Ouch SOL xxx

Dippy sorry for my very random post the other night - I am very sorry for your sil xx

Dooby - are you doing much during the holidays? Just randomly wondering exactly how far away from me you are???

Ds1 has been away since Thursday showing cattle at the Kent County show with my brother. He has got a first today in his handling class, and my brother got supreme show champion [proud]

I am starting to wonder if the extension will ever be finished all the major stuff is done, but so many little things need finishing off......
and am that when ds1's new wardrobe was delivered it was damaged!

always hassle hassle hassle......

My mums best friend died last tuesday she was like a mother to my mum. Her own mum (my nan) died when she was only 13 and this other lady sort of became her surrogate mum, my mum has spent the last few weeks nursing her, and it really is so very sad

StealthPolarBear · 19/07/2009 07:04

oh no caz your poor mum. Was it a sudden illness? Hope she's OK.
Thread very quiet for the last few days

CaptainDippy · 19/07/2009 09:12

Last post disappeared!!?

Oh Caz, that is very Thoughts and prayers are withy ou all, espcially your mum. xx

cazboldy · 19/07/2009 09:52

No not a sudden illness. She had a brain tumour, that was operated on 18 months ago, but when they operated it was in a very difficult place and they could not get it all, so they knew it would come back. , she has been very poorly for about the last 4 months, and in a hospice type place for the last 3 weeks. she was 71

elkiedee · 19/07/2009 11:56

Sorry Caz, that's very sad for your mum

cazboldy · 19/07/2009 17:27

Hope you all ok.xx

cazboldy · 20/07/2009 09:10

hiya Dooby - glad the memorial went well.... we are about 15 mins south of Norwich just off the a140

ScarletBandit · 20/07/2009 10:30

Hi ladies

Caz, hope your mum is doing ok. The loss of someone so close is tough to take, even if it was expected.

Oooggs, your childcare plans sound great, partly due to the cheapness of it! I can't believe nursery could be so little money for a day!

CD, hope your SIL and her dh are doing ok, just can't imagine what they must be going through.

SOL, OW OW OW is all I can say. Peroxide in the eye, ow again! Hope it has settled now and you can get your lenses back in

Nothing much to report here. Am off to bed in a bit as I worked last night.
Am booking a B+B in Paignton for a long weekend in August so that we get a little break away. We are going to Cyprus in October for a fortnight so my money needs to go towards that, but really felt the need to have something a little sooner to look forward to!

oooggs · 20/07/2009 14:12

mj - new nursery only cheap as I am only paying for the lunch time session the rest is government funded pre-school for 5 sessions a week from the term after 3rd birthday which will be next Easter for dts.

So it is only term time and I am taking the 5 sessions as 2.5 days.

Just waiting to hear if I have the sessions I would like - probably won't find out until Sept/Oct.

runnyhabbit · 20/07/2009 16:20

Hello - lurking again - busy on nappy threads - off on hols on weds.

Sorry to hear sad news dippy & Caz.

Hope everyone else is well - how many new babies are there now?

Ox

ScarletBandit · 21/07/2009 09:55

Morning ladies, hope everyone is ok.

Well, true to form the weather is pants for the summer holidays! It is absolutely pouring down here and looks very grim, so I don't hold out much hope for it stopping any time soon! Typical.

Doing very little today, waiting in for the Tesco man to deliver my shopping. I am so glad I ordered it online yesterday, really don't fancy having to go out in the pouring rain with both the children in tow to do a big shop!

ScarletBandit · 21/07/2009 09:56

And the blood tests which were done on my dog have come back as negative. I am very very relieved. Not a huge deal in light of the news here over the last few days I know, but I do feel happy that he is ok

StealthPolarBear · 21/07/2009 10:38

SB - that's good news!

CaptainDippy · 21/07/2009 15:41

Good stuff SB

All ok here. I am on diet and doing well Starving though ....

ScarletBandit · 22/07/2009 12:08

Are you doing any diet in particular CD? It is very hard to stay on the straight and narrow when dieting (it is for me anyway!).

StealthPolarBear · 22/07/2009 16:39

Hello! Missing you all but it's so quiet on here!

Sexonlegs · 22/07/2009 20:19

Hi loves, apologies for absence.

Mind you, lots of absent people these days

Has been mad here. Dh has been away since Monday, and I am knackered. He gets back about 10 p.m tomorrow night, and then is away for a long weekend with the lads. So, a week on my own I find it so hard, and am ashamed to say I just wish the time away B finished at school today as well, so double trouble. I just hope the sun shines often!!

So, how is everyone else - apologies for my moan (sol slithers back in her pit of self pity!)

oooggs · 22/07/2009 20:26

Luke turned 6 mths on Moday

we are going away on friday and I hate the run up to it so much organising and we are only going to stay with mil at the other end of the country (well nearly )

1st day of the hols today hard work this childcare stuff and we (dh was/is on lates) only had 2 home and Luke was a dream and dh and ds1 went out!!!

Bramshott · 23/07/2009 09:46

Hello all! Sorry, have been lurking a bit but not posting much.

N broke up yesterday and we are off to my grandparents overnight tonight. It will be lovely, but I always worry a bit that the girls will exhaust them too much (they are both in their early-mid 80s). But then of course they love to see them, and I try to ensure that they get as many chances as they can IYSWIM.

Umm, brain emptied, must work while O is out of the house and N is occupied upstairs.

elkiedee · 23/07/2009 14:34

Hi all,

SOL don't apologise for moaning, I'd defintely moan in your situation. I don't know what I'd do, really.

Bramshott, hope you, dds and gps all enjoy the visit.

Yesterday we took C and D to see dp's mum, the first time she'd met C, and she hadn't seen D since before Christmas. C was wonderful, smiley and giggly and holding her fingers and burbling at her. I can't recommend the venue (Morrisons cafe in Kings Lynn) but am glad we did it. I hope we'll get to do it again in a few months, but she has a cancerous lump on her back and apparently the doctors fear she may not survive an operation . I'm glad we made the effort yesterday but am sad and worried for dp.
