any words of advice about the sleeping, I don't know why your nights are so awful for you. I just hope they get better for you soon x

Daisy wow F has such a varied diet! How do you come up with all those ideas!! When you say he has yoghurt, which one is it? The ones I looked at seemed to have a lot of sugar in them?

hiya June and snowwombat

Hi MrsMcJnr how are things going with DH at the moment? Did DS get so many teeth so early?!?! Take some pictures of a big toothy grin so we can see!!

Problems here with the party now, DP's son has just said he might not be able to come home that weekend now, nooooo! He might have to do a duty!! Noooo! What to do!

Gauchita · 13/01/2010 21:30

Skies, nooooooo ouch, hope he can make it!! When will you know if he's coming? Fingers crossed!
I had never heard of cobbler before, DH brought a fillet the other day just for M (I cut it into mini fillets, about two fingers wide, and I froze them. I got about 8 pieces to freeze) Up to now I've cooked it in a bit of water + milk + a tiny bit of butter and she really liked it. I just cut it into small pieces and spoon feed her I was also tiny when the war took place (2 years old) It's great that DP's son gets to save his wages while he's on the ship! And he's so young! We bought Yeo Valley yog (it's organic and has v little sugar) and M loved it.

Tee, hi!! It's great to hear from you. (Well done June ) Awww so cute Adam is talking away so much! You'll be in our prayers and thoughts on Monday. And come back soon!

whenskiesaregrey · 13/01/2010 21:40

oops sorry gauchita, I called you naat!

Gauchita · 13/01/2010 22:04

skies, don't worry.

Skillbo · 13/01/2010 22:19

Hello

WOWSERS - so many bits to read and am desperate for bed so won't be able to get too personal

Cobbler is a lovely fish and is really mild - we tend to poach most of the fish as it keeps them moist. We have fed Jazzy all sorts, even tuna which she absolutely loves (goes really well with butternut squash). Also fish with peas is a winner here - guess the peas are quite sweet as well as having a different texture again. I think I've already mentioned that Jazzy basically eats what we eat and so she is trying everything - she even had chilli last week. It started out really well but by the end she was gulping water and panting slightly (bad mummy!) No ill effects though (as in 'ring of fire') and she seems to love mince. She also has lots of fromage frais (petit filous - not sure of sugar content but she absolutely loves them and she doesn't have them with every meal so its all good!)

Work is ok - not fantastic as would obvioulsy like to be at home and am worried I'm going to miss out on something which is stupid as I am home by 415! DF doing a smashing job and she always seems happy. I am still a control freak though, can't help it, so all her meals are measured out and prepared before I leave in the morning... makes life easier for DF too as Jazzy is getting pretty mobile and so can't be left for long whilst he fixes her something. Lovely to hear about everyones lo's getting moving - don't they grow up soooo quick. I can't get over how tall Jazzy is getting (and quite plump as well - loves her food like her mummy )

She is sleeping ok but wakes at least once and has had some dreadful nights - think its teething. She still only has one tooth at the bottom - and its getting really big! Keep expecting to see another but no luck so far. Wow, MrsM, A is going great guns! Not sure what to suggest for you Sam as Jazzy never been too bad - I have only co-slept once and it was in the middle of the day and really odd - felt quite spaced out afterwards as I was sleeping (I think) but not really and Jazzy was feeding but not really. Don't think I could do it at night - definitely not now I have to be a proper grown up and get my sorry arse to work.

On the plus side, this morning I drove to work in the snow which for some is obviously hideous but the roads haven't been too bad round here (I'm quite central). I do work out of town though and so drove down some country lanes and the trees just looked beautiful. I don't want it to get any worse but am glad I got to see some of the beauty which I have missed by lounging around at home! Sounds like some of you have really been suffering though so I hope all this new stuff hasn't caused too many pains in the bits!

