Am constantly worrying at night Gossifer but it is nice to have dd in summer clothes !! Here I think is a link to the piccie DD

I found myself sitting around chatting about resuable nappies today - its definitely catching - am picking them up tomorrow and bought some flushable liners today so no excuses now !!

tipex.. Linus only sleeps for around half an hour at a time during the day. He will sometimes have a longer sleep around 3 or 4... but more often than not he is awake most of the day!

you can still swaddle when it's hot though. you can just leave baby in a vest and swaddle in a thin sheet

starlover · 21/06/2005 20:45

rhythm time group sounded good as well... is that what it is called? or does it have a particular name? I think DS would like something like taht

Hazellnut · 21/06/2005 20:49

ooh tipex - that sounds loads of fun ! I think we have a similar thing near here but she can't go till she's 6 months and I can't wait !!

Sorry to hear you were up so much in the night - I was up at 4, then 5 and finally at 6.15 !! Oh well, as you say, its just a phase !!

hiya mummies!

have been away from laptop for a couple of days....but yep hazellnet course i've entered the nappy comp, would love some free nappies - as some kind of justification for the pounds i've spent...!

so of starlover's free nappies, our council is mean mean mean.
tipex - that group sounds fab! our fave activity atm is baby yoga, it's the most relaxed i am all week i think, & have met lots of nice people there too . would like to try some kind of music group when roo is a bit older, there's lots about up here, tho it all gets quite expensive. would also like to try out baby signing when he's abt 7-8 mths, went to a taster session a while back & think it wd be fun (& quite useful too, so that i can work out what roo's after)

sleep vibes to all
xxx

starlover · 21/06/2005 23:07

yes roosmum you can enter more than once!!!!

i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to win SOMETHING... i never win stuff so nt holding out much hope! but you never know!!!

jolly4 · 21/06/2005 23:10

starlover · 21/06/2005 23:15

jolly4.. glad that you are feeling a little better today... let's hope it's the beginning of a change for you! Glad to hear you're getting some help from sure start too.
Katy sounds really lovely, i bet you're so proud of her!

Don't worry at all about your house being like a squat! Mine looks like one too, and I have no excuse for not doing anything!

I haven't had PND, but have suffered from clinical depression for years, so know well that feeling of just existing rather than living. You just have to hang onto the thought that things WILL get better...

As you say, it makes it all worthwhile(just about!), when you look at your baby and know that you created this perfect little being... and that they will love love LOVE you unconditionally... PND or not!

jolly4 · 21/06/2005 23:17

just been looking at your beautiful baby starlover linus is a little cutey

starlover · 21/06/2005 23:20

aww thanks jolly

tell me about Katy... does she have much hair? what colour are her eyes?

jolly4 · 21/06/2005 23:25

well i think the reason i got this pnd is cos when i was expecting katy i was previously on ad,s and when i found out i was pg docs just took me off them then my father was seriously ill our pet dog died of cancer i was in an out of hosp with pg had too have cs after really wanting vb you are so ecstatic and on cloud nine that i feel it slowly came over me but i was denying it i didnt want pills any way after a talk with docs i am on them he said i need a bit of help but was concerned for katy as bf but he assured me that these are fine with bf they dothiepin anyway hopefully i will be feeling my normal self soon ha ha whatever that is!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

starlover · 21/06/2005 23:27

oh! you had a really bad time of it really didn't you!!!
i know what you mean about feeling on cloud 9 right after. everything is just so fantastic and surreal...and then gradually normality seeps back in.

i do hope that your meds do their job though. are you having any kind of counselling as well?

jolly4 · 21/06/2005 23:29

i think she will have hazel eyes but they areblue around the edes iykwim she had loads of black hair at birth but she losin a bit she loves laughin and kicks her legs and arms loves too be sung too my little boy who is 8 has blue eyes i have hazel but there dad has blue but she is the image of her father

starlover · 21/06/2005 23:30

aww she sounds lovely. Does your DS like having a little sister?

Linus laughs if I sing to him... he's the only one who can bear to listen to me though! LOL

jolly4 · 21/06/2005 23:35

no but did have cbt iykwt abbreviation means i do open up too my midwife who is the midwife for bf support group who did make me feel good about myself today she is doing a course on bf and she said needs a mum who bf as a support to talk too mums who bf or want too bf and she wants me too do as she said i am good with people an very good listener i can get things across without sounding judgmental and have a relaxed manner so i feel really good just by her saying that

jolly4 · 21/06/2005 23:37

sorry gettin carried away yes his name is jared trying too encourage him too sing too her with me he kisses her an tells her what a pretty girl she is

starlover · 21/06/2005 23:40

he sounds like a sweetie too!
as does your midwife... glad you are getting support from her. I have a couple of friends who got on really well with CBT, although i don't think it's for everyone!

You definitely should help your midwife out and go along and talk to other mums about B/F... it'll be a fantastic confidence booster!

starlover · 21/06/2005 23:41

i have to get off to bed now... but do make sure to come on now and then and update us jolly! and take care

Hazellnut · 22/06/2005 08:18

Hi Jolly4 - great to see you back and pleased to hear things are on the up a bit. Katy and Jared sound lovely and its nice to hear Jared obviously loves his little sister.

Isn't it amazing where time and has gone and they are now all rolling and eating and laughing. Anna is 5 months old tomorrow !!! She woke us up this morning cos I think she had wiggled over in her cot and bashed her head on the cot bars !!

Another booootiful day - am off for a walk in Richmond Park later today with a friend and her two daughters (2 1/2 and 3 months old)...

Am a bit concerned regarding the amount of competition for these nappies in the Mumsnet competition. I have so far entered twice and desperately trying to think of more recipes/ tips etc.... I AM going to win.....

Hazellnut · 22/06/2005 08:21

By the way Jolly4 well done for getting involved in helping others to bf. In hndsight that was something which may have helped me to BF as someone who has not long been through it all would have a lot of empathy for those struggling, so I can imagine what a great thing to do this would be.

Good luck with this and come back soon !

gossifer · 22/06/2005 09:48

morning all, another lovely day
jolly - katy sounds like a beautiful one, you must be so proud of all you've acheived, i sometimes gaze in wonder at leon, that he's (almost) all from me! i know what you mean; helping other mothers bf is a wonderful idea and what a compliment - i wish i'd known someone like you - i didn't even know about mumsnet and the midwifes all made me feel like i was doing it all wrong - good luck!
hazellnut - she is stunning - what a smile
tipex - thankyou for the kind words - i will keep that mantra in mind!
the music thing sounds great - i've heard of a few rucksack music & monkey music, but they all seem to be for 6months+ so waiting for that
leon is rolling both ways now - help!

and may i wish luck to all competitors!!!

gossifer · 22/06/2005 09:53

starlover - you could sing for leon & me any day & we'd applaud!!!
