WWAJC - I'm not getting my boys done, I don't know or haven't heard of anyone anywhere near us that has been diagnosed with it and I think they are robust enough to cope even if they do get it.

Hope your night isn't too late and Anya is better tomorrow

FloriaTosca · 20/01/2010 23:02

WWAJC;I'm taking Alex for his on Friday...I was told by someone who had her children (2.6 and 9mths)and herself done last week that her arm still ached 5-6 days later and to start dosing Alex up with Calpol/babyneurofen etc about 12hrs after the vaccination. However the other participant in the conversation is a nurse with a ds the same age and she herself is pg, due on March 23rd;but like LLL she isn't getting it done.
I I was in 2 minds about it but know of 2 people (not immediate friends but friends once removed as it were)who have been dangerously ill with it (air lifted to Leicester (I think) for the blood oxygenation machine...[frightening emoticon].
It's another of those damned if you do damned if you dont decisions.

Meant to respond more but am crosseyed with exhaustion...dont know why...must be that I'm not used to this much sleep and am trying to make up for the last 2 yrs ...night, night.

muppetgirl · 21/01/2010 10:22

Hope you had a good sleep Floria xx

We're not getting the boys done (Henry's been offered) as I am convinced they had it in the holidays. Also, Ollie wasn't well after his MMR and I know that it could have been a coincidence but I just want to stay away from any unecessay jabs for him and also am thinking the same for Henry.

In no way is this a criticism of anyone elses decision, we all have to make our own minds up

Anyone got any tips as to how I can get Toby to sleep through the night consistently?? He did 6am, 5.45am then 3.39am this morning and does this as a pattern. He doesn't take a dummy and when I give him a bottle he has around 6/7ozs so is hungry. I think he's teething but am pretty tired as I go back to bed then have to be up at 6am. With Ollie we left him and he moaned himslef back to sleep. Henry didn't do this and I am worried that Toby will wake Henry up (really not wanting that Henry is a demon when woken up not of his own valition )

Any tips?

Be back later, off for a run now.

FloriaTosca · 21/01/2010 11:10

Hope you had a good run Muppet. I'm the last person to offer advice on how to get a baby to sleep through but my aunt swore that only offering water after bedtime was the cure (fine I'm sure if your bf'd baby will take a bottle but if they won't, like Alex, you are scuppered)...a friend reduced the time she fed hers each night (10 mins one night, 9 mins the next etc)...just ideas to play with if you haven't already.

Alex didn't come in until 3am last night. Didn't even ask for milk, just got in with me and went to sleep until 5.30...then I had to hold him off until 6.30 but no tears and not a bad night all in all.

muppetgirl · 21/01/2010 11:23

Great you had a good night x
I think I'll try the water and see what he does (hates it normally!) anything worth a go...

Run was good, I did 15 mins and are now officially knackered!

Toby's doing his first day at nursery today (Henry didn't even give me a second glance as he ran to the sandpit pushing everyone out of the way...) The house will be gleaming later!

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/01/2010 14:30

NC, i have only been able to get online via my mobile for quite a while now as well as a payg dongle which will not allow me to send a message on fb, i never got anything previously to the wall posting so i don;t know what happened there....you are not the only person to have messaged me and me not get them.

I sent you something very similar to what you sent me, from the same company. I didn't send recorded or anything, just in an envelope and popped it in the post box hence me saying i will send you a replacement gift.

Still not able to get onto FB for longer then 3 minutes nor can i send private messages on there..roll on the 26th Jan

NeedCoffee · 21/01/2010 15:00

LES- I have just recieved your text. Not sure why you feel the need to tell me that you have texted twice already, surely I'd know if you had I haven't blocked you from fb just deleted you.

TBH I think you're full of it, you've posted plenty on MN this week- so just don't bother, I don't have the energy to care any more.

Hi everyone else, not sure if I'm going to get Shannon vaccinated yet, still in 2 minds.

WWAJC-How's Anya been today with it? Give me a hollar if you need any help with anything-Could come and help on days when I'm at college-also, if you have a B@M near you-they had pink beds for £25 yesterday-although prob not ideal until after Anya out of a cot..
Katch-Lovely to hear from you, sorry to hear about DD. I'm glad you're getting support from the other thread, we're here too whenever you need us!
Muppet-pmsl@ she's a clean lady
FT-Sounds like Alex is getting better
Choc- for everything, sounds like you could do with them at the moment.

