I meant pre-school facilities are better in France, no matter what language

llareggub · 28/08/2009 12:48

my best friend is having twins! She was due to have fertility treatment but got pg before the appointment. Guess she won't need it now...

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 28/08/2009 12:59

Belgian Thank you, I know! I feel better just for voicing my doubts. I know we'll be fine. Just last-minute panicking on my part.

llare about your friend but how fabulous for her

Febes · 28/08/2009 13:03

Tired....tired....

We have had 2 long days out and about with no chance of daytime naps for DD. Last night although I was dog tired I stupidly stayed up to watch big brother and it took me until 10pm to get DS to sleep anyway. DD woke crying at 2am and didn't go back to sleep until 4ish after calpol, cuddles etc. DS also had 2 feeds so I had a rubbish night and am very jadded today. I should be asleep now but can't sleep in the day and DS has just woken from his 30min nap . I'm not sure about growth spurts at 3 month, 4 months etc DS seems to be constantly on a growth spurt. It isn't helped by the fact that DH hasn't had a day off in I can't remember how long so he is also tired and we have started snipping at eachother. Anyway our holiday is in 3 weeks today so thats not long to wait.

Looby your poor friend. Puts all my moans into perspective.

Grumpy You are brave to make the move and follow your dream. I'm sure you and your DDs will love it and DH will be making plans to join you full time.

Hi everyone else. My head is too fuzzy to remember what I wanted to say to you but I'm loving reading your updates.

I hope there are others out there who aren't doing anything this bankholiday weekend like me so we can chat all weekend. DH is working all weekend and I'm lying low saving money.

Febes · 28/08/2009 13:06

llaregg great news for your friend. My sister is now 24 weeks with her twin boys and they have asked me and DH to be godparents . She is already the size she was at full term with her ds .

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 28/08/2009 13:08

Ladies

We'll need a new thread soon.

llareggub · 28/08/2009 13:16

Febes, I'm around all weekend too, but we're working on Sunday. We're going to a wedding fair trying to flog promote our range of beautiful wedding stationery to brides. We are different to most companies in that we don't automatically add on £100s to the price just because it has "wedding" in the range. We have our fingers crossed as it our first wedding fair.

Grumpy only natural to have some fears, but remember that we only regret what we haven't done, not what we have done. Or something like that anyway...

llareggub · 28/08/2009 13:18

How about a French subject in honour of our very own Grumpy and her new life en France?

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 28/08/2009 13:29

I think a title about new ventures, seeing as you're embarking on a new venture too Llare, and Belgian with her move. Not forgetting DC's starting school.....

runningmonkey · 28/08/2009 13:31

Given the new adventures and because lots of lo's seem to have done it in the last couple of weeks, how about 'rolling into ventures and pastures new'?

llare great news about your friend too.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 28/08/2009 13:32

Right. Off shopping. Laters babes (as DD2 has been known to say )

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 28/08/2009 13:33

Running

Yes I like that one! But one little change?

'rolling into ventures and (cow-print) pastures new'?

Hi folks. Quick post as I've got loads to do. R is being Baptised tomorrow, and I still haven't finished the cake. Thanks for the tips by the way Fikelly I'm sure it won't look anything like as good as your's but at least I'll have tried.

Had a spray tan today, and because I'm bf she said to leave my bra on. I didn't really want my bra to get soiled, so now I'm sporting Lilypadz patches over my nipples. For those of you who haven't seen them, I have flower shaped white patches.

Hope everybody is well. Not managed to read anything today.

Momino · 28/08/2009 20:02

hi all. good day, everyone?

febes, what a night! I hope you get sleep tonight.

llare, good luck with the stationery.

Jenn, all best wishes for R's baptism.

grumpy, if you feel stressed, go back and read Belgian's post, well said.

thread title, not creative lately so will leave to you if ok.

just putting Harper down and she's not having any of it. she has the most disappointed cry when I put her down for a sleep. having a takeaway and some sort of a drink. also need to ice dd2s birthday cake. She's 2 tomorrow . how time flies...

LoobyLou36 · 28/08/2009 20:16

evening all

llare congrats to your friend - twins! wow!

