Ah sorry dal, was on phone, when I try to text after a while it'll go blank the say insert Sim, so I have to turn it off and on again and sometimes it'll work, other times I have to do it again. I think its prob a software problem of some kind but its now out of warranty so they wont even look at it.

Dalrymps · 07/10/2009 21:01

What make and model is it?

Might not be able to help but will ask dh in a min anyway as he remembers more than me...

strawberrylace · 07/10/2009 21:05

NeedCoffee · 08/10/2009 14:16

CrochetDiva · 08/10/2009 17:01

Hello all, Well Rhydian has come down with this horrible flu - luckily J and M haven't - although how M has avoided it, I don't know - I'm putting it down to the magic boobie juice!

FT - I'm so sorry to hear about your horrendously emotional time - just know that we're thinking of you {{{{hug}}}}

Happy Birthday to Stefka and Anya (and to everybody else I've missed ... am crap, I know!

I've got a Sony Ericsson somethig or other - I love it - it's my 2nd sony ericsson - my last one was stoledn whe we were burgled! My contract is with T mobile, and they've been pretty good. Would also 2nd the advice to go to the shop / website for the network you want - the only dealings I've had with Carphone Warehouse and phones4u have really put me off!

Welcome to our happy little band skinsl - I have 2 children, Rhydian, who was 7 on 4th October, and Mairwen, who was 2 on 1st October. I tend to be absent quite a lot - depends whether I can get access to the thread at work, and whether any of us have been cussing! Am off work at the moment with the dreaded lergy, feeling royally cr@ppy, and have to go to the doc tomorrow as there's no way on tis earth that I'll be able to go back before I need a sick note - when I'm at work, I'm a teacher in a comp in Cardiff, which is near where I live.

Right, off to do some more crochet - I'm making the http://www.interweavecrochet.com/issue/materials_win07.asp#omdahl infinity wrap for myself at the moment - J bought me the yarn as a (very) late birthday present - I'm making it in shades of purple. It's quite simple, but very effective.

CrochetDiva · 08/10/2009 17:03

at typos, and here's the link again for my current make :

infinity wrap

Dalrymps · 08/10/2009 21:33

NC - Dh not sure about phone but is gonna look into it for you... He says it might not be fixable but he'll see.

For now..Have you cleaned the gold contacts on the sim with a rubber? I was always the first basic thing we'd suggest for that error. Also delete any texts you don't need and only have the absolute minimum on it.

Insert sim can be a network problem and it can be to do with the signal. It can also mean there's a problem with the phone reading the sim. Also check the sim is firmly in place and it if has a catch to hold it in place it's clicked in to place. I know these are all obvious things but sometimes they work...

Crochet - Hope you feel better soon. That wrap looks lovely

FloriaTosca · 09/10/2009 08:39

Crochet; I'm sorry you are still so ill and poor Rhydian has it too! I hope he recovers quickly. Thank heavens your antibodies appear to be protecting Mairwen.(that is my best justification for continuing to bf Alex despite Dhs' concerns that I'll still be bfing at the school gates)OOOhhh I love that wrap!!!
Dal; Dh is facinated by your specialist knowledge of how to fix mobiles...we may be picking your brains in the future

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 09/10/2009 09:46

Hey Floria, yeah it does come in usefull now and again. Trouble is i've been pg since then so pg brain has erased a lot of it, luckily dh hasn't lol

How are you today?

Dylan ate a whole half a slice of toast this morning with lemon curd, he's never eaten that much before

NeedCoffee · 09/10/2009 18:11

Dal-Thank you, will do all that. Went and tried again to get a decent deal but they're all so arrogant I refuse to go with them, so guess I'll be going online.

Brill news about Dylans' eating, I bet all the intervetion has messed him up, hopefully He'll continue to eat till you're having to hide food from him! Well not, but ykwim.

Had a long day at college today, so waiting for pizza and hopefully chilling tonight, sick of thinking about academic stuff this week!

Crochet-you all feeling any better?

