Once again i haven't caught up properly - sorry for being so crap recently. And we are off to center parcs tomorrow for a week and then I am at a wedding next weekend.

Sorry it was a bit grim needcoffee but glad you're home and safe and make sure you take care of yourself xxx

Big hugs to the rest of you and i promise I will make more effort once I am back

NeedCoffee · 14/09/2009 23:14

Hello lovely Ladies

WWAJC-well it does say its for over 2s and believe me the last few days I've had with Shannon, I have thought about trying it on a 23month 1week child! Maybe try half a tablet on her, if I ever take one again for any reason, then I would try half on myself, also, you could maybe have a trial with her one day..when you don't need her to be alert? I think you're meant to take it the night before actually.

Dal-Glad Dylen loved swimming, thats good news. How are you? Heard anything from your parents?

Inzi-hope weather is still nice for you

Alice-hope you have a lovely week at centreparc and weekend wedding, I love weddings, seem to keep missing them this year.

FT-Hows the garden coming along?

Hi Strawberry, Mine, LLL and everyone else

Seems we're slacking again!

Well, had quite a rough weekend emotionally, probably hormones, feeling better every day though. Shannon has been really horrible for the last few days, either shes picking up on my feelings and playing on them or shes hit the terrible twos, shes exhausted me with tantrums, wont get dressed, have a nappy on, get ready for bed, have her shoes/coat on, go in her pram/highchair/bed/carseat and she is so strong, I end up hurting her trying to get her dressed cos shes wriggling and screaming so much, she literally screamed for an hour on Sat because I took her mucky socks off and tried to put clean ones on Also, I went up to check on her at 9pm and shes got undressed, took her nappy off and wet the bed

I really hope it is just a phase!

Stefka · 15/09/2009 07:08

Very quick hello before I go to work. I find it so hard to keep up it's annoying. I do often read but don't have time to respond.

Anyways need to say a big late happy birthday to Inzi - hope you had a good one.

Also NC hope you are feeling better now and are taking it easy. Shannon sounds like she has a ton of spirit! I hope she is letting you have some rest.

Dareh is starting to push some boundaries in our house. Just wondered what other people do when their LO's start to do this. I don't want to shout at him but also want to communicate to him that certain things are not ok. What are you all doing? At the moment I tend to just say no firmly which does bugger all to be honest!

He is very into his words which is brilliant. Really have to start watching what I say though as he copies everything!

Much love to all!!

LisaLessLumpy · 15/09/2009 07:26

NC - glad you are starting to feel better, its been a rough weekend but now you can start to put it behind you, big hugs x

Stefka - Hi, I'm the same read everyday but hardly seem to find time to post, although I am trying to rectify that

Alicet - Have a great time at Centre Parks.

Ben is also starting to repeat everything you say, he is a lot more forward with his speech than Sam was.

I am thankful that the terrible twos haven't hit us yet, he is getting stroppier and more vocal when you stop him doing something he wants though. I try the diversion tactit but if that doesn't work I threaten him with sitting on the cold floor by the front door. It is very rare that I have to get to 3 in the 1,2,3's

I am planning his birthday cake, can't believe he will be two soon where has the time gone? its crazy

I have also just bought him a new single bed and all the bedding etc for his 2nd birthday. Sam was two when we put him in a big bed so its only right Ben gets the same I have gone for this stuff from Next inc the bed in the picture

TheLadyEvenstar · 15/09/2009 14:48

Hi Ladies....I cannot believe it Zachary is going to be 2 on Friday...where has the time gone???

He is still not ready for the potty and tbh I am not going to rush him, it will come with time....no point in making it stressful for us both. I did my worrying and rushing with Karl. He was dry day and night by 16m old....so maybe I am lazy now.

NC - Glad you are feeling better about things and that things have eased up now.

Will be back to finish this later as urchin child sorry meant Zachary has pulled something down in hallway grrrrrrrrr

Zachary has been in his bed for a fair few months now, BUT we are planning to move him to Karls room soon. I have got bunk beds for them. It is so scary lol..especially as he is such a climber.

But I want to get my room back, jeez that sounds nasty doesn't it!

I know he will sleep in the bunk i think it is fear from me because it is higher than the bed he has but he is a fidgety sleeper...often find him upside down/diagonal/sideways across the bed. So the hope is that in a single he will be just as safe

If anyone is interested I am selling a wickedly gorgeous single bed Karls bed, less than a year old I did want £70 for it as it cost us over £200 but as I need to get rid of it I will sell it to any of you for £40 plus courier.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 16/09/2009 15:56

NC - glad you're feeling a bit better. Hope Shannon's 'phase' passes soon. Is it related to teething at all? Anya's been a nightmare the last day or so but she's complaining about her gums hurting as well and I'm sure the two are related.

Stefka - I'm trying to say 'no' firmly too but Anya just laughs and carries on. Frustrating isn't it? Not to mention tiring. Have tried '1,2,3' but she has discovered the joy of counting and she counts along with me. Sometimes if I'm telling her off she'll count '1,2,3' before I even threaten it. Makes me laugh, which doesn't help at all. Anya's not in a big bed either yet - no point as she can't climb out of a cot so no rush.

Alice - enjoy centre parcs & the wedding.

Lisa - bed looks adorable. Hard to believe they're 2 already isn't it?

Inzi - you're so organised! We've got Anya some craft stuff for her birthday - now she's at an age where she can be trusted not to be so messy! I was also thinking of a kitchen for Christmas - which one did you get?