Anyways - swore to myself I would be in bed by 1030 and cutting it a bit fine so sorry I haven't managed to reply to you all but thinking of you all... not sure what I would do sometimes without this thread as I always seem to have something to pick your lovely brains for.

bigcar · 14/01/2010 10:05

morning all

frantically at tee, lovely to see you again Good talking from A there, just babbling here, no words as yet, hope all goes well monday and they figure a plan of action.

gauchita, thankfully all back at school now, the rain seems to have cleared the roads round here, some of the pavements are still awful but with a bit of luck it will clear during the day. Hope you enjoyed your outing

skies, noooooooo I hate ironing too, that's why I'm over the moon it's all done for now, what with the rotten spd some of it's been on the ironing pile for months Hope your dss makes his party, bet your happy he's going to the Falklands, got to be safer than the Gulf at present, even if he won't get that tan topped up! The conflict was over the sovereignty of the islands, both Argentina and Britain consider they belong to them, it wasn't a long war, just a couple of months from what I remember but enough lives were lost. The vast majority of yoghurt or fromage frais has added sugar, it's just a case of trawling trough all the labels to see which has the least and natural sugar from fruit is better than added sugar. A bit of sugar as part of a balanced diet is absolutely fine. The only ones that don't have sugar added are the plum ones they sell in sainsburys but they are a bit pricey!

skill, glad to hear work hasn't been too bad. Just have a word with J about doing anything new over the weekends E has waited a couple of times to do things when I've been out of the room, sods law will always come into play! Did you decide about expressing at work in the end?

we had a rotten night with E again last night, wouldn't go in his cot at all, happy as larry this morning though Just watching that program about moving to Oz, am going to turn it off, all that sunshine they are having, can't they at least pretend to be miserable about it

waves to all

Effielou · 14/01/2010 11:07

Hello All

Like Tee I had a FB message from june to say come back and say Hi- so HI

Well Rupert was 7months on new years day! weighs about 21lb- ginger bhudda is his name!! Hes stayed roughly on his birth line (91st centile ) so not too worried, my DD was the same and is now a ginger bean pole!! The darling HVs raise eyebrows and the gps are hes fine and a healthy baby!

I haven't been on for ages as I've been having a few "issues" with my silly brain! I've been diagnosed with mild clinical depression/ anxiety issues and am seeing a mental health nurse/ gp and soon to have a mld version of cognitive behavoural therpy! Mainly beacuse I blame myself for "everything" that goes wrong ( my mum blamed me for her Overdose a few years ago and it stems from that) I have had real issues with guilt over Rupert being so poorly when he was born- ie did my painkillers make him ill- did I use the lappy too much- I wished him out too soon!! I had also planned the "perfect birth- and bonding moments afterwards" and they didn't happen- so I have had to get my head round that it doesn't matter- it doesn't make me love him-or he love me any less beacause of it! If that makes any sense! Anyway I am now on some anti-depressants, my nurse wants me to go on stronger- but I'm still BF, so can't take much more. The gp and nurse want me to stop BF- which I know I should- but i can't bring myself too, hes my last baby, so my "sillybrain" says if I stop BF- before I'm ready- then will I always regret doing so!!!

I haven't been on because I didn't want to bore ppl- but as June said- it helps to talk! Thanks hun! I've missed you all xxxx

Rupert is my "sunny jim" ( Imogen is ImiJim- Flynn is Flynniejim- but Rupertjim didn't go- so hes Sunnyjim) it fits him perfectly as he is soo smiley and laughs alot- which as with your own kids- is completely infectious! He rolls and crawls backwards- we got him a leapfrog learn and grove for xams and he looks inbetween a colourful darlick and jabba the hut ( i think thats his name) He adores his older siblings and I love seeing them together!

I turned 35 yesterday and went a bought myself some leggings- and love them!! I'v decided that I'm going to get old and funky! lol.

I haven't gone and read any old posts, as I can imagine there is too many, but look forward to catching up on all the new posts!

So whats the easiest way to stop BF- I've got down to 1 in the morning and a token feed, if hes growling at the boobs- or if they hurt

Hope you all had a fab christmas and hope all the babies are doing well xx

lots of love Steph xxxxxxxxxxxx

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 14/01/2010 17:21

Hello all! I also got June's message. Sorry I haven't been on for ages. No excuses really, just the usual life getting in the way.

DD is thriving, rolling all over the place and sitting up quite nicely, until she reaches for something and ends up on her tummy. She's sleeping quite well now and goes from 7 til about 6 when I bring her into bed and we have snuggly feeds til DS wakes up and we all go down for breakfast. She's 7 and a half months now and I can't believe the time is flying. She's a realy sunny little thing and just smiles all the time. She's teething at the moment though and I haven't been able to get her teperature down all day, despite doubling up on Calpol and Nurofen. She's been in her vest all day. If it doesn't get any better tomorrow, then I'll take her to the GP.