FloriaTosca · 11/10/2009 07:34

I posted yesterday but it seems to have dissappeared

I wasn't saying much...just bragging about my new carpet and the fact that the vax saw it and committed suicide so I have a new Dyson too..my cup runneth over

Off to see WWAJC for Anyas bday party today then to my Mums for dinner...a welcome and pleasant change from the usual frantic DIY Sundays... Hope everyone else has an equally lovely day planned

Dylan's eating still going well, nibbled away at every meal yesterday

He surprised me this morning by eating a whole half slice of toast with nutella then about 20 mins later requesting a cereal bar and eating 2/3 of that!

I've got some sort of lurgy which is mostly making me feel exhausted. I ahve a snotty nose and sore throat too

Off to rest for a while anyway, hope you're all having lovely weekends

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 11/10/2009 16:41

Skinsl - welcome! I have one dd, Anya - turned 2 last Wednesday. She's not really the tantrum type - just calmly refuses to take any notice of you. She's a proper little flirt now and loves dressing up and posing in the mirror - she poses for the camera now as well instead of coming to investigate it.

NC - supermarket shopping is a nightmare with them isn't it? Anya hates sitting in the trolleys - she wants to walk round - which is fine if I only need a few things and I can make it fun, but impossible if I need a big shop.

Crochet - poor Rhydian with the flu - fingers crossed nobody else gets it. Hope you all better soon. Wrap does look lovely.

Dal - well done Dylan eating his toast etc.

This is the first chance I've had to post since Anya's birthday - it's been a busy week! Anya loved her kitchen - she's been absorbed in it all week, definitely a good buy. The trip to the airport was a bit of a non-event - dh and I had both thought there was a viewing lounge or something like that where we'd be able to see the planes taxi round and take-off, but there isn't anything like that anymore because of security. The only place to see planes is from the rental car-park on the airport roof and there's another building between that and the runways so they are quite far away. (Couldn't believe how many plane spotters were up there , plus a large group of school children). Anya enjoyed herself wandering though so that was the main thing. Then we went for lunch, complete with presents/cake, then back home (4pm by now) for a sleep and then my parents round for tea (more presents/cake).

She's had presents most days since as we've spread ours out a bit - plus she got some in the post that we gave to her a day or so late. Then this morning she had her party with 5 friends (all under 5) - including FT's Alex. I was amazed at how smoothly it all went! All the lo's were happy playing/sharing - even Anya, once she had got over the initial shock of somebody else using her kitchen. Anya should be shattered now but she's still up and raiding the fridge - maybe she's picked today to drop her daily nap?

FloriaTosca · 12/10/2009 09:19

Morning All!!!
Dal; I hope the good appetite continues ...it must be a relief really encouraging to see.

Crochet; I hope you and Rhydian are both on the mend

WWAJC; I hope Anya didnt get too cranky later after all the excitement and nap resisting so long.lol at her raiding the fridge for cocktail sausages

We had a ... er ..less than the planned restful day yesterday. One of the other trainers at dog club was sick and the other got a phone call at 8am to say his motor boat in Wales had been vandalised overnight and was partially sunk so he dissappeared to salvage what he could and so despite my having 'booked' the day off there was only me to go and take the classes ...problem being club was at the same time as Anyas party... I would have sent Dh to stand on the field and tell everyone it was cancelled but he had to attend a church service for his aunt (the one who died on Tuesday; she was a lay preacher )..so I drove 25miles down to Mums, left Alex with her, went to the club field and got the classes started, left the advanced members in charge, went back to change at Mums, picked up Alex, got to Anyas' lovely party an hour late (Alex was most impressed by her gorgeous red kitchen and all the wonderful accessories and insisted on sitting on Anyas booster seat to eat his lovely buffet food)we then went home to find Dh had cleared out my music room cupboards, added much needed ventillation and extra plug sockets, and needed help sorting/transferring all the stuff from the hall cupboards into the empty space created...all in preparation for demolishing the hall cupboards to he can get started with remodelling the hall!!!!!!...I thought we were going to have a break from DIY but he said that we only have 6 wks to December and he wants to have it done by then so we can concentrate on Christmas and New year....[too exhausted to even think about it yet emoticon].... anyone got any spare vallium handy to slow my Dh down a bit?

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 12/10/2009 12:04

Hey Floria,

Sorry your day wasn't as restful as hoped yesterday...

Your dh is really going for it with the diy, my dh has times like that where I just can't slow him down!

