Hi Oonagh,

I'm cheekily posting so that I can find you... hopefully very soon ..

martinemorris · 29/07/2009 20:32

Hi Oonagh, Oliver is such a great name isn't it!!!!! I'm in hospital until Saturday so trying to take it as easy as I can...... How are the sleepless nights going?

OonaghBhuna · 29/07/2009 22:10

Get as much rest as possible! Ollie is 2 weeks now so I am getting used to the lack of sleep....He has really settled now that he is feeding much more efficiently after the snipping of the tongue tie.

Oh I dont feel as lonely now

oonagh- great news that ollie's tongue tie got fixed so easily and now he's feeding properly. how're you feeling 2 weeks post section?

OonaghBhuna · 31/07/2009 21:20

MM - thanks for asking!Recovery from section has gone really well.Iam surprised considering it was the 3rd.I think coming home to a busy house has actually helped the recovery. I am loving walking again!!! /Its been much harder emotionally, i wasnt prepared for the overwhelming feeling I experienced when I got home. life and our routines are so totally different. the girls found it hard but they are great now. They love Ollie He is wonderful

Morning,

We came home on Saturday and its been great. DS (2.9) has been the best considering its been him for the past few years. He absolutely adores his little brother and cant do enough for us....

Had a scare yesterday though as had to get the doctor out as my haemoglobin levels are low and having to be monitored.... I too cant believe how amazing my recovery from this section has been, I just have to make sure I dont do too much just because I feel so well......

I was very lucky to be able to have Oliver in The Portland so I dont feel like ive been in a hospital, more of a hotel..... It was the best experience possible and how every woman in the country should be treated....

OonaghBhuna How is life treating you?? I hope there are more babies very soon and more people joining us.....

3HotCrossBuns · 03/08/2009 15:08

Martine - you are so lucky having Oliver at the Portland. I'm guessing you weren't chucked out 24 hours after your section .

Bit worried last night as was 12 days post section and started bleeding a lot and loss had been minimal until at that point. Have definitely been overdoing it especially with regards to my 19 month old.

How are all the siblings coping with the new arrivals? My 4 year old is utterly devoted but the 19 month old is getting a bit fed up now - he's very much used to being my baby and its clearly a shock that there's another smaller baby in the house. All not helped by him just getting over chicken pox and cutting 2 new teeth!

Beatrice is fab though - very sweet and at the moment just sleeps and feeds.

How's everyone else doing?

martinemorris · 05/08/2009 09:41

traceybath

I was very fortunate, yes. As Oliver was breech (feet first) our medical insurance covered abbout 90% of the cost.... otherwise believe me we wouldnt have been able to afford it, well not without a bank loan!!

I was in from Tuesday until Saturday and even then I had to beg to be let out.... The care I had was amazing and what every woman should experience.... For the first 24 hours post section I had a midwife to myself....

How is the blood loss today?

Im currently on iron tablets due to my blood loss (Sorry if thats TMI!!) as my haemaglobin levels are quite low so trying to build it back up....

Oliver is very good at the moment although last night he was a devil and was crying a lot and pulling his legs up to his chest... I think these are signs of colic?? Am I right.

My other little boy Henry (2.9) is amazing and loving being a big brother and cant do enough. He is being so helpful.....

Martine x

OonaghBhuna · 05/08/2009 19:43

Traceybath- its quite common after a section to have an increase iin blood loss especially when you start being more active. I had a loss for 6 days and on Sunday it started again and I still have it.My HV said only to be concerned if the colour changes to bright red at the minute its brown.

MM he might have just been full of wind, i hope its not colic. You can get drops to relieve the pain from the pharmacy.

My girls have been devils today, its been hard and DH announced last night that he has to go to the US next week Sun-Fri.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 10/08/2009 12:05

Hello
I'm baaaackkkkkk

Congrats all the other mummies

I have not been very well, neither has DS2, I keep having iron crashes and fainting and stuff, plus I needed an enema, and I split my scar. I have been in a pretty bad way and in and out of hospital.

Plus DS2 kept vomiting blood and it turns out he is probably allergic to the dairy proteins in formula, and I was planning to FF, so as well as feeling like shite I have had to pump like a bitch to get a milk supply up which isn't going particularly well either, esp with all the medication etc I am on. I take like 20 tablets a day plus I have to inject myself in the stomach twice a day.

Sooooo all up I think I have skirted around one of lifes low points. Plus people (dr's/mw's) keep calling DS2 miracle baby as he is ok after my placental abruption, which then makes me all tearful.

MrsThePoint · 10/08/2009 12:13

Oh makka, I am so sorry to hear that. It sounds like you are a fantastic mummy, pumping for your baby despite plans and pain, I am so impressed! You are amazing, no wonder you are tearful. Cry all you need to, let it out, otherwise it'll bottle up! I'm sure everyone will understand!

Makka, I agree with MTP you have been through alot, I hope you are getting plenty of support at home.

My DH left for the US yesterday morning so I am home alone with the kids. Its been a nightmare at times but also ok. A good friend took DD1 out for the afternoon and when she returned she gave me two bags of M&S food! She is so fantastic.