FIL hasn't been out of hospital since Boxing Day and things aren't rosy at all. SIL has brought her wedding forward to Feb so that he has a chance of being there. DH seems quite strong about it all, though he does have his wobbly days. Family are looking to him to be the strong one and and he seems to be coping with it. MIL is a bit of a mess, but getting through the days, it's all you can do really.

We're having our double glazing done and our garden landscaped at the moment. FIL released some of DH's inheritance early so that he could see us use it, so we're trying to get it all organised in time. The snow came at the worst time as it's really slowed down the progress, which is annoying.

Anyway, hope you're all well. Will try and keep a bit more up to date in future!

xx

bigcar · 15/01/2010 13:38

big to effie and ineed, lovely to see you again gauchita (naat) was offering lovely cups of calming tea the other day! Must dash got to pick dh up from work but wanted to say hi

snowwombat · 15/01/2010 16:54

Lovely to hear from you effie and ineed

Just a quick post, cooking some yummy chilli for tea. Does anyone feel like they spend their whole day preparing/feeding/cleaning up after their child? . A loves BLW and being spoon fed when he is tired or v hungry but the mess is incredible! We use long sleeve bibs, have our camping groundsheet under the high chair but I am continually finding bits of mushed up rice cake/pear etc on A, on his clothes and scattered around our flat! I am a messy person, so not easily bothered by this but
aarrggghhh.

Happy friday, hope everyone is ok and you have great weekends.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 15/01/2010 17:20

Hello all.... turns out DD wasn't just teething and had a chest infection too. Do prescribed penicillin as she's had a chesty cough for a couple of weeks and now a temperature... (

Gauchita · 15/01/2010 18:33

Hello all!

Ineed, Effie, hi!!! It's so good to hear from you!

Effie, hope things get better soon. I'm sorry you've been feeling low ((hug)) You know it's not your fault that R was born a bit early, but I know that's rationally, emotionally things can be harder to take in maybe? I'm glad you're getting the support and help you need. Hope you come and "visit" us soon

Ineed, I saw some pics of E this morning on FB, she's gorgeous! Glad to hear she's thriving. Sorry to hear about FIL's health, these things are really hard. Hope the snow leaves soon so that you can finish the work on your garden.

Bigcar, glad to hear the DC are back at scchool. Over here the snow has been replaced by rain and fog Hope E slept better last night and you managed to have a good rest

Skillbo, glad to hear things are going well (and that you managed to drive without any problems ) Oh I can't wait for teething to be over!! Hope these last nights have been better for you. Glad to hear DF is doing great OH and happy "monthaverssary" to J for yesterday!

Hi to all Juners!

A few hard nights over here but we're trying a new routine, based a bit on the one Daisy shared with us, only a bit later as we wake up a bit later I'm hoping me being more organised with her food will pay off wrt sleep

M turned 7 months yesterday but as I mentioned before, is having some hard nights. She has no problem going straight from 7 till 12-1 but after that she doesn't seem to go into deep sleep she's either cold, hot, or just wakes up crying. It's not every night so that confuses me even more Oh well, hope this new routine works

On a bright note, my new phone arrived today our contract was about to finish so we got an upgrade and now I'll enter the iphone world I bet I'll be like M and her triangle with it for a few days

Anyway, hope you have a nice weekend ladies, with as little rain as possible!

Waves!!!

Gauchita · 15/01/2010 18:37

Oh dear, it took me hours to post that so I've xposted baaaadly!

Snow, YES!!! ABSOLUTELY! We have laminate so no mess on the carpet but I'm constantly using floor wipes and cleaning bibs and bibs and bibs Chilli, yum!

Ineed, oh my! GLad to hear she's now on meds, hope it clears soon!

xxx

MrsMcJnr · 15/01/2010 22:22

Wow lots of posts ? I will have to accept that what was said in the past is now in the past so apologies anyone if I have missed something vital (?) well the boys have been gone just over a day and it was very odd last night, as soon as they left I welled up as it was hard to accept that DS wasn?t here. Think the break from DH will do me good, let?s hope the man I married comes home instead of the one that he has become recently ? won?t bore you with all that but suffice to say, things have been tricky recently.