Think I might take Anya to buy some chocolate out for a walk while the weather's nice.

muppetgirl · 16/09/2009 20:02

Hi all!!!

Sorry for the absence, I never seem to find the time to finish anything at the mo let alone start!

We're all fine and dandy, Tobias is now 10 weeks, omg that went quickly. He is fabulously happy chappy who is always smiling and now chats when you talk to him. He's in bed by 7pm has a dream feed around 10pm and sometime sleeps till 4-5-6am but this week has gone back to 3.30am {tired emoticon} I can't complain too much as he feeds and then goes straight back to sleep so it's not all bad. Having to get up at 6am regardless is the killer as I have to stagger breakfast as I can't cope with the 3 of them at the same time.

Henry is the deamon child from hell one minute and my lovable cheeky beauty the next. He likes to run away (I never thought I'd ever have 'run' and 'Henry' in the same sentence ) from me so I'm having to research reins to keep him under control. He's moved room and Dh tried to move his cot from one room to the next but ended up breaking it by splitting some of the wood so it's now unusable as a cot and Henry had to go into his toddler bed. I was dreading it but he's (so far) been okay sleeping as much as usual and not getting out of it. I am amazed as Ollie climbed everywhere and was into everything and escaping his room on a regular basis even with a stairgate across the door. He still loves Toby and still calls him 'toady but his speech is coming on really well and he can definately make himself heard and also make his feelings very well known!

I'm doing okay, I'm really happy with the 3 and I've even been heard to utter the phrase 'one more would be lovely...' so someone please smack me around the face with a wet kipper before I get drunk and have another baby Seriously we've said never say never and have given it 5 years before we close the door to that idea. I'm going to go on the new coil -the plastic one -does anyone have any experience of it? I'm hoping it'll be okay.

I'm off to read up on the last page of the thread to see what's been happening, is there anything major I've missed before that?

Love to all
xx

muppetgirl · 16/09/2009 20:43

WWAJC ? I do the 1,2,3 and Henry laughs at me also. He runs away from me which is something that Ollie never did so I?m finding that hard.

We?re decorating the boys bedrooms at the mo as they?ve moved to where they?re going to be but still have various different brothers? stuff in their rooms. Toby?s is being done this week and then he?s moving in there from the playroom -we decided to put him there as we could use the living room upstairs whilst getting him into a routine for bed that didn?t wake the other 2.

Stefka ?we?ve only moved to a big bed due to dh breaking the cot whilst moving it, wouldn?t have done it had he not. With the tantrums we are removing him from the room and then talking to him about what he?s done. We don?t do the naughty step as Ollie was sarcastic and it really didn?t work plus I know I would have to fight Henry to get him to stay on the darn step which would then divert the real reason he was there. I don?t want a power battle with him as he wouldn?t give in. If he throws stuff (he does all the time at people and invariably hits them with his good aim. Strangely proud of the aim though not of the consequence ) we tell him not to throw and if he does the item has to go into daddy?s study where it will stay for the day. It took a while but he?s starting to get that and not like it. Non shouty, matter of fact which is what I like. One thing that is working is if he is getting stressed about something we say ?show me? and he then takes us to what the problem is. This has worked well.

Floria ? re the babysitting we paid our lovely 18 year old £6 per hour as she drove Ollie about to stuff and took Henry to nursery over the summer. She was CRB checked (did it herself) and she had also done an infant first aid course (also off her own back) she was fab and we miss her ?

Inzi ? Hen naps at 12.30 for 2 hours and then is in bed at 6pm. Sleeps through till 7pm when I wake him. He has to nap then as I have to leave to get Ollie from school at 2.30. Happy belated birthday!!

Ho to everyone else Alice, Dal (how?s you lovely) NC (I know you?re going through something tough at the mo and are sending hugs though don?t know details as have been crap the past few weeks xxx) Tles, Strawberry
.

Also, just been phoned by a friend who has said I sent them 2 emails today trying to sell them electrical items which I most definitely didn?t so if you?ve got an email from me ?sorry! I?m changing my email address shortly but have changed my password so it shouldn?t happen again x

Hello
Just added Olly to the birthday list. I don't feel organised for birthdays this year at all (DH on 3 Oct and me & DS on 5 Oct means its big party time!!!) and have no idea what to get DS, or DH for that matter. We are going to Legoland the weekend after our birthdays, and i think we may stop at Bluewater on the way back to do some shopping, so I may just wait till then...

Am so tired, work a nightmare (some of it is my own doing as I'm a perfectionist stresshead, would like to have a personality transplant into a don't care hard-nose, but it's not gonna happen) need to get myself sorted out into a positive frame of mind for job hunting i think. Have to go and hoover now, so no real time to catch up with you all, but I hope you are very very well!

xxx

PS - sorry for the me me me post xxx

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 17/09/2009 20:32

Muppet - hi, lovely to hear that all the boys are getting on well. Henry sounds like he's come on so far so fast (literally!) - can't believe you're thinking about number 4 . Glad you're getting some sleep.

Strawberry - sorry you're having a rough time at work. Lots of parties are good to look forward to though!

We've got tickets to see a recording of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue tomorrow night (Radio 4 quiz for those who don't know). Really looking forward to that - Jack Dee is hosting and apparently he's very good at it. Will be a nice end to the week anyhow.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 17/09/2009 20:34

Happy birthday for tomorrow Zachary!!
