I'm also of the meet ups one day i might manage a meet.. dh & I have often talked about moving back to scotland.. or emigrating to NZ!!!

off to exeter tomorrow to see a pal who moved a while back.. it's her little girls 3rd birthday party. not been before so hoping to not get lost! no sat nav so have googled directions and sent them to my phone.

euro glad your tooth is getting better

looby hope M feels better soon and love the van photo too!

grumpy lol.. at your wittering.. please don't ever stop! you always make me smile and i'm another that prattles on in RL (it's only my slow phone typing that stops me doing it on here too!!)

FiKelly · 26/08/2009 22:56

just seen your post.. hope lump goes soon.

flippineck · 26/08/2009 23:01

Evening all! Just a quickie again, had quite a large glass of red and can't quite read properly...

euro - glad your tooth (or lack of tooth) is much better, fingers crossed for a full a speedy recovery.

looby - exciting about the campervan. Hope M is better soon.

grumpy - nice to have you back. What pp said about the blocked duct. Hope it's resolved soon.

ses - hope you don;t carry on beating yourself about the incident, things like that happen. When DD1 was about 3 weeks old I managed to bash her head on the corner of the coffee table. She was fine, not even a cry, but I felt terrible for weeks and obviously still think about it nearly 3 years later. Another one of those things to add to the mum-guilt list.

Re men (DHs/DPs in particular) - pah! We went to Ikea today. I wanted to look at stuff but wasn't allowed...we had a list and that was it. Grrrr.

Another at all the meeting up.

fi and daizy - sympathy to you both for the poo/vomit. I think I'm used to smelling of sick all the time, A is always sick and I think I can't actually smell it any more. So apologies if any of you do meet me in real life, I probably stink!

Re feet - A found hers last week, it's really quite funny and very sweet. She always looks really shocked when she finds one. She's been chewing her hands for weeks though, I think she might be a thumb/finger sucker for a long time. A also rolled over a couple of times last week, from her front to her back, but hasn't done it since Saturday I think.

flippineck · 26/08/2009 23:02

I said that it would be a quickie. Quite obviously wasn't.

Momino · 26/08/2009 23:06

evening all. muddled, hope your day got better.
looby, hope M is feeling better.

at the veg stories, hehe.

euro, hope your tooth feels better soon and glad you don't have to do drugs. btw we had pizza tonight as well - were too lazy to cook anything so ordered domino's.

ses, can't leave O for a moment then eh? Harper rocks on her back a bit but doesn't roll. my older 2 were late rollers as well so hopefully I won't have to worry too much about mobility yet. glad you enjoyed the baby cinema. i'd read the book and bawled at the end, must see the film.

grumpy, grumpy , you're too kind with your compliments. my glamorous is running a brush through my hair, pulling on jeans that are a few days past their wash-by date. well, i did put fresh nail varnish on my toes (isn't that glam ). was so glad to have met you before your move and will be watching your posts here and on FB to follow your adventures. Sophia is so gorgeous and cuddly. all, Grumpy is most lovely, fun and interesting and I really hope to see you and your girls the next time you're visiting York.

all whom i haven't name-checked, hope you're well.

I'll be hoping to get a better sleep tonight than last ('twas horrible with baby waking 2x and dd1 upset at Harper crying).

cross posted with loads of you! was in the middle of a skype conversation with my bro in Ohio. lovely thing, skype.

grumpy, hope the lump goes down after a bit of massage. because it's painful, sounds like a blocked duct.

flippin, a large glass of red wine sounds lovely. is it too late for me to fill a glass? ah, yes it is. I'll never sleep at this rate .

flippineck · 26/08/2009 23:12

Grumpy - just remembered! Hot flannels! Hold a hot flannel on your boob before a feed, helps soften the boob/lump area so helps clear it.

Momino · 26/08/2009 23:17

Dandy, grumpy gallantly didn't tell you about the poo on my bed/trousers/tshirt story which happened this morning. and, since H sicks up a lot, I've become very quick with the wet wipes/flannels. I've also found it best to avoid black tops....

btw, Harper most likely has CP, I found a few more spots this evening. she's in good spirits, though. Grumpy, do let me know if S gets it (though I'll feel most responsible!).

