Helllooooo!!

Just in from Christening, it really was lovely Sunny day, lovely service, great great food, and all my friends from far and wide with their dc's. We got lovely pressi's really lovely thoughtfull gifts. ANd Harriet looked and was a star, dd1 was a bit unnerved at not being 'it' all day but she enjoyed her day too. I am feeling very loved up and happy

Our pics are pants though, but will upload to fb asap. Hopefully others will have nicer ones. Fingers crossed.

moosemama · 11/10/2009 22:13

Oh thank you Pat. What cuties they are, I love chubby babies they are just asking to be hugged. Have to say they look huge compared to dd though.

Lenni, dd is still a size 1 shoe and those have a tendency to fall off as they are too loose. Have bought her some 6-9 month winter clothes and they don't go anywhere near her yet, even though her weight has now gone almost back up to its original curve.

Tea my outlaws haven't seen their grandchildren since before we went on holiday on 9th August and they only live a 5 minute drive away! They'll be telling everyone its our fault because we never visit, but they are away every weekend in their caravan so when exactly do they think we can visit them? Oh well, their loss.

Am still struggling to do my online shop. My head is so foggy I can't seem to get my head around what we need especially with a view to what ds1 will need now he's poorly.

Last antibiotic later tonight so hopefully I will get my brain back and normal service will resume shortly. That said, I am sitting here with a sore throat feeling very hot and sweaty so who knows - god why is it always like this at the start of the school year.

newspaperdelivery · 11/10/2009 22:44

Ooo Moose I hope you don't get sicj again You have had a right few months of it!!

Pics on fb - such as they are. I really hope my friends have better......

moosemama · 11/10/2009 22:51

Am trying positive mental attitude News

Poor old ds1 is so poorly, he threw the calpol and tamiflu we gave him straight back up again. (We still had 2 pills left from last time we though he had sf and as he has vomiting and diarrhea as well this time, we though we'd better give him some sooner rather than later.)

Anyway, enough of lurgies and the like - how did it go? You have to tell me all about it cos I can't see the photos.

Oh fgs, ignore me, just read your earlier post we must have crossed somehow and then I had to finish my shopping so only just came back.

Glad you all had a lovely day and H was a superstar. I think the learning to be second place on birthdays etc is one of the toughest lessons for siblings so well done J.

moosemama · 11/10/2009 22:56

Just noticed your post as well Dog, sorry am really not with it. Great news that A coped with soft play.

Thanks Dog. He seems to be having a tough time of it with viruses etc just recently. He was so ill at the end of July we were convinced he had swine flu then, but this is worse if anything. Its unlike him to get things really badly, he usually gets a temp, throws up once, falls asleep and is right as rain in the morning. He hasn't been ill this badly, or this often, since they thought his immune system wasn't working properly when he was about 3.5 and he was referred to paeds.

Have got the baby monitor on in his room and haven't heard a peep since he went to bed, so am hoping he will sleep really well and feel a bit better tomorrow.

newspaperdelivery · 11/10/2009 23:08

That's good news Dog re:mr A

Moose - am chanting as we speak darling.

The Baptism - service was good. We were very nearly late and had to get hat changed there as she wouldn't fit in car seat in the gown. So was harassed before we started! Plus house was a total shed and loads of relatives who have never seen our house arrived unexpected so I nearly fainted.

Priest was lovely, very modern and funny and relaxed. Basically washed Harriets hair in the holy water everyone was
It wa s anice service though, everyone stood around the font and there was a round of applause at the end.

Hotel was brilliant. Mum pulled out the stops and made table decorations [hessian bags filled with heather] and a huge table centre peice of hydrangea [in autumnal colours form garden] and thistle. I did the cake and we used a pic of Jess on her day in same gown too, so it looked so pretty. The cake had flowers from Jess's cake too, which we have stashed for last 4.5 years. Cream roses, they looked lovely.

Dinner was lamb, yorkshire pud and roasts and veg, it was deeeeelicious. Melt int he mouth. Veggies had mushroom adn pea risotto which was very nice apparently. Pud was white choc mouse with rasperry purree and was really really good. Coffee took ages, but hey ho. Kids had chicken and chips - I always think best they eat and be happy than hungry but healthy

Jess had a nice time although she was a bit as she was a bit snubbed really . I'll have a little chat with her tomorrow, and show her how many pics she's on etc.

Pressis - amazing really. Got nearly £200!! so Santa Sleepover at Alton Towers is on Harriet Check them out they are great. Also lovely music box, silve letters spelling name [posh graffiti ones, we have them for J], lovely books on people and their differences, and religion and it's differences, in flap and pop up style - a realyy good book. Really thought provoking for children. Other lovely things.

