Ooo Simpson - have a lovely time!

My SIL just announced to the world I'm pg on FB by writing a message on my wall. Ho hum. Last time it was my head of department who I told because of a staffing issue and went straight to tell our headmaster. I guess if you want something to stay a secret you shouldn't tell anyone!

madmouse · 10/11/2009 22:33

LaT that's thoughtless - she can easily remove it or you can hide it if it is not too late

How's the sickness - not I hope

Hello all, have allowed myself to get behind again. Will try and catch up.

Lily - thanks, yes I have already made my wish for Christmas 2 days post-op and we should be seeing some good news...

Simps - thanks too. Hope you had fun with brother & meeting Madmouse Homework already? poor kid! (try and find out how long the school says he should spend on it and don't go over that even if he's not finished (unless he wants to obv) - and write on it, spent Xmins)
How was Windsor Castle???
And has M recovered?

Gingeme - glad you had a good birthday New bed sounds fab! Hope your nephew is staying safe. Guess you can keep sending out small parcels then? I would love putting them together if I had someone to send them to

Nicky - I have lots of probs with MN atm, i have to preview each message, then post otherwise i lose it. v annoying.

LaT - nightmare! Hope you are feeling ok?

Well, not much happening here, think the ADs must be kicking in as i'm feeling much calmer
H the same.
Giving T his balance bike today as a friend is borrowing his trike. Don't think he's totally convinced by the idea but hope the reality works!
DH has the afternoon off so we're going to the park (brr!) to let him test it out

LaTrucha · 11/11/2009 16:41

Hi guys

I think I've hidden it. If one of you is on there, could you have a look? It was a couple of days ago now but it was still on the first page IFSWIM.

Feeling knackered and ok in turns. Nausea but no sickness yet. Tomorrow was the day it all started last time, so fingers crossed!

JKS - glad you're feeling better.

Sorry I'm being rubbish at keeping up. I nap when Sabela is asleep now.

I've also realsied that now the nightmare of maternity clothes begins again. I didn't buy much last time and wore what I did buy to death and looked rubbish because I couldn't find anything nice (and I wasn;t leaving the house, so..) Ugh. They are just grim for someone who doesn't wear jeans!

JustKeepSparkling · 11/11/2009 17:00

Nope still there LaT.

Maternity clothes - yuk! Am determined to buy some nice ones next time but they are ££ and it's hard to justify.

Sure I saw some cheaper ones the other day somewhere, can't remember where though !

simpson · 11/11/2009 17:48

LaT - still there....

Had some good news today, finally!!! New bathroom only going to cost me £800!!!

As the insurance will cover everything else. Am knocking loo & bathroom into one, new tiling, filling in a doorway and new bathroom suite.

Insurance paying for labour of bathroom suite: going out of bathroom suite and back in again (but I will replace with new iyswim), new lino, old floor ripped up and new one down and new ceiling in front room. Also will get new carpet in front room when everything else is done.

Down side is work will not start this yr

On the Windsor Castle front. It was v posh and I nearly had dress malfunction as almost forgot to zip it up only realised minutes before leaving. Would have been most

80 odd people all getting awards. Nick faldo got knight hood. Lots of men in suits carrying what looked like big velvet pin cushions some with swords on (incase anyone lunged at Queen?? who knows )

Queen had someone whispering in her ear as she came to present each medal obv. filling her in on name etc and she looked most pissed off and wanted him to shut up, so she must have known all the names and what they got medals for

Meal v good. Simple but v yummy!!!

My dad had his hands full with M but she was not too bad

While out this morning, a local playgroup I had M down for left message to see if I want place. A most definate yes

Will call them back tomorrow!!

nicky6 · 11/11/2009 20:27

ok thats 2 mammoth messages that have not loaded - how annoying will preview and post.

Noah and charlie bit poorly made for fun day.

hope i managed to add people on facebook and you could see pictures of my 2 little devils

cant rewrite everything again too knackered.

Lilyloo · 11/11/2009 20:46

Great news Simps it will be worth the work and prob best they don't start before xmas as it would be a nightmare to have no bathroom etc then!!!
Your day sounds very grand!!!

LaT fingers crossed for you , hope it's a much smoother pg this time.

Nicky i wouldn't bother love with the long posts

MM hope you ok ?

JKS glad to hear the ad's helping!!

