suiledonn · 30/09/2009 21:33

hi everyone, thanks for all the lovely posts about dd1. she is a bit better today but you can see it has taken it's toll on her.

I am considering taking her out of preschool. she has only managed 7 out of 15 days so far and was finding it hard to settle with all the disruption. Also I feel sometimes she just doesn't have the energy.

PinkyMinxy · 30/09/2009 21:55

Suiledonn poor little DD, it is hard to know what to do, isn't it. Can she just go for half days, then have a nap in the afternoon?

Have just hard that a mummy friend of mine, haven't seen her in ages actually, but she is expecting her second set of twins soon. Sobering thought!

Well my little girls are asleep in their room together But their room looks gorgeous, and DD1 was so obviously happy to have Mimi in with her, it is lovely really.

suiledonn · 30/09/2009 22:17

She was only going 3 hours per day anyway but had only just started to settle a bit and made a friend last week.

Your girls room sounds lovely Pinky I would love my 2 in together. Well, they are really cos we all end up in my bed every night. Porr dh usually gets evicted.

PinkyMinxy · 30/09/2009 22:29

lol well we are quite often all in our bed!We shall see if DD1 sleeps better now she has company in her room. She always sleeps so much better on holiday, because she is in with her brother then.

I would stivk with it re the preschool- even if she only goes a few days a week, they do love it, don't they? But I wouldn't worry about her not having full attendance - what do the staff say?

Yorky · 01/10/2009 07:30

Morning all
I have had 6hrs sleep and feel like I've been hit by a bus!
Suiledon, I would stick with pre-school, especially if she'd made a friend. Does it matter if her attendance isn't great?

How was Perth Ellielou?

Annoying when things don't fetch much on ebay isn't it Daisy, at least you've got stuff listed and sold, its been on DH list of things to do for ages, most of our stuff goes to the thrift shop so we get something for it but not a lot but no trips to post office as our locallest one has just closed.
Most importantly, the clutter is leaving the house!

Good luck to those trying and wanting to move house, I like it here (apart from the concerns over DSs accent!) but will be lucky to stay till next summer - hopefully after May

Morning all, Sorry if I cant acknowledge everyones goings on. Just read through and then cant remember who said what. ceebee i wasnt around on the thread when you were discussing your OP so i dont know what your having done but big hug if your feeling nervous

coolkat glad you pushed the issue about beccas hips. great that you have a scan now. Hopefully it'll all come to nothing but I know that sick nervous feeling whilst you wait. DD's next appointment is next friday so im hoping that one is fine too.

Glad the wheelybugs were a good recommendation My DD is prob the youngest on the thread and ive done all her birthday shopping already, purely as i used double tesco vouchers and nectar points so be a bit savvy! ive made her a big banner using scrapbook paper cos i was bored and wanted to do something crafty!

I'm feeling like poop, I'm really rundown, prob from the fact DD hasnt slept since the day she was born and now I have a whacking coldsore on my face and one in my throat. absolutely kills. Times like this I wish I could call MIL but she has only seen DD a handful of times and lives 2 streets away. Never bothers with her ..sigh..

Tinkerisdead · 01/10/2009 08:58

ohhh and i'm not trying for number 2 as such, just not preventing number 2. I'll leave it to fate, but I want three kids so I'm getting a wiggle on...as it were...ahem.

LatinDAISYcal · 01/10/2009 09:48

ouch at the coldsores DW . Watch out for DD though as first infection in small people can be quite serious. DS1 was really ill when he was about 18months old, with coldsores all over his face and ulcers in his mouth and throat.

yorky, it takes time for sleep to catch up with you doesn't it? I was like that for a week after bumble started sleeping through; like I couldn't get enough sleep where before I had been functioning (just) on four hours a night.

Metatone tonic is good for general runnny down ness.

right, too much to do and too little time to do it in and the DC are being monkeys in another room. Had horrible incident yesterday with DD trying to cut an apple with an 8inch kitchen knife and cutting her finger (only minor thankfully) and then poking the knife at bumble and nicking his face or so she says; I'm not entirely sure he hasn't just scratched himself. Scary though to think what might have happened

AutumnLady · 01/10/2009 11:11

Hi all

We are free of chickenpox at last and J is back at nursery! Poor thing had spots everywhere, on his face, back, tummy and in his hair. Need to take him for haircut number 3 once they're all gone

Just a thought, and am willing to have things thrown at me, but does anyone fancy doing a Secret Santa??? V similar to the Secret Stork we did last year. I had such a lovely gift from my stork which J still has in his cot to this day that I wondered if that may be a nice thing to do? I, for one, have had a 'turbulent' year to say the least and last xmas was not the happiest thanks to the twat xdh, so wondered if anyone else was up for it? We have all had a rollercoaster year so some smiles and surprises may be in order

As I say, I'm willing to be told to shut up pipe down so what say you all?????

xx

Yorky · 01/10/2009 11:37

Would that be secret santa for mums or babies?

OP posts:
AutumnLady · 01/10/2009 11:48

Could be for either I suppose Yorky

Twas just a thought and thanks for answering!

prestochangeo · 01/10/2009 12:33

Just did a quick name change so as not to 'out' myself because I wanted to say Autumnlady I am so please you and J like the Secret Stork gift I sent you last year. I have to admit I did put quite a bit of thought into it and am glad it worked out.

AutumnLady · 01/10/2009 12:44

You have sooo made me smile prestochangeo as I still don't have an inkling of who sent it to us!!! J loves it and my mum is thinking of getting one for her friend's daughter as she was amazed by how it worked!!