I have an announcement!
we have decided to call our camper "Daizy" mainly due to the amount of cow print that it will contain
must find some vinyl daisies to decorate it with
We drove it to PiL today when we went for dinner to show them, passed another T25 on the way - our first experience at waving at complete strangers

thanks for all your sympathies re: woman who lost her DH. I don't really know her v.well we just natter about babies - just makes you realise how lucky we are

LoobyLou36 · 28/08/2009 20:19

jennster lillypad nipples, lol - a new trend perhaps?!

sausagenmash · 28/08/2009 20:31

Grumpy how is the boob? And whatwhatwhat??!!! Have I missed something here? You're moving to France? Whatwherehow?!

M got weighed and measured today - she dipped down a centile a few weeks ago but has slurped quite merrily over the last few weeks so is now back up. Wooo!

FiKelly - my parents live near J17 off the M4 - I'd be happy to do a meet up sometime when I'm down there if you like?

However, talking of which, I'm a bit at my Mum at the mo. She came over last week to look after M for me whilst I had stuff to do. She took her out in my car (insured - and I couldn't be arsed to sort out the carseat into hers) to visit her friend for a few hours. All well and good. UNTIL: in the post yesterday, there was only a bloody prosecution notice - she was speeding and the camera took the pic!!! Twas only 40 in a 30, but hm. AND THEN to top it off - in today's post, there was ANOTHER one - she got caught speeding in EXACTLY the same spot but on the way back! So that's a £120 fine for her and 6 points off her licence. Dad said that maybe I should 'take' one of her fines, as its only in my interest for Mum to keep her licence (she now has 9 points on it!) - I told him to take a running jump!! ARGH!! Anyway, its all ok now, but ARGH!

And DPs!!!! The other day I was upstairs and dp was downstairs with M. He started screaming, "Saus, saus, quick, quick, I need help!!" I dropped EVERYTHING thinking she was having a fit or something, charged down the stairs, got to him in the dining room... she had only done a splattery poo and it was dribbling down his legs. Honestly!!!!!!

Ooooh pizza .... and wine!!!!

Happy late birthday, llare

LoobyLou36 · 28/08/2009 20:49

saus lol at DP and spattery poo not so good about the speeding fines tho

muddleddaizy · 28/08/2009 21:05

Hi there,

Just popping in quickly whilst dh is trying to make cider in the kitchen It's very noisy! Ds2 is playing on the floor as he's refusing to go the sleep at the moment.

Loobey re your camper called Daizy - what you trying to say

Sausage What a nightmare re the speeding fines! Lol at the splattery poo. Ds1 used to get dh all the time. My niece got my brother in the eye a couple of weeks ago I'm not too far away from your parents either...

Jen hope goes well tom.

Well dh decided yesterday that we were going to Greenbelt tomorrow - today he's changed his mind so I can see us doing nothing this weekend. Right I'm going to see if I can get into the kitchen to get a drink!

muddleddaizy · 28/08/2009 21:10

oo - meant to say Grumpy all the best with the move. We stayed in Limoges a few years ago - it was a long old drive! I'm sure everything will work out for you. Look forward to hearing how things work out.

LoobyLou36 · 28/08/2009 21:15

sorry muddle only just noticed how I'd spelt daizy

homemade cider eh? let us know how he gets on with that. My DH is into making wine - we have 12 bottles of rose petal on the go and approx 60 bottles of blackberry

sausagenmash · 28/08/2009 21:17

Thanks Looby and Muddled - the V BAD thing is that Mum had 3 points on her licence last year for speeding (again) - this time she had my nephews in the car. She has terribly bad guilts now. She went out in their crappity old car which chugs earlier to go into town and crept around at 10mph. She was also done in 2001 and 2004 but they have gone now. I got stopped in the exact same place where she did in 2001, but for some bonkers reason the police let me off. So - clean licence me!!

Re wedding plans. FFS - how expensive are things getting?!!!

Muddled - nice drink? My vino collapso is going down a treat Dp is on next feed duty, although he doesn't know it yet. Hahahaaa

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 28/08/2009 21:39

Hi saus Yes I am moving to France on Sunday . Pretending to be ill atm to avoid packing

Your mum . I somehow got off last year when I was caught doing 98 mph . No kids in car but still.........

I laughed rather immoderately at your DP and the poo. They are silly boys sometimes aren't they? DH is on next feed duty too (bottle of EBM in fridge), so am necking Bud like it's going out of fashion

The boob's all better thanks to amazing vaccuuming baby