Hi Herjazz, Inzi, Dal, LLL and anyone else I've missed.

Not been feeling too good this week, think I may be starting with a stomach ulcer again, had it a few years ago and it feels the same, also had headache for the week and the left side of my face gonig numb-prob just stress from assignments. Hopefully will be fine by weekend!

muppetgirl · 21/01/2010 15:01

Tles, just wondering as there seems to be a bit of confusion between you and NC, you can see her messages but not reply? Sorry if I've got this wrong, I'm not great with technology! (as DH will tell you) Couldn't you have rung her?

NeedCoffee · 21/01/2010 15:03

HA-I mean days when I'm not at college, although days when I am could be good too

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/01/2010 15:13

Muppet, I cannot reply to any messages unless i wait until after midnighton fb. I posted on here last week i think it was, replying to NC and saying i had a replacement gift here which i have, i have now spent money twice as i did not want to leave her without one. I do not know where the original went all i did was post it out.

My internet has been off for a few weeks now, i explained before there was a bt cable stolen (as told to me by a bt engineer) and thats why i am on a payg dongle which has rubbish reception/signal. I cannot even get onto msn as it constantly disconnects.

If i get onto FB as soon as i try to send a message it disconnects...thats why i said roll on the 26th when i get my internet back!

I could have called but i didn;t , not for any reason other than over the xmas period i was busy visiting family and friends, i also did reply on fb to NC but then she said she never got it, just like i sent 2 texts prior to the one today she said she never got... I know i sent them but i cannot be held responsible for them not being delivered.

The easiest thing to do is return the gift from NC if anyone can let me send it to them then they can pass it back to her as i hate the idea of her not getting what i sent...especially when i know the exact value of the said gift, as what i bought was from the exact same company.

FloriaTosca · 21/01/2010 15:44

NC; I sincerely hope it isn't an ulcer, though with all the stress of college etc I suppose it would be no surprise. I seem to remember reading an article saying that cranberry juice is good for them, I think I hope you feel better soon.

Muppet the sparkly clean house ..if you are ever bored? [hopeful emoticon]

Just got back from Alexs' swimming lesson
...he demolished the best part of a packet of fig rolls and 2 slices of tealoaf on the way home!...I don't know about him, but I'm exhausted!

OP posts:
strawberrylace · 21/01/2010 16:15

hello everyone
i should really be tidying the house - it is a tip! it's wierd having a thursday off work this week, as i worked on monday - keep thinking today's friday...

no tips on sleeping through - ds still comes into our bed around 3am on many nights, at least he goes straight back to sleep after he's wandered through. i also can't remember anything about what ds did when he was little - is that bad? his sleeping/feeding habits, what happened when he was teething - can't remember any of it.

we are getting his swine flu jab done on saturday.

hope you are all ok - i have my third cold in a month grrrrr

NeedCoffee · 21/01/2010 17:57

FT- It doesn't seem to have got any worse over the past few days whilst I've been taking rantididine so hopefully if it is the start of an ulcer it will prevent it from getting worse. Must be a day for los pigging out, Shannon has been stuffing her face all day.

Strawberry-Hope you get rid of your cold very soon, mayme a cue for some Vitamin C intake :-)

LES-It seems you are not responsible for a lot of things that do not get recieved, texts, emails, gifts
Thanks for the offer to transfer 97p to me, the price you paid for the gift that you apparantly sent, but don't bother
I will also not be transferring any funds for you to send the gift I sent back by recorded delivery as I will still have no guarantee that I shall get it, just that you will have some of my money.

My best advice to you-Change the post office that you send items from as a hell of a lot of them seem to go missing .

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/01/2010 18:32

NC, i don't know what you THINK you will achieve from making immature comments. But tbh, i am not getting worked up over this situation because it is not worth it. I have already explained i sent your gift, i also offered to send a replacement you do not want one, you were fine to reply to text messages earlier today but then see fit to post on here again....16.13 you replied via text, 15.52 you replied 15.44 you replied, then at 17.57 you decided not to reply to my mobile but on here?????

I said if you want the gift returned via recorded delivery, you have said you would prefer me to return what you got me and then we can forget it, then you can pay for it to be returned recorded delivery.

I am not so desperate for money that i would want yours what an extremely immature thing to say or suggest.

I am failing to see how THREE items in over 2 yrs is a lot to go missing but each to their own.