I got lots done last night and today (in spite of Aaliyah waking up every 40 mins all night) but I am running out of steam now so am having a cup of tea then off to bed. A great friend arrives tomorrow for 24 hours. I can?t wait to see her and catch up. I just wish I had the energy to do some grooming before she comes but I don?t and I am too worried that Aaliyah will wake up to put any nail varnish on! I?m a mere shadow of my former self.

Right ? what are you all up too??

MrsMcJnr · 15/01/2010 23:40

So much for an early night ? it?s taken me ages to write this (had to go to Aaliyah twice!)

I know you are all fed up with the snow but I have to tell you that today was the first day it hasn?t rained since 20 December ? I was so delighted to get washing out and to air the place, it is sooooo damp

Aaliyah?s routine (or what I try to make her routine to be!)

@ 7/8 BF & nappy change & snooze until 9 (as usually been up half the night!)

9.30 ? breakfast of toast, fruit puree and cereal.

@10.30/11 BF then nap (normally @ 45mins)

1pm ? lunch of veg/chk then fruit & water to drink

@2.30/3 BF then nap (up to 2 hours)

6pm ? dinner of veg/chk then yoghurt & water to drink

@7.15/30 ? bath with DH & DS then massage & into pjs

@7.45/8 ? snack of porridge then BF

@8/8.30 ? bed generally waking often due to wind or wanting more milk.

@12/1am ? another full milk feed wanted.

Snowwombat ? both my kids seem to hate chicken, strange isn?t it? My friend who was visiting is single, 52 and tried her best with the kids bless her but she just hasn?t got a clue?..! what do you give A by way of snacks? Lots of mess here too!

Daisy5 ? like you, I like my routine to be flexible from a time perspective and as long as I do everything the same way I can get away with doing things an hour either side of usual from time to time. Interesting what you say about the 10pm feed. My DS dropped it early but I still think A relies on that late night milk. I may try water in a month or so and see how we go. I?ve adapted GF?s routine too but results are slow here LOL at Fraser rolling. Aaliyah seems to like getting under the sofa too cauliflower cheese is a hit here as is courgette gratin ? she loves courgette!! Veg is very seasonal here and that is the end of sweet potato now, shame!

June ? Aaliyah cries if I change her nappy when she wakes up, she wants milk first! I started writing down what Aaliyah?s day (well night mostly) was like but I stopped because it was too depressing seeing my lack of sleep on paper! I hope you are right about the teeth, but more seem to be on their way she is biting everything in sight very hard today. Aaliyah loves being on her tummy so we spent quite a lot of time like that, she?s not very good at sitting up unsupported for long yet.

Strawberrysam ? with Aaliyah I think separation anxiety plays a big part, she goes nuts if DH goes to her, she just wants to snuggle up to me to go to sleep. I like you try not to co-sleep but sometimes it is the only way I am going to get any sleep at all. Hope things get easier for you!

Bigcar ? wow, up a step!! It?s scary how many new things our babies can suddenly do isn?t it? Aaliyah seemed to be targeting the pot plants today ? soil isn?t on my menu plan just yet! Great news for DD1

Gauchita ? like the new name Naat! you put me to shame ? Aaliyah hasn?t even tried fish yet

Tee ? will be thinking of you on 16th x

Whenskiesaregrey ? yup DS was early with teeth too but he didn?t suffer as much as poor Aaliyah is when I was 18 my boyfriend (who was in the navy) was sent to the Falklands for 9 months, I thought it was the end of the world. I remember that we had a big Christmas party in July as the men would be away! Good luck planning the party!

Skillbo ? Jazzy sounds like a great little eater glad work is ok and the arrangement with DF and J is working out well

Effie ? happy belated birthday sorry to hear about your issues, hope you get back on track soon. Be kind to yourself x Rupert sounds (and looks) gorgeous

Ineedmore ? sorry to hear that about FIL, I hope you all enjoy the time he has left. Hope DD is feeling better.

