FT - pmsl at Alex's advanced engineering skills!

NC - the grants thing is crap - if you can't get the childcare sorted, could you perhaps look at the OU to finish off your course? I know they have lots of grants and help available.

LLL - not having internet - disaster!

WWAJC - hope your evening out was good!

Dal - hand on in there with the tiredness - it does pass, honest!

still spinning - doc has given me a referral to ENT as it's happened again so quickly after the last time - unfortunately, can't do my job if I can't stay upright!

FloriaTosca · 29/09/2009 09:12

NC; I hope DD1 is better today so you can pack her off to school again . HV just said "really?" in a disbelieving voice and "is he starting to string 2 words together yet?"...... I was interested to find that the next area health authority (4 miles away)don't do individual checks; they have a few 'parties' though the year and watch how the children inter-react which is probably a more acurate way of assessing their development

oops just realised the time... going to be late for talk first

Lisa - 5 days without internet - hope you got it sorted out.

FT - glad Alex had such a good time for his birthday. Lol at 250 words for the hv - I'd have been impressed if Anya had actually done what she was asked to do. I'd not realised they had a 2 year check - shall await that with glee .

NC - hope dd1 is better.

Crochet - hope you get your referral through quickly, must be a nightmare.

Boozy evening was lovely - Sunday was hard work . The best bit about taking Anya swimming that morning was standing under the hot shower at the end - did wonders for my hangover. Anya was very patient as she hates the shower and just stood wrapped in a towel shivering slightly.

Anya had an appointment with ENT today - a follow-up to see how her ears were - she's been on low-dose anibiotics for glue ear for 3 months and if it hadn't cleared she would have needed grommets. Luckily she was given the all clear - there's no fluid at all in her ears now - which is probably why she's started talking in the last month. They want to keep her on the antibiotics over the winter to guard her ears against viruses and they'll see her again in 4 months.

FloriaTosca · 29/09/2009 18:18

Well we went to talkfirst and darling heart wanted to play in the car rather than go in...cue serious stamping tantrum and 10 mins of screaming ..what joy looks like the terrible 2s is already living up to it title.... then SW for weigh in and the 4 two yr olds parties we have attended this week added up to a 2lb weight gain...not the most wonderful morning ever...

Anyway this avo I have managed to post a couple of new pics on my profile page of the garden and Alex in the digger if anyone is interested

Need to go and cook myself some dinner now and get back in a weight loss mind set.Laterz ladies...

x-posted WWAJC; that is FAB news about Anyas ears!

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 30/09/2009 11:18

Hi ladies, have fallen behind again

Hope you are all doing well

Keep meaning to say, inzi and les, very exciting about TTC!

Floria - The garden is looking great and Alex suits the digger

Sounds like Alex had a brilliant birthday!

WWAJC- Great news about Anyas ears!

Crochet - The spinning sounds awful, poor you. Hope it gets sorted soon.

NC - Don't worry about what you write on fb, everyone knows i'm pg now

Any luck with the funding yet?

Muppet - Sounds like Toby is doing great with his sleep, long may it continue!

Eva - at the awful woman re childminding. Better off out of it I think, sounds much too stressful!

What you studying at uni?

LLL - No internet hope it's back on soon...

Pixie - Hey, good to hear from you! How are things going?

Strawberry - Wow, sounds like potty training is going great. Wishing Dylan would show more signs of readiness as i'm not sure I fancy doing it with a small baby crawling around at the same time!

Stefka - Can imagine it's a bit of a dilema your dh wanting to study now and you wnating to ttc. It's a diffucult one isn't it, pro's and con's each way... Hope you sort something that suits both of you and the whole family. Just a thought, is the course he's wanting to do available through OU?

Well, I got my results from my downs blood test this morning. It's come back low risk, 1 in 50000, phew I would have been happy with 1 in 5000, wondering if that's a misprint on the letter?

I've been searching for the perfect pram for my expanding brood. Am liking the emmaljunga ones at the mo as you can attach a toddler seat. Am enjoying 'watching' them on ebay and there's someone selling on on mn too so hoping to get a bargain. Think we're gonnna sell our Quinny buzz as we really just use the stroller for Dylan now...

Dylan saw his dietician yesterday. It was a different lady to the one he usually sees, the usual lady is quite bolshy and irritating. Anyway, this lady was really nice. He's following his centile nicely for his height (9th centile), he was born on that centile so that's good. His weight is just above the bottom line so nearly 2 centiles below but is very slowly going in the right direction.

We discussed his high cal milk with her too (he has a mixture of 2 high cal milks and one of them seems to really fill him up). We told her that when he doesn't have the higher cal one mixed in he eats better so she said to try him like this for a further 2 weeks then call her if he's still eating better and she might change his milk to one thats in between and he might be better suited to.

I wish he didn't need all these suppliments, he has 2 sachets of high cal powder a day too but still gains weight like a snail

FloriaTosca · 30/09/2009 21:11

aaarrrggh! just wrote a long post and lost it!