As for text messages/emails do you know a way of ensuring every single one gets recieved?? because if you do you will make a fortune as many people the world over send these and not all get delivered...whats the solution? maybe you could share it with the world?

I am not getting into a petty argument, i have offered to send you a replacement gift, you don't want one, i asked for your address via text message, having deleted old emails which contained yours and you, instead of replying with your address, put your latest message on here. Why if you so desperatly want this returned will you not let me have your address??? surely that would make sense.

muppetgirl · 21/01/2010 18:39

Keeping it short, I have one of those 'nose' headaches that I get. My head doesn't hurt but my nose does and this gives my eyes a dull ache. All boys in bed in various different satges of getting to sleep though Henry has been told in no uncertain terms to stay in his room!!!!! Definately going to have to get a stairgate at the weekend.

Tles - seems like a series of unfortunate events. I guess they happen to some people more than others...

NC - am really hoping it's not an ulcer, take care of yourself xx

NeedCoffee · 21/01/2010 18:45

LES-I did reply to your 17.23 message by text, its not my responsibility if you did not recieve it

Who said THREE items had gone missing? I didn't.

Like I said I don't have the energy to care anymore, no point in sending you my address as
A) I am not prepared to send you anything to pay for recorded delivery and
B) If you send it normally then who's to say it wont just go missing anyway.

Oh and why on earth would you send the same gift to me when I don't live within 2.5 hours of a venue? I ensured that you lived within a 10 mile radius before I sent you yours.

muppetgirl · 21/01/2010 18:46

It is interesting to note that I used to sell things I'd made on ebay -padded hearts, cushions and I made duvet covers and took custom made orders for fitted cot sheets etc etc. Out of just under 500 trasactions I didn't have 1 go missing in the post. I never had any one say they hadn't recieved what I'd sent. I did send some late, but the buyer always got it. In fact, come to think of it, I have never had anything go missing in the post from friends or family or anything I've bought over the internet.

I am amzed at the ammount of things other people seem to loose in the post.

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/01/2010 18:52

NC I said a similar gift...and i did check you could get to a venue.

Muppet, i had 3 items go missing 2 were refunded this was 18m ago and i offered to send nc another gift she doesn't want it. i can do no more than offer, i delete old emails periodically and therefore do not have her address i have asked for it she won't send it. what am i meant to do put the gift in an envelope and send it to NC and hope it gets to her fgs.

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/01/2010 18:54

And muppet, i didnt lose anything i posted it and then it is up to rm to deliver, if i had know this was going to cause so much trouble i would have hand delivered it

muppetgirl · 21/01/2010 19:02

I understand it's up to Royal Mail I was just giving my experience which, considering I was using Royal Mail a lot has some relevence.

muppetgirl · 21/01/2010 19:05

Anyway, shall we call time on this bunfight as I think it could be embarrassing the other ladies.

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/01/2010 19:09

maybe it be best if i just hide this thread a steer clear, there was no need for NC to bring it onto here or on facebook, she has my email and mobile number, she never called or sent a direct email. i know where i am not wanted well done NC...

was nice knowing you all

NC
I have not been ignoring you!!
I have a payg donlge atm and it keeps cutting out, i replied and said i will post you something else, if the original does not turn up. which it hasn't and so i will post you something else. I am a bit upset that you felt you could not message me personally, but either way what is done is done. I sent you a similar SS gift as you sent me, but as it has not arrived i will buy something else and send it to you.

I have been having difficulty getting and staying online since a BT main server cable was actually cut and stolen 2 weeks ago, i thought it had been cut, but found out from bt engineer who was in my home today that it had also been stolen for the copper!!!

LES-you where the first to bring it up on here.
I posted on your FB wall as you ignored all the messages (text and FB) that I sent. Not sure why you expect me to chase it up though, I would be mortified if I'd sent a gift and did not know whether it had been recieved or not.
I never mentioned anything that went missing 18 months ago, not sure why you feel the need to mention it

Nice flouncing

NeedCoffee · 21/01/2010 19:57

Muppet-Sorry I didn't see your earlier post, hope your headache clears up soon, it can't make it any better having T up in the night, can DH do the night shift?

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/01/2010 20:03

do you know maybe there are other things going on in my life that i put first. i have offered to send another gift you said no, atm i do not have the time patience or inclination to fight and argue.

there are much more important things in my life right now.