I'm having a bit of a panick as I knew we had the speech and language therapist coming to see how Dylan is getting on sometime in october. I'd temporarily misplaced the letter saying when the appointment is.

I found it this morning and the appointment is TODAY , thank god we had a tidy round yesterday.

I feel all stressed about it as last time an slt came she totally underestimated Dylan and teh 'feedback' letter that I received a copy of made him out to be verging opn special needs . They were thinking of referering him to some 'portage scheme' for children with 'significant special needs' to help with his play skills and speech depending on his assesment when they see him this time .

I'm sick of them asessing him, I only ever asked for help with his feeding and now they're asessing how he plays and talks. It's almost a joke as he's so good at talking and I have never had any concerns about him playing.

I feel like i'm having a mild anxiety attack. I just don't want it to all get out of hand again like it has been doing

She'll be here in a hour.

Dalrymps · 12/10/2009 14:02

Ok, ignore my last post, SLT lady has been and it went fine

She was really pleased with Dylan and said he's getting on great and doing really well with his speech etc

She said she doesn't really need to see him again but will do one last check up in 6 months just to see how he's getting on.

Hey inzi, Glad you like my fb comments lol

Re the phone, hard to say really, it might just have a loose connection from being dropped? Is it on contract? If so, the only thing i can advise is him calling and saying it's started having a blank screen but not to mention it's been dropped . They may then replace it for being faulty. If he said he dropped it they probably won't replace it without insurance and even then might not cover him...

[envy At your holiday, wish I was going away!

Sorry your papa has been up and don with his health, hope he's comfortable and as 'ok' as can be.
At the stupid driver being dangerous and trying to run your dh off the road, thats terrible! I hate bad drivers and hate ones that think they own the road even more. It'd take it all the way, don't let em get away with it!

Sounds like you've got the right approach to Janes potty training, just relaxed and taking it slow, no rush anyway, you'll get there eventually

Well, i'm feeling sorry for myself cause i'm still snotty and have a vert tickly cough now

Dh has been lovely and brought the duvet down for me and made me tea with honey in and given me a hot water bottle

Hi to everyone else hope you're all doing ok! x

NeedCoffee · 13/10/2009 22:30

Just poking my head in to say Hellooooooooo
Dal-glad all went well with speech woman, hows the little monkey eating still? Hope you get better soon.

Inzi-sorry to hear about your Grandad, every day with him's a blessing. ASIF you allowed rl to stop you coming on!! tut tut

FT-WOW at your DHs motivation, it took me lots of bribing just to get Rich to paint for an hour in my bathroom, and I'd done all the prep work. Can understand you feeling a bit unsettled though.

WWAJC-Glad the party went well, LOL at Anya being a flirt, bless her.

Hi everyone else, I'm tired- from life and college, haven't got a clue what I'm doing with the FD and wish I'd never started, but am going to stick it out till christmas, see how I feel then. Shannon is refusing to go in a pram still but wont walk in a straight line 3 times this week I've had to pick her up under my arm and run with loads of bags for the bus grrr.

anyway, off to bed x

Dalrymps · 13/10/2009 22:36

Hey NC, sorry you've been tired and are still having probs with the FD.

Hope Shannon becomes a bit more cooperative soon so you don't have to run for the bus as much!

Dylans eating is still going well, there is a definate change in his appetite and it seems to be continuing so far

Only problem is he seems to be getting constipated. He was the same on the milk and powder a bit too, was doing hard poo's and one was blood streaked. Since i've taken him off the high cal milk he's done 2 more difficult poo's with a tiny bit of blood in . I've started adding prune juice to his water and will offer him more fruit. Has anyone else had this? Any advice?

NeedCoffee · 13/10/2009 22:59

Hi Dal, great news that he's eating and all that worry has paid off, well, you;'ll always worry by ykwim.
Shannon has weetabix every single morning and if shes a bit constipated I put raisens it it, Rich thinks I'm anal about insisting she always have her weetabix but she gets tummy ache if she has something instead, also fressh orange juice a bit watered down is good, He'll be ok once He gets used to eating more

NeedCoffee · 13/10/2009 22:59

god crap spelling and grammer, really off to bed now

Dalrymps · 13/10/2009 23:04

Thanks NC, i'm just worrying i'm doing him harm when i'm trying to do good . Will up the fruit and see how it goes...