Dal...fab news about the ultra low Downs risk. Hope the tiredness is passing now. good news about the lovely new dietician...I can understand your wishing it not necessary but I'm sure that before you know it it will be a thing of the past. Good luck with the pram hunting,I hope you get exactly what you want

We had an ultra early morning today (DH off to Germany yet again)as the alarm woke Alex (who had snuck into our bed) at 5.30... so I'm going to have an early night to try and catch up.... it has been a sad day today too as a close family friend (neighbour/pal of my Dads, Godfather to my brother, who I called Uncle and whose children I grew up with) passed away ....he and his next door neighbour who died last year and Dad were referred to as 'the three musketeers' or 'Foggy, Compo and Clegg' ... it is the end of an era ... so sad how things can change so completely in just 2 short years.
Hope everyone else had better days ...night all.

Love to you all
xx

strawberrylace · 01/10/2009 20:07

Happy birthday to Mairwen! Hope you've had a great day!

Just off to bath DS, and then to have one myself. The good news is that I can go back to my part time hours at work as of next week, and hopefully back to my old job. I will be so relieved if this actually does happen, as I've been so stressed the last few weeks - spend most of the day in tears and can't eat or sleep properly. Thank god for a couple of lovely friends who have kept me going at work...

Will hopefully catch up more at the weekend xx

CrochetDiva · 01/10/2009 20:38

Hi all,
thanks for the birthday wishes - we didn't even open cards until we were all home from work tonight - I've gone into work as I feel I can't give in to it - unfortunately leaves me exhausted by the evening - we've had a lovely evening with madam - she was a bit non-plussed by all the rellies phoning up to sing to her down the phone ...

FT - thinking about you for your loss

Dal - you're doing a great job with Dylan. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Right, hello to everybody else - I am going to bed now!

herjazz · 01/10/2009 20:58

happy birthday Mairwen off us as well

New name - dailymail one started to smell a bit and I was giving out waaay too much information on the one before that

there's lots of birthdays this week, aren't there? Remember the birth announcements - popping out all over they were! ds's is next weds.

We went to the screening of thomas the tank film at cinema last weekend. Tis all about the choo choos in our house. My fella is obsessed. To compensate for the dullness of the books I've started reading them in a scouse accent. I'm rather good at it now. More ringo starr than the other chap I reckon! With a bit of jackie corkhill thrown in

Dal - I think keeping mealtimes as relaxed and fun as they can be - offering different foods, letting him mess with it, not making a fuss if he doesn't eat, taking it away, offering alternatives, giving some choices where possible (Ooh would you like an apple or a banana etc) - is all you can do. V stressful I know, cos you might be trying to affect all this but the internal frustration is just awful. We had loads of mares with dd and weight/ feeding. We've talked about infatrini before haven't we? Avocados were a good fattening food for us. All our dietician used to advise was putting cream / butter etc in everything. I thought she'd end up with gout the way we were going!

herjazz · 01/10/2009 20:59

oh and hello and big wave to everyone

FloriaTosca · 02/10/2009 08:33

Hello and big wave back Herjazz.[says FT with a puzzled look ... know the writing style can't put a face to it]
...its relatively early and I've had 2 bad nights with Alex so my brain isn't functioning on any level..but for the life of me I can't think who you are..daily mail name??????? duh! I'm sure it will come to me when the coffee kicks in.

Dal; not ignoring your post but think everyone else has given better advice than I ever could...as you know we had similar probs at first but he seems to have discovered and appetite recently and his weight is up to the 25th centile now (height on the 50th)fwiw I think one day his appetite will just kick in but that doesn't help you in the mean time does it? hugs to you for the anxiety you and Dh are going through.

Anyway what did I pop in for? oh yes

Hippo Bird Day Two Ewes
Hippo Bird Day Two Ewes

Happy 2nd birthday to those I have missed....Have been sorting Karl and school out. Seems we have sorted the bullying out with one kid because Karl has started fighting back

alicet · 03/10/2009 00:00

Hello all - can't believe its been over 2 weeks since I last poasted! Have skim read but probably missed loads.

Can't believe adam is 2 today! My baby!!!! Happy birthday to all the lo's whose birthdays i have missed esp Katsch's lo (Rory if my memory serves me well?) who has shared today!

Anyway clearly it is now far too late and it is my turn to do tonight so I have to get to bed now but will do my very best not to leave it so long next time! i blame sky plus and getting addicted to far too much crap reality tv! I have been thinking of you all lots though, esp needcoffee - hope you're doing ok.

See you all soon x

alicet · 03/10/2009 00:01

Um that will be posted not poasted! not even possed!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 03/10/2009 10:41

FT - pics are sooo cute - love the one of Alex with his head in a bucket! Not surprised you put on a few pounds that week - you should be proud it was only two with all those parties. So sorry to hear about your family friend - hope you can take some small comfort that all 3 of them are back together again.

Dal - good news about the test results. Glad you saw a more sympathetic dietician too. Don't have any advice on the eating front I'm afraid - never had to deal with that problem with Anya - lots of sympathy for you though.

Crochet - happy belated birthday to Mairwen. Glad you all had a good day.

Strawberry - really good news on the job front - hope you get your old job back but at least the hours will be much better for you.

Katsh - hi, happy birthday to your ds.

LES - glad school is sorted out.

Alice - happy birthday to Adam - hope you all have a wonderful day.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a to work yesterday so didn't really do anything special. DH has promised to cook me a meal over the weekend, which I am looking forward to.