FiKelly · 26/08/2009 23:18

dandy we've been talking about NZ for about 4 years now.. the only thing stopping us is my mum and dads health as i'm an only child.. I feel quite guilty about wanting to go.

Momino · 26/08/2009 23:19

oh, must add that we talked about how wonderful everyone on this thread is and the valuable support May 09 babies thread has been for us .

Momino · 26/08/2009 23:22

Fi, that's tough. I was saying to grumpy today how I feel guilty to have left the US when my mom is upper 70s and to be so far away. I do have a sister who lives across the street from her so it's not the same as for you.

OP posts:
flippineck · 26/08/2009 23:24

momino - +1 to that, said in a slightly slurred, squiffy kind of way. Must go to bed before I start gushing about loving you all.

Momino · 26/08/2009 23:25

I'm going to bed as well. Was making up for not posting all day (very unlike me). but I'm falling asleep on the keyboard and Harper may be waking up within a couple of hours.

night all.x

dream feed done.. should go to bed.. so not tired though.

*momino hope h's cp turns out not too bad.. if it is.

flippineck · 26/08/2009 23:30

drat, cross-post. Meant of course to echo the sentiments in Momino's 23:19 post. Although completely understant about being a long way from family and the guilt that goes with it too - my parents are 6 hours away and I cried last week when we left there because I know it'll be months before we see them again. Probably Christmas. My mum has a lot on her plate and I wish I could help but I can't.

well dream feed was successful but now i've got in bed.. crept in.. g has woken up put the mobile lights on without music and waiting to see if she'll go back to sleep. on phone in dark.. with beamed stars etc twirling overhead listening to her thrashing around and gaga ing more boobs may be required.

somehow i don't feel so guilty at the idea of moving back to scotland.. would be an 8hr min trip if we go to west coast near dh's mum in helensburgh. my mum is 68 this year.. dad 76 & dh's mum 77. at least dh has a brother in glasgow not too far from their mum.

FiKelly · 26/08/2009 23:57

dad is still in hospital dandy they're keeping him in until his care/help/equipment package is in place at home. might be in for another week yet..

i don't know what's worse.. having parents that don't keep well and rely on you or ones that are self absorbed . The latter would make our move plans easier..

FiKelly · 27/08/2009 00:01

yay! stars just might have done the job.. no more boobs required.

night all.. must get to sleep before dh starts snoring again xoxox

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 27/08/2009 00:29

Still catching up, boob now a boobzillasaurus and painful. Off to bed, night everyone, I promise to be annoyingly chatty tomorrow!

Momino · 27/08/2009 06:39

morning. Harper slept till 5.15, hurrah!also allowed me to take an early shower before dh left for work and other dd's asleep. so now, sitting in bed with coffee, laptop, giving 2nd half of feed, Harper in good spirits, no new crop of spots apparent.

grumpy, really hope your boob has calmed down today

dandy, rant away... with parents like that I'd be too.

flippin, 6 hours is far away and i understand how you feel too. i cry everytime i think of my mum and wonder when i'll see her.

anyway, on to brighter things. am off to get dressed and top up coffee. hope everyone is rested. must admit i could use another couple of hours.

OP posts:
muddleddaizy · 27/08/2009 07:37

Momino hope H gets a mild dose of cp.

Grumpy hope things are less painful this morning

Dandy and Fi sounds exciting plans. I have a friend who is an only child and only has her mum. She married an aussie and they went to live in Australia for a year, that was last year and she hasn't come back yet!!

I'm also very at these meetups. Fi we'll have to organise something soon.

Well I am hoping that today will be better than yesterday...

FiKelly · 27/08/2009 07:40

morning! g slept very well after she settled again last night and might have slept a bit longer I think if ds hadn't woken her up bouncing into our room.. we have to all be fed washed and dressed by 9 so no bad thing i suppose or it'd be a bit of a rush. good practice for when ds goes back to pre school.. but am's this time.

FiKelly · 27/08/2009 07:44

x posts muddled. yes love to meet up but not having much beach weather are we?!