June2009 · 16/01/2010 08:21

It's really nice to hear from the juners we hadn't heard from in a little while.
Ineed sorry your fil is not well and I hope Em gets better after a few days of antibiotics.
mrsmc hope you enjoy your break from dh, I have the same problem with nail varnish...
gauchita C woke up screaming at around 6am, then fell right back to sleep. I checked the temperature in her room and it was 15C, maybe she was cold.
Tee I'll think about you tomorrow, hope this is something they can sort out quickly.
bigcar My mates from France all went together to Morrocco for New Year (they've been planning this for the best art of 10 years saving in a joint account etc) I have seen the picture of them in the sun swimming on new year's day and was utterly jealous :D
There should be another gathering in 2015 which I hope we can go to. They all have children and usually all parties welcome children but this trip was child free so on the pictures it just looks like "the good old times" :D (there was 20 of them, few were missing inc. us)
Effie thanks for sharing, sam is having the same problem with her GP wanting her to take stronger antidepressants but cannot because she wants to carry on BF. breastfeeding is such a delicate matter, I remember when I couldn't do it how hard it was mentally and how much I cried over it.
snow it is relentless isn't it. cook, feed, amuse, wind down, put baby to sleep change nappy, feed, amuse, wind down, put baby to sleep etc etc etc :D

C has actually been good at sleeping the past 2 days, we've not changed anything to her routine so I don't know why. fingers crossed it lasts.
We went to have her weighed and she's still on her 25%, happy with that.

Today we're going to see some ice sculpture in Canary Wharf (it's free!) so we're going if dh wakes up in time as he worked until the small hours and the exhibition finishes at 3.

right, I've actuallybeen wathcing what I eat for 2 days now (you have to start somewhere don't you) and highlighted and pritned the classes I can do at the gym with dh's help to look after baby (mainly around 6 or 7 when he usually does the last solids feed anyway), now all I need is some tracksuits and t-shirts big enough to fit my bosoms! My pre-pg training is all too small.

I can hear someone stirring, have a lovely weekend juners!

MrsMcJnr · 16/01/2010 08:44

Aaliyah did manage to sleep 12-5 last night, why don?t I feel more refreshed?? I started to feel guilty last night when I read all your posts that I am not giving Aaliyah a varied enough diet and that I am being lazy etc etc, I have now given myself a serious talking to ? I do the very best I can with her and my DS without much outside help so I shouldn?t beat myself up, it?s hard being a Mum! Doesn?t help that when DH criticizes me and I say that I am doing the very best I can he tells me that that is what losers say

June ? you sound like a woman with a rush of enthusiasm! Good for you! Your friends? holiday sounds great ? we too will all enjoy holidays like that again ? one day!

June2009 · 16/01/2010 11:09

mrsmc please don't beat yourself up, 12-5 is still only 5 hours and that's what A slept, you, on the other hand, probably only got 4 real hours of sleep out of that? That's not enough to feel refreshed.

Easier said than done I know but try and not take what your dh says personally (as crazy at it sounds bear with me) I think your dh may be saying these things because he is not in a good place mentally (maybe nostalgic or depressed or stressed? (wild guess)) and it's easier to be nasty and take it out on the people close to you than being nice iyswim.
I have done this to my dh before when my pill was making me so down.
This kind of problem in communication needs to be addressed at some point, it's hard to find the right time and get the results you want.
I read a great book actually:
Dealing with People You Can't Stand: How to Bring Out the Best in People at Their Worst (Paperback)
by Dr. Rick Brinkman (Author), Dr. Rick Kirschner (Author)

Rest assured that the diet you described sounds absolutely fine to me, we haven't tried fish yet either, just haven't got round to it. It doesn't matter. Anabelle Karmell says chicken is great, there's nothing wrong with it. Of course you are a great mum, it is really hard looking after your children, let alone with no help.
Trust your instinct, I think you have a great instinct.

I hope you have a lovely day with your friend today
Take care, {{big hugs}}

Gauchita · 16/01/2010 11:37

June, what a lovely post there.

Mrsmc, I agree with June, you're doing a great job! You're handling two DC with no help from others, you're a great mum. And I tried fish because I'm a pescatarian and will raise M one as well (of course if she decides otherwise later it'll be fine) so that was the only meat I could try Please please don't beat yourself up. Considering how little A has been sleeping lately, it's not strange that you don't feel refreshed after 4-5hs, it takes much more than that as you have accumulated so much exhaustion. Take it easy.

