I can remember the seat you're talking about but can't remember any details.

We love our mamas and papas seat, I find it easier to fit than other models as you don't have to feed the seatbelt through the back of it, the tension strap is reassuringly secure, and it takes up a very small footprint on the car seat.

Ds hasn't been sick today, horray! Only fed him small meals, but they stayed down.

Dd came into our room to tell us she'd done a poo. She announced 'mummy sleeping on top of daddy! I sleep on a pillow'.

DebiTheScot · 16/08/2009 20:44

pacita I think that one on the youtube video was huge.
The next stage of seat (if you want a 9 month- 4 years rather than 9month-11yrs one) is always going to be fairly chunky I think. We've got the Maxi Cozy Priori and the Britax 1st class and the Maxi Cozy is a lot less bulky (but I think that's because the Britax one goes rear and forward facing)

Have spent the weekend doing a 1st stage declutter of the house ready for 3 estate agents to come and value the house tomorrow and Tues. Then once they've been and we've chosen who we go with we need to do a big tidy, clean and get rid of a lot of stuff. How on Earth do you keep a house clean and tidy with 2 small children in it??????

Pacita · 16/08/2009 21:05

Thanks ladies, i did found that particular seat. It is HUGE indeed, debithescot. I'd have to rent a limo just to be able to strap it on.

Will check out your suggestions!

debi you find a kind friend and you 'lend' them your larger toys for the duration. And your kids watch a lot of tv so they can't mess up what you've just tidied! its not easy but its worth it!!

does anyone know anything about fits/ convulsions in babies. DD had a scary 10 second trembling fit and went bright red in the face today. I'm going to get her to the gp's tomorrow to get her checked over, but I'm hoping it was a one off, she didn't have a temp and seemed fine.

debi agree with carrie, just do 24/7 cbeebies or go out while it's on the market.

digitalgirl · 16/08/2009 22:14

starlight I wouldnt leave you ladies!

pacita thanks for reminding me, we need to get ds weighed to see if he's anywhere near 13kg - the max weight for his current carseat.

Ds clingy this weekend, to be expected after me working fulltime all week. And waking for 1.5 hours every night from 1:30. Hope he grows out of it.

Sooooo are you all looking forward to x factor starting next Saturday?? I'm nervous after watching x factor rewind yesterday, I'd never seen the judges houses stage till then.

digitalgirl · 16/08/2009 22:17

meglet call nhs direct/999 now, just had a baby first aid course yesterday and they said you need to get febrile convulsions checked out straightaway. Maybe someone can come out and see you.

pacita I checked her temp as soon as it happened and it was normal - I'm addicted to our hi-tech ear thermometer so the dc's are always having me popping it in their ears. She was full of beans for the rest of the day.

NHS direct nurse is calling back in a little while .

Meglet · 16/08/2009 23:21

update. NHS direct referred me to the out of hours gp and I've been told to take her to the surgery tomorrow. The doc said that as she didn't have a temp she needs to be checked out. I get the impression that they wouldn't have worried if I had said she was poorly.

I feel so bloody crap , I panicked when she did it and once she was ok again I just put it down to the fact babies sometimes have fits. I hope she's ok and it never happens again.

Pacita · 17/08/2009 12:29

Meglet, well done. I think it's best to be calm than to flap about at the minimum sigh of unwellness, like i do.

Let us know how it goes, I'm sure it'll be totally fine.

Scary stuff meglet. Hope the doc has said she's ok.

Have had the 1st of the estate agents round and he has valued the house at what I expected so that's a good start.

Meglet · 17/08/2009 14:14

Well, we took DD to the gp's and as I suspected she seems to be in rude health and he can't see any reasons for the 'fit' or whatever it was. We were in there for a while and he was watching her like a hawk but she just smiled and gurgled her way through the appointment. He said to take her to the gp's / A&E if it happens again. I'm going to do some googling and see if I can pin point what it might be. Thanks for your good wishes everyone .

debi have you started looking at houses? Are you going for another bedroom / loo / utility room / integral garage .

Pacita · 17/08/2009 14:22

great news, Meglet. Don't make yourself too paranoid looking at horribleness on the internet. I know I do it at the slightest concern and I ended up thinking of horrendous (and highly unlikely) diseases.

At any rate, as our LOs have the knack for making us look silly, I bet she never ever has a fit again.

Sigh. Diego is grumpy, clingy and a general pain in the arse today. I think it's teething. He felt hot, but checked his temp and it was ok. And now his eye looks very red, as if he had bumped into something. I better get out of the house before he succeeds in sending me to the looney bin.

OP posts:
CarrieBo · 17/08/2009 14:40

meglet how scary for you.

Ds seemed a bit better today, he woke at 3:30am starving hungry, clearly realising he'd thrown up most of what he'd eaten for the last three days! He ate surprisingly little breakfast or lunch though, but they stayed down and his temp has gone. He signed 'milk' as well which was cute, and he's great at 'nappy change'. STILL won't sign thank you though!!! Clearly going to need serious training to get manners into this one, dd was all 'please' and 'thank you' from 9m!

digitalgirl · 17/08/2009 15:19

meglet so glad to hear it wasn't anything to worry about. I think we all know our own babies better than anyone and can tell when something is genuinely wrong, but it doen't hurt to just get them checked out by a doc.

carriebo I'd be grateful if my DS would stay in his high-chair throughout the duration of a meal, let alone say 'thank you'!! Also glad to hear your lo is on the mend.

DS cried for a whole TWO HOURS from 3:30 this morning. urgh. Why why why have we descended into mighttime hell again? I thought DH was going to throw himself out the window. 45 minutes into the screamathon I suggested we let him cry it out as he was bound to fall asleep in the next 20 minutes. Nope, he continued to holler at the top of his lungs for a further 45 minutes. Pausing for about 5 minutes silence before beginning a more half-hearted cry at 5:40am. Decided he clearly wasn't going to go to sleep before his morning feed and brought him into bed with us where he fed and then slept happily till 8am.

And we think trying for another is a good idea?!

Debs75 · 17/08/2009 15:40

We are still not crawling here but Robyn has decided to go for the pushing to stand pose. She gets on all fours and then pushes onto her feet where she then wobbles before flopping down onto her bum. She wants to stand but her legs aren't strong enough yet so we hold her whilst again she wobbles then flops onto her bum.

Carriebo how did you get him to sign I want to start Robyn off but am not sire where to start

imoscarsmum · 17/08/2009 17:31

Meglet so sorry to hear of the things happening to you and yours - hope things are bearable.

DG was almost excited for a moment about your pg & sorry that DS is still waking - it will end. Not much help but it will one day and if you're up at night with DS anyway, hell why not be up at night feeding a newborn??!

We have exciting news - C is finally crawling!! Not 100% and not very fast but she made it from our bedroom door to the landing this morning. She's also over the latest teething bout, has 4 teeth and is taking more milk morning and night. Hoping some mobility will help with separation anxiety as she can follow me when I leave the room!

Carrie YANBU - glad it sounds like it's worked out.

Hopefully · 17/08/2009 17:54

T still doesn't crawl. I'm thrilled

Although I do sometimes wonder if he'd sleep a bit more if he was moving! He's down to about 90 minutes a day, and 11 or so hours at night, but is perfectly happy, so it's obviously the right amount for him at the moment.

Got a childrens' cake book out of the library today. Do you think T would like a caterpillar and a treasure chest and a tractor and a hot air balloon and a bunch of flowers? Oh, and a fire engine?

Hopefully · 17/08/2009 17:55

Oh, and Meglet glad all is well!