So, whomever you are, THANK YOU (again) for such a cool gift xx

Tinkerisdead · 01/10/2009 16:49

what was the present then you two?

daisy thankyou for tip about DD and coldsore, i must admit I am petrifed of her getting it and im hand washing like mad. im more worried about what could happen if i changed her nappy if virus is on my hands.

I will do a secret santa, i promise im sticking around on the thread now so im happy to take part. My DD still uses her secret stork present too but i know who mine was, i recognised their writing from book swap he he.

PinkyMinxy · 01/10/2009 17:09

Hello all
Sorry to hear you are feeling run down, Drw.

I too would love to do a secret santa, AL, I really enjoyed the secret stork and I really love shopping

LatinDAISYcal · 01/10/2009 20:24

secret santa would be a lovely thing to do, but could I absolve myself of organising it? I fear my head will explode if I try and think about anything else. I say presents for mums though as the DC will be bombarded this year as it's their first "proper" Christmas since last year they were too little to notice

Had a hideous day here, which I won't go into, but haven't stopped all day and had Dd in a foul mood and screaming and shining over everything, and taking her bad mood out on bumble. She dropped her daytime nap ages ago and it's fine usually but she is a bit run down and really tired at the minute, but just won't give in. bumble has also not had an afternon nap for the last week so by teatime it's HELL here.

We are having a bit of progress with potty training though so that's a good thing there!

DW there was a thread a while ago about cold sores and babies; it's much worse where newborns are concerned, but I was genuinely shocked as I hadn't realised how serious it can be.

chocolategal · 01/10/2009 20:30

Hi everyone
promise I will catch up later or tomorrow.
I think secret Santa is a great idea too

PinkyMinxy · 01/10/2009 21:16

HI all
Sorry you've had such a crappola day, Daisy.

V.jealous of your potty trianing, though- DD1 is not the slightest bit interested. It suprises me really as she seems so grown up in other ways.

DH has had to take her to the hospital tonight , as she has had some sort of horrid allergic reaction on her legs- big patches of hives all over. I have no idea what has caused it. I thought maybe the new carpet but she was rolling around naked on it yeserday and had no reaction at all. She is of course her usual perky self but herlegs are quite painful, hot and itchy. I am hoping for the 'something and nothing' response from the doc.

chocolategal · 01/10/2009 21:21

Im back sooner than i thought!

Drswife Hope you feel better soon. Trust you to be so organised for your DD's bday, i remember how organised you were with her nursery and playroom on our AN thread
ceebee You will be absolutely fine with your op, but i agree the waiting is definately the worst bit. hope you have a good weekend and dont think about it too much.
suiledon glad your DD is on the mend.
That is a very cute image pinky of your DD's in the same room, sounds like your DD1 is very protective of mimi, sounds lovely

We have just been adjusting to DH's new job and all that goes with me being back at work and having to drop off/pick up DS at MIL's.
I am soooo grateful she is there is to look after him but his bedtime is always 2 hours later when he has been at hers as she doesnt quite get the timings of his naps right. I know it doesnt sound like a big deal but it just means by the time he goes to bed im ready for mine and the house is an absolute tip.
Enough of my moaning when it is pretty trivial!

ceebee to give you a laugh i was looking after a patient last night who had just had a fairly big op the day before and as i walked into the bay she is standing in her underwear applying fake tan so no excuses for not looking your best immediately after yours!!!

chocolategal · 01/10/2009 21:23

Sorry to hear about your DD pinky hopefully she will just need an antihistamine and get home asap. Let us know x

PinkyMinxy · 01/10/2009 21:49

Hi choc thanks, yes the doc thinks a viral reaction so it's piriton tonight then back tomorrow if it's not gone. Would explain why she has been soo wingey today.

You know, as regards the siblings, we have been lucky so far in thst they on the whole really get on well. It's so nice to see.

ellielou02 · 01/10/2009 22:19

Hi
drswife hope you feel better soon cold sores are awful and the one in your throat sounds sore
pinky Hope your DD1 is better tomorrow.
chocgal I know what you mean about not getting the timings for naps right, I was like you with DD1 when I went back to work and was so grateful to MIL for watching her but I got very stressed out if she didnt stick to my routine(which she didnt)and it threw the rest of the day out IYSWIM
daisy sorry you have had a bad day hopefully tomorrow will be better.
yorky perth was good, Millie ended up modelling the McNappy which is basically a wrap designed by Minki and a tartan designed by a company up near where I live the tartan colours were pink for a girl, blue for a boy, yellow for sunshine to dry and white for nappy cotton, there is a pic on my profile. We had a lovely day meeting other mums and babies in cloth and a nice lunch then were on local news at night
I like the idea of secret santa and also think it should be for mums, the babies will get spoiled anyway x

LatinDAISYcal · 01/10/2009 23:06

OMG pinky

I hope she is OK. Can you think of anything that she might have eaten?

AFingerofFudge · 01/10/2009 23:24

lovely idea about the secret santa, would love to join in although I have never done one before. Unfortunately I only met you lovely lot after M was born, so never was involved in the secret stork either.

pinky hope your DD is ok and that you discover what has caused the rash
suiledonn sorry you've had such a worrying time too. My eldest DS has asthma, weirdly enough though the only 3 times we have had to take him to hospital with it have been when we are on holiday, weird eh?
chocgal that is v. funny about applying the fake tan.

Hi to everyone else. Have just seen the time and need to go to bed. Between ebay, FB and MN its a wonder anything gets done in this house

Oblomov · 02/10/2009 08:03

Count me in , for secret santa.
