starlover · 07/06/2005 21:17

if everyone says where they are then perhaps we can figure out a midway point. I am happy to have a little weekend break (one/two nights perhaps)...

i am in west sussex

Hazellnut · 07/06/2005 21:18

gossifer · 07/06/2005 21:28

dear tipex
please accept my heartfelt apologies at making you feel so down, i value all the comments made on the feb thread that i joined so late and have realised that maybe i was somewhat insensitive at times; we can all learn from each other and hopefully help each other through our problems and smile and celebrate when things go well; PLEASE don't leave, there is no perfect way and i would love to be able to get to know you better; things are not great with leon and i question myself constantly in my decisions and actions, maybe sometimes i'm not completely honest with myself about how its going; i've been run down for 2.5 weeks, so even when i sound 'up' i'm just trying to be; anyway, i look foward to hearing from you soon

gossifer · 07/06/2005 21:30

hello everyone, i'm in london, xxxxx

Hazellnut · 07/06/2005 21:34

Just to lighten things for a moment but I came on here to say welcome back Angeliz and also to say that, on the Angeliz posted, someone resurrected an old pregnancy thread of yours. I didn't look at the date of the post at first and thought it was a new one and that you were pregnant again..... it gave me quite a shock to think someone with a baby the same age as mine was preggars again !!

as starlover says too, we all have our bad days, i post so little nowadays that the odd one liner doesn't tell it all. i do feel awful that you feel we all ignored you and Jolly

Tipex, tbh, that's half the reason i don't post much as i haven't time to read through thouroughly and feel i'm sort of saying "i'm alright Jack!", and not seeing what athers are doing.
I am sorry and promise to take time and read this thread +properly*!

Please don't go, i like you

Angeliz · 08/06/2005 09:14

take care all mums & babes, hope you enjoyed the lovely sun today (if you got any?? we're in n. yorks, so no chance of a southerly meetup , but loads of loverly sunshine today, yay!)

more hugs

futurity · 08/06/2005 21:01

Found this new thread as well..sorry if not been too supportive but find it difficult to think most of the time looking after my two boys!

starlover · 09/06/2005 08:50

would anyone be up for a weekend overnight meet-up?
somewhere that's in the middle of everyone so we can all get there?

No Tipex, we needed someone to tell us - you were absolutely right. Just hope Jolly4 comes back too so we can make amends !!

Sorry to hear about your nights - you must be shattered.... Can't advise really as, as said before I have done nothing myself which means dd sleeps through (mostly) just picked a 4 leaf clover somewhere along the way. I often think (warning - controversial statement coming up) dd has slept well because she is ff but only because I know what she is taking and she has always taken more than she needs per her size IYSWIM. I am NOT saying you should change your method of feeding and you should congratulate yourself for bf so long. DD never latched on so that was a problematic time for us.

Am back to considering weaning - she has been more unsettled at night for a while now and I have tried everything so might try this next. She will be 20 weeks on Monday, am getting her weighed on friday so will see what the hv says.

Starlover am not sure I would be able to make a weekend meet up at the mo - DH has been working silly silly hours since dd was born (no correlation !!) - eg. on his way home from Paris after working for 48 hours with no sleep and so weekends are a bit precious at the mo.... If anyone fancies a day time week day meet up would be up for this - If people drive would somewhere like Bicester be reachable from Brum/West Sx ??

Gosh have gone on a bit - but just share with you my 15 minutes of fame about to happen - I am being interviewed tomorrow by a poster on MN who is writing an article on IUGR, which is what I/DD had during pregnancy .... is to appear in a mother and baby mag soon....

hello there all,

tipex, i cannot help you with the nights i'm afraid but leon is the same with his naps in the day, a little 10 mins here and there, and there is absolutely NO pattern through the day at all - what i have started to do, as recommended by someone here (starlover??) is from about 5pm not let him nap until he goes down at 10pm to help him sleep through the night; i also find that the more time i spend outside the tireder he is; leon is not weaning yet, am holding off as long as poss!

the last 2 evenings leon has cried and cried for about 4 hours, not hungry, not tired, only happy in someones arms pacing around! was wondering if he could be teething but can't see anything, any tips?

hazelnut - do let us know when your interview comes out, would be really interested to read it

roosmum - sending you sleep vibes if you still need them!

starlover - we are crazy busy on weekends until september!!! when i might be back at work - but i'm more than happy to travel somewhere for a weekday meet up?

and everyone else hello

futurity · 09/06/2005 21:59

Tipex..I don't know how I do it either (the having more than one child thing!). DS2 just has to fit around DS1 and the nursery run so naps are also difficult to sort out as he doesn't sleep for very long unless in cot..but then again doesn't sleep long in there at the moment either but don't get me started on that one! No rolling here but that is not a bad thing as I am not looking forward to when he can move and have access to his brothers toys! We have started weaning though as he was just not a happy bunny on just Mummy milk! When DS1 was born the recommendation was 4 months so don't feel too bad about it especially as DS2 is a big hungry boy. Taking it slow for a while with simple stuff until 6 months..really weird going through it again though...roll on when he can eat adult food though as pureeing does my head in!!

starlover · 09/06/2005 22:01

ok.. well we can stick to daytime weekday one for now!

Tipex... if you go out with ds, and he only catnaps in his pram what happens? does he get really grumpy?
just thinking,.. if he sleeps less in the day then you may get a longer stretch at night?

re weaning, was planning on holding off until 6 months, but Linus had other ideas.
Started waking 3/4 times during the night, and being VERY grumpy after feeds... more milk just made him throw up... so we've started and he LOVES it!!! Can't get enough!
He isn't sitting unaided yet, he just goes in his bouncy chair to have it.

gossifer · 09/06/2005 22:05

starlover - thats great the linus loves the big peoples food, what are you giving him? x