Gingeme bet you can't wait for Friday

Had some nice news for L today. Her dancing teacher wants her to have private lessons as she is showing real potential and is being held back by her class. She was so pleased and i was very proud. With H taking the limelight all the time it was nice for her.
Just got to find more ££££ to fund it.
And there's me hoping for a new pair of slippers to replace my holey ones for my birthday next week!!!!

gingeme · 12/11/2009 13:11

Afternoon all. Oh no there is a big empty space where my bed used to be to be filled by this time tomm by a brand new king size one!
Right now Ive shared that Im off to clean the skirting board in our room

LaTrucha · 12/11/2009 13:40

Simpson - good news about the bathroom. When do you think they'll have it done?

Gingeme about the skirting board. I'm hoping that if I give it long enough, my house will learn to clean itself

Lilyloo- oo haven't you got talented little ones? Do you have a lot of physical ability running in the family?

So, from me some good news that won't sound like good news at first. I was sick this morning and I'm really pleased. You may be thinking but I actually felt better after it. LAst pregnancy, I was sick once and I literally didn't really stop for FOUR DAYS. So, I'm now hopeful I'll just get normal morning sickness.

LaTrucha · 12/11/2009 13:43

Oh, and can I have your opinions about length of skirt in maternity clothes? I want a denim one (and my current waistbands are beginning to get tight already ). Do you think on a size 14 me, a above the knee, below the knee or a maxi would look best? My current thinking is that below the knee will look frumpy, above the knee will look tarty, and I'll look like an ocean liner in a maxi.

Help!

madmouse · 12/11/2009 14:54

LaT praying every day that hyperemesis will not come back and so pleased that you feel different this time.

Why don't you try the skirts on see what works - I know last time you were too sick to try anything on but you may manage this time. I am no help - such horrid legs I only wear long skirts.

Lily very pleased for L and her dancing - for a while as a young girl I was the same but I was lucky my school had a 'selective' group for those who did better than their own group where we got extra tuition for free or only a little more. Guess it wil be a matter of scraping those pennies together if at all possible.

I'm still here - not posting much I know but talking to a few people on fb. Seem to have entered a new phase in processing the whole abuse thing and that seems to involve lots of sadness and crying! Used to never be able to cry so takes some getting used to...

OP posts:
LaTrucha · 12/11/2009 15:11

Thanks Madmouse. I appreciate it. I'm glad the counselling seems to be going well. It sounds like progress to me, even if it may not feel like it. Keep up the good work!

I did actualy have a moment with my head down the toilet when I thought, 'Well, it's vomiting, but it's ok vomiting' The things hyperemesis does to you

gingeme · 12/11/2009 16:28

LaT don't get the skirt? That solves that problem I hate denim skirts but then I hate skirts full stop. I hate my legs but anyway...
I had to clean my skirting board because our room is so damp I clean it every few weeks otherwise its covered in mildew
Yes it does sound like progress madmouse keep up the good work.
Sounds like you had a fab day Simpson and great news about your bathroom.
Im going for a girly night to my rl friends tonight. She is moving to Australia next Tuesday so this will be a farewell curry
Took George to playgroup this morning. We don't usualy go on a Thursday and there were only 6 other kids there so us Mums had a good gas while the kids all played well together.

simpson · 12/11/2009 20:15

Grrrr posted long message but not appearing

LaT - I like just above the knee length skirts on myself, but best to try on maybe

Lilyloo - well done L

Gingeme - on night out, enjoy!!

JKS - glad AD's working How did T get on with balance bike??

J loves his and I suspect that although he has a "real" bike for Xmas he may want to continue with balance bike as he can zip up and down outside with his friends with no help from me iyswim.

Madmouse - know know where I am

Nicky - hope DCs better soon

MrsMcJnr · 12/11/2009 21:28

Hey ladies how are you all? Can I ask about naps? What is the story with your little ones? Xavier certainly needs a nap although not two anymore but he really resists them which can be exhausting. He is quite willful at the moment, continuing o do things over and over again when asked not to, is it the same with you? We?ve had lots of new words this week: cheese, plane and car key. I was at the dentist on Monday and I took him with me, the dentist checked his teeth (as much as he?d let her) and she said he seemed to have all the teeth he should for his age.

MrsMcJnr · 12/11/2009 21:33

MrsMcJnr · 12/11/2009 22:10

Ange ? good to hear that your DS adjusted so well to a big boy bed we had traumas with Xavier. We had to move him to a bed back in July as he was climbing out of his cot and I think he was just too young to realise what was going on and we weren?t able to do a gradual transition. He loves the bed now but still hates the stair gate at his door but it has to be there if we are to have any hope of him (and us) sleeping. You should see the mess he makes of his room when we put him down for naps ? see photo on my profile!