I also agree with June wrt to DH. I know you haven't told us much lately but things were quite hard with him and if he's in the same place as before (down or depressed or even suffering from bipolar disorder as you mentioned once) then he's going to speak without thinking first. As June said, when you're not OK it's much easier to belittle or treat others badly

I hope you have a lovely day with your friend today. I'm sending you a huge un-MN hug from here.

Hi to all Juners!

Waves!!!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 16/01/2010 14:12

Hello all... DD seems a little better today, though still grouchy. I've put her up for a sleep now with some Calpol so hopefully she'll be more rested and chirpy when she gets up.

DD's 'routine' is:

6am-ish - wakes up and has BF / doze in bed for an hour

7 - 7.30 - downstairs and some porridge with some fruit

Around 9am - a 45 minute nap

10.30ish - snack of toast / rusk / carrot stick with some water

12pm - lunch of meat with veg with rest of fruit from breakfast

Around 1pm - a 2 hr nap

3pm - BF

5pm - Dinner of veg with fromage frais for pud

6.30 - bath / story / BF

7pm - Bed

She does go through from 7 til 6am most nights, though was up at 5.30 this morning so this can vary.

MrsMc - Jeez. I can't believe your 'D'H says these things to you? I know I've been off the thread recently and have probably missed loads of your messages about his recent behaviour, but this is REALLY out of order. I hope that you and A can enjoy this time, even if you are desperately missing DS.

HI June and Gauchita (not used to calling you that!)

Hello to the rest of the Juners xx

daisy5 · 16/01/2010 16:28

Hi all,

Sorry - just a quick post as have some urgent things to do....Lovely to hear your news tee, Ineedchoc & effie. tee - the lump is really curious isn't it. Hope the doctor appointment enlightens you all as to why it appeared. effie - poor you honey with the depression. Oh dear, so much is imperfect when you have a baby - I don't think I know anyone where all has gone smoothly or as they would like it to. Maybe we should all expect the worst and then if anything works out, we can feel mighty pleased!!!!! But seriously, hang on in there...and as for what your Mum said, that really wasn't fair or kind or helpful to say something like that to you, and maybe she was just looking for someone to blame instead of having to look within herself? My mother said some things that haunted me for years until I had two years of counselling and came to understand/accept it was all about her issues with herself and not about me at all. It was lovely to leave it in the past and move on and i hope you get good help so you can too. Ineed sorry about FIL - how sad.

Hope the routine is working for you gauchita - GF says maximum 3 hours of nap per day and even just 2.5 if probs with night sleeping and not after 3pm if going to bed at 7pm (or 4pm if 8pm). This and getting enough to eat and drink during the day are the key things.

Whenskies i've been giving him Plum yoghurts - cream instead of sugar i think.

mrsm - i was the same - as soon as he slept well one niht i would be more tired than usual - strange isn't it. 12-5 sounds a promising start. I am really angry with your DH.....whose performance is so flash that they get to call someone else a loser. Don't give yourself a serious telling off, I think you are doing an amazing job considering how tough your nights are I'm surprised you have any energy to get through the day, let alone come up with inspiring menus!!! Would you not consider giving A a bottle of formula for extra hungry babies just before bedtime. I just had to, as I really wanted to get some rest? I do worry about you.

My wonderful news is that I went to feed F at 10pm three nights ago and the teat was clearly torn as the milk came gushing out, so he rejected it and went back to sleep.....and then slept through the whole night.....and has done for the past two nights. So now on a 7 - 7 regime, Halleluyah. And to think that the week before Christmas he was waking at 10pm and 3pm.

skillbo - thanks for cobbler idea. in fact THANKS EVERYONE FOR FOOD IDEAS - I find dinner easier than supper.....am about to try cous cous with carrot puree and parsley

My latest hit - DATES - the soft ones - he loves them.

daisy dates, what a great idea!

we went to see the sculptures and it was quite disappoitning because it was pouring down with rain, my feet got wet and there was less than 10 sculptures there (and not very impressive either). We had lunch at wagamama though (noodles place where you eat with chopsticks :D) which was fun.

