hi

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

No shame in that. I'm scared of taxis too. Had to get my Mum to come with me when I needed to use one earlier this week.

What have you been drinking? [nosey moose emoticon]

We went to a really nice new cafe in a park we've never visited before, about half an hour's walk east of us - most places we visit are somewhere west. A group of us have decided we're launching a new NCT branch so that we can do things more locally - at the moment we're in a branch where most of the membership and all the events are in the more affluent west of the borough/area. We're going to celebrate Halloween and try to publicise our fledgling branch at this cafe.

It was also a nice afternoon because we spent it with another family we've seen quite a bit of recently and it feels like we're building up some new friends. A is currently local NCT contact and is going to take on membership in our new branch, and her dds are a few months older than DS1 and C. Last week we went to the girls' joint birthday party (3 and 1) on a farm, but this week DS1 and A's DD1 really seemed to play together very well and DS1 got sad "because my friend is going" when they set off home. She boased him around and told him off for pushing another child in the playground and got him to say sorry, but he really seemed to respond well to it, I'm all in favour of another child persuading him to play nicely!

Dog you are not fat at all! You are gorgeous - I have seen the photos.

No-one will think you are a trollop, we all thing you're lovely. You are young and should be out having fun at your age AND you are not blocking up the thread, there's tonnes of room left on this one and when it runs out, we'll just start another one.

I have exactly the same fear about taxis - I'd never get in a car on my own with a strange man under any other circumstances so why would I feel any safer because I'm paying to do it?

(I'm still up waiting for a lovely lady on another thread - who doesn't believe she's in labour - to deliver her baby. Dh is sat next to me on his laptop as well. Perhaps we should start emailing each other.

Elkie sounds lovely. I'm not very good at making rl friends, spend too much time mumsnetting hiding at home. I am finally going for a coffee next Tuesday with the mum from ds2's class that invited me though.

I really should make the effort. Ds1 and 2 never went to mother and toddler or playgroup so didn't really mix until they started school nursery at 3.5 yrs old. [bad bad mummy emoticon]

moosemama · 11/10/2009 00:08

moosemama · 11/10/2009 00:09

lol dog

missjackson · 11/10/2009 11:06

LOL dog at 'girn'ing.... hope you had a good night anyway. Up at 8am, ouch, that's gotta hurt....

pat we have the same baby... N is super-clingy, had to brush my teeth this morning holding him. First time for me, so I am hoping this phase thing that everyone speaks of really is just a phase... well, guess I won't be brushing my teeth holding him when he's ten. Fingers crossed. Velco baby is driving me slightly potty. Lenni, is D the same? I must have fed N about 8 times last night - obviously not feeding, just a comfort suckle... must persevere with book.

MM funny you and your DH on the laptop side by side... my OH feels left out when I am on the net so tend to limit it to when he's not here. Which is all the bloody time atm... can't wait for November. He has promised me an ikea trip... cannot do alone.

What to do with my Sunday? Slept until 10am (N was with OH from 7-9am, and then came back to bed with me), then has taken me an hour to shower and dress both of us. Currently enjoying my coffee while N engrossed in a farmyard set.

Off to ogle photos of Z and D now....

missjackson · 11/10/2009 18:54

Where is everyone?

Gorgeous pics of Z and D - and pat you are looking fab! Can't wait to get the 3 bruisers together! And of course dogs smiler - she will have those 3 under her thumb in no time I am sure!

OH actually managed to come home at 3ish, so I spent the afternoon listing stuff on ebay - it takes forever - well, it takes me forever anyway.

N asleep already! Record time - less than 4 mins - but doesn't count as he is SHATTERED - last nap was at 1pm for about thirty minutes.

Looking forward to Emma tonight - I love a period drama in front of the fire on an autumnal Sunday night!

PatTheHammer · 11/10/2009 19:07

Am here MissJ but just trying to get Z off!

Thanks for the compliment, I have just weighed myself today and realised I only have 1 stone left to lose Finally feels like the end is in sight at last, I hope to be there by xmas!

You are right about little Isla smiler having the big bruisers under her thumb.....she is a woman after all!

was Emma any good? I am sky plussing it, but haven't got round to watching it yet.

PMSL at Dogs drunken antics, sounds like a fun night

Elkie and Moose, yay to new friends!!

moosemama · 11/10/2009 19:21

I'm here, ish. Have been wandering the boards from my sick/side effects bed today posting advice nonsense wherever I go.

Ds1 is really poorly. Raging temperature, really horrible cough and feeling hot one minute then cold the next. He can't even manage one mouthful of his tea and has asked to go to bed instead. He looks awful, poor soul. So it looks like dd and I will be having company at home during school hours this week. I really hope he hasn't caught the virus that dh and I have had because its truly horrible and lasts for almost a fortnight.

Have to go and do a quick Tesco online shop now as we seem to be running short of food this week for some reason. I am so disorganised at the moment, I really don't know where my head is at.

Am really getting that I can't see all these lovely facebook photos. Think I will have to cave in and sign up someday soon.

PatTheHammer · 11/10/2009 19:27

Moose, I will stick one of D and Z'z little outing on my profile, just for you

Poor Ds1

PatTheHammer · 11/10/2009 19:39

Right, done that for you. Just click on my name to see. The one at the top is Z and Lenni's DS, underneath is when Z met MissJ's DS a few months ago.

I am sooooooooooo hoping for some sleep, he has been impossible last night and this morning. Then lovely and good-natured (if a little clingy) all day, then meltdown this evening. I think i can probably match your 8 times MissJ! Finally dragged myself up at 8.45 this morning then had to rush out to visit DH's dad and stepmum, popped out for lunch and then picked up the most enormous pumpkin I have ever seen from the farm shop on the way home. DD has been spawn of the devil all afternoon after impeccable behaviour in the restaurant at lunchtime.I now have marking to do and clothes to get ready for tomorrow.....if I can muster up a tiny amount of energy.

On the plus side he is doing solid nappies again after a week of vileness. So every cloud hey!

Velcro baby getting a little less velcro-ey. Shame about his older sister who is still velcro baby at 2.9

Shattered as rubbish sleep all week so no chance to catch up properly but thought Pat would appreciate knowing that DS has had to have another haircut today! I want a baldy, hairy boys are too high maintenance. He also has his first pair of shoes courtesy of a trip to the Trafford centre. Size 4!!! And he was borderline 4.5!!

missjackson · 11/10/2009 22:06

Missed the end of Emma as N woke up... great timing - Pat it's quite good in a comfortable sort of way - not mega-engaging but nice and easy to watch when you are half brain-dead like me atm.

at shoes, Lenni - was just about to buy some on ebay (those cute shoo shoo things) but then thought actually we should try on first as he has MASSIVE feet.

tea what rubbish in-laws! Mine can be 'challenging', shall we say, but at least they are all over N, as they should be.

MM hope you all feel better soon.

missjackson · 11/10/2009 22:06

ps where's tree tonight? Hope christening was fantastic! (it was today, wasn't it?)