Best thing:my aunty and cousin and 6 month baby came from Irelans, my uni friends came 100's of miles with their dcs, in the their precious weekends, 2 are pregnant. I really appreciate the time an expense they went to.

newspaperdelivery · 11/10/2009 23:09

Long one - sorry!!

newspaperdelivery · 11/10/2009 23:10

Fingers crossed for ds Moose, and for you too

moosemama · 11/10/2009 23:24

Thanks News.

Sounds like a lovely day.

We have the "All Kinds of People" book with the lift the flaps etc, is it that one? We bought it for ds1 wnen he was about 2.5 I think.

I'm sure you'll get lots more photos off your family and friends, there's bound to be some some lovely ones, you are such a gorgeous family.

elkiedee · 12/10/2009 00:12

moosemama · 12/10/2009 11:13

Morning News and Tink.

Well the PMA obviously did its work (thanks for the chanting by the way) as I have a bit of a cold, sore throat and earache this morning, but nothing like what ds1 has got.

Ds1 is brighter, hasn't been sick again but still has a horrible tummy, cough, headache and sore throat. He has just eaten a bit of toast, so we'll see if that stays down. Don't think it is swine flu though, I'm sure he had that in July the wheezing etc and rapid decline was frightening that time.

Managed to finish my Tesco order, so have lots of nice comfort food arriving shortly. Think we'll just have a quiet snuggly sofa day, although dd appears to have other ideas and is into everything this morning.

Tink my boys bought Elefun at a school summer fair for a pound. They love it.

moosemama · 12/10/2009 15:57

My ASOS Mini Boden sale bargains have just arrived and they are lovely. Got 6-9 and 12-18 months in 2 packs of pink and blue picot edged tshirts and 2 packs of green dotty and green and pink floral tshirts plus pink and green cardigans and a cute dress by some label called Ticket to Heaven.

Its unusual for me to bag a genuine bargain, I'm well chuffed with meself.

Have just been eating hot buttered cinnamon bagels with the boys (although half of mine had Green & Blacks Chocolate Spread on if I'm honest ).

Ds1 is verrry weak and wobbly after having to walk the the school to collect ds2 with me this afternoon even though we only went at a snail's pace. I have been letting him play educational games on my laptop this afternoon but he really needs to sleep now.

Sorry, just realised I am randomly muttering away. Will slope off now and do ds2's homework with him.

missjackson · 12/10/2009 16:36

Boden stuff really is lovely MM - sounds like you have some good bargains. I considered getting tshirts for next summer but who knows what size N will be by then!

tree baptism looks like it went off wonderfully, and sounds like you had a great day.

Ok ladies, I have to come up with a decision about job offer. 10 weeks starting end of Nov. First 4 weeks would be regular 10 - 6ish, so I could hang out with N from 7 - 9am, and 6.30 - 7.30pm bedtime. Fine. Then there would be 2 weeks of various different shifts, and then finally 4 weeks of the actual job, if you see what I mean , which runs throughout january. During this time I would sometimes have to do a 2 day shift where I basically wouldn't be home (only a few hours at night). OH would look after N 24-7 . My question is, I suppose, do you think it would be unfair to N to go from being with him all the time to hardly seeing him over the course of 10 weeks?

Am really, really unsure. On the plus side - fun, independence, money, good for N and OH bonding. On the negative side, would miss N, would miss home, whole load of hassle involved, very hard work. Any thoughts welcome!

Bought LOADS of fun instruments from Asda today - rattles and bells and all sorts... N is a one man band on the lawn. Heavenly, heavenly weather. Too nice to be at Asda . OH doing mega ride, am so .

Oooh Dog how exciting!

MissJ if you feel it would be too much to suddenly go from being with him all the time to hardly seeing him, could you do a gradual change over type thing, where OH has him for longer and longer periods over a couple/few weeks until he is used to it?

I think it really depends how much you want/need it for yourself. Its not like N is going to be left with strangers, he will have his Daddy there to care for him and its not forever either. To a certain extent they all need to get used to time away from Mum in order to build their independence and confidence and leaving them with Dad is probably the least stressful method of doing it. So if you really feel its something you need to do, you should be able to work something out to suit all of you.

Gave ds2 some of my Green and Blacks smothered bagel and now he has raised red rash around his mouth. Do you think it could be the hazelnuts? I don't think he's had many nuts before, other than on top of the odd cake or the odd bowl of muesli. I'm worrying now about me eating something containing nuts while I'm breastfeeding. I thought I only had to avoid peanuts?

tinkbig · 12/10/2009 18:30