I've been meaning to ask this for a while and keep forgetting:
Which yoghurt can we give to babies? ineed mentionned "fromage frais", any others?

I also figrued that C's good sleeping this week could be due to not having any visitors since Wednesday (though that spell has been broken this pm as sil is here, but wehey for once I don't mind as we haven't seen her this week!) oh eerr and I'm only on mnet my pc to pay the congestion charge.
better get going

morning ladies

effie, good to hear R is doing so well! Sorry to hear you're feeling that way, hopefully seeing somebody will make everything a little clearer. Please don't think you can't post, we're always here for a chat

ineed, hope dd is feeling better now. Sorry to hear about fil, so sad, hopefully he'll make it too the wedding.

tee, hope all goes well today, fingers crossed.

snow, yep, forever picking up after someone in this house and that includes dh! I also think I'm lacking in the tidy gene department. I had a huge blitz on our bedroom on saturday, I'd just dumped a lot of the outgrown clothes in there until I had a little time, now I just need to learn how to ebay and I can get rid of all the junk really useful things

gauchita, hope the sleep is improving for you and M. E has had a couple of good nights, turns out he had an ear infection which I think may well have been the problem, so back on antibiotics again.

MrsMcJnr, hope you had a great time with your friend, must have been lovely to catch up Soil is fine so long as done the blw way apparently I used to eat the cat food that way, never did me any harm miaowwww! Don't be so hard on yourself, you're doing great, this is second time round for you, you won't have the time or energy you did first time with ds and that's absolutely fine, doesn't make you a bad mother!

june, your friends holiday sounds divine! How disappointing, those ice sculptures were on the news and looked like much more of an occasion! We just stick to fromage frais, yoghurt just gets way too messy but I think little stars make a yoghurt for babies as do plum but I have only seen the plum stuff in sainsburys. Good on you for getting back into the whole fitness thing, can't be easy to fit it in with work and C

daisy, great news on cutting out a night feed, what did you decide in the end about bf, if you don't mind me asking? E feeds like a demon at the moment and I'm starting to get sore from all the vigorous sucking

took E back to the gp again last week, he's officially a happy wheezer now Thought he was talking crap but after googling seems that it is a diagnosis of sorts! They won't officially diagnose asthma at this age so this is what we get instead. E is not ill, he's absolutely fine in himself, just wheezy with a horrible chesty cough. He's into everything now, particularly likes eating paper, not sure of the nutritional content on that one oh and shoes, he likes eating shoes too. I'm spending a lot of time telling everyone not to leave things on the floor, he's a man with a mission and when he sees something is off like a rocket

waves to all

bigcar · 18/01/2010 10:37

just spent the last hour trying to work out what the odd beeping noise was, turns out my phone is almost flat, oh dear

Gauchita · 18/01/2010 11:43

hi all!

Quick post!

Bigcar, I'm firmly believing praying this new routine will work, it will! (repeat ad infinitum in your head ) Paper is a fav here too I have to be sooo careful. Oh, and toilet paper, unused of course Glad to hear E is fine despite the "happy wheezer" diagnosis.

June, sorry to hear about the gallery disappointment, but yay for having a lovely lunch at wagamamma, I love that place. Hope the ILs behave this week as well, glad to hear C is sleeping much better when peace reigns.

Daisy, thank you for that tip! Now I understand why she didn't go to bed until 9pm one night last week when she dozed off from 4.30 till 5 Going strong here, I'm much more organised now wrt feeding times and really hopeful this will bear fruits! So happy for you F is now sleeping through!!

Tee, thinking of you.

Ineed, hope E is feeling better now

Right, over here we spent all Sat morning at home waiting for DH's phone to arrive only to realise at noon when the carpenter came to fix something that the intercom wasn't working Grrrr! They're supposed to send someone today and I really hope so as we're expecting sooo many things this week, out of them all of course!

I'm also suffering from some tenderness, esp. in one breast, it stings awfully when milk comes down. I went to have it checked and there's nothing wrong so apparently it can just be her strong suckle now that she's older and stronger So they gave me some anti-inflam... let's see if that works.

Got to run now, lunch for the lady is calling

Hope you're having some sun today as we are!

Waves!!!