LaT ? I have a friend with that age gap between her girls and her older one started nursery the month before the baby arrived, she loved it from day 1 and my friend is so pleased with how it has all worked out. Hope you are feeling well I haven?t tried playdoh with X, think he would eat it! Insomnia was one of the first signs of pregnancy for me. Sorry to hear your SIL blabbed I bought a lot of mat clothes on eBay this time round ? worked for me! Think denim mini would be fine, especially with tights. I was in mat clothes at 13 weeks with Aaliyah ? the waist was the first thing to expand this time! Any name thoughts yet?

Simpson ? so sad about J and the pumpkin my DS would love a dolls? pram! Love M?s nursery rhymes ? something for everyone! What is a bobbin anyway? Hope you had a good weekend. Glad you had fun at Windsor Castle ? my Grandpa is a MKW and they live in the grounds ? always fun when ordering pizza!

Lily ? hope you are feeling better waybuloo bath pod sounds interesting (Aaliyah loves that!), Xavier is still really into ITNG, I have got him a CD to go with his CD player. How lovely for L and the ballet!

Gingeme ? wow, organised lady! I have got a good start on the kids? presents and on the stockings but that?s where it ends. Am taking the kids to a photo studio for photos for the Grandparents as their presents. LOL about the chocs, that is what happens here too! Hope you had a lovely birthday and are enjoying your bag and shoes! do you have your lovely new bed yet?

JKS ? DH and I are having a kitty for our trip back to Scotland in the summer so we?ll not get each other presents this year and have a lovely meal on our trip instead sorry to hear about the timings with H. it will be such a relief when it is over though. We had Christmas last Friday with the in laws as they are over at the moment. We had the works including decorations and Christmas music, I felt quite festive! You said ?next time round? on the subject of pregnancy, you planning more babies? I would like more too

Hey Nicky6 ? lovely photos

Madmouse ? glad to see you hanging in there

Lilyloo · 12/11/2009 22:22

MrsMc wow took me back there with you fab update
M still anps in the afternoon usually about 12 after her lunch. She would have 2 hours if i let her! Love X new words We also going through a 'very willful' stage too

LaT i would go over knee too. Great news about being sick!!!
I was quite into dancing when i was a kid and dp was into rugby. However our activity now is running around after these 3!

Simps are you noticing any change in J moods ? L seems so much better already this term. Am getting my lovely smily girl back. Well most of the time As long as she is in bed for 7 (touch wood) the tiredness seems manageable.

Gingeme what are you sleeping on tonight Not so good about the mildew , my sis really has it bad in her rented house it must be so hard to keep on top of it!
Hope tonight isn't too sad!

MM glad things are progressing even though it may not feel like that at the minute. You are our guardian angel of the thread always watching over it!

Thanks all on comments on L i would never boast out there but is safe in here it is lovely to see them excel in something. Esp L as she is so much more introvert than H , she was so pleased when the teacher told me. Will find the money , danger being we have for H for his football not mentioning the time we have invested in him. And i am a stickler for wanting them all to have the same chances. Hope M doesn't take up something different or may as well give up now

gingeme · 13/11/2009 14:46

Afternoon ladies.
Had a fab night with a gorgeous take away curry. We all shared so I tried a few nice things I wouldnt normaly have. My friend is trying to get rid of her alcahol before she moves so we were drinking some interesting cockails
I slept on the put up bed my Mum usualy sleeps on and DH slept on the blow up bed which is so bloody noisy every time he turned over I am so tired today. New bed arrives any time now till 4.30. I'm popping to the window every now and then to see if the lorry has come
Right off to put some more washing on. xxx

Lilyloo · 13/11/2009 19:45

So Gingeme what's it like

MrsMcJnr · 13/11/2009 20:01

Hope the bed arrived Ginge! Another bad afternoon from a little boy who refused to nap!

JustKeepSparkling · 13/11/2009 21:24

Yes Ginge, what's it like - not that we'll hear for a while i guess!

MrsMc - we had similar nightmares getting T to nap when he was the same age, i persisted for a while (as H was a baby and I needed sleep) but gave up eventually. good luck!

Hi everyone else, rubbish at catching up

Lilyloo · 13/11/2009 21:59

dd 6 ??????????????????????????????????

simpson · 13/11/2009 22:37

gingeme - has bed arrived yet??

Lilyloo - J still very tired but he knows I will not tolerate screaming on floor etc so he is sent to his room to do that but still v tired so struggles to eat tea etc

Does L get lots of homework?? ATM J only seems to get it for w/end but if he starts to get it in week may have to say someting as I feel he is too tired tbh

Mrs Mc - TBH I don't always put M down for nap in day now, depends on what we are doing tbh ie today we met freind with DC M's age for luch at theirs so M played etc.

She was very tired by end of day but she goes to bed at 6 anyway so she lasted just
